AntiHero
An invisible boy fading beneath society's ignorance... A preacher's daughter struggling to find the balance between expectation and herself... A confused teen trying to make the most of his broken life... After losing everything he held dear before the age of ten, second-year high school senior Colby Dixon's life has been an endless, downward spiral. With only his wacky friend, Sawyer, his abusive mother, Grace, and his taste for alcohol, his focus is anywhere but on his home life, school, or future. However, one wintery night a fluke finds its way into Colby's life and changes everything he's ever known. But all good things must be balanced with bad and the more Colby strives for a better life, the more adversity he's met with. Now he's faced with the hardest decision of his life: does he continue on with his boring, wasted life knowing it's safe and secure, or does he risk it all for a chance at happiness? A coming-of-age love story between a lost soul and a fluke that was never meant to exist. Together, they will try to help one another find their place and learn to cope with the lives they've been dealt. Without one another, they will surely fail. In the end though, everyone must learn to stand on their own two feet. But that would take a true miracle, and those aren't real.

AntiHero by J.M. Fibelkorn is the kind of book you get lost in. You find yourself staying up to odd hours of the night completely enraptured in the world the author has created. Your heart does summersaults as the story progresses and Colby slowly blossoms into a well-rounded teen who no longer looks at the world in angst filled black glasses. The author pulls you into Colby’s world of teen disenchantment that can only come from a childhood full of neglect and broken promises. Despite the overall embittered attitude the book starts with, it morphs into one of hope and salvation. This book is filled with psychological twists that will leave the reader reeling along with Colby. And in the end the reader is allowed a glimpse into what a miracle looks like and how one person can change someone entirely if they just take a chance and allow their heart to be touched.

AntiHero was a rollercoaster ride of a novel. I finished this book within 3 days, partly because I, of course, have a life and responsibilities I must attend to, but mostly because I did not want to put this book down. Every time I thought it might slow down, suddenly the reader is pulled a different way and jerked into another whole new emotion. If you want a simple read, this book will not interest you. However, if you want to love characters, hate characters, smile, cry and just be outright wanting to get lost in a novel, make AntiHero your next read!
The author does a splendid job of making the reader feel for every character that is in this novel, whether it be absolutely loving one to wanting to rip ones head off. There are many characters to cherish in this story and each one represents an important message. There is definitely character growth throughout the novel, you will not find a boring part in any of the paragraphs well written to always grab the readers attention.
I have had no problem recommending this book to family, friends, co workers, and anyone who is a book lover. With more advertisement, I believe this book could be a top seller, with characters that stay in mind like any other novel a true book reader has read.

I had a blast following Colby's evolution through his senior year. The story grips you right from the start and never lets go. We all need a Daye in our lives!
