Introduction Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology is Leah Remini’s first-hand account of her experiences within the Church of Scientology, including her decision to leave it after more than 30 years. Although Remini pulls no punches in her discussions of Scientology some of the harshest criticisms within the book are reserved to herself. Nonetheless she has been labeled by the church as a “Suppressive Person” (SP) due to her well-documented critical comments about the church, its practices, and its leader, David Miscavige.
In addition to the criticisms the author presents which she describes as the “allure” of Scientology, presenting its appeal as candidly as she presents its faults. She describes the book as a “personal act of defiance” against an intolerance in which she freely admits taking part. That Remini had been deeply involved in Scientology is evident throughout the book, giving additional weight to her disillusionment and eventual defection.
This work is not presented as a critique of Troublemaker nor of the Church of Scientology. Instead this summary presents a brief discussion of each of Troublemaker’s 19 chapters, with bulleted major points from each, allowing the reader to be aware of the topics discussed within each chapter.

What a waste of time, you could learn more watching the documentary, " Going Clear", the book is just rehashed information. Of course, if you are wanting gossip about movie stars and trashy talk from this sitcom princess, then this is your book. I had to read it for a book club or, I wouldn't have come near it ( so many books, so little time) and even then, I skimmed it. Everyone has their own reasons for reading what they do, and because I consider Scientology a joke to begin with, I found that this book only repeats the offense. However, I have to say that the book, or perhaps the topic, did inspire a peppery discussion in our book club, but that was because of what we brought to the table. I don't usually get much delight in trashing a book or author, Remini made a lot of money with the sale of this book, and I guess I figure more power to her (she was treated badly by this, so-called 'religion' that she actually grew up in, to defend her) but this one you will find on the clearance table very soon.

I learned quite a bit from this book. It made me want to learn more about Scientology. I still don't know who Leah Reminiscent is but her story is interesting and she is very courageous.
This book was well written and got Leah's story across of her experience in the church of Scientology. From the first page this book grabbed me and held me until the end. Recommend as a good read.
First of all the picture attached to this book is incorrect. I really liked this book, what an eye opener. She's a feisty woman who doesn't pull her punches, just tells it like it is.
