(I received this book in exchange for an honest review)
One of the things that I liked about this book was the characters Alice and Derek. I thought that the chemistry between the two was really great. If I was going to base a rating based just on those character’s and their story I would give 5 stars to this. My favorite part was when he said “I’m ready.” In fact just having their story the main focus would have made it way better.

I really did love the characters and the way they were written. If it was ever possible I would want to read a book about how Rave and Lance met, and their story in more details. That would truly be amazing. In fact I would think that would make a great book.

I have two reasons for rating this book only getting 4 stars. First, it lost a star because I felt like there was way to many povs along with the povs switching to fast. Second, was I thought that the author packed way to much in this story. Majority of the book we had this one thing that was going on until I was at 80% (of being finished). Then after that ended the writer added more and more to the story.

So I think if you like Mystery, Thriller and Fantasy all in one book. You might want to check it out.

Definitely a good thriller book, i agree i couldn't guess how the story end and Alice is such a mysterious character which still have an amnesia and she doesn't know who she is, the letter of her mother don't solve her problem. Plus there is this group called Grasp that has a secret plan which Alice is involved and they are responsible of many deaths.
Will be a great entertainment if you reading it, you will enjoy it like i did, i'm sure of it.

(reviewed it on amazon too)
To start off, I loved the concept and the way it was written. I loved the descriptions of the place and people the main character Alice encounters. The twists and turns really caught my attention and brought the characters to life. I saw one twist coming, but the other blew me away. Great read!

'The Grasp of Nighttide' is a fun thriller/fantasy read especially for people who like reading books that have the paranormal involved, and a well-layered female lead. New author, Sadaf Zulfikar, has done a good job creating a new world and setting up things for future installments in the series. The story centers around a girl named Alice who as amnesia. Yes, I know, Alice in Wonderland, and Alice from the Resident Evil film series, where the female lead felt out of place. The whole thing could've come across a bit boring/been-there-read-that, but Sadaf is able to overcome the narrative obstacles by presenting an interesting story to her readers. There's also a cult involved!

The tone of the book is set from the very start and you'll find new meaning to the once confusing events once you've the rest of the story. This makes for a good readability and you can enjoy The Grasp of Nighttide more than once. There are also songs present in the work which capture the atmosphere of the events.

The Grasp of Nighttide is an entertaining read for fans of thriller/paranormal/fantasies with a relatable female lead. I'm looking forward to more works by this author.

What can I really say about "The Grasp of Nighttide" other than WOW!!! Sadaf Zulfikar absolutely nailed it in this fantasy thriller. Sadaf may very well be the next Neil Gaiman. The Grasp of Nightide follows and absolutely lovable character named Alice as she wakes up in a mysterious house with amnesia. As Alice tries to piece together who she and her past, dark demonic forces are at play searching for her. Alice has all the attributes you want in a strong, female protagonist, she's smart, funny, a bit moody, a above all, she's real! Sadaf brings to you a world filled with a myriad of characters each superbly well-developed, and then weaves them masterfully into the story. (I'm sure you'll even grow fond of potential villains, like I did). The Grasp of Nighttide will leave you guessing just which way the story will end throughout the entire book. You may think you have an idea, but believe me, you don't! If, I could give this book a sixth star, I would. Can't wait for Sadaf Zulfikar next masterpiece, she has a fan for life!

'The Grasp of Nighttide' centers on Alice, a young adult who awoke inside a deserted house with no memory whatsoever, and a note from her mother giving her an identity and a warning. Slowly growing comfortable with a new slate, she is befriended by a handsome stranger named Derek, who's awfully flirtatious for someone who's in a relationship. Just in case this wasn't enough for a plot, lets insert the fact that a cult is trying to kill Alice. They are the Grasp. A society of demon summoners who are leading children to their death, and responsible for the constant fresh batch of human road kill!
This book is definitely a thriller. Almost every chapter follows a different character so that you can see their perspective. Characters make drastic changes within the one book, and at some points you feel that your head has exploded with all the twists and turns this author has written. Nothing is predictable and you are definitely in for a thrill ride. Though this book is a bit grim and morbid, it was definitely a page-turning entertainer!

One for lovers of paranormal and romance.
An original and highly imaginative book full of rich descriptions and interesting characters. The plot is complex with plenty of surprising twists and turns as the truth about Alice and the shady Grasp organisation is revealed along with the connection to a young girl jumping from a bedroom window and a series of fatal car accidents. I can't say much more without giving the story away but I liked the involvement of family, the part Lance played and the final twist.
One slight negative. A story of such complexity and characters who were not who they first appeared to be requires writing of maximum clarity and consistency and there were a few occasions where I was confused as to what was going on and why.
Overall an enjoyable and ambitious book which requires close reading at times.

The Grasp of Nighttide is a fantasy thriller about a girl called Alice who finds herself in a deserted house with no memory of who she is or where she is, except for a note from her mother that issues a warning. Years later, having met Derek, strange events begin to happen, little girl jumps out of a window, people dies in car crashes, and Alice has a feeling this is the work of a demonic group called ‘The Grasp’, and somehow she knows she is connected. What follows is a dark and grim, but the plot moves along so fast and there are many twists and turns that I never saw coming. The author develops the characters really well, and the story is never dull or predictable. I was quite surprised and would definitely read another book by this author.

Well it’s nice that something other than Clark Kent came from Kansas
The story opens chillingly and with intrigue. I appreciate openings that can be read at the end of the book and take on a new meaning, this definitely does that.
I really like the main character. There’s intrigue of her past, and she isn’t quite sure of herself, but is strong and confident. I usually don’t like the whole torn between two guys thing, but this was done well.
Kind of reminded me of Sleepy Hollow and Supernatural, and a little of Anthony Horowitz’s Power of Five stories.
I have to admit when I started off I was worried it was just another play by number, but the author introduces a lot of characters and the plot picks up speed quickly.

'The Grasp of Nighttide' left me rather confused, making it difficult to rate the book. This is my honest opinion. After I had reread parts I decided it was worth a four and a half star rating. It starts with a little girl jumping off a window sill. The reader is not enlightened at the time why this happened. As the story's mysteries unfold, I began to enjoy the reading experience more. The main protagonists Alice and Derek are compelling, young people.
Who the demonic Grasp is, becomes clearer much later in the novel. Steph is quite frightening. 'The Grasp of the Nighttide' is both a thriller and fantasy novel..

I actually really loved this book. The plot was intriguing, and the main character, Alice, is pretty cool and super realistic in spite of the fact that this is after all a fantasy novel. Though the book starts out with Alice having amnesia (an angle that most readers may find a bit tired), it was done awesomely as well as the overall characterization and different settings, showing that Sadaf is a very talented writer. Do yourself a favor and pick this up. This one is definitely worth the read, and Ms. Zulfikar is definitely one to look out for.

Although not my usual choice of book, I liked The Grasp of Nighttide'. The intro of the book gives the right edge of creepy and made me want to read on. The main character Alice is alone and suffering from memory loss. As the story develops we learn that this is for Alice's own protection. A group called the Grasp is intent on harming her. The author builds just the right balance of suspense that had me moving quickly to the next page.
Lots of plot twist and turns that kept me guessing to the end! Would read more from this author.

Yeah, I am not able to finish this book. I got thirty percent of the book read on Kindle and am done trying to go further. It just isn't worth it to me. I found the writing to be erratic and annoying to try and follow. When topics are jumping back and forth every paragraph it is not a writing style, but an unorganized mess. Also, there are many grammatical errors that are quite distracting. I think if it was edited a few more times and the writing was made to be clearer and not jerk around so much it wouldn't be a bad read. As it stands right now, I am not a fan.
