I would definitely recommend this book in Kaplan's MCAT series. I generally love psychology and feel like I know most there is to know about it for the MCAT, however, this book surprised me with all of the topics I didn't know. It goes in great depth about the various parts of the brain, the hormones and chemicals involved in different mood disorders, and even the background information on drugs (stimulants, hallucinogens, etc).

Covers intro psychology nicely. Touches on the social and biological foundations of behavior as well. There's a typo on page 426 regarding Prestige where "and" is printed twice consecutively.

Traumatic storyline. Also I needed more books for the 2025 challenge and a textbook is still a book I guess.
