Taken. Whisked away to hell. Forever bound to a monstrous god. This is seventeen-year-old Gabrielle Fiori’s fate. It’s everything she’s ever feared, and it has all come to pass.

Only … the devil isn’t the monster she remembers. At times he seems gentle and, most unnerving of all, she’s drawn to him. He wants her for all eternity, and if she gives in, everything he has to offer can be hers. The only cost? The last of her soul—and her humanity.

By a twist of myth, Gabrielle finds herself back on earth from dusk to dawn. Back where the living breathe, where Andre de Leon, the king of vampires and her former soulmate, await her. Yet she can’t help but feel that something’s wrong. She’s wrong. Her blood seeds demons and her powers can move earth and air and all manner of creation.

Now angels flood the skies, gods and demons are made flesh. A battle between good and evil is erupting, and if Gabrielle wants to escape hell and save the world, she’ll need to end it, once and for all.

Found in the forest when she was young, Laura Thalassa was raised by fairies, kidnapped by werewolves, and given over to vampires as repayment for a hundred year debt. She’s been brought back to life twice, and, with a single kiss, she woke her true love from eternal sleep. She now lives happily ever after with her undead prince in a castle in the woods.

… or something like that anyway.

When not writing, Laura can be found scarfing down guacamole, hoarding chocolate for the apocalypse, or curled up on the couch with a good book.

Amazing last book. Satisfying ending to the series. Love triangle got sorted, not in the best way, but the outcome is what I hoped for.

Tiny bit of regret: I wish Lucifer/Hades/Asiri had more of a redemption arc. There was so much potential with his character, as he showed he was capable of caring. It was disappointing to see him just being killed off like that.

. . . . Persephone is my favorite

OK, so now that I'm done with the books I'll be honest: I hate controlling "for your own good" types. Can't fucking stand them. If the person in question isn't incapacitated or a toddler, then fuck the fuuuuuuuuuck off.

I hate Andres. I wanted him dead, turned to dust, and roasting in hell for an eternity. I'm not even a little sorry for feeling that way either.

(Caleb getting offed would've been nice too)

Oliver was the literal sparkle of the series, Leanne didn't get enough screen time, and I'm slightly miffed that Asiri didn't actually get redeemed.

Apparently controlling assholes who ~*only want what's BEST for you*~ are prime relationship material, but only if they're guilt-ridden when their partner is in the same room or if they give up their goals and interests in life because they met a sixteen year old girl.

It's a very fine line, because that same combination without the magical bond that existed without consent is apparently a fate worse than death.

Who fucking knew.

FUCK Andres.

What a great series! I loved these books! What a unique storyline - The "last" siren on earth soulmated to the devil and a 700 year old vampire king. Lots of action as the devil pursues his Persephone. Great cast of friends a very fairy Fairy, a seer and shifter. Couldn't stop reading til I devoured them all. Nice ending too.

Highly recommend!

What a perfect ending to this series. I was on the edge of my seat most of the story. Gabrielle and Andre kicked butt and didn't even take names, as usual. Oliver and Leanne continued being the devoted and hilarious friends they've been throughout the series. There were times that I didn't see how it could have a happy ending, but my heart just wouldn't lose hope and it paid off. Love prevailed and I loveddd the epilogue. I am thoroughly satisfied.

Damn that was so good! I'm sad the series is over! I sure hope to see some of these characters in The Bargainer series!

The story was really good! I actually started to read it after I got my hands on Rhapsodic and while Gabrielle irritated the bejesus out of me, I kept reading as I just NEEDED to know what will happen.

Some Spoilers might follow:

Those hints that the devil is not all bad, well I'm a sucker for that kind of romance. The only thing is that the story stopped making sense at some point. Why did Gabrielle love Andre so much? My answer is because she found out about the bond with him first and had to love him, but that's it. She found him overbearing, cruel, but oh my god so gorgeous, so she just had to love him?!
On the other hand we have the devil...Asiri...who actually was able of righting every wrong he's done, loving her as only a god can and so much more. And this doesn't hold a flame to her thing...ahem...love, she called it?...for Andre?!?!? Come on!
It is only my opinion, but I was really rooting for Asiri and feel that this future Gabrielle saw with him at the end, would have been a much more wonderful finish of that story. Instead I got a trapped imprisoned devil damned to be alone and lose every ounce of good left in him, and a run-of-the-mill they-lived-happily-ever-after. I'm just sad and disappointed!

I didn’t hate this. It dragged on a bit and the romance side is sappier and less graphic than I prefer it, but overall it was a good conclusion to this guilty-pleasure, beach-read supernatural series. I probably wouldn’t have read this at all if it weren’t for Kindle Unlimited, and it don’t find myself leaning towards recommending this, but if you are on KU, you could do worse.

This book had some interesting twists, though the overall ending was quite predictable; but the main problem I have is that the characters are really boring. They are supposed to be interesting because they are supernatural, but they are a little one-dimensional so you constantly know what to expect from each and every one of them.
Also, the dialogue is a bit blah, with the exception of Oliver who is way over the top and that gets old as well (though he is the most entertain character, without a doubt).

Overall, ok read if you need something light, but nothing to write home about.

A female God, two soulmates, three living fates and a upcoming apocalypse. Angels, demons, supernaturals and humans fighting against their destiny.
I loved this series, it was an entertaining, fast and almost light read. I am looking forward to read other books written by Laura Thalassa.

I've no idea how other to explain this book than anxiety-ridden. Yes, anxiety-ridden is the best term for The Damned.

There's something sinfully delicious when falling for the bad guy, and Satan, The Devil, Pluto, Hades, Asiri is the epitome of evil. The thing is, I found myself leaning toward him a few times. I admit, a tiny part of me wanted Gabrielle and the Devil to share a happy moment, and yes, I felt so terrible afterward thinking it.

"The devil wasn't supposed to have a caring side. He was sadness and despair and loneliness and anger and violence and—"

"I am everything and nothing," he continued. But know this Gabrielle: I am not the devil. Not with you."

See what I mean! Oh, man I didn't think I'd be able to read the entire book without indulging in a glass—okay, bottle—of wine! He's caused Gabrielle and Andre grief from day one, though while he had Gabrielle trapped in hell, Pluto changed.

However, as the myth goes, Gabrielle can leave Hell and return to Earth. Return to Andre, her true soulmate and love of her life. Their affections for one another never wavers, if anything, their bond is strengthened.

"He tasted like I remembered—like home."

So all was right in the world for like, a second. Oliver and Leann turn up and save the day, duh. ;) Oliver, oh how I missed the smart-mouthed fairy. His one-liners had me rolling! Leann is a great seer and leads them from ambush after another.

Gabrielle is kick ass in this book! She's strong and bold and refuses to back down or shy away from what she wants: a life with Andre and her ties free from the Devil for good. Action from page one and the nonstop excitement never slows for a second.

At the end of a series I'm always left feeling something was missing, but not the case with The Damned. Laura Thalassa did a fantastic job writing the final book in The Unearthly Series.

Bea Miller's Dracula, among others, totally made me think of The Damned!

That Awkward Moment-
When a series you're reading makes you question your own morality.
The Unearthly
This series by Laura Thalassa was a throw away read for me. One of those books you pick up for free and think "hmm I don't know could be good could be really bad but it's free so I'll give it a shot". Well I'm happy to report that it was not bad. It was actually a pretty good read. The author does a great job of weaving myth in with present day. The characters aren't as three dimensional as a C.S. Lewis or Tolkien book but she makes up for it with loads of humor and edge of your seat action.

The premise of the series is the 16 year old main character Gabrielle Fiori (thank you for not giving us weird, hard to pronounce names) who is accepted to an exclusive boarding school on the Isle of Man in the British Isles. Once there she learns that she's some sort of supernatural and during the awakening it's discovered she's half vampire and half siren and all the way damned. Yes she's damned from the start especially when she discovers that she has a soulmate who is the biggest, baddest, scariest, dude in the entire supernatural community, think Godfather. Oh but what's a young adult book series without an epic love triangle! This one has one so epic it's literally hellish as in the Devil is her other soulmate. You read that correctly Laura Thalassa broke the rules and gave this girl two soulmates. If you're not feeling sorry for Gabrielle Fiori yet then you are made of stone my readers!!

Gabrielle faces off against some pretty scary bad guys but never alone. She has her Seer friend and roommate Leanne and BBF (Best Bitches Forever) Oliver the gay fairy. Yes he's a gay fairy and you will LOVE him! As expected Oliver provides most of the humor in this series that spans five books and his jokes usually come at the expense of Gabrielle and Leanne (again thank you for not giving them weird, unpronounceable names).

Laura does a great job of painting the devil as the true father of lies, the deceiver, and it's not until book five that you really start to question everything you thought you knew about him. I was so torn by book five I wasn't sure if I was rooting for the Devil to win Gabrielle's hear or her other soulmate Andrea de Leon. I wasn't unhappy with how the story ended but I've come to realize I will always be the girl that hopes Dracula wins in the end. Not sure what that says about my own morality but whether you pull for the Devil or Andre you'll love reading all about their struggles and triumphs in this series.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
UH super super hard to review this book : I did NOT like the first part that I spent a lot of time reading, I loved the second part and I SO loved the end !!
I expected a lot from hell and the plot with the myth of Persephone ... And I must admit that at first I was disappointed : the style was inconsistent, not always clear, a little too hasty and rough ()
And then after the chapters 10-11, the plot begins to become more complex and from there everything follows : Gabrielle begins to doubt everything she thought she knew, the role of Jericho (I loved the fact ), the Devil who appears more like Pluto, the Devil who (OMG !! This chapter 24 !!!) ... AND THIS END !!! I loved the end, perfect !! And reading this short passage towards the end where we see another future, I would have loved to read an alternative ending where ><
In short, if you want a light reading but also a bit dark with romance, Greek mythology and endearing characters, this series is for you <3
Overall the series were damn good and got solid 4 stars from me. Previous one even got 5 and I had high hopes that this one would too and even join my favorites shelf, alas it was not to be. But it's still a 4 star.
I guess I've started to grow out for quite a while now of the NA & YA genre 'cuz teenagers...nah.
Even so, The Unearthly was an enjoyable read, 'specially the last two.
And The Damned promised to top it all!
The plot was pretty original even thou it involved the ages old myth of Hades & Persephone with supernaturals, demons & angels etc thrown in, but Laura Thalassa managed to put a whole new spin on it! Good job!
So we have the plot which is constantly in motion and there's not even a moment of peace, but that's totally fine, 'cuz it works out & wasn't overwhelming, it just kept you wanting to read further to know what happens next. Nice.
The writing. The writing flowed easily & was ok. Nothing special, nothing bad. Expected. Easy & fast to read.
Characters. All in all I guess the characters managed to do their job - had ones (a lot ones) whom I hated 'cuz they're mainly dumb idiots, those I liked and even a one loved one. But since this wasn't a tragic drama where you'd have to shed tears of despair, that's totally fine with me.
Now, the one thing that prevented me from giving The Damned 5 stars, adding to favorites and most likely won't join the books I've re-read?
The Devil.
And not because of the devil.
It's because of the attitude towards the devil.
Poor Hades/Pluto/Asiri. I was totally rooting for him and he was the single aforementioned loved character. Surprising? Shouldn't be.
The guy's evil. So what? He's the devil. It's in his job description.
What killed my love for this book & series as a whole was the fact that Hades was made out to be the bad guy, when in my opinion, he's just a victim of circumstances.
Lets forget the past and how he came to be Hades, not part of this story, but since then he's been imprisoned in hell for thousands of years, never to truly leave. That's not nice, but guess he deserved it.
Then he got promised a soulmate who was made specifically for him. That's nice.
Had to wait for her for a few thousand years all the while without a true companion. Not nice, but ok.
Now, when she's finally here and to be his, turns out the fates made another one of their "mistakes" and she's got another soulmate. Oy! That's just...cruel.
And what makes it the most cruelest thing of all? Gabrielle was the one thing that could save Hades from going totally pure evil. Hell, she was created for him! Pluto is the only reason she even exists!
Why the cruelest thing of all? 'cuz as I said before - victim of circumstances. If the fates hadn't messed up (which they seem to be doing quite a lot apparently), Asiri would've been Gabrielle's only soulmate & Andre wouldn't even have entered the picture and she'd fallen for Hades. The end. Forever & ever.
The real bad guy of this series? The fates. They say karma's a bitch? Well, fate's too, all three of them! The biggest bitches of all time!
With their "mistake" they've ruined peoples lives and nearly brought about the apocalypse. Yet all the blame was put on the devil 'cuz he's such an acceptable scapegoat and they can go on messing up again, making further mistakes & ruining more lives. Nice. Not!
And the sad fact is, Hades' the only character I truly cared about. If/when Gabrielle and/or Andre would've died I wouldn't really have cared and they're the main hero/heroine! not to mention secondary characters. Nah, as nice as Leanne & Oliver were, just nah.
One might say, but Hades was evil & murdered & killed & deceived & blah, blah, blah, Gabrielle wouldn't have loved him anyway.
Yeah, if he had only been that I wouldn't have cared either!
But we got shown that Asiri was in fact capable of caring for her & loving Gabrielle. That right there is the saddest thing of all.
Sure, he did some bad things, well actually only one. Everything else's part of the devil's life (which could've been changed)
Other's had done far worse to Gabrielle, so it really can't be held against Hades. He's quite good comparing!
And what put the final proverbial nail in the coffin? The ending.
Well, while the ending confirmed my love for Asiri and killed any chances of The Damned getting 5 stars & etc, I still liked the book & series as a whole, so I'd recommend reading them. Once. It was worth it after all. Easy & don't really have to think of anything much.
"Welcome to Hell, my queen."
Gabrielle has shed her vampire queen title and gained a new one- Queen of Hell. She is to stand by Pluto's side ruling over the souls of the damned.
Gabrielle knows something is different. Andre's bond has been severed and a new one replaces it. Yep- you guessed it. The Devil is on the other end of the bond.
"Gabrielle: I am not the Devil. Not with you."
"Then what are you?"
"Your soulmate."
Everything has changed. Gabrielle can now feel the Devil- sense him. Her body is betraying her by connection of the bond. She reminds herself she still loves Andre- even with the bond severed... But there's a side to the Devil she hasn't seen before. A tender side.
"I enjoyed the sound of his laugh."
Talk about a messed up situation.
Don't worry the Devil isn't becoming some sap for our siren vampire queen. No- he is still awful. Gabrielle must find a way to escape the Devil's fate while going back and forth to earth every 12 hours. But while on Earth, she's becoming something she doesn't want to be. Gabrielle finds herself wanting to torture and inflict pain. Also, her blood creates demons- a nice gift from her hell of a soulmate. Thankfully, our Hell Queen has Andre (who still loves her deeply), Leanne and Oliver to help her save her escape Pluto's clutches. They have one hell of an adventure.
This book ended perfectly. I loved every book in this series. The way it has grown- this novel compared to the first.. To think I WASNT going to read it. I HIGHLY recommend this series. On a side note- the first few books in the series are marketed as YA. I think this one and the previous is more of a NA. Plenty of cussing, violence and sexual scenes. My cup of tea.
And just look at the cover. LOOK AT IT.
3.5 stars - Upper YA fantasy - book 5 / last book.
I actually enjoyed this one a lot more than the previous two books but I was kind of rooting for the devil and I don't know if that's a good or bad thing rooting against the main love interest! I loved the setting of hell and we finally see another side to the devil or Asiri. The plot picked up and I loved the involvement of the gods.
It irked me every time Andre said soulmate and I began to dread his POVS - I just wish he had more personality other than Gabrielle's "soulmate".
The devil deserved better in my opinion and I feel like the blood letting thing he ordered for Gabrielle was to push the reader to dislike him and give the story the villain arc. I'm not sure if this is just my view from reading books with the devil as the morally grey love interest!
I enjoyed Gabrielle as a character and her story arc as a whole - the moment with her father was so sweet. Both Leanne and Oliver are present for the duration of the story and I loved their friendship and the roles they played within the story.
Overall I think the story could have been better as a trilogy as I felt some of the previous books dragged / went over similar plot tropes, but still an enjoyable series that's easy to understand and fun to read.
I did enjoy this book a little more than I did book 4 but not by a whole lot. Personally I preferred the first few books of the series. I wasn't a fan of the Hades and Persephone storyline that was present in the last couple of books in the series. Despite this I am a little sad that I have reached the end of this series. I can't wait to read more of Laura Thalassa's books.
Loved this series from beginning to end. The characters, the twists and turns and everything in between.
Laura has a way of captivating her readers until you reach the end of the series and have no choice but to say goodbye. What a ride.
My only slight issue is the repetition of spelling errors throughout the series, it was slightly distracting!
I was actually disappointed in the ending. There were 5 books leading up to this and it really fell flat for me. Overall, I did enjoy the series, I just wanted more from the five books leading up to this. Without Andre or Oliver, this would not have been as enjoyable.
A thrilling conclusion to the series. I real page turner, I enjoyed the way this wrapped up the series. I didn't forsee it ending like this but it was perfect.
I received an eARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of this review.
Initial Reaction:
The Damned by Laura Thalassa is the perfect conclusion to the The Unearthly, picking up right where The Forsaken left off. Please note that if you have not read the prior books in the series there are minor, unavoidable spoilers in this review. Gabrielle wakes up in the home of Hades. She’s dead now and his consort. She can no longer feel her soulmate Andre in the living world. That connection is gone and she is now tethered to the one man that has haunted her since she was a kid. Can she somehow return to the world of the living and stop the coming apocalypse?
Gabrielle is in hell…literally. She’s the devil’s consort, tied to him as she once was to Andre. She can feel him in her heart and she’s angry. Oh boy is she angry! She wants out and she just wants her life back. Instead she is learning more about Hades, or Pluto, or the devil…whatever you want to call him. I’ve always loved Gabrielle. She never gives up, despite all that is against her. BUT this book, she’s lost, confused, hurt, angry…you name it and she’s probably that at some point during the book. She was betrayed by her friend, she’s lost her soulmate, and she’s tied to the devil. Seriously, how much can one girl take?!
Hades…Pluto…the man in the suit. What is it about the bad boys that makes me love them?! I know I’m supposed to despise his character. He’s torn Gabrielle away from Andre, he’s deceived her at every turn, he hurts her every time he interferes YET there’s another side to him. He can be kind, gentle, caring, all the things he shouldn’t be. Be prepared because you see him a lot more in this book and I can honestly say I was torn between him and Andre.
And Andre…poor Andre. He is not the same vampire king we met in The Unearthly. He’s vulnerable and broken, ready to meet his maker. In his eyes, Gabrielle is dead and there is no getting her back. My heart hurt reading his POV. BUT, argh! His determination and love for Gabrielle is the stuff you dream about. She is his heart and his only reason for living and he will stop at nothing to get her back.
The plot centers around the series arch of Gabrielle becoming Hades consort, his soulmate instead of Andre’s, and what that means. Why is Hades so consumed with her and what is going to do with her? If you’re like me, you may have brushed up on your Persephone mythology going into the book and remember that she lived 6 months in Hell and 6 months on Earth. Yeah our Gabrielle gets a similar treatment, except it is days in Hell and nights with the living. (No spoiler, this happens in the first chapter).
Overall I LOVED this book! I couldn’t set it down. I read it from start to finish, forgoing sleep to do so and it was SO worth it. I’ve loved and rooted for Gabrielle since the beginning and was ecstatic to read the end. Laura Thalassa has done a fabulous job tying up all the loose ends and giving Gabby, the devil, Andre, really all the characters a fitting conclusion. I couldn’t imagine a better one! If you’re a fan of the series, don’t miss out. Read it ASAP because I need someone to share the feels with!
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Normally, I do not start reading a series by reading the last book in the series. It's akin to walking in 50 minutes into a 2 hour movie and asking what happened. (If you're one of those people, just stop.) Sometimes, series have standalone books and you can read out of sequence. That's not the case with Laura Thalassa's "The Damned". That being said, however, I did read it without reading the others.
The Damned was friggin' amazing! I hadn't meant to read it out of order. I was just going to browse the first page and check out how many words in the book. I was so hooked from the first page that I couldn't stop reading.
This is the second book I've read by Thalassa. I just love her style. This book blew my mind! I laughed, I gasped, and I couldn't unglue my eyes from the words. It was so imaginative and well-written (of course, we're talking Laura Thalassa!).
It was obvious to me that this book was researched quite well. Details stood out that weren't just a by-product of an active imagination. I do wonder how she came up with such a creepy description of hell...
Speaking of hell... Her imagery was downright awesome. Her picture of hell wasn't just creepy. It bordered on frightening. And, the things that happened there.... I'm at a loss for how to describe them. I had images burned in my head for a few days after the last page of "The Damned".
Thalassa's understanding and development of the man himself (Asiri) was excellent. She created a character which encompassed nearly everything I'd ever read about the first fallen angel. But, she made him real on the page. Thalassa associated emotions with Asiri which other people might not have imagined--love, hurt, pain (his and not someone else's), sorrow. That's creative! I aspire to that level of creativity.
Naturally, I missed the details by reading the last book first. I wondered what the characters and locations looked like. I didn't have the understanding of previous events. But, the story was so well done, I was able to piece together things quickly without taking away from this book.
I loved the premise of "The Damned", which was hope in a world surrounded by darkness and deception. I appreciated the characters she created and the outcome Thalassa gave them. It seemed very fitting giving the turmoil the main characters experienced.
I highly recommend reading this book AFTER you've read books one through four. I have my copy of the first book and will re-read "The Damned" in the proper order.
*Spoilers if you haven't read Books 1-4
Ok - before I read this epic conclusion to The Unearthly series I read a review where the blogger said "I was so conflicted by the end of the book. You see a new side to the devil and I honestly had a hard time picking between him and Andre." So I went into this book expecting a sweet and innocent Hades and a bit of an effed up Andre. Now after reading I feel like this:
gurlcrazy
Now that I have that out of the way...
This book was a very good conclusion to the supernatural series based loosely on Greek mythology. Gabrielle is going through a bit of an identity crisis (not that I can blame her) and after how book 4 ended she is out for some blood (Caleb & the Politia you better watch out son).
watchout
We left her at the end of book 4 destined to be the Devil's consort in Hell, but luckily in the first 5 pages we find out she is much more like Persephone than we expected. She can go to the human realm at night and is only trapped in Hell during the day (still not as great as riding off into the sunset with Andre but better than nothing).
She is trapped between who she was & who the fates want her to be. Her Mate bond with the devil throws her desires all out of whack, but our girl comes back to us with some help from the ever faithful Oliver & Leanne. This book is good but really only covers the span of about 4 days, and the epic battle between good and evil, in my opinion, left much to be desired.
Basically it goes like this:
Who is she?
The devil is being....nice. WTH?
OH. NO. HE. DIDNT.
didnt
Thank god for friends.
I LOVE YOU ANDRE.
Wait... That's it? That was awfully...literal.
The end.
I wasn't as impressed with this novel as I had hoped but it tied up all the loose ends and gave us the answers we wanted in almost 72 hours.
Book Type: YA Paranormal Romance
Book Rating: 3/5
Read Time: 2.5 Hours
Alright. I’m not too sure if I’m upset that its over or upset that it didn’t end the way I was hoping for. please note, that I’m going to spoil the hell out of this review so if you haven’t read it, don’t read my review.
I do love the ending to a point, yes…Andres and Gabrielle fought tooth and nail for their love. They are soulmates and they fought to stay together. I love that they got married and lived happily ever after. The King of Vampires got his Queen. The vampires are no more because Gabrielle saved them and everyone else who was damned.
Now you also have Asiri, who is technically Gabrielle’s soulmate as well. Yes, he is the devil but for Gabrielle he was Asiri. He was trying. How the hell did she pick one over the other? (one was the devil…yes, yes I get that) Did she fall in love with Andres or was it the whole soulmate string that drew her to him? She was his soulmate longer than she was Asiri’s so who’s to say she actually fell in love with him and it wasn’t fate’s plan all along? The three fates strung her so far along that she didn’t know what was her actual choice and what was being planned for her. I really think that if she gave Asiri the time of day that she gave Andres then things would have been different.
I’m really hating that Gabrielle didn’t redeem Asiri. In the end he fucking chose her. He grabbed her hand, all that should have been flashed in their eyes. He was at peace and wanted her. Why couldn’t a damn doppelganger at the least, be made for him? I’m so upset on his behalf because there he goes giving his heart only to be betrayed and thrown back into hell. Now he is just the devil again. The God of Love will NEVER come back. And that’s kind of sad.
I loved this series and even thought I was hoping for something different, it was still great.
I was very much on the fence with believing the series could be wrapped up in book five. In the fourth installment I felt there should at least be two more books to actually be able to clear things up, and make a beautiful or devastating ending with all the threads that were set loose during book 1-3. Still. I'm taking my hat, coat and shoes of. Bloody brilliant endring to an even more breathtaking series.
This one was a bit slow in book one, but looking back, what a pretty smart move. And finally, an author who understand the strength of a female heroine. Their strength is not defines by their mate/man/boyfriend or love obsession. It's their inner strength, its how they act and not act, its how their actions affect others around and how it shapes them. And taking charge of oneself, not being lead around by a male ego leash.
THANK YOU!
So book five. Where to start?
"As he led me through the castle, he gestured to some of the doors we passed. “Torture chamber. Torture chamber. Conference room. Torture chamber.”
“I’m noticing a theme here,” I said.
Thalassa, Laura (2015-11-14). The Damned (The Unearthly Book 5) (Kindle Locations 67-68). Lavabrook Publishing Group. Kindle Edition.
Oh the joy of snarky attitude. Loved it.
If your still one the fence of tryng this book, dont be. Its just builds up towards an ending which did not feel either rushed, forced, coerced, or with an "perhaps" cliffhanger to an "perhaps" spin off series.
Just. Hats off.
