This book bothered me somewhat. The heroine (Estelle) was devoted to her religion and therefore believed in not only not baring her body but also no sex before marriage. The book started off with the heroine letting her new boyfriend Javier (hero) know this about her to her having oral sex with Javier, and then finally having sex. This made me kind of not so sure about the book.
What also bothered me is that book had many references to the Bible; there were Bible verses at the beginning of each chapter. Estelle debated the pre-marital sex situation at every turn in the story. However the book later goes into great detail about the sexual encounters with Estelle and Javier. This just did not really match this type of storyline. There was also the secret that Estelle needed to divulge to Javier that she felt did not complete go with her religious beliefs (you need to read it to find out what this is about). If the author wanted the Heroine so devoted to her faith she should have definitely left out the sexual encounters as well as the secret. And if she wanted the sexual romance then she should have left out the numerous references to the Bible and the numerous references to her faith.
It was because of the above reasons that I have this book 2 stars.
This book was somewhat a good read, the story of two people coming together was good, but I really didn't like the fact that she was a Catholic who believes in being bisexual. The bible tells us that God does not condone homosexuality, so if she was so into her faith she would have known that was not a good characteristics of God. We all live in this world but we are not supposed to be of the world. We are to serve God and keep his commandments. I enjoyed how she was 33 and still a virgin by choice. We have to be careful how we use the scriptures of God's word when dealing with worldly things. I enjoyed having God's word to read we should always study to show ourselves approved in his word on a daily basis.
This might have been a decent read if it had been properly edited. It was so poorly written that at times it read as if it were poorly translated from another language! Any excuses about the author being West Indian, or Caribbean ethnicity will not be accepted, as I am of that ethnicity, and it is still unacceptable. Pity!
