The continuing story of twins jack and Maddie. Jack and Maddie are separated. Jack is determined to finish off the evil Tarpon and return to his own realm, while Maddie is shown a different perspective. Can they reunite to stop Tarpon?
This is the second in this series and really just as good as the first. This one picks up shortly after Destiny Revealed ended and shows where Jack and Maddie are and what they have been doing. Jack still has issues and is sometimes still a sullen kid, but I loved watching him grow and change. Maddie is still naive and sweet but is coming into her own. The characters that we get to know and love in book one are here again. There is an emotional roller coaster through this book with betrayal on several levels, tough decisions, jealousy, and danger. Most of the new characters we met, I liked. Some I wasn't sure about to begin with but the author did a good job weaving them into the story and making them a part of it all. Overall, this series is great. I bought this one because my kids enjoyed the first one so much and I have to say, they loved this one as well and are impatiently waiting on book 3 to come out! It was a 5/5 for us. Great continuation on this story.
Having read and enjoyed the first book in this series, I am happy to say that the second installment does not disappoint! The story moved along at a fast pace and it kept me thoroughly engaged. I enjoyed seeing the development of the main characters and the introduction to some new and interesting players as well. I think this is a great YA adventure/fantasy, and I'm very much looking forward to the next book!
Jack is back in the world he was born in, Maddie is still in the magic realm, as well as their family. With the help of an assumed friend, Jack returns to the magic realm to try to find his sister. They are stronger together, but we are to find out if remaining together is possible. Maddie is learning things that contradict what she’d been told until now. Throughout the book, the twins try to determine what truth, if any, lies in what they’ve been told.
This is the second book I’ve read/listened to by this author and I would listen to another. I liked this book more than the first one and look forward to learning more about the fate of the twins.
This is the first book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Heather Jane Hogan ) and I would listen to another. The voices she chose for the characters were distinct and enjoyable to listen to. She does a rebellious teen well. She narrates clearly so I was able to increase the listening speed.
There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or swearing.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this unbiased review. Please feel free to comment on whether you found my review helpful. Story 4/5 Narration 4/5
A universe controlled by magic could potentially lead to greater stability to the ecosystems of our physical realm. It would end the chaos, conflict, and division in the magical realm. A universe under the control of magic looks on the outside to be a beautiful reality for everyone involved. There is only catch, the man responsible for bringing the universe under the rule of magic would then control everything, forcing everyone to serve him or die. Young Maddie is faced with an important question, do the ends justify the means? Young Jack ran away from all things magic, when he discovered that the people he once trusted have not been entirely honest with him. This is a sequel that lives up to the expectations of the first novel, and leaves the reader hanging on the edge of his seat for the next instalment of the series. If you love Mid-Grade YA Fantasy, this is a must read!
This novel is book 2 of a series done by Cris Pasqueralle. I read book 1 recently, and quite enjoyed it, so I was looking forward to what book 2 had to offer!
I wasn’t disappointed.
Paths of Destiny continues the series where the first novel left off, and explores more of the story and the world, as well as Maddie and Jack as they grow, develop, and change. It’s a fun read, skilfully written, and I recommend it.
Paths of Destiny is a perfectly suspenseful addition to the trilogy. Jack is determined to defeat Tardon and sets out to find his sister Maddie. But Maddie has other ideas. Can they come together to defeat evil? My daughter gives it 5 stars for fun, adventure, and suspense. I give it 5+ for being a story we can enjoy together. We can't wait for the final book!!
This is another fine installment in the Destiny Trilogy Series. Mr. Pasqueralle does a wonderful job weaving the story of Jack & Maddie's adventures as the twins discover their true identities as wizards destined to save two worlds. The book moves along at a fast pace & kept me entertained. I highly recommend this novel to young readers of fantasy adventures.
The fight between good and evil continues in this 2nd installment of Cris Pasqueralle's called "Paths of Destiny" taking the 13 year old twins, Jack and Maddie even closer to danger and death.
Love these characters in the story, keeps you reading and wanting more. Lots of action, good pace. Have already started the last in the series.
