Annual Leave
Happily married, with three kids under six, a dog, and a house in the suburbs, Heather has all the trappings of a conventional soccer mom. She's also slowly losing her mind. Her husband convinces her to take a "momcation," three days at a sunny resort with nothing to do but sleep late, sip margaritas, and get work on her tan. It's a great plan, but it doesn't take into account Damon. Handsome, funny, and sarcastic he has an uncanny ability to get under Heather's skin, an ability that turns into the basis for an unlikely friendship and, maybe, just maybe, a whole lot more.

WOW!!!! And written by a man!
I am impressed! While reading this I started to realize this author has actually written...for anyone to read & get an insight into...so many married/woman/mommy thoughts that none of us would even admit to thinking, let alone writing.
And the crazy thing is.....its written by a MAN!!! How is this possible?
Loved the outrageous truth twist at the end!!

One of the best books I have read in a favourite genre.
Heather is thirty-two years old; she is married and a stay-home mum to three young children. As the story opens, she is about to leave on a brief vacation. Her husband, Jeff, has sensed she is worn out and in need of a break, and he has booked her three nights at a resort in Cancun.
This is the story of those three nights, of the man she meets on the way to the resort and of her affair.
Cheating on her husband is not in Heather's nature. She meets Damon on a shuttle from the airport to the resort, then again at a bar after she arrives. He is charming, cocky and gorgeous, and their banter is marvellous. Heather is up-front about being married and repeatedly states that she will not sleep with a man other than her husband.
Of course, she does. That's what we're here for. They fit a lot into their three days, and the sex is sensational.
This is also the story of Heather's return home to Jeff and of the effect her vacation has on their marriage.
Author Ben Boswell says in his introduction that he went into this book wanting to write "realistic fiction with believable characters and real emotions". I think he has done a great job, and I love that the story resolves in a believable, happily-ever-after ending for all.

I bought this book over two years ago and have read it a number of times. Each time I find it refreshing and I gain new insights into the characters.
Other reviewers have mentioned Heather's ("soccer mom's") fling with Damon, so I don't feel I'm giving away any secrets below.
One of the key ingredients to this story is the banter between Heather and Damon; it is fresh, revealing, insightful and continues to the end. Many authors start off with good humour in their books, but this one just keeps it coming. As a result, it's a really fun story from start to finish.
The story does shift gears for a few chapters in the middle as Heather tries to figure out how to deal with her indiscretion(s) with her husband. She is tortured, yet never really comes to terms with, or reveals her guilt. In the end, it's her understanding husband that provides the solution.
As one might hope, Heather does bring her newer sexual self back home to both Heather's and Jeff's benefit.
When I finish really good books like this one, I'm always left with the question: why can't married couples experience the same uninhibited, bawdy sex that's depicted in these stories? What is it that inhibits couples so? Is it the fear of being judged by your partner? Is it the fear that a lifelong relationship could be damaged? Or is it that New Relationship Energy, with limited consequences, overrides ones inhibitions? I'd like Ben, or one of Ben's group of authors, to write a story where a married couple reinvigorates their sexual relationship and brings that New Relationship Energy back into their marriage without the need for a fling, a Dom, or a Bull. I recognize this would be a real challenge, but I believe these authors have enough insights into married couples and their emotions to bring a book like this to life.
I really like Ben's writing because it is a little more raw than other authors. At the same time, he is remarkably thoughtful about the emotions and relationship nuances which are central to most sexual relationships, particularly married couples and their lovers. I look forward to reading Ben's next book.

Interesting..
Well, I hate cheating, that is, going behind your partners back but for some reason, I really enjoyed this book. Don't ask me why, I'm really not sure. I guess it's the standard of writing by Ben B, the banter between the wife and her holiday lover was great, as was the sex!! I found it weird that a husband would send his wife to an expensive holiday resort on her own but heyho, it's a fantasy story right so anything goes. Not sure about the ending, wouldn't do for me , but nevertheless, it ties all the loose ends..very enjoyable read.

Unique Twist On The Hotwife Genre
Boswell weaves a different kind of hotwife tale here. It must have been a labor of love for him as the story is well crafted and he sticks the landing. It’s also a surprisingly different story than his usual fare of darker themes.
A husband generously gifts his wife a four day momcation to the islands for a much needed break. He generously agrees to take care of their three kids all under five years old.
On her first day there she falls under the spell of a handsome black gentleman also on vacation. Initially she’s supposed to be his wingman to help get him get laid. Ben does a great job with their witty sexually tinged banter in the first third of the book.
Of course they quickly hook up and over the rest of her stay she finds her inner slut and experiences many new sexual firsts. And, of course, ends up “having feelings” for him. She returns home confused and torn whether to confess to her husband or not.
Now a couple of personal observations and thoughts.
1. The first three fourths of the book is not really hotwifeing because the husband is not involved and not even aware. So she’s actually just plain cheating.
2. I found it incongruous with her life as a wife and mother that she so easily acquiesced into cheating. Without much guilt or angst at all.
3. She never actually confessed or owned up to her infidelity.
4. Personally I would like to have seen her show more genuine love and respect for her husband and children. As well as at least recognize that it really was infidelity and make some atonement. (but then I’m not the author am I).
5. I think the very generous and loving husband should have been treated better by the author. He just kinda got “leftovers “. Actually, he was an insignificant part of the story.
But, having said all that, it’s a very well written story of a cute but average soccer mom having some amazing sexual adventures.
And oh yah, a unique twisty ending.

Although there is a cuckold component to this story, it's really is themed around a hotwife. A perfectly good marriage with a early 30ish wife stressed by being a mom focused on her kids, Dad encourages her to take an annual leave and relax. What happens to Heather during her trip is the meat of the story. She goes through a lot of self examination and widens her world considerably. But what will life be like when she returns home? I liked the story because it didn't follow the same plotline of many books in genre. Also Heather's character development and reflection was good. Finally the semi twist at the end (I did see it coming though) was not the standard. One note, the book had more edit/grammar issues than I would have expected from this author which kept the rating at 4. But I recommend the read if you enjoy the genre.

Ben Boswell is an always interesting author, especially since his books--especially the shorts--can deal with some of the darker elements of the lifestyle. "Annual Leave," on the other hand, may be Boswell most deeply felt book and even the most romantic--in its fashion. Heather is a stay-at-home mom who has reached the end of her emotional rope, and her husband packs her off for a four-day retreat to Cancun. Even before she reaches the resort, she's met Damon, and the two of them begin a flirtation (complete with Tracy-Hepburn banter) that reads both fun and believable. Of course they wind up in bed, and Damon opens Heather to sexual pleasures she's never experienced before. What separates Boswell's book from other sex-on-vacation stories is that the connection between Heather and Damon evolves into something more than meaningless sex, which causes Heather to examine who she is and what she's become. Heather's inner turmoil is the emotional heart of this novella, and Boswell keeps a tight grip on it; Heather can neither rationalize away what's happening to her nor take it too seriously. She loves her husband and family and life, but she's also in lust with this incredibly sexual man and enjoying her liberation from the good girl she's always been. Late in the book she describes the experience as discovering her sexuality, which both liberates and traps Heather as she tries to incorporate what she learns in Cancun with her life back in Dayton, Ohio. Probably the least artful aspect of this book is its title, which more or less gives away the store but is also not as true to the story Boswell's telling as it could have been. Heather is changed by the events in Cancun with Damon, and their story is the one that enthralls the reader. How it eventually works out is just icing on the rather delicious cake Boswell has served up this time.

Wow, where do I begin?
Ok,I decided to try another of Ben Boswell's books even though my previous experience found them to be a bit more crass and explicit than I am used to. This said, I enjoy his unique writing style and that unqualifiable something that it evokes..a sensation of being comfortable in your own skin and sexuality perhaps?
I am glad I chose "Annual Leave "because he really delved into the characters , fleshed them out and focused on the emotional connection that I crave as well as the psychological nuances of which he has excells. I loved the flirty banter between"soccer mom" and Damon .It served as foreplay that led smoothly to their very sexy,taboo,yet playfull relationship.And importantly, relationship it was.The whole storyline as it evolved to embellish on how this relationship affected her marriage and family life was well crafted and fulfilling.I still have a little unease with perhaps not the level of explicity so much as some of the terminology. Overall,fun,sexy and enjoyable erotic fiction!

I really enjoyed this book, it was easy to relate to. Alone, away from home and temptation enters the picture. Can you resist? Should you resist? Who will know? What will be the ultimate consequence? A story of discovery and exploration. Also another interesting ending. A thoroughly hot and heavy read!

I started reading it at 2:00 am. My thought was to just to skim over few pages to explore what is there. However later I found it was bad decision. Because I was not able to put the book down. And yes I missed night's sleep too. Get it completed by 9 am.
It's not easy to keep someone awake for a story at sleeping time. Well done Mr. Ben Boswell.
The author didn't tried to make rush in story unlike other adult fictions. I would appreciate this point. After all a good story is where human emotions show up. He properly created the scenario with attention to each and every minute details. The conjunction of emotion is depicted so nicely that while reading I found myself with characters.

I loved how this story developed. Heather, the wife needs to get away from the kids and responsibilities for a break, so her husband sends her away for the weekend. In Cancun, she meets Damon, a handsome black man. She is not looking for an affair and Damon tells her she is "not my type." And yet... The dialogue is great between the two of them and you can feel the walls crumble. That is not all. We follow Heather home and how she reconnects with her husband, including the internal turmoil. This happily ever after tale makes you feel like it really could have happened this way.

One of the best Hotwife books EVER!!!
I loved this book because it showed the woman's sexuality without degrading her husband! So many of these books show the husband as a fool or eveh worse & I end up closing it down, it just pisses me off. This book had tons of hot sex, intrigue and lot of touching moments. I even got a little chocked up at the end. Excellent work, keep it up. I read a number of your books & this one is by far your best work

Loved the story. I could really feel her and enjoy her adventures. The first part is awesome, the best. The second part was a bit less, but very nice still. The ending could be a bit more on par with the first half.
Overall, I highly recommend this title.

Truly, a fantastic read. The characters surprisingly had a lot of depth to them, and the spicy scenes weren't there just for the sake of having them. Each one became gradually raunchier as the typically more conservative wife fell deeper and deeper into a lustfull madness. Even better, the banter went from sarcastic to serious to heartfelt back to sarcastic. Entire chapters I found myself getting upset that Damon and Heather got to business in bed because I kept wanting to read them talking haha. Glad this appeared in my Amazon Recommended.
Also, I didn't mind the ending, but I see why others didn't care for it. It seems to... undo a lot of the stakes that the story set up for itself.

Boswell has made a new fan!
What a riveting story! As a man, I'm new to the world of erotica, and this was by far one of the better books I've read. Very believable characters and hot sex scenes. I didn't see that end coming! Highly recommended.

Wonderful Story
Much different than any Hotwife/Cuckold story. As you’re reading it, and enjoying it, there’s an undercurrent giving thoughts about how the three main characters got the whole story going. My guess was a little too strong, but it was a lot of fun reading through to the end and finding out the little detail that I forgot from early in the story.

This is a cheating wife story. That's not usually my favorite theme. They usually are rife with deception, lying, disrespect and humiliation. This one is different. That's why this is my absolute favorite of this venue.
It’s charming, loving, funny and a delight. The characters are full, rich, realistic and delightful.
The story is impossible to put down once you get into it.
The sex is volcanic and so is the choreography.
I love that it’s told from the woman’s point of view.
I wish he had told it from Hubby’s POV after she returned.
I think hubby got shortchanged.
He realized that he had been cuckolded and he set about having her repeat it every year. Very risky once you know Damon’s life style. STD’s are too prevalent. But this is fiction and that’s part of the license we give the writers of this subject. STD’s are not part of their universe.

What happens in Cancun stays in Cancun – or does it?
I loved every page of this book. It’s erotica, but the emotional aspects and self discovery are just as important as the (incredibly) hot scenes. This book is about a ‘mum-cation’ (a vacation for a stressed out mum) that turns into cheating and cuckolding, however it never touches on degrading/humiliation. Highly recommend it!

I really enjoyed this book.the sex was amazing.I really wanted things to continue just to see what was Heather willing to find out about herself.somehow I kinda of since the ending would be a surprise. Very good very believable story.Great writing.

don’t know what to say
I hate giving 5 stars, when one of the MC is a cheating heartless wife. This was one of the most selfish all about me women.
Why did I give it 5 stars, because it was that good. Mr Boswell penned a very moving, thought provoking story.

Good but unbelievable story to long winded
