"I'm not a bad guy. I just...do things my way. It's the only way I know how."
➦This is book one in the Happy Pants series by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. I've never read anything by this author so I was pleasantly surprised right from the start at how much I liked the writing style. The story flows effortlessly and I was glued to it pretty much from start to finish.
➦Bennett is a hot billionaire bachelor who first comes off as a giant douche bag but later on redeems himself. Taylor has her own business to help coach billionaire CEOs on how to be better bosses. Unfortunately, her business is on the brink of bankruptcy, until she gets hired by Bennett.
❤The sexual tension between these two is off the charts. Bennett makes a point to never date his employees but keeping his hands off Taylor is very... hard, if you know what I mean. I loved the anticipation, how they "danced" around each other until they finally gave in.
❤I really loved Bennett's character. I remember the book referring to him as an "onion that doesn't stink". Onions have layers, right? Throughout the story we peel layers off of him and find out who he really is. And once the suit comes off... well, be prepared to wipe some drool off your face. It's pretty rare for me to get worked up over M/F novels these days but this book totally had me feeling all kinds of wonderful.
"...this man was like biting into a goddamned jalapeno. The first few seconds were a piece of cake; but the more you chewed, the hotter it got."
❤The heroine was funny and had constant inner monologue going, which I found to be entertaining but at times too repetitive. She was feisty and stood her ground though, so she's totally okay in my book.
➦The ending left me a bit disappointed. It used one of my pet peeves as a plot twist and I found it to be absolutely unnecessary. There was so much going on at the end and I felt like the main characters needed to overcome their difficulties by helping each other without any influence. I ended up loving the book anyway.
➦On the side note, I really wish authors would stop with the "giant dick phenomenon" for which the condoms aren't a match. I think it helps to know that the hero is hung but not to the point of a horse. I find it completely nonessential and, frankly, it makes me roll my eyes.
➦I would recommend this book to anyone who loves contemporary romances with arrogant billionaire heroes and feisty heroines. This read is steamy and is sure to leave you panting.

Tailored for Trouble by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is book one in the Happy Pants series. This book was generously provided to me in exchange for an honest review by NetGalley, Ballantine Books, and by the author.
I read the prequel to this book, Happy Pants Café, some time ago and fell in love with it. So when I had the opportunity to read this book, I literally jumped at the chance. And let me tell you, it was absolutely amazing. I love ALL of Mimi Jean’s books. I think I love every one more than the one before it.
Taylor Reed has pretty much hit bottom. She lost her job, although it wasn’t the job of her dreams, she was good at it and it paid well. Then she had the bright idea to start her own company, a company that will help big company CEO’s to better relate to their employees, thus making the workplace a happier place. She put every cent she had into the start up, but hasn’t been able to snag a single client. She’s ready to throw in the towel so to speak when she is approached by Bennett Wade, the man who is responsible for the loss of her job in the first place. He has the gall to ask Taylor to come to work for him, to help to train him. There is no way Taylor will have anything to do with this despicable man, no matter how good he looks in that suit. That is until she finds out a few details pertaining to the real reason Bennett wants to hire her. Perhaps she could change up her program a bit. Changes that would work against Bennett. Perhaps she could get a bit of revenge.
Bennett Wade is the owner of his own conglomerate. To say the man is driven would be a huge understatement. Bennett has issues. Deep seated issues that he keeps well hidden. A past that has darkened his heart. But the first time he saw Taylor and her lack of fear to say whatever she wants to him whereas most people were afraid of him, drew him to her. Bennett is working on the deal of his life, something that will change everything, something that means everything. He does need Taylor to help him to seal the deal. But more than that, he just wants her to be near him. The woman infuriates him and intrigues him all at the same time.

So begins the war of wills between Bennett and Taylor as they begin a journey that takes them around the world. It is also an emotional journey of discovery, as these two break down each others walls and dare to let each other into their hearts.
I fell in love with Bennett immediately. From one page to the next, you can’t decide if he is truly a despicable cruel man, or a saint. His actions constantly contradict. Taylor was perfect for him. She held nothing back. She was the only one who ever dared to say whatever she wanted to to him. And let’s talk chemistry. These two were smokin! Bennett oozed hotness.
And at the bottom of all of this are those fabled magical love cookies from the Happy Pants Café. It is said that if you eat one of them, you will find the person you are going to marry within seven days.
Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, you have done it again. You have written a story that stole my heart. And thank you, thank you for not ending it in a cliff hanger. I am just in love with this book. I can’t wait to see what you have planned next for this series. In the mean time, if you haven’t read the prequel yet, Happy Pants Café, now is the perfect time. Then you will be all ready for Tailored for Trouble. Take my word for it, you’re not going to want to miss this one.

Tailored for Trouble is the first book by the author that I've read. After a run-in with a client that caused her her job, Taylor Reed wants to kickstart her business to give CEOs a personality development training. It's quite a shock when the same CEO who got her fired, Bennett Wade, enlists her services for her executive training program. Now, how a love cookie is added in the equation is neither here nor there.
Taylor and Bennett have that immediate connection when they meet again after the unfortunate run-in a few months back. Taylor wants nothing to do with Mr. Wade, but Mr. Wade won't take no for an answer.
When Bennett Wade first entered the picture, he's this aloof, almost cold, man of power. He's the type of person who believes he can get anything because he is who he is. But as the story progressed, we'll see the stripping of his layers. He's not just this cold-hearted man with a beautiful face and body. He's a loving son and a caring boss, and he's more than what Taylor thought he was.
Taylor's monologues were really entertaining to read! She's a smart, independent girl who won't let people treat her like shit. I guess she became that way because she grew up with men; her father and brothers.
For me, the story had a lot of potential, but the deceit and one-upmanship wasn't to my taste. I enjoyed Bennett's slow but steady character reveal, but by the end, I was disappointed––and exhausted, to be honest––with the drama and plot twist. The pacing throughout the story was quite right (for a story set in a week or so, mainly), but by the middle of the second half of the story, it's like the conflicts were jammed there haphazardly. There's a lack of communication between the two, and they go behind each other's backs when they think it's good for the other.
Still, the humor was there, and I loved the chemistry between Bennett and Taylor. I'd recommend Tailored for Trouble to romance lovers who adore snarky CEOs and strong-willed heroines. It's a bit of a slow burn romance, too.

Check the swearing, Tay. You will not swear. You will remove his testicles like a lady: with your bare hands and a smile on your face.

This book is not funny, it is ridiculous. The book is itself a joke on its own with every annoying trope I hate in romance books. No, it is not funny at all, not a romantic comedy at all, believe me, what it is is a bunch of cringe-worthy and stupid stuff compiled together, aiming at killing your brain cells and threatening your sanity.
First of all, the heroine is an annoying woman who assumes and then acts based on her assumptions, thus, making a fool of herself.
She is also one of those women who are a hormonal mess in front of a sexy guy. She can’t help herself looking at his pants and being obsessed with his junk. And every time she does that, she is caught up ogling it. AND this happens many times!!!
How funny is it when a woman is caught ogling the pants of a man, trying to measure the size of his penis and then doesn’t hear what he says at all because of her fantasies of him f*cking her with that penis of his? Is this funny and I should laugh but I have no sense of humor or what???
If you ask me, she is the stereotype of a woman that puts all women to shame!
This pathetic woman is constantly thinking of sex fantasies with him but acting like she hates him because of her stupid assumptions. Oh she assumes a lot – like all the time. His secretary says something and she misunderstands it and assumes that he sleeps with her. The air-hostess says something about him and again she misunderstands and assumes that he sleeps with her, too. I really have no idea how she made it so far in the educational world with the lack of her brain cells.
Shortly, she is a stupid, annoying and presumptuous woman who jumps into the worst conclusions and acts accordingly so that we, as readers, laugh at her stupidity. Well, I didn’t. It was far from being funny – it was just annoying. So, again, we have a writer here who thinks her gender is cute when acting like a fool. What a pity, what a shame!
And her fantasies about his penis was too much – too too much! Neither funny nor sexy.
The hero sounds like a prick at first but he is your usual billionaire guy – the damaged one with secrets and once you get to discover his secrets, you see how good his heart is, blah bla.
I didn’t like him, either. He was too secretive and too closed off. It was hard to understand what kind of intentions lay beneath his actions. And when he revealed his true self, I was in a frame of mind where I couldn’t care less.
And as if we didn’t have all kinds of cliché trope in the book, what was that about his big d*ck that tore condoms every time and finally knock her up?
How many more times can this book make me say, “Yuck!”? Well, enough is enough. I cannot torture myself with the rest of this thing… DNF it is!

“You look like you could use a drink.” He glided that tall, broad-shouldered body of his over to the wet bar.
“You read my mind. I’ll have penis.”
“Will you now?” He laughed and gave her a look. “I’m not sure I know that drink, but I think I can come up with something.”
“You don’t know wine? It’s that stuff that comes from grapes.”
“You said ‘penis.’ ”
No I didn’t. Oh my God. What’s the matter with me?
“I did?”
“This place is incredible. Do you sex here a lot?”
He lifted a brow. “Uh. No. Not really. I prefer to sex at my estate in the comfort of my own bed.”
She looked at him, scrunching her brows together.
“You asked if I ‘sexed’ here a lot,” he said. She cupped her hands over her mouth.
“I did?” she mumbled through her fingers.
Yeah, she is this idiot who cannot say she wants to drink “wine” but says she wants to drink “penis” and yes, she is that fool who cannot utter the word “stay” but says “sex” because all she thinks about looking at him is his penis and sex.
OK, so if you laugh at this stuff, the book is full of them…

Oh my holy hell, what a book... it was completely hilarious AF. And according to my husband, I was laughing hysterically like a lunatic while reading the book lol. I still remember he got a little worried after seeing my reaction and kept asking me one question after another about this book...😂Poor soul.
Anyway, let's get to the main point....
Magical happy-face cookies that can make you find your true love in 7 days after eating them? Who wouldn't be curious about this unique idea? And if that book is written as brilliantly as this one, well, of course, it's impossible not to love. My favorite author always had her way with this type of enemies-to-lovers content and always knew how to give us the best nutty heroine with the perfect witty banter story. This book also had some funny internal dialog that I found the most entertaining, as usual.

Magical happy-face cookies that can make you find your true love in 7 days after eating them? Who wouldn't be curious about this unique idea? And if that book is written as brilliantly as this one, well, of course, it's impossible not to love. My favorite author always had her way with this type of enemies-to-lovers content and always knew how to give us the best nutty heroine with the perfect witty banter story. This book also had some funny internal dialog that I found the most entertaining, as usual.

And now the most infuriating CEO to ever seek out her services, Bennett Wade, wants to hire her to help him with a possible merger? No thank you. Well, he is offering her a ton of money. And he is sexy as hell. Besides, agreeing to help him doesn’t mean she actually has to help him.
Check the swearing, Tay. You will not swear. You will remove his testicles like a lady: with your bare hands and a smile on your face.
From the moment I started reading Tailored For Trouble, I knew I was going to love being inside the mind of Taylor. She’s smart, snarky and all of the wonderful things I require from my favorite book BFFs. Her first encounter with Bennett had him acting like a complete douchebag. And the second and third encounters? Yeah, pretty much still an asshat. If that’s the case, though, then why are his employees so loyal to him? The enigma that is Bennet Wade only manages to ratchet Taylor’s hot and bothered status up to stratospheric levels and before long, homegirl has no idea whether she’s coming or going. Literally.
This book started off being a 4.5+ star read for me. I loved the way Taylor’s written, I loved the fact the story is developed without providing a bunch of superfluous information that’s not needed. Most of all, I loved the interaction between Taylor and Bennett. Can you say love/hate to end all love/hate relationships? Yes, please!

As it stands, the drama and confusion prevails until the very end and by that time, I was ready to throw in the towel.
Despite any misgivings I had with Tailored for Trouble, I really enjoyed the writing and the story overall. I’m eagerly anticipating seeing where the rest of the series goes.

5 - "Only you, Ms. Reed. Only you." Stars!
The first book I have read by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff started out as a bit of a mixed-bag for me, but as it progressed, grabbed me and pulled me in, I think mainly because I didn’t foresee at any point the directions in which the author took the characters and the story in.
I think the first thing that highlights just how well-crafted this story is that fact that as the reader in the early stages of the book, you jump to the same conclusions about Bennet Wade as Taylor Reed does.
"People like you are what makes this world a shitty place."
But whereas I started to realize as the book progressed was that there was more to this guy than meets the eye, Taylor took an awful lot longer to see past her own blinkered opinions, self-righteous assumptions and information she had picked up from less than stellar sources to then twist and turn to view it in a way that suited her and her own opinions of him.
"Every time you’ve assumed something about this man, you’ve been wrong. Really, really wrong."
Initial assumptions are that our Mr. Wade is a bit of an asshole, and some of the things that come out of his mouth would certainly ascribe to that initial assessment, both as Taylor and the reader, but the author does a great job of dropping lots of subtle hints in the progression of their story, that at first you don’t pick up on, but they kind of click quicker the more that you read.
"Train me… And trust me."
I’ll admit I am surprised I liked this one as much as I did, because Taylor has the sort of personality that normally would rub me totally up the wrong way, but there are points that even after epicly messing up, she then goes out of her way to make things right again, even if it does more often than not, end up making her look like an idiot, and then with her eating huge doses of humble pie, that made me feel for her, and the situations she found herself in.
"I thought of you leaving, and then I panicked. Because no one has ever looked at me like you do, like they truly get me, the real me… And I sent you home because every time you look at me, I want more. More of you, more of those lips, more of your sassy little mouth. And it scares the hell out of me."
I am glad I stuck with Tailored for Trouble, this is certainly a series, and author that I will be looking to read more from in the future. Because to be able to take a character I would normally hate and make me like her, and then put her in a story that I didn’t know where it was going to go from one chapter to the next, whether it be due to plot twists or character revelations, and keep me entertained, engaged and eager for more, that is a special, special talent.

The next book up in the Happy Pants series is, All Leathered Up, which is due in 2017 and I am looking forward to seeing what adventure the author takes her characters on in it.

4.5 Happy Pants Stars!
This was my first book by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and the first book in her new Happy Pants series. I originally put this on my wish list through NetGalley and was pleasantly surprised to open my email one day to see that randomly selected to receive a copy of the book. I really enjoyed this read and can't wait to read more of her work. There is a prequel out that I need to go back and read.
Taylor Reed has found herself on the wrong side of luck. She recently told a client, Bennett Wade, what she thought about him and the comments he made during a meeting and tried to throw him out of the meeting. Ultimately, she ended up fired.
"The key to running a successful company. Empowering versus dominating. Collaborating versus dictating."
Then she decided to start her own company, consulting CEOs on how to make the environment a more enjoyable place for their employees. She's good at it and thinks she can make a difference, so she puts all of her money into starting this business. After months of trying she hasn't been that successful in securing any clients. Just when she's ready to call it quits she's approached by none other than the arrogant Bennett Wade himself, wanting to hire her.
Bennett Wade is working on the deal of his life and needs Taylor's help in making sure it goes through. Even though she initially tells him to go to hell, he doesn't let that stop him. He knows she will be the key to winning over the owner of a company he desperately wants to buy. So, he doesn't take no from Taylor for an answer.
Taylor doesn't want anything to do with him at first, but once she steps back and thinks about how good it could be for her company if she added Bennett Wade to the list of satisfied customers, she gives in. But then she hears some disturbing news about him and rather than helping him, she decides to get a little revenge instead.
Bennett is a very private person and he doesn't give her much information to go on. Due to a bad breakup in the last he only sees women as "gold diggers," but there's something about Taylor that intrigues him. He can't help but want to be near her. He tries to keep things professional between them, especially because he is not looking to become involved with anyone, but the chemistry between these two is there and all it takes is one tiny kiss to ignite.

Jet setting around the world, these two start out all business, but by the end it was a journey about opening up and trusting each other. Bennett has some issues he's still dealing with from his past, issues that leave him feeling unworthy of love. I felt for him, but what he was trying to do in the end was so sweet. Can Taylor show him that he is worthy of being loved and loving someone else? Will her initial revenge plan backfire and cost her a chance at love?
I loved all of the characters in this book. Even though Bennett seemed to be arrogant at times, I couldn't help but to fall for him. Taylor was a great heroine too. She was not afraid of saying exactly what was on her mind even when she was working for Bennett. Bennett's mom and her reasons for brining Ms. Luci and the Happy Pants Café were understandable. I loved that she formed a relationship with Taylor without even meeting her. I'm looking forward to seeing what's in store for the next lucky victim of the Happy Pants Café cookies. They definitely have some magical capabilities.

This was a heartwarming, funny and entertaining read. Mimi Jean Pamfiloff is an author i always look out for. She has quirky, unconventional plots/ characters and i always love her books.
Taylor Reed is exactly what i love in my heroines. She's funny, she's kind, she's sassy, she's REAL. She had some cringeworthy moments and i could only shake my head and laugh out loud at those. Although repeatedly kicked down to the ground by life, she still stands up wiping the dirt off her back, ready to take on her next challenge. She loses her job for standing up against an arrogant, asshole-like CEO Bennett Wade. She then uses up all her savings to start up her own company, only to be hired by that very same arrogant, asshole-like CEO. Although completely mismatched(and not all all his type) Taylor feels like she can see through Bennett, right to his very soul. I loved that bit of the story. They understood each other although they were of completely different poles. She was smitten by him, she was horny looking at him, she was understanding when it came to his issues and boy, did Bennett have his issues. All deep seated, heartbreaking issues. But Taylor stood her ground and accepted him, flaws and all. He confused her, he intrigued her and ultimately, he grew on her.

I know we've read many, many books of hot, sexy CEOs with a dark history falling in insta-love with the poor damsel in distress. Believe you me, this book is nothing like that. Bennett was initially intrigued by this hot headed beauty, however there is no insta-anything. Their relationship progressed based on Taylor's pure understanding and kindness. There were moments i felt like she was a pushover(and i would have slapped Bennett repeatedly... and hard!)however, that was really Taylor being the person she is. Bennet Wade- as annoying, crude and harsh as he may seem, i still got smitten by him. Under all that suited exterior, lay a man so hurt i was happy he found his salve in Taylor.
From Tokyo to Paris then to Bali to close off very pertinent deals(which i LOVED reading about as i've recently been to Tokyo and Bali) Taylor and Bennett develop a need and understanding for each other that when the ultimate betrayal occurs, they are both thrown off tangents. Without giving much away(as this book takes many, many twists and turns) this light read is about forgiveness, understanding and love. It is a standalone and other books in this series will be about the other characters we meet. Can't wait for the next book. A definite recommendation!

Overall Tailored for Trouble was a good read.
I liked both Taylor and Bennett, I enjoyed their watching their relationship develop from hate to lovers.
I enjoyed their banter, loved their need to outdo each other and they had great chemistry.
What I wasn't a fan of was the unnecessary drama, it took away from my overall enjoyment.
By the end I was starting to get frustrated and wondered if these two would ever be on the same page.

5+ hysterically funny stars, this was an amazing book for me. This author blew my socks off.
If her other books are half this good I will be reading them all.

Highly Recommend to anyone who likes very funny, sexy stories with great writing. Did I miss anybody out???

I loved Ms. Pamfiloff's King series...which was a dark fantasy, time travel, paranormal mixture and ever since then, I ve been slowly picking up her other books...
This one came to me like a perfectly served dish!😋

But keep reading—I promise it does get better, especially once some of the more interesting dynamics of their history and the illustrious bet come to light. June 26, 2016I nearly put this one down at the beginning because Bennet Wade, the billionaire CEO hero was such a turbo douche, but I stuck to it because of the humorous inner voice of the heroine, Taylor Reed, youngest sister of a bunch of overachiever brothers who had always treated her as a little brother. Complete with noogies at the dinner table.
Taylor loses her job because of the over-the-top behavior by Bennet Wade, as Taylor's boss tries to suck up and sidle out out by throwing Taylor under the bus at a negotiation.
We pick up with Taylor later, when she has totally run out of money after trying to peddle her business, which is training CEOs to treat their workers better. None other than Bennet Wade shows up, wanting to hire her. She blows him off, of course, (causing me to high five her and thereby dive deeper into the book) but he gets around her by tricking her onto his private jet . . . which crashes.
Battle-of-the-sexes, when both are equal in the emotional arena, is one of my favorite romance tropes. I don't like bickering, or endlessly recycled arguments, and I loathe with a purple people-eater passion the Grand Misunderstanding that you know would take five minutes to clear up, but I love peeling layers as dislike gradually changes to attraction, then love, which is much tougher to achieve for writers, but Pamfiloff does a great job with just that.
How these two spark at each other as their relationship develops worked for me for two reasons besides the above-stated one: first, the terrific, funny, humane but unsentimental narrative voice. Taylor is a tough gal after her growing up, so all the crap Bennet dishes out she takes and then fires right back.
But second, and at least as important, Pamfiloff builds an intriguingly complex character in Bennet Wade, demonstrating how Taylor misread him at times, and at other times he really is as tight-wired as he comes off, but we slowly learn the reasons that made him what he is today. And how aware he is that he's a mess. Without venturing into spoiler territory, I loved how Pamiloff shows the downside of controlling CEOs who work around the clock, as Taylor finds herself negotiating cities like Paris and Tokyo at a moment's notice, on too little sleep.
I also loved the subsidiary characters, who get enough attention not to be cardboard figures serving the plot. Definitely looking forward to more in this series!

This is my first book by Ms. Pamfiloff and honestly I couldn't put this down! If all her earlier releases are anything like this one I can say I honestly missed out on some awesome books but that will change and I owe that all to this book.
Normally when I read a book that involves a cocky CEO I can pretty much tell they are going to be like all the other ones out already but this one was different. Bennett is sexy, cocky, rich and speaks his mind. To tell the truth the man comes off as a complete asshole for most of the book but then you get little looks at the man who he is and wants to be and had me falling for him.
Taylor lost her job and started a new company all because of Bennett so she is shocked when he comes to her for help. Of course he offers her money and she says no but then she feels that they could maybe help each other.
Taylor knows he's hot but that doesn't stop her from telling him what she feels and when. These two fight and call each other names throughout the first half of the book. I liked it wasn't love or lust at first sight. These two acted as if they hated each other just upon meeting one time.
This book is funny as hell, has great dialogue, sassy characters and magic cookies. I love the plot and the twist and turns Pamfiloff took her characters on. I honestly couldn't stop laughing or put this book down.
I am a new fan of Pamfiloff and I can't wait to read more of this series. If you're looking for a story that will brighten your day this is the one for you! Did I mention this story is funny as hell? A must read!!!!

Taylors Firma HumanitE soll Geschäftsführern beibringen, ihre Arbeitskräfte auf bessere Art zu behandeln. Doch es läuft nicht besonders gut, da es an Kundschaft mangelt. Doch dann ist da Bennett Wade, der Taylors Coaching in Anspruch nehmen möchte. Doch er ist ein arrogantes, aber auch heißes Arschloch und Taylor weiß nicht, ob er der richtige Kandidat für ihr Programm ist. Ihr bleibt aber keine andere Wahl - sie muss versuchen, diesen "Mistkerl" zu einem besseren Menschen zu machen und beginnt, auch andere Seiten von ihm zu sehen...
Protagonisten
Taylor Reed ist eine entschlossene Frau und hat ihre Ziele, ist aber trotz allem nicht so erfolgreich. Sie ist entsetzt von Bennetts Verhalten seinen Mitmenschen, und vor allem Frauen gegenüber und möchte eigentlich nichts mit ihm zu tun haben. Doch dann will sie ihm schaden anstatt ihm zu helfen, obwohl das natürlich die eine Chance wäre, ihn zu einem besseren Menschen zu machen. Aber einerseits glaubt sie nicht, dass ihm das helfen würde und außerdem vermutet sie finstere Absichten und möchte nicht seine Komplizin sein. Also steht sie zu ihren Prinzipien, doch leider ist sie so gar nicht objektiv, was Bennett angeht. Sie fühlt sich zu ihm hingezogen, aber sein arrogantes Verhalten reizt sie und dadurch nimmt sie alles so negativ wahr, obwohl er nie etwas schlimmes getan hat, dass er ein Anti-Coaching verdient hätte.
Bennett Wade ist kein umgänglicher Typ, manchmal sogar ein richtiges Arschloch. Zum Beispiel darf man ihn nicht bei seinem Vornamen nennen, es sei denn, man hat mit ihm geschlafen oder ist seine Mutter. Natürlich nennt Taylor ihn beim Vornamen und alle denken das, aber Taylor versteht ewig nicht, was die Leute haben. Er hat gerne die Kontrolle und das ist auch berechtigt: Er ist beruflich erfolgreich und hat diese arrogant-entspannte Attitüde, die Leute haben, die genau wissen, was sie tun. Jedenfalls ist er genau der richtige für Taylors Programm, denn seine Fähigkeiten in sozialer Kompetenz glänzen nicht unbedingt.
Andere Charaktere
Eigentlich waren fast alle Männer in diesem Buch Arschlöcher, nur haben sie sich nicht später als gute Kerle entpuppt. Es sind alles reiche, verzogene Gören.
Taylor denkt von vielen Frauen in ihrer Umgebung, dass sie mit Bennett schlafen und ist damit etwas oberflächlich. Sie hat nur Respekt vor starken, erfolgreichen Frauen wie Lady Mary, an deren Firma Bennett interessiert ist, und sie versteht sich auf Anhieb mit Bennetts Mutter.
Aber Bennett hat viele Bewunderer. Überall trifft Taylor auf Menschen, die begeistert von ihm sind, was sie zunächst gar nicht nachvollziehen kann.

Manchmal erkennt der Leser dann Bennetts Motive und dadurch auch sein weiches Herz, aber bei Taylor dauert es der Spannung halber natürlich etwas länger. Also die klassischen Missverständnisse, auch wenn Bennett nicht unbedingt versucht hat, sich zu erklären. Das hat es nicht weniger gut gemacht, ich habe auch nicht viel Spannung erwartet, man kann ja meistens ahnen, wie diese Bücher ausgehen. Also hat es mich nicht enttäuscht.
Seltsam fand ich die Sache mit den Cookies. Es gibt Kekse, die einem dabei helfen sollen, dass man die Liebe findet, und Bennetts Mutter ist begeistert davon. Die Bäckerei heißt Happy Pants, und so heißt auch diese Buchreihe im Englischen. Klar, die Kekse behalten recht und es war ein putziges Detail, wo man Bennetts soziale Inkompetenz sehen konnte, aber von so großer Bedeutung war es dann doch nicht.
Fazit
Insgesamt hat mir "Yours - Atemlose Liebe" recht gut gefallen, aber es bot nur kleine Überraschungen und war nicht besonders spannend oder originell.

Meine Gedanken zum Buch:
Dieses Buch habe ich von netgalley bekommen und bin ohne jegliche Erwartung in das Buch gestartet. Was ganz gut war, denn ich wurde überrascht von einem sauberen Schreibstil, der schön zu lesen was ja nicht immer der Fall bei Büchern in diesem Genre ist. Außerdem war er spritzig, frech und lustig. Genauso humorvoll wie die Hauptfigur Taylor, die mir mit irren verworrenen Gedankengängen rasch ans Herz gewachsen ist.
Sie hat erst vor kurzem wegen dem ungehobelten Milliardär Bennett Wade den Job geschmissen und versucht nun ihre selbst gegründete Firma zum Laufen zu bringen, die besonders die Führungsebene von Firmen schulen soll, um die interne Zusammenarbeit zu verbessern. Doch es klappt nicht gut und erst als Mr Wade erneut auftaucht, um ihr einen Job anzubieten, kommt wieder ein Aufschwung in ihre Karriere, wie auch Leben. Danach folgt ein ewiges hin und her, bei dem Bennett sie immer wieder weg stößt, Taylor sich aber nichts gefallen lässt und nach der Zeit bei ihrer Reise um die Welt, auch seine andere Seite entdeckt.
Gegen Ende hin gab es natürlich auch noch mal einen großen Knall und nach einiger Zeit Pause ging doch noch alles gut aus. Obwohl es mir hier viel zu schnell und irgendwie lieblos wurde. Was das Lesevergnügen etwas gehemmt hat.
Obwohl ich Taylor die meiste Zeit ganz gut leiden konnte, ich ihren Humor und inneren Gedankengänge witzig fand, wurde sie gegen Ende hin doch etwas mühsam, weil sie immer wieder das schlechteste von Bennett angenommen hat. Oder sie zu überdramatisch wurde. Wie auch manchen Stellen des Buches.
Und Bennett war für mich eine okay-Figur, aber leider nicht viel mehr. Dafür kam von ihm leider zu wenig eigener Charakter. Die gute Seite hat man lange nur von den Erzählungen anderer Figuren erfahren. Dabei heißt es immer: Show, don’t tell. Dies hat hier aber nicht funktioniert. Im Prinzip war Bennett mehr oder weniger nur gut anzusehen, mit einem riesigen Ding zwischen den Beinen gesegnet und hatte eine Menge Kohle. *yeah* Dabei war er die meiste Zeit ungehobelt, starrköpfig, schnell wütend und generell grob im Umgang mit Taylor. Daher konnte ich hier diese Begeisterung für den Typen nicht nachempfinden. *sorry*
Wie gesagt, der Anfang war interessant, Schreibstil war gut und die Hauptfigur witzig. Aber leider kam ich nicht so recht mit dem Love Interest klar, bzw. auch nicht mit dem Ende, das viel zu viel des Guten war. Wer das Buch gelesen hat, wird es vermutlich ähnlich gegangen sein, aber schon als sie Sex hatten, ist mir das Resultat dessen durch den Kopf gegangen. Ich fand es blöd, dass es dann wirklich so gekommen ist und es am Ende dann auch noch Hochzeit und das ganze Klimbim gegeben hat. Das war für mich zu weit über die Ziellinie hinausgeschossen.

Was ganz gut war, denn ich wurde überrascht von einem sauberen Schreibstil, der schön zu lesen was ja nicht immer der Fall bei Büchern in diesem Genre ist. Außerdem war er spritzig, frech und lustig. Genauso humorvoll wie die Hauptfigur Taylor, die mir mit irren verworrenen Gedankengängen rasch ans Herz gewachsen ist.
Sie hat erst vor kurzem wegen dem ungehobelten Milliardär Bennett Wade den Job geschmissen und versucht nun ihre selbst gegründete Firma zum Laufen zu bringen, die besonders die Führungsebene von Firmen schulen soll, um die interne Zusammenarbeit zu verbessern. Doch es klappt nicht gut und erst als Mr Wade erneut auftaucht, um ihr einen Job anzubieten, kommt wieder ein Aufschwung in ihre Karriere, wie auch Leben. Danach folgt ein ewiges hin und her, bei dem Bennett sie immer wieder weg stößt, Taylor sich aber nichts gefallen lässt und nach der Zeit bei ihrer Reise um die Welt, auch seine andere Seite entdeckt.
Gegen Ende hin gab es natürlich auch noch mal einen großen Knall und nach einiger Zeit Pause ging doch noch alles gut aus. Obwohl es mir hier viel zu schnell und irgendwie lieblos wurde. Was das Lesevergnügen etwas gehemmt hat.
Obwohl ich Taylor die meiste Zeit ganz gut leiden konnte, ich ihren Humor und inneren Gedankengänge witzig fand, wurde sie gegen Ende hin doch etwas mühsam, weil sie immer wieder das schlechteste von Bennett angenommen hat. Oder sie zu überdramatisch wurde. Wie auch manchen Stellen des Buches.
Und Bennett war für mich eine okay-Figur, aber leider nicht viel mehr. Dafür kam von ihm leider zu wenig eigener Charakter. Die gute Seite hat man lange nur von den Erzählungen anderer Figuren erfahren. Dabei heißt es immer: Show, don’t tell. Dies hat hier aber nicht funktioniert. Im Prinzip war Bennett mehr oder weniger nur gut anzusehen, mit einem riesigen Ding zwischen den Beinen gesegnet und hatte eine Menge Kohle. *yeah* Dabei war er die meiste Zeit ungehobelt, starrköpfig, schnell wütend und generell grob im Umgang mit Taylor. Daher konnte ich hier diese Begeisterung für den Typen nicht nachempfinden. *sorry*
Wie gesagt, der Anfang war interessant, Schreibstil war gut und die Hauptfigur witzig. Aber leider kam ich nicht so recht mit dem Love Interest klar, bzw. auch nicht mit dem Ende, das viel zu viel des Guten war. Wer das Buch gelesen hat, wird es vermutlich ähnlich gegangen sein, aber schon als sie Sex hatten, ist mir das Resultat dessen durch den Kopf gegangen. Ich fand es blöd, dass es dann wirklich so gekommen ist und es am Ende dann auch noch Hochzeit und das ganze Klimbim gegeben hat. Das war für mich zu weit über die Ziellinie hinausgeschossen.

Tailored for Trouble is the first book in the Happy Pants series. This story introduced us to Taylor, who I absolutely loved. I loved her fire, her strength and how hilarious she was. This book was just so much fun. I laughed, I smiled, and swooned the whole way through it. Bennett was intriguing, funny and alpha hot. They made such a fun couple, and I enjoyed every single page. I recommend for romance readers looking for a hot alpha male, with a smart-mouthed heroine to keep our hero on his toes.

When I read the blurb on NetGalley, I knew that I had to get this book. How can I not when the story is about two stubborn characters who want desperately to tame each other.

This book made me so happy!!! I absolutely love a book with great banter between the main characters and this had it in spades. I was very entertained by the constant back and forth between Bennett and Taylor. There were so many funny quotes just from Taylor's thoughts alone.
I loved how Bennett came off as such a jerk at first but then Taylor started peeling back layers to find out what a great man he really was. Bennetts mom was hilarious! I loved the phone conversations between Taylor and his mom.
I'm so glad to know this is just the first in a set of standalone series. There were so many great characters in this book that I would love to see in their own book. This was a safe read with no cheating and a great HEA!

Thank you Sharon J for recommending this book to me. I just saw that it is a series, so I will be checking out the other books as well. This was an amazing read. I thought the story was really well-written and it is by one of my favourite authors, Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. This is a love story between Bennett Wade and Taylor Reed, and it involves a cookie that is said to make two people fall in love. The characters were amazing. Taylor was sassy, stubborn, and sweet. She has her own company, where she trains CEOs to be better to their employees and such. Bennett was sexy, intimidating, yet misunderstood. He hides the stuff he truly feels down, so all people can see is his hard exterior. It was really interesting to see him open himself to Taylor and start to fall in love with her. He is the CEO that Taylor is trying to train. I got to say I also love Bennett’s mother, Linda. She was hilarious yet sweet. Their chemistry is amazing. The ending was sweet. I can’t wait to see how the other books will turn out. Overall, an incredible read.

Actually I have mixed feelings about this book...
I read the prequel of this series, Happy Pants Cafe back in December 2015. That was a good read. The idea of this café was so unique. Especially the 'magical cookie'. That was what made me interested to read this series in the first place.
But the ending of Happy Pants Cafe was kind of cliffy, for me. And since I read it back in 2015, I've already forgotten the detail story. So before I started reading Tailored for Trouble, I re-read the last chapter of HPC first. Hoping that it would enlighten me. But I was pretty confused because even after I re-read it, I still felt a little bit 'lost' when I started Tailored for Trouble. Apparently this book has nothing to do with the prequel (´･_･`)
Okay well, move on.
Tailored for Trouble started with a very interesting concept with great main characters.
I totally loved Taylor's characteristic. She's a kickass heroine. Smart, hardworking, not afraid of challenges, and definitely NOT one of those annoying and weak heroines who can't stand up for herself.
Bennett on the other hand....
I think his character was pretty similar with Christian Grey, but minus the kinky stuffs.
He has like multiple personalities.
He's a domineering billionaire who looks cold and heartless from the outside, but deep down he's actually a very caring person. Most of the time he always acts as if he doesn't give a crap about people, and somehow looks like he's looking down on people, but actually he has a heart of gold. Or Japanese people usually called it 'Tsundere'.
At first I found his character so freaking annoying I wanted to punch him hard on both checks. But after I read the book further, I wanted to hug and comfort him and keep him safe in my bedroom forever. His 'inner beauty' really melts my heart.
The story set in the US, Paris, Tokyo, and Bali. I speak English, Japanese and Indonesian. So I pretty much know about Japanese and Indonesian cultures. It's pretty interesting when you read a book where the setting is a place you're familiar with.
So I kinda have mixed feelings when I read about that 'Bali project'. It's so true that many foreigners bought land in Bali and practically made the native people's lives miserable.
And I hate how 'western' people treat Asian people badly. I'm an Asian, btw.
Maybe in America, it's totally okay to knock up some girls without marrying them and you just provide the kids and the moms with money. But that's NOT the culture in Indonesia. I know this is a fiction story but I couldn't help but compared it to real life cuz you know, that's not what actually happens in there. I don't like it when non-native Indonesian making it looks like Asian culture, in this case Indonesian, is the same with Americans. Please keep in mind that they're totally NOT the same.
I really enjoyed this book. I thought I would have given this book at least 4.5 stars, but around like, 80%-ish of the book, the story started to make me roll my eyes and frown my eyebrows.
I hate how the author kinda turned the story into something annoying when it actually could be much better. I don't like Bennett's behavior towards the end of the story. Seriously why make his character become an even-more-annoying asshole than he already is when the reader (me, to be precisely) already start to love him?!?!
Although it finally ends with a HEA, but the process wasn't like what I expected. And it really disappointed me..
And again, the ending was still kinda hanging.. Not a fully happily ever after..
That being said, that's why I only give this book 3.75 Stars.

This is the ultimate fairy tale story of finding true love between a Mr. Scrooge, otherwise known as Bennett Wade, and Taylor Reed. Bennett Wade is a no nonsense workaholic ready to take over the world. Taylor Reed is trying to make her mark on the world by improving the CEOs of big companies. After a brief run in with Mr. Wade, Taylor loses her job. Taylor finds herself struggling and starting all over again when Bennett surprises her by offering to hire her. This just might be Taylor’s way to get revenge or maybe she’ll find herself questioning everything she thought was right. All the while, Bennett’s mom is scheming to find him true love. Could a fairytale ending be right under their noses?
This was such a delightful read. It’s a rom com done right and those are hard to do. It’s actually very interesting how Mimi juxtaposes humor and drama. It balances out the story quite well. Bennett’s story is a sad one with a very serious tone, but together with Taylor’s thought process, the Happy Pants Café, and the love cookie, the mood alternates from serious to lighthearted and funny. I found myself laughing and swooning and tearing up at times. This fairy tale was well done; it’s a nice blend of humor and some heavy life lessons. I especially love the idea of love cookies.

Bennett is intense, but it’s all a façade and when you actually start seeing the real man under the shell of armor he puts up…OMG…he’s a beautiful man with the heart of gold. His soul is beautiful, but tortured. He can’t forgive himself for the past no matter what he does. Taylor gives him hope and shows him the path to find peace and forgiveness in himself. I got to give Taylor credit for her strength and putting up with Bennett because he did some shitty stuff.
"Six million dollars. That was the price tag for crushing her soul, pride, and dreams. I am going to ruin him. Ruin. Him."
Taylor is just a hoot. She did start out trying to ruin him, getting revenge on him, but it’s not her; it’s not who she is and she comes to her senses. She’s so real and her inner thoughts crack me up. She alternates between being disgusted with Bennett to being infatuated him; it’s was funny reading her inner battle.
"Reed. And that's Ms. Reed to you. You...pig in a suit."
"Okay, we'll have some innocent mouth sex. Just good old-fashioned, wholesome mouth sex. And that's it."
She tries to put up a good fight, but she can’t resist Bennett. He’s just too yummy…plus it’s just some innocent mouth sex…lol. She makes me laugh.
But truly, Bennett and Taylor have something real. They have a spark and I can feel it. I love the falling in love stage and I definitely enjoyed watching Bennett and Taylor fall in love.

First, can we just take a moment to appreciate the handsome man on the cover? He is gorgeous. Gorgeous. OK, deep breaths. Now, that we've got this out of the way, let's talk about the book!
I'm not really huge on romance (or romcoms for that matter), because I feel like it's really hard to find one that is unique and different from all of the others, and once you've read one, you've pretty much read them all. This is obviously just my point of view and quite possibly a misconception on my part, but I can't help being wary of most of the titles that promise to be both sexy and funny at the same time. That being said, I absolutely adored this book. I was completely blown away by the writing style, awesome character development (with layer-building you wouldn't normally expect from a romcom!), incredible chemistry and unexpected plot developments that made for an extremely readable story. I can honestly say, I fell in love with both of the lead characters and had a ton of fun following their crazy adventures.
Tailored for Trouble is a book that, in my opinion, breaks the mold and truly stands out from the crowd. It's funny and sexy, but it's also smart and clever and full of witty dialogues. When Taylor lost her job because of the cocky and arrogant Bennett Wade, the last thing she ever expected was to find herself working for him again. She hates the guy, after all! Because of him, she is close to being bankrupt and homeless, or worse - jobless and back at home with her judgmental dad! After quitting her job at HRTech Solutions, she poured all of her money into starting a specialized executive training company, but now that the company isn't doing well at all, it is clear to Taylor that she's made a big mistake. So when Mr. Wade offers to hire her as his consultant, she wants nothing more than to tell him to shove it, but she's in no position to do that. And so the unpredictable, crazy, sexy adventure begins.
This book was incredibly entertaining to read. I loved the no-BS writing style, the dialogues, the sassy remarks and uncensored thoughts. They felt so natural and were super fun to read. Taylor was a strong and opinionated character, who knew how to stand up for herself and wasn't taking any of Wade's shit. Wade, on the other hand, though seemingly uncaring and completely douchy, proved to be quite a complex, swoon-worthy guy with way more to his character than what you'd initially assume. I loved that. I mean, I kind of expected that, but I still loved the way Pamfiloff portrayed him and layered him up like a stinky onion with a golden nugget inside. It was brilliant (and really, really sexy).
It's safe to say, I enjoyed this book more than I ever expected to. It was a light, quick read that made me snort and laugh out loud many times. It also made me swoon quite a lot, and I must say, I loved the conclusion of the story - it was very satisfying. This was my first book by Pamfiloff, but rest assured, it won't be the last one! I'm planning on catching up on all of her previous ones. They are the perfect hot-bath+glass-of-wine kinds of reads!

I don't know about you but I have been conditioned to think a certain way about books with cocky, difficult CEO characters so when I read the blurb for this book, I thought 'Fifty Shades' and having never read anything from this author I wasn't sure what to expect. One thing is sure: Ms. Pamfiloff's brain is a very busy place which translates into an entertaining, hilarious and sometimes annoying love/hate story with unpredictable characters and requires a healthy sense of humor to appreciate it.
Taylor Reed's quest to convert disconnected CEOs focused on the bottom line only from seeing their employees as one more line item on the balance sheet to investing in them via her executive training program is about to come to a humiliating end. Faced with losing everything, the only lifeline available is from the last person she expected. Wade Bennett, the man who cost her her job and was the driving force behind starting her own business needs her expertise and while turning him down feels really good, it doesn't pay the bills and this may just be the perfect opportunity to pay him back. But prolonged exposure to Bennett while still annoying reveals a man with loyal and dedicated employees, something that's hard to understand considering the way he treats her.
I have to admit that I liked Taylor from the beginning - all that snark and sass hit the right notes with me just as much as her don't quit attitude, but Bennett was a little harder to take. He came across as an entitled and annoying d-bag with the condescending way he spoke to her. Their constant misunderstandings and missteps left me literally exhausted and I had to wonder if there would come a time of calm between them but the end made up for the non-stop drama in a big way.
I am looking forward to reading more about secondary characters that were introduced in this book as well as more from Ms. Pamfiloff.
I have to repeat that a healthy sense of humor is needed to appreciate this story becasue the drama is non-stop, all the way to the end and it can be tempting to give up before getting there.

There are so many thoughts tumbling through my mind from this book. The first one is Damn, he is HOT! Loaded with simmering heat and off the wall anticipation, you wonder if they are ever going to get to the main event. Those pages flew by in hopes that it remained as good as it seemed... and it did!
Bennett is dripping with sexuality and oozes passion but he has a secret too. He has flaws and is a stubborn jerk sometimes but you know when he falls, he will be all in. Taylor is a great match up for him. Also stubborn but she recognizes where her heart is going.
This book is loaded with heat and it was a thoroughly enjoyable read! This author knows how to ramp up the sexual theme and keep it humorous, fun, and oh, so sexy and delicious too! I cannot wait for more in this fun series!

This is the second book in the "Happy Pants" series by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. It is contemporary romance with an HEA. It can be read as a standalone.
The book is fast paced and brings to the reader everything to make a reader happy. Conceited, gorgeous hunk of a CEO is loyal and infuriating. There's the smart, sweet, sexy heroine that speaks her mind while trying to get her consulting business off the ground. A cast of wacky friends, employees and family are also included. The story is sad, heart stopping and (yes) romantic.
Mimi never disappoints to deliver a fun but emotionally draining book. I highly recommend this book. It's worth the dry eyes you'll get from reading this book in one sitters.
