Namiko and her sisters, Kiyuki, and Aniku become desperate to make some quick cash, when an unexpected tragedy causes them to fall on hard times. Luckily, Namiko and Kiyuki get recruited to work for one of Detroit's finest, Maximilian Davis. Although only in it for the money at first, Namiko finds herself slowly becoming involved with the boss. She and Max come from two different worlds, but are trying to see eye to eye on the subject of love; much to the dismay of many people in the city. Even the people closest to Namiko and Max, feel themselves becoming filled with jealousy, and losing sight of the initial goal.
Namiko soon becomes overwhelmed by all the backlash, danger, secrets, and side chicks, that seem to be a package deal when it comes to Maximilian. Will Namiko be able to stick it out with her man? Or will their love end up being only a sweet memory? To many women that are on the outside looking in, being married to a thug of Max's caliber, equals expensive bags, shoes, and vacations.
Follow Namiko Allen, and find out what it really mean's to be married to a thug.
Why did you have to let it end this way? This book was captivating from beginning to end. I was a little frustrated with Namiko initially but I took a moment and started thinking that no one believes that their family would be the one to stab them in the back. I really liked the portrayal of Max, he wasn't your typical thug out here sleeping with everything THOT he could find once he committed to Namiko. Once he gave her his name he remained faithful. The fact that the author showed the reader how he was in situations that tested his determination to remain faithful was commendable. No longer can the bar be lowered by authors saying this is the lifestyle of a thug and women and cheating is something that the main woman has to accept. Kudos and my hat is off to you Ms. Shvonne for distinguishing the difference between real men and little boys. I do think Namiko has a great deal of room for growth and hopefully we will see her mature more in part 2. As always Ms. Shvonne hit this out of the park. I HIGHLY recommend this book you won't put it down until the very last page. I know I couldn't, I read it straight through and was BIG MAD when I got to the last page. This author always delivers excellence and I have come to expect no less.
The only reason I’m giving this book 3 stars is because Nami and Max are so gullible. I should give it 2. these are not likable characters. It’s to the point where they are so stupid. How do they not realize that Yuki is the one doing this and not Cory. I almost stopped reading.
This series is be lit🔥. Babygirl big sister is a hating bitch is gonna get what she deserves. I hope my guys are good. U did good on yet another book and im looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and eating on popcorn while waiting on the next book to read
I really wouldn't mind if Cori ended Kyui. She's a snake through and through and don't care about nobody but herself. I hope Nomi didn't loose her baby all because her sister is a jealous looney bird. I really don't know how I feel about Max just yet. Imma give him the benefit of the doubt tho.👄👄
I usually don't leave a review until I've read the whole series, but baby you got me. Didn't expect that cliff hanger. What a exciting read,I'm onto the next part. Hate I waited so long to start this one.😘
I have never wanted to fight every character in my entire reading life. These nut jobs have pushed all my nerves to the limit. Like why are y'all this way? Whew, Chile. I need a 🍸
With a sister like Kiyuki who needs enemies something is really wrong with her. How can you be so jealous of your own sister? She's so entitled its a shame someone needs to really show her how all of this feels.
Felt Like I was reading a middle school book. I want my time back that I wasted reading this book. 1 of the worst books I've ever read. I will not be completing the series
Namiko's sister is very foul. I love the chemistry between Namiko and Max. Max gets a little weak at times. And Namiko believes whatever her sister tells her. I hope everything works out. Can't wait to read book 2.
Ok read with some things not so realistic. A few times it thought about stopping but then something would happen to make me keep reading so now I’m kind of invested. Kiyuki is getting on my damn nerves and I wish everyone could see who she really is. Hope she’s exposed soon
Enjoyed the book and am ready for part 2. The heroine's naivete was a bit annoying. Especially when every sentence from her sister was negative, name calling "shade". overall good job Ms. Latrice
Namiko & her two sisters are trying to do the best they can while trying her out survive. They start working for Max Davis making some money &/he pursues phone or them. The issue is its not the one who is plotting on him. As they make things official Kiyuki, Namikos sister start acting funny. All of a sudden bad things start to happen to Namiko. Could this be an ex acting up, one of his many admirers or someone close to Namiko. As she gets closer to Max things get out of hand. Not sure how this will all end but part 2 gonna have a lot of drama as well. When you start choosing money over family there is a lot that could go wrong. Sometimes family is all you got &once you lose it it's gone. Anuki the youngest is trying to finish school. She starts to see a lot of changing in her sisters but not sure why. Cori loves Max & decides she want him to give them a chance. She finally realizes that they never had a loving relationship & backs off or did she. With all going on will it break the friendship up of Deshawn & Max with Deshawn being Cori brother. Good book & on to part 2 to see what's happening.
This book lord!!! I don't know where to even begin!! Poor Namiko she needs to smarten up bless her sweet heart. Yuki needs to be put away out her misery she's crazyyyyy!! Please let this end well for everyone else lol!!
This was a very good read. I love Nami and her younger sister. Now that older sister is a different story. She is beyond dirty. The things she is doing to her sister are beyond ridiculous! She deserves everything that happens to her because she chose to play a dangerous game. Poor Cori should have gone on about her business instead of scheming with Yuki. Now she is in something she barely knows anything about. I so can't wait until part 2! I hope Max and Nami are able to work through all the drama her sister caused!
This book was just okay. I could move on without reading the rest of the series.
Nami is naive but been through some things. Nami’s sister is a hater and she needs to realize it. Max could’ve taken more care her first time. Why would Nami go outside? That was just dumb. Like you know the girls were gonna jump you. It literally makes no sense that Cori would set them up. Like her brother is affiliated.
Nami was 19 but had a birthday and was still 19. Maybe she was just rounding up.
This is a must read. Nami is such an adorable girl. I fell in love with her character immediately. You can tell that she is young and gullible by the way that she tries to see the good in everyone. It's like looking through rose colored glasses, things and people aren't always what they seem. Nothing but drama and more drama. Part 2 is next.
Another great read from Shvonne. I enjoyed this book a lot. First off, Kiyuki worked my nerves something terrible. She's just rotten all the way around. I like Max and Namiko together, even though she was naive and immature. Cori is another lost cause. Can't wait to read part two.
Good read love the love between NaMiko & Max the fit together good, but they are blinded by the enemies among them. Poor Cort got blame for everything that been happen to NaMiko. The saying goes keep your enemy close with this group the enemy are closer then they thought. Can't wait to see wants going to happen in the next installment.
I’m re-reading this book for the second time. I forgot how naive and such a pushover Namiko was. She lets her sister continuously manipulate her. Niyikui is crazy, like need to be in someone’s padded cell. Here’s to her getting her karma. Max needs to wide up and see who’s the cause of all his drama.
At first I was enjoying the book. I appreciate her waiting to marriage. Good message, right? Then right before and after she got married, I thought I was reading a different book. I found myself skimming through pages because everything was just annoying.
Having a sister like Kiyuki makes me glad that I'm an only child. Namiko hopefully will learn who the real snake is in her camp. I liked Max he did have me worried there for minute. I can't wait for part 2.
Would like to start out by saying great book, Namiko was dumb and clueless though, it was plain as day that her sister was jealous of her the whole time. Max was a little too easy going to be a boss in my opinion. The ending had me on my toes, already starting on 2. Great book
Reading this book was like watching a movie!!! It took you through so many twists and turns!!! And I don't know what to say about Kiyuki. How could she do the things she did, man?! She is one crazy chick!!!!
I love the story butbhat that Deshawn is so stupid why 5he author chosento hook him up with the emeny evenwith him bing told that she set him up makes it hard to believe he is smart in the streets. Cant get into dumb characters
