Who has time to miss coffee and chocolate when there’s an Alien Warrior superhero stealing hearts?
Clever with a bright future ahead of her, Dr. Phoebe Brown has it all— intelligence, an enviable career as a highly respected doctor, beauty and brains. That is until her life is endangered on a failing maintenance Space Station.
A heroic rescue by a fleet of honorable, if not unbelievably sexy Warrior Aliens, places a now comatose Phoebe in a new alien world.
She wakes to find her entire life as she knew it is gone and she must start over—alone.
Malm is the ultimate warrior, committed to fulfilling his duty as second-in-command to his cousin and friend, Tordin. So, when he experiences an undeniable pull and extraordinary attraction for the sleeping human female, he wants nothing more than to get her safely to his planet. There she can find a male worthy of her and… away from him.
Will Phoebe be able to create a new life after Earth—alone—when her heart longs for the attention and touch of the one man who is the least interested—the one with the emerald eyes called Malm?
Overall 4 out of 5 stars Performance 4 out of 5 stars Story 4 out of 5 stars
Malm was sexy personified and Dr Phoebe was where he did not want to focus his dedication. He felt unworthy of someone to love. The goddess felt otherwise. Their work together was just as intense as the two of them working against the attraction pulling them together.
Johanna Fairview gave a good performance on narration but I was just wanted it to be more. Something that told me that I would have to come back and do this ride again. She gave the proper inflection, male/female differentiation was clear.
Revived by Malm, second book in the Olodian Alien Warrior series was not bad but not extraordinary.
The action picked up after Tordin and Kyra's mating. Phoebe woke up and she met Malm. Just as expected he "rejected her". Well it didn't take them to long to get together and mate. Just half of the book...
The monologues, the internal debate and long descriptions really killed the story - in my opinion. I am more of an action kind of reader and I was bored halfway through the book. While I can understand Malm's reluctance to mate when the actual mating happened I didn't get it why? There was nothing weird, out of the ordinary to justify the initial denial/ reluctance.
Now, after the mating, again (not again!, I said), the little human stalker - Brantley (Kyra's former boss, still, very much around) became the villain. At that moment the book jumped from boring to meh. Any other villain would have had more chances of being credible (to me) than the possessed sick human. When Phoebe, like Kyra, became "Xena de Goddess's warrior woman" i started rolling my eyes. There was no amount of time spent by Phoebe in getting to know the alien culture, language, ship or anything Olodain for that matter for her to be a "fluent speaker/conveyer of the goddess's language/wishes"....
The plot was weak and not believable, like Malm's attitude change because Phoebe was about to die without the mating (no kidding!). A story with such potential had me bored, most of the time skipping pages. The inconsistencies were too much. Not to mention the language choices at times.
The book is in need of editing so much so that even I could see (I am not a native english reader). Same for the plot. More work on the first half and action would balance the action packed half of the book.
So why 3 stars? Because I like the idea that started this book and I think it could have been a great story. It stands out of the sea of alien kidnapping books bringing a new approach to an over used plot. I am happy not all authors believe that we must be kidnapped, used or dominated because we are the last resort for a dying alien species.
I will pick up the 3rd book in the series to see what Jalek has to go through but I am not in a hurry. One would expect Jalek to embrace the mating after being disappointed by Phoebe but knowing Mychal Daniels that will not happen so yes, I will take my time reading something else before Jalek.
Do I recommend the book? Again, yes because of the new approach but be aware of the slow plot and monologues. I have a feeling I am in minority with my rating and comments so you might enjoy it more than me.
Enjoyed the first book in this series and the second book is just as wonderfully written by MYCHAL DANIELS! Male is absolutely an alpha male who will have you cheering for things to work out for him even though he's trying so hard to keep away from his own mate. She's feisty and determined doctor who will become something more than either of them could have ever imagined. ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT AND SO RECOMMENDING THAT YOU PICK UP AND ENJOY IT TOO!! As for myself I'm going to see what happens next with Jalek !! So check out this whole series as it is worth every penny and brings you many moments of entertainment.!
I love a strong black woman tale. But this one was even better because they are mistakenly retrieved after and attack on their space station. They are attacked by an alien group who know Earth is off limits. When Dr. Phoebe who is the ships chief medical officer is injured and wakes in the magic healing solution that saved her life. Now she has to reclaim a life with the Olodian’s since they can no longer return home. The Olodian’s goddess has work for her to do.
This second book in the series was full of action and steamy romance with a side of what's going to happen next. I didn't like the female character much in the beginning as I felt she was full of herself but she did improve along with the story. The Goddess knew Malm and Phoebe were meant for each other but it was not an easy road to find each other. It does have a happily ever after.
OH book 2 of this series was just as captivating. I just cant put it down Mychal Daniels has a new die hard fan with her sci fi writing. I am so in love with what she has come up with in these books. I just cant wait for the next. This story is the second in command and the other earthian they rescued and best friend of Kyra.
“Phoebe, your name means Radiant One, and that is also part of the calling you have from the Goddess. Your radiance will light the way for us and reveal the darkness among us. With your gifts, things hidden for too long will be exposed and eradicated. Your unction with Malm will bring about a change in the foundations of government and life as we know it,”
Dr. Phoebe Brown loved her job but thanks to the incident on the space station she knows she is not going to make it she is pinned and telling her best friend to leave her was so hard. But waking up in a blue green fluid praying she doesn't drown is a whole new thing. It gets even more out of this world when Kyra explains what has happened to her and she just cant believe it till they walk in.
Malm Second in command of lord Torins fleet knows what is happening the minutes he sees Phoebe But he is determine to fight only the goddess when it comes to mating he has his own demons to fight and he can't put her through that. Until the healers tell him he must choose and do so now destiny must be meet one way or the other Life or death!
“Your fates are entwined. Either you mate or the Goddess must release the Radiant One back to the fate she was destined to have on Earth—death.”
“Mmm,” she moaned. “I thought that was just for food. I am not food, dear one,” he murmured against her lips. “I lied, all my Mmms are for you,” she answered. “I know,”
Another deliciously written sci-fi romance with sexy aliens and sassy human women. The cover is gorgeous and the characters are explosive on the pages! Its wonderfully written with great sex and the right amount of edginess that will leave readers satisfied. Malm is a bit thickheaded while Phoebe is spirited and never seems to give up. When these two finally let their passion take over, the pages just sizzle so much, I am surprised it didn't catch my ereader on fire.
If you love sexy aliens and sassy heroines with steamy dialogue and a well written plot, then your in luck! This book HAS IT ALL! I am SO glad I found this series and am looking forward to the next story.
I liked the tension and the suspense and incredible romance. I am completely in love with this series. Revived By Malm got a STUNNING FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Its better, sexier, and more fun then the first one. A MUST BUY BOOK!
So far I have found two great alien series that are enthralling from start to finish. Today I found the third. The plot is well developed, moving along at a brisk pace as it moves from one high point to the next. The characters are realistic, with strengths and weaknesses. The emotions shared by all the characters are not over done, as the story of Phoebe and Malin unwinds amid galactic battles and alien bad guys. If you want a story that keeps your attention and leaves you wanting more, grab this book and settle down for a good read. And guess what, there are two more books in the series! Let's hope for even more.
This is the second book in Author Mychal Daniels "Olodian Alien Warrior Romance" series. I picked up the first while searching for a different sci-fi romance book. I am sooooo glad I did. I am now hooked and will be reading her books as long as she writes them in any genre.
This book was well written; however, it could stand with a bit more editing. I love the Olodian warriors and would gladly go live on Olodia if I could have my own, blue eyes I think
This was an excellent read in this series. To see Malm and Phoebe's relationship develop the way it did was intriguing. To see Malm fight the mating pull and unction till he didn't have a choice was funny and interesting. It was great to see their acceptance of each other as well as to read on Phoebe's point of view of how she felt. The plot is thickening with these warriors and their journey back to Olodia, will they gather more information on who's helping Cordin, read on to find out.
I really enjoyed the relationship between Phoebe and Malm. I had already fell for him in the first book. I am so glad that the second book was his story. Watching him and Phoebe grow as people over the course of the book. I can't wait to get to read Jalek's story. Love this author. The next book can't come out fast enough for me.
This second story is as good as the first, the female is a refreshing change from the normal male hero. I am surprised that these character's are not more Alpha male in their thinking about women needing to be protected. Very nicely written by Mychal Daniels
A very worthy second book of the series, I found myself much more engaged with the world, I think it sometimes takes me a while to adjust to new worlds, rather than it being down to descriptive deficiencies! In fact the world building is excellent! The Olodians are fast becoming one of my favourite Alien races :)
Love the way the Author write this book it give me a view how the main character feels. If you love romance ,action and very sexy males this series is for you I can't wait to read the third book. Don't be afraid to buy this series is great and well written story
I am really enjoying this series so far, and expect to continue to like it in the third installment. The characters are well developed and interesting. The only negative would be the lengthy plot conversations in the midst of tense actions.
