About the author

İlk ve orta öğrenimini İstanbul'da tamamladıktan sonra, İstanbul Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Güzel Sanatlar ve Sanat Tarihi Bölümü'nü bitirdi. Yüksek lisans ve doktorasını da aynı bölümde tamamladı. Bu yıllardan itibaren vakıflara yönelen ve İstanbul Resim ve Heykel Müzesi, KÜSAV ve Taç Vakfı'nın kurucu üyesi, Turkish Cultural Foundation bilimsel danışmanı ve daimi öğreticisi olan Atasoy 1997 yılında Maltepe Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi dekanlığına ardından İstanbul Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Dekanlığına atandı ve buradan 1999 yılında emekli oldu. Emekliliğinden beri araştırma yapmaya devam eden Atasoy, Prof. Dr.Gül İrepoğlu'nun da teyzesidir.

A gorgeous and "heavy" (weighs at least three kilo) book on the Ottoman Art of Iznik.
Great historical descriptions and explanation but the amazing part are the pictures. Absolutely beautiful.
A book to have on your coffee table and also a great gift for any art lovers.
