He’s not afraid to be a man… now he has to be a father – to a child that isn’t his.
Wearing the President’s patch for Back Down Devil MC comes with enough danger, but now Miller is waging a war of revenge on one of the most prominent figures in town. A man who wears a badge and who has turned his back on the club. What’s at stake goes far beyond the present and future… this is to settle a damaged past…
Because of one woman.
Ella never understood why Miller left her. Why he just disappeared into the night all those years ago, only to return bigger and meaner than ever. Years stripped them apart as she married Jerry and had his baby. But it’s all a lie. Her heart remains with one man, but how can she get him to accept her now…
All it takes is one moment to change everything. When Ella shows up to the clubhouse with a baby, Miller knows this is his chance to not only protect the one woman he’s ever loved, but to become the man he always knew he could be. While the baby staring at him doesn’t share his blood, Miller vows to share his love with the young life. The only problem… Miller must kill the baby’s father first. *** BONUS NOVEL INCLUDED! New release special! Included at the end of SAVAGE LOVE is OUTLAW REVENGE! ***
I liked Miller, Ella and most of the guys in Back Down Devil MC. I liked that Ella and Miller had a past, so when the I love you's came out, it didn't bother me how fast it was said. I actually liked Gaige in this story.
What I didn't like was the fact that/didn't match up to themselves in book one: 1. Gaige is nothing like he was in book one- which I was glad for but he was a completely different guy. 2. Jerry- he doesn't match to the devoted father he supposedly was in book one. In that book, when his kid is kidnapped he almost cried and he's upset and what not. In this book he hates the kid and never wanted it and wouldn't have anything to do with it. And it seemed like Jerry wasn't even there for the birth. 3. Miller seems to have a connection to Ella but in book one, you would never guess or have a hint of that. Which, you would think there would be a mention or tension between the two about it since they had a screwed up deal about her. 4. Where's the bracelet Miller bought Jerry's wife/baby from book one? That should have made it into this story. 5. Why does Jerry call Ella by this name instead of Anne? In book one she's referred to as Anne. And supposedly only Miller called her by her middle name of Anne when they were together ages ago. 6. Braine is still same sick and twisted guy as he was in book one. What I didn't like is knowing from his pov about his life before the MC. How the hell does he go from that to his sick and nasty ways? I don't get it- I hope his story comes soon. Though, I'm not sure I want to dive into his head. 7. Why is there never a mention of the kidnapping from book one on Ella's baby?
I really thought this one was poorly developed, written and plotted, and that's really a shame because I had been looking forward to a good story for Miller... just not this one.
My highest ratings in this whole series is 3 stars = I Liked It, but I thought the first books were better written than this one. There just wasn't the group cohesiveness from those earlier books.
Book One got me into reading this series a while back; it's included as a bonus at the end of this Kindle edition, and it's more worth the time to read, imho.
It was a struggle to not just dnf this thing. I had difficulty believing this was the same MC and the same together, gruff Miller that started out the series. Luckily, I got this book on the day it was free.
The dialogue: mostly, everyone just cuts each other off. Poor 'darling' (oh yeah, her name really was Ella) was constantly cut off by Miller and Jerry. And Ella's behavior at times was like a teenager, not an adult. I never really had a sense of how old she was, but I had the impression in previous books that Miller was at least in his late thirties, but probably in his forties. We just don't know because the author doesn't tell us. I don't remember any good physical descriptions of either character. I don't think we were told how long Ella was married to Jerry. Did she just sit in her house for years and then accidentally got pregnant? No job, friends, family, church in a small town like Frelen? No BFF from high school? Her parents were mentioned when she first was with Miller. What happened to them, since she was obviously a local... she should have known half the town, actually.
We never actually know exactly how many guys are in the MC except one statement that the patches in the meetings aren't the only ones... so not all patches can go to to 'church'? That's unusual. There seem to be plenty of Prospects, though, and that would lead the reader to believe it's a pretty large MC. Regardless, the only bikers Miller calls upon by name to do anything are a few, so who knows? There were members that had their own books (like Ares) that weren't mentioned in this book.
And all of those stupid 'darlings' (not darlin' like a regular guy trying to pick you up might say once or twice, but darling, like Cary Grant would say) reminded me of Kristen Ashley's bizarre dialogue every time I read the word - which was 67 times!!! 67 DARLINGS! Yeah, you can check this stuff easily with a Kindle. What biker says that at all, and that many times? It was simply bizarre reading... old-fashioned and schmaltzy.
Also, Chief Jerry just happens to have a bug out cabin in the woods (or found an empty one) right next door to the bug out cabin the MC has, and they didn't know it was even there???? Seriously? It's not that the action was lacking in that scene, but the grand finale just wasn't believable to me for that reason.
There's a big deal about bringing in Trev, but he doesn't do much. I guess that because his group was in Shay's book the author thought it would be good to bring in a super-bad-guy-biker, but she didn't follow up with any real purpose for him. Just filler...

This is one of my favorite MC series. I was so excited for Miller to finally get his HEA. LOVED LOVED LOVED him and Ella together with little Beck. So Good!! Can't wait for Blaine's book next~I have no idea how London is going to "pretty up" Blaine but after reading the ending of Savage Love, I'm all in!! ;)
As a fan of biker romances I'm always excited to discover series that are new to me. With this release, the seventh installment in the Back Down Devil MC series, the storyline may seem familiar but it's got unexpected heart in its depiction of a second chance at romance that quickly won me over and kept me enthralled while relishing the chance to experience the previous installments for the very first time. It's a story full of suspense and grittiness too as a friend suddenly turns enemy and rival clubs continue vying for power. It all makes for a compelling read that has made its mark in the genre.
Miller is the kind of hero who you can't help being drawn to despite his being rough around the edges. He's a strong-willed man, loyal to those he calls Brother, but his carefully laid plans are starting to crumble as his friendship with the sheriff is starting to fray at a time when outside clubs start making trouble. He's a lonely man too after sending the only woman to hold his heart away. Just as danger rears it's ugly head though his old love is back and in the middle of the danger he sent her away from long ago. Throughout the series Miller was a cold and commanding presence but here he shows a softer side as his heart comes home with Ella and her baby coming to him for protection. Long ago he thought she'd be safer outside of his world but her marriage to Sheriff Jerry put her right in the middle of danger. Being around baby Beck brings out a sweet and unexpected gentle side to Miller that pulled at my heart. He might not have planned on being a father but he takes his role as one very seriously and it was an endearing sight to see. Being around Ella brings out his protective side even further and sets him firmly on a collision course with Jerry that's been a long time coming and that can only end in bloodshed. Through it all Miller remains a deliciously dark hero who makes the best choices he can for his Brothers and for his town.
Ella thought her and Miller were meant to be together forever until he pushed her away from his dark and gritty way of life towards a supposedly safe place that was anything but safe. For years Ella lived a lie which left me frustrated as she settled instead of fighting for what her heart wanted. With Jerry's increasing instability her and her child's life was constantly in jeopardy but it took a near-death event to get her to leave. This catalyst led her back to where she was always meant to be and brought out a softer side to Miller that was sweet to see which redeemed her a bit. Her connection with Miller was sweet and sexy with their crackling banter and steamy interludes. While I wish Ella had been a stronger-willed heroine I did enjoy the unexpected layers she brought out in Miller.
From start to finish this was a fast-paced read with a compelling flow nicely balancing the romance and the darkness and grittiness of the MCs continuing war. This story is shrouded in grief at the start and revolves mostly around vengeance and retribution, but courtesy of one man reuniting with his lost love and finding joy in a child's smile, it also showed surprising heart. Amongst all the bullets and blood there were moments that put a smile on my face. There were also moments that kept me on the edge of my seat through the unexpected twists and turns. Though this book can be read on its own, as Ms. Casey does a fine job in blending past events with the present and reacquainting readers with previously seen characters, the overall experience will be richer seeing the MC evolve with all the outside influences to where it is now. It's a true Brotherhood with each member loyal to the other, willing to fight and die for each other. Each member is unique and brings something special to the story, particularly Blaine in this story as his banter had me blushing and laughing and who has a background story just waiting to be told. Fans of MC-themed romances will find this an enjoyable read with a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat while warming your heart. If you haven't yet experienced the Back Down Devil series, what are you waiting for?!
I loved this biker book with all of the hotness going on between Miller and Ella. Their story is of second chances. Ella had always been in love with Miller since he was her “first” and it didn’t matter to her that he was a member of a notorious biker gang who would eventually work his way up in the ranks of the Back Down Devil MC to become the club president. Miller knew that he loved Ella and wanted to make her his now and for forever but there was someone standing in their way and it came in the form of a do gooder named Jerry who would eventually end up on the other end of the law in the form of the Police Chief. Miller loved Ella enough to let her go when he realized that he wouldn’t ever be able to give her the kind of life that he thought she should have with the “normal” family and white picket fences. The mistake that he made was thinking that Ella would be able to get that life with Jerry.
Years later after Jerry and Ella married and after Ella became pregnant with Beck everything was falling off the track as far as her perfect life was concerned. Jerry had turned from good guy (if he ever really actually was) to the dirtiest cop around who was not above working illegal stuff with the gangs as well as neglecting and then finally beating his wife. After a major beating Ella grabbed Beck and ran to the one person who she knew she could trust to go to who would help her…Miller. Time was good to Miller. He never lost his edge with Ella and only became even hotter if at all possible. Miller would do anything for Ella but would he be able to love another man’s child? To what extent would Jerry go to in order to get Ella back and even if he could, would Miller let her go this time around?
This story was packed full of some pretty hot scenes between Miller and Ella, the suspense of wondering how things were going to shake out for the mc and local police, and some pretty funny banter within the mc especially when Blaine was involved. It was a nice break from all of the heavy stuff happening in the book to just be able to laugh a little and then get right back in the thick of things. If you like mc reads this is a definite book to read. You will not be disappointed. I am going to get my hands on some of the other Back Down Devil MC books now and see what else I have been missing.
This book was provided as an ARC by the author for an honest review.
I keep telling myself "NO MORE BOOKS" till I finish some on my TBR list...then another Back Down Devil book goes on sale and I just HAVE to buy it and read it right away. I am a sucker for biker romance and I've wanted to hear Miller and Ella's story for a while now. It was as expected...lots of violence with a big serving of steamy romance...good/bad cops and bikers who fiercely protect what is theirs. I will probably continue to purchase these books whenever they go on sale because they really are quite engrossing reads...just a few edit/typo issues which makes me think they hit publish a bit too quickly though on this edition (which also includes an extra book in the series...Gaige's story)
**** 4 **** "and baby makes for a new happy family" stars
the boys are back in town! things come to a boil in this book. things get started, things are set into motion and endings are made! miller and the rest of the club are having a hard time accepting the loss of one of their members. as president, miller knows he can't just sit back. they all want revenge but getting it won't be easy! join the club and miller as they set out for one of the break or make moments their club will have to endure! i loved this story, the struggles, the hardship. it's real as real can feel. i loved watching SOA, this series just takes me right back to that! 6 stars if possible.
I was graciously given an ARC of this book and although its the first one in the series that I have read I didn;t feel lost. The only thing I DID feel was that I need to go back and read them all!!!!!!
MC soap opera. former ally betrays the MC , . problem is the traitor is the police sheriff.... kills a trusted member. then beats his wife and throws his wife and baby into the street. it gets worse from there.
Best of the series in my eyes. We finally get Miller's story! As expected, Miller had a past involving a woman and she was the one who got away. Now Miller has a chance to rekindle his love with Ella but there are two things he has to rectify. Ella's husband is the man trying to take down his MC and Ella has his child.
This installment was really good and I totally loved it.
Fantastic book! Absolutely love this book Miller and ella are so great together couldn't put the book down so it was a fast read so many turns in this book I did not see coming I'm going to jump right into the next book . Oh and I loved having baby Beck in the book
This was an amazing story. Yes its full of love, serious feelings for the main characters, fighting for love, guns, fights between the police & the MC. Cannot wait to read the next installment.

London does it again with this book, this book is amazing. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't wait to see how it ended. This book picks up from the first one (I would recommend reading the first book so you understand what's going on) and you get the answers you were needed. You connect with Miller & Ella and some emotions will run high.
Ella's life isn't at all what she expected it to be. She wishes that she could turn back time and do some things over. Now she has a husband Jerry who is hateful and a son who she loves to death. Her heart belongs to another man and she just wants answers for that night. When Jerry decides that he is going to be nasty and hurtful to Ella - she decides it's time to leave. She goes to the one place that she has left and hopes that she doesn't get turned away.
Miller regrets everything he did that one night and not have Ella by his side. With him being the President of the MC he has a lot of responsibilities and he wants revenge for Griffin. He will stop at nothing to give Jerry what he deserves. When Ella shows up at the club, he feels it's his second chance to love her and keep her. Miller will stop at nothing to keep Ella & her son safe and will protect her with his life.
Miller's story so needed to happen. We needed to know what he was all about and how he was really inside himself. A dominant bad boy alpha male who has always loved one woman and it never stopped even when she left him. Now Miller & Ella have a second chance at love and neither of them will let anything ruin or come in between that. The connection between the characters is strong and you can feel it. The sex between them is just so hot & steamy. Most of all you see a love between two people that never stopped and now they will fight everything that comes their way just to stay together.
A really amazing story. WOW is just not enough for this book. I highly recommend.
Great job to the author on another amazing book. I look forward to more.
Miller, as President of the Back Down Devil MC, has been the prime focus of the Chief of Police of Frelen, Jerry. Just a few years before, the two men were friends. Before he began moving up in the MC, Miller was with Ella; in love with her and carrying a ring in his pocket to ask her to marry him. Miller was sent on what could have been a suicide mission by the then President of Back Down Devil. He knew that Jerry had a crush on Ella and asked him to meet with Ella and pursue Ella so that she wouldn’t be alone.
Ella didn’t know the reason Miller didn’t show that night that he asked her to meet him. Jerry moved into her life and offered her a stable relationship and home. Ella married Jerry when Miller moved on without her. As Jerry moved up in the Frelan Police Department, he and Ella became grow apart. Trying to save her marriage, Ella becomes pregnant, only to find that Jerry didn’t want children.
Miller visits Ella at her home and warns her about Jerry and the possibility that Jerry could become violent. Ella tries several times to speak to Jerry about a divorce but he finds out before she can break it to him and Jerry becomes physically abusive. Ella is given 5 minutes to take what she can and leave. She takes the baby and a prepacked bag and runs.
Miller and Jerry are now enemies; Frelan is the prize in their battle. When Ella runs to the Back Down Devil compound for protection, Miller takes one look at her battered condition and swears to kill Jerry.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
First, I want to say WOW, in capital letters. Previously, I had not read an MC book, I did not think I would be interested in that genre of romance. I was offered and ARC of Savage Love by the author for my honest opinion. Now, I have absolutely loved everything, and I mean everything I have read by Karolyn James, so I figured why not when I had the chance. I am really glad I read this book. A general synopsis: Guy loves girl, girl loves guy. Guy LOVES girl enough to give girl up because he thinks she should do better than him. This is what Miller did. Miller is the president of the Back Down Devil MC club. A group of motorcyclists that do not have that have a not so great background. Miller fell in love with Ella many years ago, and has never stopped. He gave her up and pushed her to Jerry, the police chief of Frelen. He wanted to make sure that Ella would have a better life than he could give her. He could not have been more wrong….. You really need to read this book to find out how Miller fixes what he set in motion all those years ago thinking he was giving Ella better life. Find out what happens to Jerry, and how he pays for ……. Nope, no spoilers from me. I just love the way London writes this story. The way she makes you care about what happens to all of the characters in the books she writes as both London Casey and Karolyn James. Thank you Karolyn for the ARC of this book. I have already bought a copy for my library. Thank you for reading my review. If you like MC stories, you will absolutely love this one!
Great read i was looking forward to Miller's story. Miller and Ella have history. Miller let Ella go years ago so she could have a normal save life. However that didn't turn out as he expected. She married Jerry and they had a child. I was surprised that Jerry does not want the kid as in book one he seemed the worried father. Jerry ends up beating Ella and she runs to Miller. From there the action just never stops. Miller still loves Ella. Ella still love Miller but she married to Jerry who's out to killer them all. Jerry needs to die for what he did and Miller knows it needs to be by his hands but how does he live with the family he now want's and the child who's father he has to kill. I did find that the series so far does have a few editing errors. But nothing that really takes away from the reading experience. I was so excited when i got near the end and learned it was Blaine's turn. As much as he and his weird sex talk has featured in the whole series. Blaine's story is the one i have been really wanting to read. I got a little peeved when finished though as it said there was a bonus story. I was like "yay more BDD" but no it was just book one again. Considering you really need to read these in order so you can follow the story. I felt really annoyed that it was book one that everyone would have already read, so it wasn't a bonus story to me.
I received a free ARC for my honest review, though I find myself buying everything this author writes. I love her writing style and how her stories flow so smoothly and draw you into the heart of the story. This book was no different, you have been introduced to the MC president in past books in this series but this book actually shows you how and why he is such a hard-*ss. He has a history with Ella that is complicated. Ella shows up at the clubhouse bloodied and bruised at the hands of her husband Jerry. Jerry is the Chief of Police and has been working with the MC groups smuggling drugs but things have gotten out of hand and he has started to turn on the MC groups. He shows up at the Clubhouse to get his wife and son back but Miller is not going to give them up to Jerry so easily he has always loved Ella and that love is only stronger now and he has taken a fondness to baby Beck as well. I have enjoyed reading all the books in this series though each one can be read as a stand alone you get the full impact of the story by reading each one as each book tells the story of a different member of the MC group. I look forward to the next book by this author.
So, I started off this series reading Viper's Kiss which is Blaine's book! Now, I have to read all the guys story. Miller's story had me really intrigued especially with Blaine asking what he asked all the time. Miller and Ella were once lovers until Miller walked away. What he thought was the best thing for Ella turned out to be the worse mistake of his life. Unfortunate circumstances lead Ella back to Miller for protection. Tension is high as Miller and Ella are hit with all the hidden pent up past feelings. It's not long before these two give in to those feelings and everything changes. Miller now has something/someones that matters to him and he'll do whatever it takes to protect them. I loved Miller and Ella's story. I love stories of old lovers recognizing their mistakes and having another chance to make it right and boy did they!? London Casey has a new fan in me! Now I'm on to start at the beginning with Outlaw Revenge!
I received an ARC from Karolyn James in exchange for an honest review & I totally & absolutely loved Savage Love (A Back Down Devil MC Romance Novel) by London Casey. It's the 7th book in the series so most of the characters are familiar. Miller is President of Back Down Devil MC & he's facing attacks from another MC & the local sheriff, Jerry, whose lost control of himself. Jerry had been working with the MC but suddenly turns against Miller & his brothers. He's also married to Miller's first love, Ella, who he gave up so that she'd have a better life than being his "old lady." Except Ella's life isn't better because she married Jerry who's ... Well, sorry, too much information! Can't tell you that so you'll have to go buy Savage Love and find out for yourself. I really enjoyed Miller & Ella's story & feel certain that there'll be more to come.
Miller, the president of the MC finally decides that he has to see Ella in person, but when he does, it isnt quite what he was expecting. Ella has been going through the motions for over a year now. Hard feelings and emotions have gotten them by for several years, but it is time to face those ghosts, find out the truth and move on with their lives. "...breaking fate and changing the path of so many lives". Sexy, steamy times ahead; Miller was Ella's first love and "She wanted him to possess her. To keep her as his own, have her forever". Will Miller make it out alive? Does Ella find out the truth of what happened? Does the MC make it out alive in the upcoming war? Emotional, gritty, drama with fantastic characters and realistic story, enjoy! I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The author once again created a tale of twists and turns, smooth character development, comic relief and an ending that will rock you out!!
All the characters in this book have been introduced in previous ones in the series. It made this book that much better because we knew what lead up to Miller becoming the President of the Back Down Devils MC. We knew what each supporting character's personalities were; we knew about Ella and her story.
As with all of the previous books in this series, this story was epic. I absolutely loved this story between Miller and Ella. Their love story spanned several years, and now it's finally coming full circle.
Please read this series in its entirety from book one so that you understand each of the characters in this story. You definitely will enjoy this MC Series.

Review for SAVAGE LOVE by London Casey I received this as a gift for an honest review. Miller, President of the Back Down Devil MC, is in a tailspin over the death of his best friend Griffin. Seems Jerry, the sheriff, has lost it and Griffin was the payment for that. They were in a war before, but it just got worse. Miller knows that Jerry needs to die and he has vowed it will be by his hand. His one regret will be Ella and her son, Jerry’s wife and child. Miller gave her up a long time ago due to his lifestyle, thinking Jerry the better choice for her, boy was he wrong. Not only is the MC in danger, but so are Ella and her son. When she comes to him for help, he takes them in and it escalates Jerry’s insanity. It is going to get a whole lot worse before anything gets better, but the MC and Miller always protect what is theirs and this is no exception.
I really enjoy books with MC guys and all that genre brings to the table.
London Casey is an author who knows how to write this genre very well. The men live an outlaw lifestyle, they love women and they love sex........their way. Nothing easy about loving them and their club and lifestyle demands absolute acceptance.
This book is about Miller and Ella. He loves her and would give her up to prove it. She was his and he wanted a life with her. He was supposed to meet her one night but it didn't go as planned. He gave her up with the belief she would live a better life without him. Nothing went as planned.
There are very explicit sex scenes and very hard core violence. If this is a "no go" for you, probably better skip the genre.
This is an awesome love story with unavoidable violence. An MC that decides there is only one way to right the wrongs.
I am so satisfied with Miller's book. This story was filled with steam sexy loving, a dark edgy suspense, and a sweet second chance at love romance. It was also loaded with grit, violence, and raw emotions. That is the best kind of biker romance for me and when flawless writing comes along with that package then I can get lost in the story from beginning to end. As usual, the writing just pulled me right into the thick of things but by far the best part for me was watching tough as nails, bad arsed Miller falling in love with baby Beck. So now I'm so ready for Blaine after watching him shine in yet another Back Down Devil story.
I received an ARC for an honest review. I'm a huge fan of Karolyn James but this is the first Back Down Devil MC book that I have read. Although it is part of a series, it certainly can be read as a standalone and it was easy to follow along with prior mentioned events. The author does a great job explaining characters and back stories to keep new readers in the loop. Miller is a strong character and in Savage Love, we see him vulnerable when his childhood love Ella and her son Beck are in trouble. The way he steps up and bonds with Beck shows just the kind of man he truly is. The book is exciting and keeps the reader engaged until the very last page. This is a sexy read with some very hot love scenes! I'm looking forward to going back and reading all of the other BDD MC books now!
