Anastasiya Petrov ran from her fate. The youngest of seven sisters and promised to one of the Princes of a rival pack, she refuses to be a bargaining chip. Instead, she flees to a remote area in the United States, changes her name to Tasia Connor, and settles into her new life.

Alex Chilikov might be an Estonian prince, but he was raised in the United States and loves it here, especially Woodland Creek, Indiana, where he's followed close behind his bride-to-be. She might be able to hide who she is from the others, but he'd recognize her scent anywhere, and he plans to use his trickster abilities to help him obtain what he wants. He wants out from under his own father's heavy thumb.

However, he's not the only one searching for her. Her father has made some dangerous enemies, and though she continues to attempt to escape Alex's protection, he'll fight to keep her safe. Tasia will risk almost anything to keep her freedom, but only if she can resist a Wicked Jackal.

My writing journey started with an old fashioned typewriter. When my family brought it home, I knew what I wanted to do. All those stories rolling around in my head could finally get out. The press and click of the keys were satisfying in their own right, but when I pulled out a finished page, I knew this was for me. Since then, I 've graduated to a laptop, but the stories still find a way out.

I'm a breast cancer survivor, a teacher, a wife, a mother, and a writer. Nowadays, I strive for less procrastination and more tact. The battle wages on.

I received an ARC of "Wicked Jackel" from the author, in exchange for an honest review.

What a ride, this was my first book from Cherie Marks, I went in there not sure what to expect, but what I read was far better. 'Wicked Jackel' is Cherie's installment for the "Woodland Creek" collection, a collaboration of 30 authors all writing about 1 little town in Indiana USA, I was intrigued with the concept behind this collection.

What a ride Cherie takes us on with this, from a runaway princess, a prince on the hunt, shifters & secrets, lets not forget the mafia too... I wasn't able to stop reading. EVERYTHING flowed together so well. Tasia & Alex's situation was a fun suspense filled read, especially near the end, when secrets are revealed.

Cherie drew me in with this story, I need to read more from her, also I can't wait to read what the others have written for the "Woodland Creek" collection.

Wicked Jackal is one of the installments in the Woodland Creek series, a collaboration of 30 authors, who each wrote a shifter story. I particularly enjoyed this novella. It has some hot and steamy scenes, but it also offers an intereresting story and intriguing protagonists.

After running away from her fate of getting married off to a Prince of a rival pack, Anastasiya changes her name to Tasia and settles into a new life at Woodland Creek, Indiana. What she doesn’t know however is that her supposed husband-to-be has followed her there. Unfortunately Alex isn’t the only one who is searching for her. Her father made a lot of enemies, and Alex is determined to keep Tasia safe, which becomes very complicated as Tasia values her freedom above all… But can she keep on resisting him?

I loved both characters, and their chemistry was undeniable. The writing was great, and the story was fast-paced and engaging. Fans of shifter stories will love this.

Wicked Jackal is a combination of PNR, romance, royalty, mafia, intrigue, and suspense all working together to create a thoroughly enjoyable story. The main characters are likable, the story flows smoothly, and it held my attention from the first page to the last. This is the first book I've read by Cherie Marks. I look forward to reading more of her stories in the future. I highly recommend reading Wicked Jackal. Even if shifter stories aren't what you usually read, I think you will find this book thoroughly entertaining.

The youngest of seven sisters Anastasiya Petrov has been promised to a prince from a rival pack. Well, Ana wants to live her own life and do things her way. Ana makes plans to leave and go to live in the United States in a little town called Woodland Creek. When Ana arrives in the United States she changes her name to Tasia Connor.

What Ana/Tasia doesn’t know is that her future husband Alex Chilikov, an Estonian prince has been sent to find Tasia and keep her safe. Alex has lived in the United States for a while now and loves it, especially Woodland Creek.

Alex is not the only one looking for Tasia. No, her father has made some very bad investments or dealings with the wrong kind of people and now some mafia-like dudes are searching for Tasia. Alex is determined to keep Tasia safe no matter what it takes. He will not let anyone hurt her if it is in his power to do so.

Wicked Jackal kept me on my toes trying to figure it all out as I raced to the end. I couldn’t stop reading as I had to know exactly who these men were who were looking for Tasia and exactly what they had to do with her father. What kind of deals did Tasia’s father make with these guys to have them flying all over the country looking for his daughter?

So many questions that kept me wondering what was happening. Wicked Jackal is a very engaging story with enough suspense to keep you hanging on for more. It also has plenty of romance with some pretty steamy scenes for the romantic at heart. Awe, mystery, suspense, romance, and some pretty hot scenes what more could you ask for in a good romance story?

I highly recommend Wicked Jackal to all romance and mystery fans! Grab a copy of Wicked Jackal and start the adventure!

This was a fun one! It was also a little heart breaking. Anastasia doesn't want an arranged marriage by her father to keep allies with another pack of Jackal shifters. So she runs right before her wedding, from her family, her pack, and her future husband. But her father sends her future husband, Alex, after her because he's a bounty hunter with excellent tracking skills. But it's not for the marriage parts, it's because some very bad people are after Ana's family, and they will use her for leverage. So, Alex is to hide her and keep her safe. But Alex doesn't want marriage, he just wants to bring Ana home. Except when he meets her, he can't help but falling. And Ana just wants freedom to choose her own path in life. The characters were excellent and I loved the author's writing style. The story was also very well done. Romance, intrigue, action, suspense, mystery. It had it all. And it's also one of my favorites from the Woodland Creek series. I must say, it turned out different than I thought it would. I thought I would hate Ana's father, when I found some things out, I ended up siding with him. Though I totally thought he went about it wrong, he had good intentions. LOL And I loved Alex's brother, who cracked me up. And Ana and Alex, even when they clashed, were perfect for each other and I loved their HEA. It was heartwarming! so 5 Jackal PAWS!

Wow! Another amazing story from the Woodland Creek series of 30 different authors :) This was my first book by a 'new-to-me' author, but it will not be my last! An awesome must read full of intrigue, surprises, great characters & dialogue, with a different storyline to keep the reader engaged. This is a romantic suspense page-turner that will satisfy any reader, not just fans of PNR, and Ms. Marks knows how to turn up the heat between the H/h, Tasia & Alex ;) Once I started reading, I did not want to put it down! Even tho I won the chance to read this in exchange for an honest review, I really loved it & highly recommend this to all fiction readers! I can't wait to read more from this talented author :D

Wow ! What a great introduction to the Woodland Creek Series. Cherie Marks has created a fantastic story. This book has lost of intrigue, secrets, very bad men, a strong female character who is not afraid of life. Ana I on the run from an arranged marriage. She is the youngest of her princess sisters. Alex is her intended groom, sent to protect her from herself and the Russian mafiya. How do you protect someone who has no clue they need it? Can Alex change Ana's mind about being his bride. Will any of them survive the evil headed there way? This is must read at 5 stars.

Jackals, tricky & hot & sexy. Oh yea, and stuck with one for a while with no one else really around? Who can get it done? That’s right a sexy jackal. When Tasia goes on the run and thinks that she is hiding out, she only knows half of the truth. Alex is a steamy hunk with a few tricks up his sleeves. I really enjoyed Alex and Tasia. Both were not who the other expected. And the anticipation of the reveal was well crafted in the story. Wicked Jackal certainly lived up to its title in both the characters and the story. It was a savory and delightful read.

Loved both characters of Alex and Ana\Tasia from the beginning of this novella. A little steamier than my usual reading material. FULL REVIEW TO FOLLOW
