My name is Nick Carver and I have a superpower.

Be jealous. Be very, very jealous. I've only begun to touch the edges of the power lying coiled inside of me. No one knows what I'm capable of. Of how far I can go, least of all me. That should scare me but it doesn't because let's be honest, nothing does.

Not even the fact that I'm dying. Again.

She saved me once before, I have every faith she can save us all now. If there's one thing in this world I wholeheartedly believe in, it's Alex.

You're probably wondering how we got here. How we went from a frozen island halfway between Russia and a polar bear's butt to this deadly tropical paradise in French Polynesia. How we formed our gang of misfit, pissed-off superheroes that got us here. How after everything we've been through I've ended up right back where I started - gasping my last breathes alone in the cold. I'll gladly tell you, but listen close. Pay attention. I don't have a lot of time...

Great cover!

This picks up exactly where Sleepless left off, with Alex and Nick trying to escape.
They decided to get the files on the other experiments and track them down. They call up Nick's friend Campbell and get his help. Liam turns out not to be what they expected and after he tricks them they find out there's more to him than they thought.
This book is a great example why Tracey is a great writer, the characters are real. They could be your friends, the way they tease, bicker, protect and love each other.
Campbell is great, (think a geek from Big Bang Theory) the fact that he refers to Alex as SB the whole time is endearing. Although he drives her and Nick nuts with his superhero trivia.
Brody turns out to be a surprising guy.
Although Beck wasn't in the story that long he's a good guy from the get go.
Nick and Alex are still great. They are definitely one of my favorite book couples.
The majority of story is focused on Nick and Alex controlling their powers while on the run. They learn that it goes way above Dr. Evans head and want to take out the top person. They believe this will end everything.
The ending isn't a cliffhanger and its mostly resolved but its almost left open ended. I asked if the story will be continued but as of now there's no plans for a 3rd book.

I was given an eArc by the author. Thank you Tracey!

Edit- There will be a third book *squeal*

Tracey Ward has done it again, y'all.

The Good
The ending.
THERE'S GOING TO BE A THIRD BOOK. Tracey surprised the crap out of me, and I couldn't be happier! To date, Nick and Alex are my favorite couple of hers. I actually read this book slower than normal so I could savor the time I had left with them. SQUEE.

Alex and Nick.
As I mentioned above, Nick and Alex are my favorite couple that Tracey has written. (So far.) The chemistry between them is amazing. There is no doubt that they were made for each other. The way that they grew in Fearless just solidified my adoration of them. Their banter is priceless.

The humor.
I probably looked crazy while reading Fearless. I would go from laughing out to loud to holding back tears because the end was sneaking up on me. The humor that Tracey injects into this story is brilliant. It's just what this story needs.

The plot.
Wow, y'all. Talk about edge of your seat, nail biting. Tracey Ward really shows us that she's meant to be writing with Fearless. The way she paces the story is flawless. It's a rollercoaster of emotions and feelings. But damn, I'm glad I went along for the ride.

I'll stop my rambling. Just go read Fearless already.

The Bad
Nothing.
Not even kidding.

The In-Between
Nothing.
For real.

I loved the first book, and the sequel started off as a great follow up, but it just kinda started to lag for me. Campbell I will say, was a nice surprise - I bloody hated him in the first book, and he’s ain’t no saint still, but wow, he’s grown and I really like that he came to help them, especially when Nick was being a jerk.

For the most part this was a fairly good book. There is something about the way the author writes that I like. That being said, I didn't like it quite as much as the previous book in the series.

It wasn't until about 70% in that any significant action took place and at that point it really took off. The first 70% was kind of slow for me and it felt like a lot of traveling from point a to point b to point c, with no real plot progression. There were also a few times when I thought the whole thing felt kind of silly. Once the action started it was quite entertaining but I thought it caused the ending to become extremely rushed.

I also thought the everyday normal non-supernatural aspects were far more interesting than the paranormal ones and it kind of bothered me that Nick is AWOL and his airforce career essentially over.

I thought Nick and Alex were pretty decent main characters, but again, I think I liked them better in the first book. I thought they had a lot more depth in that one. Nick has one controlling moment where he pulls a shitty move on Alex in an attempt to help her conquer her fear and it pissed me off but I liked how the supporting cast of characters and Alex herself called him out on it. I also liked the fact that he admitted he was wrong, regretted it, and apologized for it.

Holy crow what a ride! The first book was amazing and the second one did not disappoint! My understanding was that this book would be the end of the series, at the end of this one it says it's not and to expect the next one early next year. This news just made my month, my year, etc I was so not ready to say goodbye to Alex and Nick. I absolutely adore these two and the new people that are added to their group in this one just made it all the better. They're like the modern day version of X-Men lol. Campbell will literarily have you ROTFL! This book will make you feel every emotion under the sun and you better be ready for an awesome ride. To any of you readers that like an action packed story with a sweet romance and an awesome way of presenting the story that make you feel like you're there, then GO PICK THESE BOOKS UP!!!

If not for the errors the editor didn't bother correcting and the rushed ending, it would have been a solid 5.

The characters were amazing and I loved the new additions to the story. I loved Nick and Alex's relationship and how they complemented each other. My favorite character would be Campbell though. It's always the nerdy funny guy that gets me. He was simply amazing and I hope to see more of him (and maybe a novella or spinoff from his pov in the near future?).

Naomi's powers were impressive and I'm sure Liam will make a reappearance in the next installment with her badass and terrifying skills. I'm so very excited to see how the next one goes.

Incredible

There are some books that you come back to time and time again. That the story in the those pages also lives inside of you. This one. This group, these people, this couple, this plot, it’s buried so deep in my bones that you’d have to take me apart to get it out.
Nick & Alex don’t have it easy, by any stretch of the imagination. They’re literally locked in the battle of their lives with outside sources and still trying to figure out who they are, both together and independently.
I cannot stress how much I adore this series.

Another awesome book in this trilogy. Campbell, Nick and Alex are together and trying to find out who exactly is in charge and how to take them out. Nick and Alex are also trying to find out more about their abilities and how to control them. Alex specifically is trying to learn to slip deliberately. They get the files from the facility and set about trying to locate everyone who also has powers.

They are still being tracked by the bad guys and some loyalties are in question.

I can't wait to see how it all turns out in the last book. Loved it!

A story of love, power, and everything in between

Talk about a wild ride from start to finish. You pick this book up, and you don't want to put it down. Fearless is a great successor to Sleepless, and it leaves room for more in this great world of powerful beings and even more powerful relationships. You will not regret picking this up.

Slip into another world

The imagery and creativity is so good, you can't help but "slip" into this other world. It's like you're right there with them, fighting and running, dreaming and loving. I love this series!

Color me surprised. I actually liked the second book in a trilogy better than the first! This isn't the middle book people just tolerate so they can find out what happens with everything in the third book. You know...the one that you don't enjoy reading, but you kind of have to to figure out what's going on in the series finale? The one called the bridge book because no one really remembers being on it, but only where it leads?

Don't get me wrong. It still had the typical second book features. After the big reveal toward the end of the first book, the MCs are all set up to find out more and hopefully put a stop to the big baddies. Unfortunately, there is a bit of traveling and time spent "recruiting" or gathering more information. I expected all that. What I didn't expect was to still be engaged in the story whilst muddling through this part of the story arc. I attribute my continued interest to Ward's engaging storytelling and humour. It was still funny and light when it could have been a real drag.

My only complaint about this book is Nick's god complex. It frustrated me and I still don't understand how Alex kept forgiving him so easily. He really tried not to be a jerk in this book, but old habits die hard and he did or said things that even his anti-social friend, Campbell, pronounced socially uncool. I wish that Alex had more a backbone when it came to Nick. Overall, I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading the third and final book of this series.

What I liked:
1) The alternating povs.
2) The humour.
3) New friends made along the way.
4) Actual progression in the plot.
5) Relatively clean. No sex scenes and very few swear words.
6) Nick was so sweet at times. It almost made up for how bad he was other times.

What I didn't like:
1) Alex still forgave way too easily in this book. If the guy I loved did what Nick did to Alex, I would not be OK for a long time.
2) Some minor editing issues.
3) Nick's god complex. Him talking about how Alex needed to control his power was annoying. I'm pretty sure she knew that already.
4)

Fearless picks up right where Sleepless left off and continues the story in an amazing way. I enjoyed Sleepless but thought it started slow...Fearless is fast paced from the beginning. The characters are more confident, and already knowing their backstory allows this book to be full of action while still having interesting, deep characters.

The plot was so interesting and the characters are fascinating. This book was well written and so much fun to read. Definitely a unique concept. This sequel makes the first book seem even better too because it reads like one cohesive story.

Story deserves 5

An amazing world full of funny, talented, morally upright characters centered around a love story. Something this complex could have easily become cumbersome or hard to follow, but this author developed the characters beautifully and delivered one check of a good story.
I wish she'd find a better editor, as the first-class story was hampered by poor grammar and misplaced homophones.

So much better than the first book

Based on this book, my guess is the author finally found a good editor. After forcing my way through the errors in the previous book, I didn't start Fearless with any great expectations. I was pleasantly surprised when the second book in the series delivered on the potential that was lost to bad editing in the first. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

And the story gets better and better! This is the second in a trilogy so READ THE BOOKS IN ORDER! The romance, fantasy and action heat up in this one, but there's still one more to go. We'll just have to wait for Powerless--it's not out yet.
I'll be waiting...

Amazing

I really like this book, more than the first one.
Maybe because I was confused in the first book, and everything cleared out at the second.

So many great characters. I loved there humor and banters and seeing how they teamed up together.
