Arlen's been stuck in his wolf form for months and he's had to watch his mate fall in love with another man and live with him. To his surprise, Arlen falls in love with both men, so when he becomes human again, he knows exactly what he wants—both Gentry and Nick.

Gentry helps Arlen to become human again, but when Nick finds out Arlen is his mate, Gentry thinks he'll have to leave the man he loves. Then Arlen proposes a threesome solution, but Gentry is hesitant.

Nick accepts Arlen's solution more easily, even though he isn't sure his wolf will be happy with it. But the wolf wants both Gentry and Arlen, and after a bit of stumbling, the three settle in their new throuple.

Will Nick and Arlen be able to resist the urge to mate and really include Gentry, or will Gentry end up alone and rejected? And how will their families and friends react to their solution?

Catherine is the creator of several series, most of them paranormal, including the Whitedell Pride Series and the Gillham Pack Series. While she graduated in translation, she decided to go the writer’s way because it was more fun to create her own stories and characters.
She’s been living in Italy for more than twenty years, but she’s a daughter of the North—Belgium to be precise—and she misses it so much that she’s already planning to move back.
She loves pizza—probably too much —her pets, and of course, books. She sneaks some reading time in her schedule every time she has five minutes free from writing, demands from her various pets and son, and lastly, housework.

I was looking forward to seeing what would happen once Arlen could get out of his wolf form. The thought of this being the first menage in this series was very appealing. But not finding a way for the mating bond to happen with all three left me disappointed. This is a romance and we all want the happiest of endings. So I would have loved for Gentry to have been able to have a second chance at the mate bond. Plus for Nick and Arlen to never know what that feels like was totally a let down after this has been shared in both the series that connect to it.

Feeling a little incomplete after reading this story.

I love this series plus the Whitedell one, but this installment left me cold. My biggest issue was the mate bond not happening. It felt like Nick would rather have Gentry which in turn (for me) felt like Arlen was dispensable :( Will definitely continue with both series but this addition, too me, was blah!

I'm a bit conflicted over what to rate this, because I LOVED Arlen and his sass, and I loved him with Gentry, and with Nick, but especially with Gentry. I kinda agree with the other reviewer who said that this felt incomplete, since that's what I first thought when I reached the ending. As if there needed to be another chapter or two. I also wish there had been a bit more of them as a threesome and that there had been some solution to actually being mates - bite and all - for all 3 of them. It seemed that it was hinted about Arlen biting Gentry, but nothing came of it.

However, I also enjoyed that it really dealt with how they were going to try their relationship together, great communication between the three of them once they all sat down together. The beginning half was my favorite, and overall, I really enjoyed these three together.

I put off reading this book because I didn't like the idea of a throuple. At the end of the story I haven't changed my mind. It felt more like Arlen and Gentry's story. Nick just didn't seem to be involved.

Sometimes you have to walk off the beaten path and create your own to be happy.

Arlen’s been stuck in his wolf form for months and he’s had to watch his mate fall in love with another man and live with him. To his surprise, Arlen falls in love with both men, so when he becomes human again, he knows exactly what he wants—both Gentry and Nick.

Nick accepts Arlen’s solution more easily, even though he isn’t sure his wolf will be happy with it. But the wolf wants both Gentry and Arlen, and after a bit of stumbling, the three settle in their new throuple.

Will Nick and Arlen be able to resist the urge to mate and really include Gentry, or will Gentry end up alone and rejected? And how will their families and friends react to their solution?

Summary:

Arlen has been trapped in his wolf form since before he was rescued. When he and the others arrived, Jared, the doctor, didn't find anything wrong with him and with all the other injured shifters his case was placed on hold until they could locate his records. The worse thing about it was when Arlen met his mate Nick who was in a relationship with another man Gentry. Arlen thinking that he could be trapped in his wolf from forever, was content to watch over his mate and lover, he even came to love Gentry. Gentry cared for ans worried about why Arlen couldn't change until one conversation with his Dad and he found an implant that was causing all the problems. It was horrifying how if the company could make something that small that could have such reaching consequences for their victims what else were they capable of making? Arlen now has a new chance to build a life, but what of the relationship between Gentry and Nick? Arlen's proposal to create a relationship between the three of them shocked and intrigued them. Can their wolves accept it or will the mating bond between Arlen and Nick make it impossible? The book took a different direction then the earlier stories and it was fascinating to read as it unfolded. It was inspiring to read how the acceptance and love between Arlen, Nick, and Gentry quickly grew to be something they never expected that could change their lives forever.

Spoilers but worth the read please.

I know that some readers are a bit negative about this one in the series. And I guess I might be a bit biased since I have been editing for Catherine from the start, yet I have to say something here.
Arlen was very hard for her write, yet, the story line goes with everything Whitedell and Gillham are about. They only get one mate in life, yet Gentry deserved to have a HEA as well as Nick and Arlen. I also have to say this was one of my favorites of the series. The love and acceptance that Arlen has for Gentry is just exceptional I thought. This also goes with the character that was created for him, he is willing to give up his mate bond for everyone to be happy and that no one is left out. This is the kind of love I want to read about and hope that is out there in the real world.
So yes, there is no mate bond bite in this book, yet the love that is written about is the same as throughout the series. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did.

Reviewed for Prism Book Alliance

I have mixed feelings over Arlen's story. First of all, we needed it. Second of all it answered some interesting questions. Finally, I don't like menage. It just isn't my trope. However, I am so invested in this series, I couldn't NOT read it. Not to mention the fact that Nick and Gentry, two characters whose HEAs I needed are involved.

I like how mates weren't a priority in this one. Like it was a problem but it literally just helped the 3 take notice so that they could take a relationship seriously and not throw away love. Maybe it isn't realistic but it is a supernatural romance and I would like to think that there were realistic reactions in here.

Very disappointed in this for Arlen story arc. Wish it could re-written for just Nick and Arlen. This whole story line was a mistake

Arlen came from the Glass Company rescue. He’s been in wolf form due to an implant for the last 18 months. When he’s rescued, he’s placed in the home of Nick and Gentry. Nick, it turns out, is Arlen’s fated Mate, but Arlen has no way to let him know that and since Nick and Gentry are a committed couple, Arlen runs away – briefly.

His wolf won’t let Arlen stay away too long, and eventually he returns. He ends up watching Nick and Gentry and grows to gradually not only accept their relationship but finds himself in love with Gentry, as well as Nick.

When he finally is able to transform back into human, Nick realizes Arlen’s his Mate. Gentry immediately offers to leave, knowing how important the Mate Bond is, but Arlen won’t have it. Instead he offers them the solution of trying on being a “throuple” or a three-way-couple.

At first there’s resistance from both Nick and Gentry, but the loneliness and love everyone both fears and wants drives them to give it a shot.

**

There are books in this series that are hit and those that are a miss – this is a HIT! I really liked it and found it to be rather refreshing and unique.

The throuple dealt with the “mate bond” stuff and really just focused on three guys trying to establish a relationship with one another. There were a couple hot smexy scenes, but most of it was them working things out.

I liked that they confronted real life issues – like cleaning, bills, cooking, etcetera and acknowledged that mate bond or no, communication was the key to success.

So, for fans of the series, shifter romances and ménage, I recommend this and give it a 3.5 of 5 stars.
