Love is often elusive, hard to find and even harder to hold on to.
Caley Rogers knew that from a young age.
When Joey Sanders walks into her life, she thinks she's finally found the love she has so desperately been seeking.
Five years, a marriage, and a child later, Caley realizes her mistake. Trapped in a life with no love at all, she seeks out an old friend who quickly becomes her confidant.
Ethan Blake has loved Caley for years. When she reenters his life one random night, he never expects more than friendship, but after weeks of secret meetings and listening to Caley's confessions of a loveless marriage, the unthinkable happens. Ethan and Caley finally share their true feelings for one another.
Now, they must face the consequences of their emotions--dealing with not only the uncertainty of their situation and Caley and Ethan's guilt, but also with the end of Caley's marriage to a man who isn't ready to let go.
Love is more than just an emotion. It's more than a single word. To Caley and Ethan, it's everything.
Two immature little assholes with a baby, treating each other like shit while sneaking around cheating on each other through the entire story, until they get caught and finally divorce so they can be with their cheater partners. The end.
Why the hell do I keep reading stupid, meaningless shit like this?
Ooh. Slightly different to my normal read, but still thoroughly enjoyable. The story follows 21 year old Caley who is stuck in a loveless marriage with her childhood boyfriend, Joey, and their 6 month old daughter. Caley who stays with Joey purely because of their daughter, strikes up a friendship with an old school friend, Ethan. One thing leads to another and Caley finally decides, with Ethan's help, to take charge of her life. Easier said than done with a controlling husband and a mother that ignores her own daughter's feelings. Ethan is adorable, at 19 he is wise beyond his years. Wonderful story about true love.
It is not your normal romance book since there is cheating happening....some people like it, some don't, regardless of your view you will love this book!! I can't give it justice with a review so I won't attempt to. If you like other KA's books...you will LOVE this one for sure!
This book was great! I couldn't stop reading it! Caley and Ethan were great. I kinda felt sorry for Joey at first but I get it! I have lived this book in a way and could totally relate to her!
I've read quite a few of this author's other books, but when I got an email about this book, I knew I really wanted to read it! I absolutely loved the cover and the synopsis sounded amazing, so I signed up for the Blog Tour! After reading, I have to say that I liked his book, but I didn't love it anywhere near as much as I was expecting too! I just found the plot a bit weird and unrealistic! I mean, the main character messages an old friend on Facebook and admits everything that's wrong with her life! I just found that completely unrealistic! She then starts meeting up with the guy and ends up leaving her husband and starting a relationship with the guy she spoke to online! I mean no disrespect towards the author on my thoughts, but I have to be honest with how I feel about this book! I did enjoy some bits of the plot and the hot scenes were really hot! The characters were great! Caley was the main female character, and she was someone who hadn't had any attention from boys, so when one boy did pay her a bit of attention, she ended up married him and that marriage later turned out to be the worst mistake ever! I did feel sorry for Caley because she was broken and she didn't have any confidence, but I also wished that she would have grown a backbone and did what was best for her and her daughter! I also didn't like that one minute she didn't want to leave her husband for the sake of her daughter, but then the next minute she left her husband for the sake of her daughter! It just confused me! I liked Caley though and I was happy that she started to become more confident and happier as the plot progressed! Ethan was the main love interest of Caley, and Ethan was a very honest and upfront guy! He tried to help Caley with her situation with her marriage and he gave her really good advice! Ethan was also really hot! He was also trying his hardest to support himself and have a good career! This made me have a lot of respect for him! Ethan was also seriously hot with Caley and I could see that he had genuine feelings for her! He treated her like a guy should treat a girl and he helped Caley get her confidence back and he showed her that looks and weight weren't everything! I loved that this book was written from both Caley and Ethan's point of views! I wasn't sure if was going to be, but it added a lot to the plot and helped me connect more with both characters! I can completely understand why this book is a standalone! Everything in the plot was wrapped up and the ending was left at the perfect place! Even though I didn't really enjoy this book, I am excited to see what this author releases next! I've loved all her other books that I've read, so I can't wait to read more from her! The cover for this book is stunning! I loved it as soon as I saw it and it made me want to read the book even more! I bet it looks even more stunning in paperback! Thank you to K.A. Robinson for having me on the Blog Tour for Elusive Love!
I love when I haven't read an author for a while and then I pick up their new book and fall right into it and feel like I am home !! I have been a K.A. Robinson fan since the days of Drake, I always enjoyed the angsty feel to her stories and the younger ages of her characters. They are easy enough to relate to because we have all been there and made some of the same dumb choices yet they are old enough to also have some ADULT responsibilities that we may have in common. In this story we have a few struggles that I feel were very common and easy to relate to. Caley and Joey have been together since high school and now in their very early twenties they are unhappily married with a young baby. Caley is not only having some post partum issues but Joey has treated her poorly enough over the years to bring her self esteem issues back to the surface. An old friend comes back into the picture and Caley realizes the issues in her marriage are never going to change so maybe it is time that she changes something bigger. Again these struggles are common and although Caley did a few things I frowned upon I could understand her. She is confused and hung up on staying together for her child. She stays in the hopes of having those blissful times they have had every now and then and she doesn't think there is any other way to be. One drunken Facebook session with her old friend Ethan changes things and sets her on the path to bettering herself and her daughter's future. Nothing ever goes as planned , nothing ever stays innocent even with the best intentions. At times I felt for Joey but that quickly changed when his true colors shown through. The end felt a little rushed , I would have loved more of the after but I did enjoy the quick read and the K.A. Robinson feel !! I missed her...
I absolutely loved Elusive Love by K.A. Robinson. This book was a nice changed from what I have been reading lately. It is a standalone novel and a pretty short read but well written.
Caley Rogers has been married to a Joey for the last five years. She hasn't been happy in her marriage for quite a long time but sticks with it because of her daughter. She has always had such a low self esteem and doesn't think she is worthy of finding someone else.
One night after huge fight with Joey she messages an old friend from high school and they start talking online. She goes and meets up with him and old feelings come back and she isn't sure how to feel about it. She isn't happy in her marriage and thinks it's best to stay together for the sake of their daughter but the more time she spends with Ethan she realizes that she may be in love with him. Will she stay with Joey or will she decide to leave him so she can move on and find her own happiness again?
Ethan Blake has liked Caley since he dated her friend in high school. Hewas devastated when Caley stopped talking to him and is quite surprised when he finally hears from her again. He becomes her go to person for support when she is struggling to keep her marriage together. The more time he spends with her the stronger his feeling for her get. Will he be able to convince her that she deserves to be happy?
I loved the connection between Ethan and Caley. I really enjoyed the emotional rollercoaster this book tooke me on. I would have liked a further look into the future of these two characters but overall I did enjoy the story. I can't wait to see what K.A. is working on next!!

An all consuming riveting read!! K.A. Robinson captured my heart and emotions as she tugged all the heartstrings in this heartbreaking, poignant and touching love story. Elusive Love is a book that transcends our hearts and minds as it makes readers understand that there is no perfect love story. But what makes a love story so memorable is the way it grips your heart and Elusive Love is a story that gripped me right from the opening pages. This is no ordinary love story. It is about heartbreak, betrayal, compassion, sadness, hope and second chances. I don't think the book could be properly reviewed because this book is a story that needs to be read as you are immersed with an overflowing of raw emotions. Readers need to experience every fiber of emotions in order to feel the love, despair, and tangible bond of its characters.
I spent in one sitting devouring Elusive Love. It captivated me from the beginning. A page turner that I highly recommend to all friends to lovers fanatic.
I LOVE K.A. Robinson's writing so much! And I can say this honestly, I never know what I'm going to get with her, as she always comes up with new concepts in her writing, while taking it up a notch.
Caley Rogers has always been shy, with no self esteem. She only sees what she perceives as flaws in herself. So when Joey Sanders walks into her life, she grabs him up, thinking no one else will ever want her. They get married, have a child, and 5 years later, she's trapped in a life with no love. Ethan Blake has secretly loved Caley for years, but she never saw him. When she messages him out of the blue, he becomes her sounding board. After weeks of reconnecting, they finally admit their feelings for each other, but there's still the big problem of her being married.
I can count on one hand how many books I have read with women in a bad marriages finding someone else while still married, but I can honestly say that this author did an amazing job with a sensitive subject, and made it beautiful. The character development is great, with a well written, emotional story line that flows very smoothly. K.A. Robinson is very talented in captivating me cover to cover, and bringing out my emotions like I'm there in the story. I can only hope that she writes another book with Caley and Ethan, as I would love to read more about them. Elusive Love is an amazing story about second chance love, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

☆☆☆☆ 4.5 STARS Stars ☆☆☆☆
Elusive Love is sweet and a bit emotional. This story is not at all what I expected, it was so much more. Ethan and Caley were so cute and sweet together, I couldn’t help but want every bit of happy ending for them. These two were so young, but so wise beyond their years. At times I had to remind or ask myself, are they really not in their 30s? And Ethan, wow. He was so smart, sweet, caring and so full of love. Ethan had an intelligent mind for such a young man, he made everything and anything possible for Caley. Ethan became Caley’s rock and so much more, every meeting, every text was thoughtful and sweet. I completely understood what Caley and Ethan had gone through, the love and the care they had for each other was very much felt.
For anyone who wants a sweet quick read, this is it. Believe me, you will fall in love with Ethan.
I received a complimenty copy of this book through Crazy Cajun Book Addicts for an honest review.
This is the first book I have read by K.A Robinson and I thoughly enjoyed it. Caley and Joey have been together since high school over the last 5 years they got married and had a beautiful baby girl but things between them are anything but happy they have quite a volitile relationship and Caley is very depressed and down on herself she feels scared she will be left alone if she leaves her husband she also wants her daughter to grow up in a united family. Ethan is Caley's old school friend although they haven't spoken over the last few years, but one message is about to change all that. I really felt for Caley whilst reading this book she had such a low opinion of herself which certinly wasn't helped by her husbands remarks but I loved how she became stronger and started to stand up for what she really wanted from life. A great read and I will be reading more books by this author.
This book was beyond my expectations. I'm a huge K.a. Robinson fan so when I heard about it I couldn't wait. What touched me so much about Caley's story was her feeling of worthlessness. We've all had moments in our lives where we haven't felt beautiful enough, smart enough or just enough. Caley hides her true feelings until she randomly stumbles upon an old classmate on line. The two slowly rekindle a friendship. They soon both realize they were meant to be together. Yet they both have responsibilities. Will Caley finally allow herself the happiness she deserves? Simply Loved it
Overall the story was more good than not. What bothered me the most is that Caley goes on and on about how cruel and emotionally abusive Joey is, but I really didn't feel that from their conversations throughout the book. I mean, yes- he's a d-bag. But I feel like he kinda got a bad wrap because Caley had such low self esteem.
I do appreciate her relationship with Ethan. How they connected seemed a little weird to me and maybe rushed, but you could feel their genuine love.
I was excited to see a new book by this author. All of her books have been amazing. This one was not as good as I was expecting but it was still ok. Ethan said he was in love with her since he was sixteen but she said they didn't really talk much in school. And for Joey to act like he wants to make his marriage work when he was screwing around on her for a long time. I don't know I just wasn't feeling this book. But overall it was ok.
If you like cheating then have at it. I can't stand it and it turned me off. I also did not like the timeline. Everything moves at such a fast pace, but the characters spoke and acted like it was an eternity. I guess that is 20 year olds for you, always acting like they have the weight of the world on their shoulders! I liked the writing style so I will give this author another chance.
When I read the plot to the story I really wanted to read it despite feeling disconnected to this authors prior books. This book could have been better than it was. I felt like the dialog and the characters were forced. I didn't really feel connected to anyone in general. I don't think personally I'll read more of this authors books because I think they are written poorly.
Elusive Love is a standalone book by K.A. Robinson. Interesting storyline on a very real topic that alot of couples deal with. Loved the twists and turns that had me hooked from the beginning. The characters were well developed and had great chemistry.
Good read about finding yourself and second chances!!! Caley was in a loveless marriage with her high school boyfriend, whom she felt she deserved, never truly loved him. Then she reconnects with Ethan, a friend from high school, years laters, only to find REAL love...
I love K.A. Robinson's books but this was not one of my faves. I liked the concept of this book and the characters created but for me something was missing.
