Chasing Destiny

Rate this book
When curvy Destiny tells Carter she is accidentally pregnant, she doesn’t expect him to be thrilled. After all, they haven’t discussed any kind of future, and children have never come up. She could handle his shock and dismay, but is unprepared for his accusation that she cheated on him. Leaving New York City and Carter behind, she returns to her hometown to figure out what to do next. Meanwhile, Carter has discovered he made a huge mistake and goes after her, but she refuses to return with him to the city. He’s determined to wait her out and settles into life in small-town Kansas as he works on wearing her down and earning her forgiveness. Can he ever make up for the things he said and win her back, or will he futilely chase Destiny forever?

Destiny tells Carter she pregnant and he goes straight to gold-digger accusations. She flees for herself and her baby only to be followed later by a sorry Carter. This was a ride in watching the two of them find out about each other and themselves.

Narration issues about caused me to end the read early. I was aggravated by the fact the it could have been better. The narrators efforts did not match that of the writing. It was trying and the narration was a let down.

3.25 Stars. (BW/WM). I enjoyed listening to this little over 2 hour audiobook narrated by Sasha Taylor. A well written book with good character development of likable characters in a romantic relationship that causes the reader to root for their happy ever after. Destiny and Carter Winslow have been living together for a short will when Destiny discovers that she’s pregnant; but instead of forthrightly telling Carter that she’s pregnant, she drops hints to which he is unresponsive. When she does tell him, he responds badly...accusing her of infidelity and trying to trap him into marriage and finally demanding that she get out of the apartment. Destiny is devastated and leaves New York for her home town in Kansas; what she doesn’t know is that Carter has been thought to be made sterile from chemotherapy and radiation treatments he had as an 11-year-old boy battling osteosarcoma, a form of cancer. After talking with a friend and calming down long enough to reconsider his harsh and hurtful initial response, Carter gets a sperm count that assured him that he is fertile. He moves to Kansas and earnestly Perseus Destiny and her forgiveness, ultimately, he wins her back, they marry, he becomes, mayor, they becomes parents and have a happy ever after in their future. Cute story.

Good story

It's unfortunate that people assume instead of asking (making an "ass" of "u"' and "me"). Also, think before you speak. Destiny and Carter almost lost each other for lack of communication. Had she not left and reluctantly gone home to her "one-horse" town she may have never gotten Carter to come around. Of course, it was a good thing the talk with his friend gave him something to think about. This story had some surprising revelations.

The title says it all...
A quick read that I'm assuming sets you up for the next book but I can't say that this one was intriguing enough to make me want to read the next one. It wasn't bad...it was just okay.

The book started a bit slower then I expected but it had a cute happy ending and it was fun to watch them build and repair their relationship.

Two stories for the price of one. Both stories are strong 3.5 stars but lose .5 stars because they are short and one has a cliffhanger of sorts.

Chasing Destiny - Destiny accidentally gets pregnant (yes, that can happen birth control is not 100%) but when she is honest with Carter he automatically thinks the worst. Now he must own up to some of his secrets and so does Destiny. Will they stay together or fall apart? Deals with interracial issues throughout the story.

The Billionaire's Baby Surprise Serial - Cute quick story. Deals with interracial issues throughout the story.

I really enjoyed this story. It was written with excitement and suspense. I was surprised when Carter told Destiny to leave and on top of that she left. I did like the fact that Destiny made Carter prove his love. It was a twist when they decided to stay in the little town and be happy with the people and the lifestyle. Carter will make a great mayor. I received the second book as a ARC member, but I had to read this one first to understand the story behind "Daring Karma". I hope you add more to this story later.

The chase is on!!! Great story. Destiny quickly comes to terms with moving on without her baby's daddy. Carter is a billionaire that has hardened his heart due to gold-digging woman. If a man loves a woman, how far is he willing to go to get & keep her....grab the book & see for yourself if Carter is up to the chase.

Ah such a cute little story

Cute little story not that many hangups. Just sweet and simple and to the point. Enjoyed it over reading nonsense in drawn out stories with run on sentences. Entertaining

I was very happy to see that this story had a strong woman who decided to take care of her baby alone and when circumstances changed made the father work for her love would recommend

Interesting

Well written. All the elements of interracial coupling, with all the baggage that comes with it. Worth all four stars
