The two Beasts of the Revelation walked among us for nearly half a century, but no one knew them.
Then millions of people simply Disappeared from the earth, and the Beasts decided to make themselves known. Can anything or anyone save the world –now that they have arisen?
Daniel Goldman is among those who have tried for the past thirteen months to ignore the world-wide Disappearance.
But on a Monday morning in late September events outside his control begin to chip away at his self-imposed ignorance. Everywhere he goes he finds himself hotly pursued and people wanting things from him he’d never contemplated.
As he travels the globe negotiating the largest oil deal on the planet—and as an ancient empire gradually re-awakens—he meets and falls in love with a beautiful Israeli woman. She helps Daniel discover he has never really been the “captain of his soul.”
Instead, all his life unnoticed “voices” have guided him to a single decision with eternal consequences.
The Biblical Apocalypse is upon them and, one way or another, Daniel is destined to play an important role in prophesied events.
Voices is the first of a series about the end times—which refer to the end of our age, not to the end of the world. The series looks to the Bible for its framework and presents a plausible picture of the end times according to a literal reading of its prophecies.
This is a take on the biblical Reckoning (I'm not particularly religious) and lead protagonist Daniel is trying to pretend it never happened and carry on the billion dollar business his adopted parents owned.
I sort of enjoyed it but there were chapters that I could;t get into such as endless talk about buying oil and a chapter about playing cards. They did nothing for me. Otherwise it wasn't a bad book.
It was entertaining and suspenseful and I'm intrigued as to what comes next
Thank you so much to netgalley for sending me an ARC copy of voices a novel of the end times by Steven Ira . It will be released on November 10, 2017
It is set in a time between the rapture and tribulation, the great suffering. As everything starts to fall apart, everyone starts to quickly question what they believe.
The best way to describe this book is that it most resembles a new type of the left behind series, it was filled with suspense, action and taking a look at how you live your life.
I seem to enjoy the Christian books where the main character is struggling to believe, i feel alot of people could benefit from reading books where the character might relate to them in a biblical sense.
I really liked that some of the main characters names where biblical like Micheal and Daniel it made the story come together, connect better in my opinion.
Voices is a surprisingly good book about the Christian End Times. Author Steven It's has a knack for writing a complicated thriller with all of the twists and turns you crave.
Theologically speaking, he stays true to Biblical prophecy without being pedantic. In fact, I learned some things I didn't know while I was holding my breath, waiting to find out what would happen next.
Daniel Goldman, the owner of a very wealthy private equity fund, is approached by an oil and gas exploration company in Israel. Everything is kept extremely quiet.
He meets their representative, Rebecca Shaul, and sparks fly instantly. Unfortunately, so do the bombs and attacks on Daniel's life. It turns out that the project he is invited to invest in is a political hot button.
The rest of the first book in the series builds the elaborate conspiracy developing both politically and spiritually. This is one hard book to put down! I'm already reading the second one.
Voices is a great mystery and a great GODly message. It is about the end times where Daniel - who was left behind - has been well let me say something was happening to him that was scaring him and he thought he was going crazy but he wasn't - you have to read the book to find out what it is. He is driven, cautious, inquisitive and caring. This book opens your mind to the tribulation and the rapture and it makes you want to research it for yourself to find out what is the truth - as a child my father - a pastor - to NEVER - ever - take anyones word to you no matter who it is - Pastor, friend, no one - unless you can have it backed by the Scriptures. Now this is just a novel so that doesn't apply so it is fun - but that was just a little advice. I received a copy of this book from the Publisher and Netgalley; all the opinions expressed in this review are all my own.
This was not the first and will probably not be last novel I've read about the end times. Only after finishing I realized this is only the first book of a series. This novel focuses on the time between "rapture" and "tribulation", the rise of the antichrist and the jews' role. Although I don't agree with all interpretations of the biblical prophesies (and with me many theologians - it's the nature of prophesies) this was an entertaining and suspenseful read.
Well thought out and well researched storyline with emphasis on biblical fact while incorporating fictional characters to tell the story. I am so looking forward to the next book in the Daniel Goldman series! I would highly recommend this series to any Christian or Jewish biblical scholars. It’s quite wonderful reading for the average reader too! Don’t miss it!
First off, I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. Daniel and Rebecca make a great pair. Although I'm not sure which one has the most faith. Love the way God's protection is shown in Daniel as he does God's will. This is a very good fictional book based on fact. Thank you.
This is a great read. I could not put it down. The author did a great job telling the story. I will stress that this is definitely a work of fiction however the story is excellent and I am dying to get to the next one in the series. I recommend it to those about 16 and up. It is the left behind on steroids.
Wow what an absolute thrill ride! I don't normally read Christian faith type books but I'm so very glad I did. This story was riveting. It reaffirmed my faith but was also a great read. I can't wait to read more from this author.
A intriguing read combining Biblical prophetic interpretation and fictional extrapolation of the could be interaction of characters . Ripe with drama action and unrequited love the story also entertsins and begs the question, tell me more.
It’s pretty much as the title says. I enjoyed reading this book, but it’s a bit over-descriptive sometimes. It throws a couple of twists at you that make you think a bit.
I have enjoyed your book and am looking forward to reading the next in line. It is a thoughtful read and makes you wonder what it would be like to be Daniel or Rebecca. Thank you for sharing your writing with us.
I enjoyed this beginning book of the end times series by Steven Ira. I intend to continue reading the series. It’s very plausible, yet it’s fiction. Action, suspense, prelude to the Time of Jacob’s trouble.
I had never read this author but love end time fiction based on scripture. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys this genre.
Thoroughly enjoyed the beginning of this series. The characters are relatable on a personal level, leaving me invested in their loves, lives, trials. I have read quite a few end time series, each of them different, sometimes extremely different, others more subtly, most of them very interesting. Voices ranks right up there among the top!
