I do enjoy a good BDSM but this ain't it. This story is more a mother daughter discipline relationship than lover relationship. I wouldn't classified this book as erotica at all. Beside giving the paddle and spanking ther is not much else :(

Wow, I have been on a reading terror! My BFF gave me three romances on Christmas and the must do assignment to finish them, in the order specified, before year end. She wants to discuss them New Year's Eve. What a wonderful selection! Just loved this highly erotic story of bossy Joanna and sassy Riley. There are many scenarios that may push your limits, but all will cause you to squirm with desire. The author, Claire Britain, certainly knows what will keep a reader damp, make that very, very wet. You will definitely not be disappointed in this book. Since this was the last of the sequence required by my friend, I strongly suspect she plans on much more than cuddling and snuggling tonight in front of the fireplace. The anticipation is as great as wanting to know what happens on the next page to Riley! XOXOXOs to Claire for such a titillating tale:)

I had a wonderful time reading this book! The relationship between Joanne and Riley was not always smooth but the journey was fantastic. Riley made me laugh out loud. She was so much fun. Joanne certainly has her hands full! And together they were special. I loved the supporting characters as well. I sincerely hope there may be a sequel. It would be great fun to visit the characters again! I received this book from Stormy Night Publications as an Advanced Reader Copy.

This author creates good characters but story structure is all over. I did enjoy the content but it could have been presented more coherently.

The book had a strong start but it became apparent that this is the author's first book towards the halfway point. As new characters were introduced, the choppy scene transitions were more pronounced and rushed as people would come and go in the span of a paragraph.

Something that really annoyed me was the excessive use of exclamation marks. It made the dialogue unnecessarily enthusiastic and eliminated individual character, reminding me of bad acting in what should be a good play. The characters were likeable but definitely had the potential to be more unique. Joanna and Helen are meant to be stern but when everything they say sounds like a joke, it's no wonder Riley doesn't take them seriously.

Also, someone's who's been in a coma for 3 days and intubated in ICU should barely be able to speak let alone joke as much as Riley did (just me being picky).

All in all, I'm glad I read this. It was good, especially considering this is the author's first and only book. There's room for improvement but I did really like the characters and would be excited for a sequel.

Basic bright but immature girl needs a loving but firm hand. I was looking for that kind of story when I got this book, but it just didn't work for me. I might have liked it better if it had been set on another world but being set in modern America didn't work for me. The world seems to be made up of subs and doms and doms for the doms even. I get a dom sub relationship at work or even in a romantic one. It was in every aspect of life in this story. Friends telling other friends to watch their language while watching a game in a bar. Poor Riley had pretty much everyone as her boss, at work at play everywhere it seems.
One reason I buy a spanking romance story is for the spankings. There were quite a few, but most happened off page. You know it happened because the spanked character thinks about their bottom afterwards or some other character says something about it.Very few spankings are described while they are happening. I took a while to get through this slow moving story.

I'd like to begin by saying that if the author or the author's mother is reading this, best stop right here.
This was one of the most pointless and irritating novels I have ever read, and I've read many a poor novel. The characters are vapid, the dialogue is repetitious and silly, and the plot - well, there isn't much of a plot. When Riley has her motorcycle accident I was kind of rooting for her to die. The spanking motif is way overused and just stupid.

Phew! If you are craving a good read involving quite the wild little brat and the disciplinarian that straightens her out with some OTK time.... this book is for you! The characters say one another's names a lot. Not sure why- but once you learn to skip over the repetitive names, you are going to get lost in a sea of submission. I enjoyed reading the pushback, begging, negotiating, and straight up rule breaking. Lots of steamy scenes and lots of corrections to be had.

It’s okay...but the spanking is bit too much as if Riley is insatiable for spankings. They bottom characters are also quite...child like. It is well written. The storyline is a bit unrealistic. But if you are a disciplinary spanker/spankee then this is a good book for you.

Now that was worth it

Excellent effort, believable premise and awesome characters. Only two things stand out. They didn't purchase Kate a riding suit or a helmet after the incident and Rosa didn't get to use her spoon.

This is the best kind of love story. The various couples from Riley/Jo to Helen/Kate and of course Rae/Tracy. There’s a discipline theme as well as a sexy and love theme. This is a 5 star winner and a must read.

No offense, but this book is highly unrealistic and makes me doubt the author's writing level. Reading this book reminds me of my own writing in grade 6. Also, this isn't BDSM. The lifestyle is much more than a dominant top and a wooden paddle. I'm surprised it's tagged as BDSM

I am highly disappointed but well, if a book like this could get published, maybe my own stories aren't entirely hopeless

Overall I enjoyed the book but there are some things that I find a bit too convenient. Basically more or less every female character from the housekeeper, doctor to Rileys and Joanna's friends are into or support spanking. In my opinion that is a bit too convenient, somebody should have been against it, at minimum her doctor should have been against it in her recovery period.

The other thing was the execs amount of alcohol consumed by Riley but also by her friend. It is mentioned by Joanna at the end of the book but nothing is done about it, that just leaves a huge part unanswered.

I really wanted to like this one. It had tons of potential, but ended up reading like a cliff notes version of what could have been a great story. The potential was there, but instead of getting into some emotional depth, it elected to fill space between disciplinary spankings with summaries of events.

Love this series! Not only is there fantastic chemistry between the two MCs, Riley & Joanna, but the stories are both fast moving & actioned packed. The supporting characters are awesome & get a fair amount of attention during the book. Riley is a scream! This is a must read & don’t forget the sequel, “Riley’s Reckoning”.

I don't mind a little kink, but in all honesty both Helen and Joanna were more like mothers then lovers. For so many words, this should have had a whole lot more erotica and kink, not all this mother type nurturing.
