Why??

This is my first book by Ms. Bristol. May contain spoilers.
I was enjoying the book until there was TSTL moment thrown into the mix. Bliss was doing well in the beginning, and then throughout the book. You would think she would learn to listen to instructions after being kidnapped but no. It's frustrating to read. I've gotten to 83% and I can't read anymore. Who the Heck gives away inside information to the person that's tracking you or someone else. I want to chuck my Kindle but I just got this new one. I wanted to see how Travis did but I just can't deal anymore.

RC REVIEW

Dangerous Attraction The Complete Serial, I'm glad I waited to read the book in it's entirety because I hate cliffhangers and Sidney was genius when she split the book up, I'm just sorry I waited this long to read it. A lot of the serials I've seen are short and not worth my time, Dangerous Attraction, however, each part of the serial is at least novella length and sooo much happens they are almost complete stories by themselves. I've got to give Sidney props for freakin' me out during this book, if I thought Blind was creepy and gritty I was wrong Dangerous Attraction is way more creepy and gritty.

This isn't Travis' first book we first were introduced to him in Blind he is Emma's brother, he's son of the man who watched the BTK serial killer blind, torture, and kill his parents right in front of him. Travis has issues he's a felon and an ex-Navy SEAL currently working for the private security firm Aegis, he's also been working with the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Club trying to track down the serial killer club. Which is what has lead him to Las Vegas.

Bliss is her sister's keeper, Wendy has always been the fragile one. Bliss hoped that when Wendy fell in love and married Grayson she wouldn't be needed as much but then came the baby and it sent Wendy in to post partum depression. Bliss and Wendy arranged some time alone to go Christmas shopping but when Bliss showed and Wendy didn't she got a bad feeling. Still too soon to file a missing person report Bliss still goes to the police what she finds is Travis who overheard Bliss' description of Wendy who fits the victimology of the serial killer he's trying to track down. Bliss confirms Travis' identity and calls Grayson who then hires Travis on the spot. Travis is ready to proceed as normal using the information he got from Bliss but Bliss wants in on it, she wants to help find Wendy. Against his better judgment Travis lets her help.

What happens next is a rollercoaster ride of romance, suspense and intense action. So much happens kidnapping, murder, gunfights, Christmas, falling in love so much more. Travis and Bliss felt an instant attraction to each other but with everything going on it was a hesitant love Travis has a bunch of baggage he has to deal with and catch the serial killer. We also see the BAU team from Blind come in and help things along. Overall, this was a great story it dug it's hooks in deep sucked me in. I loved it.

It's not often I want the victims of a serial killer to die, but in this case I was rooting for the psycho. These two girls were so $%^&& dumb, they were literally running from the cops to the killer, multiple times, when it didn't even make sense. I think if I had been Travis, I'd have just said it eff it, I'm out.
I hate female MCs that are portrayed this way, he'd give her a direction, she'd swear she'd follow instruction, then immediately she'd justify a reason to do the opposite. I mean wtf is that?

Dangerous Attraction is book one in the Aegis Group by Sidney Bristol. Ex-Navy SEAL Travis Ration after a bad mistake that gave him a felony conviction accepted a job with the FBI hunting down a serial killer. When Travis thought he was a dead end with the case, Bliss Giles walks into his life. Bliss Giles sister is missing, and she matches the serial killer's victimology. The readers of Dangerous Attraction will continue to follow the twists and turns of Travis and Bliss investigation to find out what happens.

The first book I have read of Sidney Bristol and I engaged with the plot from the beginning of the book. I love Sidney Bristol portrayal of her characters, and the way they interact with each other throughout the book made it an enjoyable book to read. Dangerous Attraction is well written and researched by Sidney Bristol that ensures that I read more of her books. Sydney Bristol does a fantastic job of describing her settings.

The readers of Dangerous Attraction will learn about working for a private security company and how they help law enforcement investigations. Also, the readers of Dangerous Attraction will learn about the consequences and problems cause by postnatal depression.

I recommend this book.

This story was the perfect balance of full out suspense and steamy romance.

Bliss is an independent woman, with a career - a be it in a non traditional industry, she's happy with her life overall - although she wouldn't mind a bit more beefcake in it. She takes care of her sister Wendy who's depression rules her life because she loves her and is her shield in this world.

But all this changes when Wendy goes missing. Bliss has temptation and salvation exploding across her path and it goes by the name of Travis.

Travis is an ex SEAL, former convict and employee of AGEIS - a company known for getting the job done no matter the circumstances. Can Travis handle a woman like Bliss? And can both of them resist the undeniable attraction that is between them while surviving the intent of a serial killer?

Loved the flow of this book, just when you thought it was safe the action and drama started up again. Now I would say that Bliss does do some "stupid" things and even repeats them, however, I understood the motivation behind the actions. It did kind of seem strange that they were blindsided by the serial killer in the end -

This story was the perfect balance of full out suspense and steamy romance.

This book was my introduction to Sidney Bristol, and I was very impressed. The characters are well-developed,  the plot is complex, and the pacing is just right. I was surprised by the author's ability to get inside the head of the killer, and although there were some violent scenes, there was nothing gratuitous or too graphic. Normally, I would not read this type of book, as I am not a big fan of this genre, but when an author does it right (like Dennis LeHane), I'll read whatever he/she writes. Sidney Bristol does it right.

As a result of this book, I have become a big fan of Sidney and have gone out of my way to read more of her work. The content is often "heavy," but she always handles it competently and in a manner that leaves a lasting impression. She doesn't write fluff. I highly recommend this book and this author.

A really cool, suspenseful book.

3,75 stars

This was my first book by this author, and it won't be the last. It was full of suspense and action, with a Criminal Minds-y touch that I loved (I'm crazy about that show).

I really liked Travis and Bliss interactions and chemistry, I enjoyed their conversation, how different than each other they were and how that worked out so well for them.

I could go without the heroine trying to solve things on her own. Don't get me wrong, I want women to be independent and self sufficient (in real life and in books). But if you're not trained to deal with an armed, dangerous psycho, leave that to an expert and don't put yourself in unnecessary dangerous.
You're not braver for taking stupid risks, you're just a burden and a liability.

That being said, I reafirm I really liked this book. I also enjoyed the sexy scenes a lot, they were really good.

Bliss's sister is kidnapped by a serial killer and Bliss becomes involved in a very dangerous game. In comes Travis, a dangerous man with a lot of issues, including not being a people person, to help Bliss find her sister. Steamy romance between the two ensures.

Action packed story at times leaving you wondering if the serial killer may win. He is intelligent, with a well thought out plan and a knack of getting away. Right amount of romance and suspense, all tied together for a page turning experience.

SPOILERS for the bginning of the book only!!

I liked the characters and the plot seemed promising, but then the author had to go and make it weird. Her sister is kidnapped by a perverse psycho and she is eating and thinking about banging the guy tasked with rescuing her sister. I am sorry, I don't have the ability to imagine a world where I would think of screwing the hero when my sister is faced with being raped and murdered. Sorry, but no.

Just can't resist a wounded hero and a strong heroine who shows the hero he has so much more value than just his bodyguard body. I look forward to reading more from this author and this series.

The couple: Travis and Bliss

Romance trope: romantic suspense
Series: Aegis Group
Length: 340 pages

Plot: Bliss is on a mission. Her sister, fragile from postpartum depression, has been kidnapped and all signs point to a prolific serial killer - the same serial killer Travis has been hunting in his quest to make sense of his childhood and more. When Travis meets Bliss and realizes her connection to his investigation, he offers to help her. There's more to it than that, though, as he begins to fall for a woman for the first time in his life. Bliss means everything to him, but keeping her safe won't be easy.

Commentary: I enjoyed this romantic suspense story. There was action and it didn't feel too forced. The characters were tough and skilled, but not superhuman. They made mistakes and got hurt. Of course, sometimes they did push through injuries that I'm sure would slow most people own, but training and adrenaline will probably make that closer to the truth than most of us realize. I hated that Travis waffled as much as he did, but Bliss was eventually a forgiving sort and they figured out what they meant to each other in time to make it count.
I did think the premise of the security group was interesting - I've read so many books with former military starting or joining security firms, but most of the time they're compliant; they might not have wanted to give up their military career (maybe, maybe not, depending), but they're happy to be doing the same sort of work. Travis seemed to actively hate it and was looking toward a future with something completely different.

Next book in the series: Dangerous in Training

I'll admit, the first couple chapters were hard to get through. The story had a solid premise, and the two main characters were likable, but the plot seemed pulled from several episodes of Criminal Minds. Once I got past that comparison, the story did capture my attention and held it to the end.

Things I liked: very sex positive. FMC works for a major sex toy shop, and isn't shy about it. Lots of intrigue, with ex-military, CIA and FBI officers throughout, many of whom were intriguing enough to make me want to read their stories too. Lots of emotional angst (the MMC has a ton of emotional baggage).

Things I wasn't crazy about: too many POV changes. I expect FMC/MMC in a hetero romance, and maybe the villain. This one also had sections written from the POV of the FMC's sister. The fat phobic dude-bro comments one of the computer specialists makes about the FMC. This book was originally written as a serial, and in some parts the action and storyline seemed to move too fast, and then be repeated again in the next section. Probably worked well when originally released, but when reading them all together, it made parts of the book seem slow.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, and will definitely read more books by this author.

The minute it was revealed that one of the main characters worked at a sex toy boutique, I knew which way this one was going to slide.

The good news is that there is actually a plot to this story, and the sex seems to just be there to keep those interested in that aspect of the tale reading on to find the next sex scene. The plot itself revolves around a demented serial killer's unholy attraction to two sisters. Some of it seems taken a bit from a true case: the Toy Box Killer, with other aspects a bit more unique and a bit more gruesome (if that's even possible, if you know about the Toy Box Killer). The sex comes in when an investigator contracted to find one of the sisters (already abducted) starts falling for the one not abducted, and she for him.

There were a few technical issues with the book, both in terms of things like verb tense disagreement within a sentence and a few other minor things. The main loss of a star, though, had to do with a lack of knowledge on how certain alphabet (read three-letter federal) agencies operate. It pays to do your homework with regard to these sorts of things if you want to make your premise and plot truly believable rather than merely entertaining.

So this one is so conflicting to me. I genuinely think this story started out so strong. It was fast paced. It was so interesting and of course it was spicy. There’s not a single book by this author that I’ve read that isn’t spicy. Lol.

Where it fell flat for me was the first 20% there had already been several kidnapping and several rescues and several spice scenes it genuinely felt like the rest of the book dragged so badly. I found myself predicting what would happen because it had already happened twice in the first 20% and then by the time I hit 60% I was insanely over it and ready for this book to be done. There was of course, yet another kidnapping and another rescue. The epilogue was cute, but overall, I think this book was entirely too long, and all of the point of views were a little bit confusing with the way it bounced back-and-forth between everybody.
I don’t know if I’ll continue the rest of the series. It was a great romantic suspense and really built up a mystery story, but it felt too fast and slow all at once somehow lol

Wow... Interesting start with the suspenseful kidnapping of Wendy... The discussion Bliss & Travis about her job, vibrators, & how just his attitude towards how people enjoy themselves was quite fun & entertaining... Men don't seem to like vibrators, because they think it means they aren't providing what their partner wants or needs, yet that might be what their partner wants & needs... It made Travis wonder if he was selfish in bed... ;) Interesting discussion there, & fun to read...

This story continues with Bliss being kidnapped, and then trying to trick the kidnapper into revealing himself.

Quite a nice story, with lots of quick twists and turns. Most authors would drag out some of the parts (ex. when someone is kidnapped), but it all goes quite quickly, so the story stays fresh & interesting.

I read this story as a part of the Dangerous Firsts - A Collection of First-In-Series Novels boxset...

Did Not Finish at about 82%. These sisters deserved death for being TSTL. Repeatedly they didn't do what they needed to do to keep themselves and other people safe. Why wouldn't this man who had killed so many people believe he was god when he was dealing with stupid individuals like these two sisters. Beings that this was the 1st book I have ever read by Sidney Bristol I'm not sure I want to check out anymore. The only reason I gave it two stars was because the relationship building between Travis and Bliss was interesting. I enjoyed the fact the hero was confused about what would be best for Bliss, to stick around or to leave. Had she finished the book after Bliss was rescued from the snowy mountains the book could have ended well. Sadly, the rest of the book was just not necessary and proved over and over again that Bliss and her sister Wendy aren't worth saving at the cost of all those other lives the villain took in his obsession to capture them.

It was easy to read, I started getting frustrated at the 60% mark because it could have just ended there but the 2 FMCs were intent on being caught up again. Travis was sexy, I’ll give him that, I work with the military & it’s making me look at my coworkers in a different way but I know that it soon dissipates when you actually speak to them 😂

It was kind of ridiculous that it kept happening, like fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me vibe but to keep getting fooled? No. I’m glad it had a happy ending though. Some loose ends never got tied, I still wanna know about the gloves and why that was never fully acknowledged, couldn’t get the tracking device out my head either but you know, here we are. It was easy to read & the love story was nice after the last read I had that literally broke my heart so yeah, give it a read. It’s nice but I won’t read it twice

What a Thriller!

This book sucks you right in and what a great book it is. There is no dull moment from beginning to end and there is so much suspense. Travis and Bliss are determined to bring a serial killer to justice, putting themselves in his path and right into danger. The serial killer has an obsession with Bliss and her sister and will do anything to get them. He is a psychopath with a dark past. Finding him puts everybody in the crossfire. There are moments in this book where you just want to cringe but it just heightens the suspense. This is book 1 in the series and you will be grabbing the next book right away. Amazing read!

I wanted to like this book so much more than I did. Frankly the FMC drove me absolutely batty making one dumb decision after another. A huge issue I have is when main characters think they know best/know what to do when CLEARLY they don't, and in fact have been told what to do/not do by someone WHO DOES KNOW! The fact that it happens multiple times?! It would have been a 2.75/3 star rating if not for this piece. At least she was consistanly annoying. He was fine. Neither really did much for me and their development felt surphace level. Will probably still try one or two more in the series.

Dangerous attraction

Wendy is one in a long line of blonde women kidnapped and abused but her sister is determined to find her before it’s too late.

Bliss meets Travis ex seal, PI and part of Aegis security team and together they work to find Wendy.

Bliss and Travis are great characters and together they are sizzling. I love how strong and brave Bliss is throughout her whole experience with a crazy kidnapping murderer.

I thought the romance happened a little bit to quickly, there was so slow burn or tension which I generally like in the books I read.

It had a good storyline and being the first book I have read from this author.

This book was everything I was looking for! Absolutely loved it! This is a romantic suspense and I think it has the perfect balance of romance and suspense. If you love these two things together this book is for you! I also love how fast paced the action was.
There were a couple times where I wanted to get a hold of Travis and shake him around but I understand why he was doing it. Although it still made me annoyed with him a few times. I love these two together. I looked forward to read the other books in this series. I hope they are as good as this one was.

Travis, who is an ex- SEAL, works for the Aegis Group which is a security company. Travis has a felony conviction attached to him for a bad judgement call. Aegis Group gave him the opportunity to work when no one else would. The FBI asked a favor of Travis to help capture a serial killer. While he is at the police station, Bliss walks in to explain that her sister, Wendy, is missing. The cops give her attitude but Travis goes and talks to her. When he sees her sister's picture he knows that she is a victim of the serial killer. While working together feelings start to develop between the two. The book is written in three parts and they are continuous. I enjoyed reading the book.

I totally got into this book. Travis and Bliss were great as the hero and heroine. And the twists! Talk about never knowing what was going to happen next... Just when I thought the ending might be coming, nope. And I loved how Wendy grew into herself, such an engaging secondary character. I'm also looking forward to the rest of the series so that I can get updates on Bliss and Travis and their hunt for the serial killers and the other series about the FBI BAU. So to say that I'm hooked is a bit of an understatement! LOL.

One man's obsession puts two sisters in danger...

Travis an ex-SEAL working for Aegis Group rescued Bliss's sister, Wendy, from a mad man - who happens to be a serial killer. Now both sisters are in the killer's sight. Can Travis save them both? Can the attraction that Travis and Bliss have get a chance to florish?

A story of murder, mystery, serial killer, adventure and love also full of action and a determination of a man to protect the woman he loves.

This romantic thriller is definitely a page turner and the chemistry between Bliss and Travis is off the charts. Throw in Las Vegas, a Navy Seal, A serial killer, the FBI, crime, murder, passion, chemistry, twists, surprises and you have an engaging story. The beginning of what appears will be a great series.

This book one was a little clunky for me. I liked both the H and h, but it seemed like the author was still trying to find her footing with this book. The plot was solid, if not a bit dark. I enjoyed the ride, for sure.

This was definitely enough of an enjoyable read that I will read next one!
