Finding Love On Black Friday
On Black Friday, all's fair in love, war, and shopping...
Twenty-seven year old Aiden Crawford's been single too long. He says he's choosy, his friends call it being too picky. Either way, he just can't find a good, trustworthy guy.

Ugh, not my thing at all. I found the initial premise of gouging people for toys to be tasteless, and then Aiden and Todd went from strangers to I love you faster than the black Friday deals disappeared, turning from silly to over the top sweet.
What a way to finish my yearly challenge, with a whimper.

Total insta love
While I'm able to suspend belief sometimes this one didn't work for me. They declare love and foreverness on their first day together. There are a myriad of exclamation points used. On the plus side, I loved the description of Black Friday, since it's something I never do for these exact reasons.

Aiden went to a store with his friend Tracy on black Friday eve, that's what they called it. She wanted to get some toys they could sell for a profit later on and just made Aiden help with her dirty work. Aiden met a handsome man in the line outside the store. What could go wrong when you run into that same man while you're both reaching for the same toy?
Aiden is a sweet man. Tracy is a little out there and scary. Todd is a man too good to be true. The shopping on black Friday is a little crazy so you should be careful. I love how they met. It seems like a disaster waiting to happen but it was the opposite.

Just ok
I think the story was okay. Would have loved to see more than just a couple of days of them being together. Really needed an epilogue.

I liked the idea of strangers meeting in a mass shopping frenzy on Black Friday. I hated the execution.

Awwwwww!!! How adorable are these two!! This is one of those feel good books that make you happy and puts a smile on your face when you finish. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of these...

Y'all, I struggled. I needed a book with a day or month in the title so I picked this since I thought it would also give me a break from the heaviness of leftover from Girl On The Train which I just finished a day or two ago.
I gotta say, I didn't find anyone particularly likeable. Aiden's friend was especially abrasive to me. Part of the problem here is that we didn't have time to get to know anyone. This girl might have lots of redeeming qualities but we certainly didn't get to see any of them or even hear about any of them. I think she's supposed to come off as funny, but mostly I felt slimy - if you only have one female character, she's going to come off as representing all women (even though that's not what's intended at all).
The only thing we really know about Aiden is that he is an adorable gay who has been taken advantage of ... we guess? Todd is a handsome gay who has a nephew with cancer and seems to care a lot?
Their insta-attraction is believable-ish but their insta-love just doesn't ring true. I believe insta-love can happen (my parents got engaged in a matter of days of meeting, got married within three months and have been married for more than 30 years), but I didn't feel love between these two. I didn't really get to engage with either of them.
If I had a chance to talk to the author, here's what I would say:
Find yourself a good editor or a good writing group. There is potential here and if you love to write you should keep at it.
Don't use exclamation marks so much. Unless someone is shouting dialogue, I'd recommend not using them at all. Okay that's something to go over with an editor or a writing group because I'm prejudiced against exclamation points in stories. I also don't ever want to hear the word "stud" again.
Keep writing. Keep writing. Keep writing. Very seriously consider suggestions from people you let read your work. Ask them to give you honest, thorough information about their responses to your story and your "voice". This is terrifying, I know. One of the hardest things about writing is hearing criticism - don't let that stop you from writing. Find the advice that's helpful and true to you and use it. Then keep writing. Keep writing. Keep writing.

another sweet short from Devyn. i'm used to the faster pace that his men fall in love, this one was a bit too fast but in the theme of the story it was still fitting. the description of Black Friday was fun to read and only convinces me that i'm glad i don't have to battle through those!

Not bad
Not bad but not as good as other Devyn Morgan stories. We jumped around a lot. For example, at one point we were in an elevator then as soon as we got off the elevator, we were in front of the fireplace. Did the elevator drop us off right inside the apartment? No way of knowing.

I'm not into insta love...
...but this story was so damn sweet, super short but feel good sweet! I can't help but fall in love with this author.
"Finding you was the best Black Friday deal ever." Just, come on, that makes me want to fall n love on Black Friday!

Short and sweet
This very short story is an easy read. Goodness and love emerge from greedy commercialism. A bit too good to be true, it's magical.

I'm not a fan of instant love stories but I liked this one. It was funny as hell and made me smile.
