Chance didn’t expect to start his day in the back of a police cruiser. Lucky for him, the man behind the wheel is Chance’s best friend and onetime lover, Jaxon.
Jaxon wants Chance. He has since the first moment he set eyes on the sexy Librarian. Unfortunately, Chance always has bullshit going on, standing in their way. Most men would consider Chance more trouble than he’s worth. Not Jaxon. He can’t get enough of Chance’s constant drama. When Chance’s life spirals out of control—the way Chance’s life always seems to do—Jaxon rushes to the rescue only to end up screwing things up… again.
These two independent souls might drive each other mad, but there’s no denying their love, or the fiery hot passion brewing between them. If only Chance could stop lying to Jaxon, maybe they’d stand a chance.
Undone is a short introduction to Charity Parkerson’s new M/M series, Hooked.

Really need more background story. At the beginning I feel so confused. This is my first book from the author. But I don't really like the writing style. Too many narration not enough dialogue.
Uhhhh,I really don't even know what to say about this one. No that's not true, here it goes. It was way under developed. We had absolutely no background at all regarding the build up to these two characters. Making it almost impossible to care about them at all. Everything happens in 1 night including the epilogue. The obstacle preventing them from being together is utter bullshit, and there is absolutely no steam or sexiness whatsoever. I'm familiar with this author's work and though I don't love the writing style there is another series I'm reading right now that is way better than this. This story seems rushed and not well put together. Now because I have read other works by this author I'm pretty certain we will learn more about these characters in the upcoming books in this series however, this wasn't a good start in an attempt to get someone "Hooked" in order to want to read the rest.
Less than 45 minutes to read... The whole story including the supposed epilogue one night... Senseless all the way around. Sadly, another waste of money.
Unfortunately the story inside doesn't live up to the seriously hot cover.
It's too short, there's not enough story development, in fact there's not really anything much of a story at all, just two blokes getting together and processing love without the reader knowing anything about them.
I know this is an intro to a new series but gaining a couple of sex scenes instead of a narrative to build up the new setting isn't it sadly.
However, I do quite like this author so I will see where she goes with the next couple of stories.
2.5 ~ Ok storey, but lacking background information. I can only assume this is a teaser and the real edition will be complete. What was there was good, but just too many holes.
Undone, Hooked Book 1, by Charity Parkerson is a fantastic read! This M/M romance is a short but great introduction to a new series by this amazing author. Jaxon, a police officer, and Chance, a librarian, are both likeable, characters, and the chemistry between these two is off the charts. The story opens with Chance in the back of Jaxon’s patrol car and only gets more interesting from there. I was immediately drawn into the story to find out how Chance ended up in this predicament and how Jaxon was going to handle the situation. I really enjoyed how these two worked through their issues while dancing around each other. Jaxon has been somewhat patient for a year, but now it’s time for action. Chance has been through a great deal in his life and still managed not to become hardened, but is vulnerable and afraid to let Jaxon in on his secrets. Jaxon, one who tends to act first and ask questions later, has to prove he is up to the often frustrating challenge of opening Chance’s eyes to what is right in front of him. Sam is introduced as a supporting character, and a great friend, and I can’t wait to read his story in the next book in the series, Uneven. Undone could be read as a standalone book, but I couldn’t stop here, and have already bought the next book and am off to get immersed in that one. All in all, Undone is a great read and I highly recommend it. It’s a must read for M/M romance fans.
What a great start to a series. I loved Chance & Jaxon. Chance has had it tough & needed someone to see him & not his mistakes. Jaxon is perfect for him. My only complaint was that it wasn't long enough.. I really look forward to more in this series. I highly recommend this book & all her other m/m books too.
Will definitely have to fallow this series. I have been following one of her other series and loving it. I figured with this author I just couldn't go wrong. It was a short story but I love reading shorter stories now and then. Plus it will set up the books to follow. Highly recommend this book.
Book one of the Hooked series introduced a few characters that we are all going to love. Chance might have a few problems but Jaxon loves him enough to over look everything for just a moment of Chance's time. Really sweet!! We were also introduced to Sam and Holden in which they will continue the series in book 2 to be released in March.
Chance is a darling, and I love the way Jaxon loves him no matter the crazy messes Chance gets into. I wish it would have been a longer story though. The epilogue would have been better if it had spanned out 1-2 years rather than same night. Wanted to have more of a glimpse of their future. Otherwise, though, I loved this story.
This is a great start to the series. Chance and Jaxon love each other but can't find the right rhythm to get it together. A near tragedy finally gets them together and admit their feelings. I really like this Author and can't wait to see where this series goes.
I felt like I blinked and this was over. Jaxon, a police officer, is attracted to Chance, a guy who lives a chaotic sort of life. Although Chance keeps pushing him away, each time Chance takes a tumble, Jaxon makes sure he’s there to catch him. If only he’d value Jaxon in return …
I know this romance was only a short introduction to a series (110 pp), but there wasn’t enough character building or background for me to value either character enough to care what happened to them. There certainly wasn’t time to feel any chemistry. I also had problems with the writing—a lot of sentences started with one of the character’s names: Chance did this, Chance said that—it felt like a police report. Using more pronouns or rearranging the word order occasionally would have helped. US voice actor Hollie Jackson performed ok but it was distracting having a female voice voicing the two male lead characters. Most narrators soften or harden their voice or change the pitch to denote female vs male characters, Hollie didn’t do that and it made it harder to relate to the guys.
Jaxon wants Chance from the moment he sets eyes on him but he just keeps on being surrounded by drama and lies. Many people would consider Chance too much trouble but Jaxon is determined to stay the course as he is worth it to him. When Chance’s life spirals out of control, the way Chance’s life always seems to do, Jaxon rushes to the rescue only to end up screwing things up again. These two independent souls might drive each other mad, but there’s no denying their love, or the fiery hot passion brewing between them. If only Chance could stop lying to Jaxon, maybe they’d stand a chance.
This was a sweet short story to introduce the series. I liked the way that Chance's life was chaotic and that was made worse by his stories and lies but that Jaxon was determined to get past that. There was a great deal of passion in this story and the love between them was off the charts. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content.
This didn't even feel like a story. It was just a string of events loosely related and thrown out there. I had no idea what was happening or why it was happening. The story needed some background information and series attention placed on the development of characters. They were one-dimensional and lacked any appeal.
Chance is a stud that everyone wants, especially Jaxon. He can't get him off his mind, but Chance is troubled by Garrett who is messing with his life. And thus, Jaxon's. And in the middle of all this drama is the fact that Jaxon is a police officer. Thanks to Sam, a fellow officer, Jaxon may have a chance for a relationship with Chance. Written by my friend Charity Parkerson, an award winning writer of adult fiction.
I really enjoyed this short story. I loved the characters. I'm amazed people thought a short story was short. Surely you read the book details before you ordered it. Anyway it was a lovely snapshot in the lives of these people.
When Jaxon stops to help Chance change a flat, he didn't expect to find the love of his life. But...it's complicated and Chance keeps pushing him away. Jaxon doesn't give up and determines to love his secrets out of him. Chance is the one for him and he's not going to let him go!
