The National Geographic Society (NGS), headquartered in Washington, D.C., United States, is one of the largest nonprofit scientific and educational organizations in the world.
Founded in 1888, its interests include geography, archaeology, and natural science, the promotion of environmental and historical conservation, and the study of world culture and history. The National Geographic Society's logo is a yellow portrait frame—rectangular in shape—which appears on the margins surrounding the front covers of its magazines and as its television channel logo. Through National Geographic Partners (a joint venture with The Walt Disney Company), the Society operates the magazine, TV channels, a website, worldwide events, and other media operations.

I needed an easy read since my fever makes it hard to understand anything at all. I found this little volume waiting for me on my shelf and decided to give it a go.
The thing with those 100 events, things, whatever it is books is that they talk about everything and about nothing at the same time. I knew most of the things, but it was all presented in a very attractive way with all those pictures and timetables, so I enjoyed it a lot. I honestly was about to give it 4 stars when I noticed some mistakes. For example, they said 500 million people were killed in the Spanish Flu. Actually, that many was infected while about 50 millions were killed.

Много глупава книга. Как са датирали изобретяването на колелото не ми стана ясно. Определено насочена към англоговорящата аудитория, нищо че има и българско издание. Съвсем безполезна дори за ученици в начални класове.

Even though I already knew a little about most of the events, the bookzine's details were very helpful. An entertaining read, with beautiful pictures throughout.
