Lost and found Love affair.

He was a rookie football player. Out for a night of fun with the boys. She was out with her girls after passing the bar exam. Neither one of these two was looking for anything lasting. Just a little fun. Brad and Tamara Will find out that labels and misconceptions will forfeit their happiness for years to come. They also will find that love always conquers all. I don't want to give anything away this is really a good story I love the way that Brad never stopped loving Tamara no matter what. All through his bad decisions and misconceptions. Through her pig headedness and determination to become a partner in a law firm she works for. This was not a unique story but it was well told. This is my second novel by this author. I'm definitely sticking with her great job!

Just not good

This had a lot of stilted writing so it was off to a rough start. I’m also not a fan of the hero. At the beginning he states that he’s not a one night stand guy and doesn’t seem like a manwhore at all. He meets the heroine and “falls in love” instantly. So what does he do afterwords? He becomes a manwhore and even gets into a 6 month relationship with another woman. She is pretty much and awful person, so he loses even more points just for being willing to be around her for so long. The heroine of course as the poor suffering single mother, has not dated or slept with ANYONE! Of course, even knowing he is a piece of crap manwhore who spent his time screwing a bunch of other women the first thing he asks when they are about to sleep together again is how many men she has been with since him. What the actual heck? Why would he even open that door, with his history? Again loses a bunch of points. He tries to insist on no condom even though he’s been with other women recently, he doesn’t even offer evidence of a clean medical exam. Then suddenly he is the perfect guy and has her tattooed in his chest. This might have worked if they had been equal and he had kept his pants zipped. The author needs to learn that all of his pretty words mean nothing if us actions can’t back it up.

Fast-moving tale of a one-night stand resulting in love at first sight and a huge misunderstanding. Really sweet with lots of hot sex (which this author does really well) and no cliffhanger.

There were a few minor editing issues, but nothing distracting. Although this is book 1, I suspect the subsequent stories will focus on other characters with appearances by Brad, Tam, and family.

Let me quickly add this disclaimer... I LOVE books where one of the characters are famous or well known so my review maybe a little bias but if you take a look at all the other reviews... yeah you already know that this one is a winner.

Now when I read the description of Bradley... I instantly thought... Clay Matthews (who by the damn way I think is hotter than hell) he just fit perfectly as this freaking book character in my mind.. nevertheless the author gave me everything that I needed in this book, interracial relationship, a celebrity and hotness with a adding surprise and just a spoon full of drama... Just freaking perfect!

I fell in love the characters within the first 30% of the book.. and then Uri and Val popped in and that made me giddy.. because it wasn't that long ago that I read their book!

This book just gave me so many feels! It was exactly what I needed and I wish you all could see my freaking face because I am smiling like a pure fool.

Oh and of Brad and his big country ass has been added to my book boyfriend list!

Will recommend to every freaking one!

Signing off... I love this author!

Tamara and Brad came together for one hot scorching night and although the chemistry was off the charts, both thought the other wanted something different and Brad walked away. Five years later Brad finds out he has a daughter and although he is hurt by Tamara's choices, he understands why she did it. Misunderstandings aside, Brad sees his future and plans to prove to Tamara they are meant to be together as a family, lover, and hopefully husband.

I thought this was really well written. It dealt with the complexities of an interracial couple who deal with prejudice from others. Brad is a Quarterback in the spotlight, it was interesting how people treated Tamara. This was a great first book in the Ballers series. Looking forward to more.

Another great read by this author. This is Brad and Tam's story. I liked this story because it was a very romantic read. The couple made assumptions at the beginning of their relationship about each other and wasted 5 years they could have been together. Once they meet up again I love that they were brutally honest with each other and did not try to pretend that they did not feel anything for each other.

I loved how Brad loved, cared and protected his girls and continually demonstrated how much he loved them. Brad was able to show his real emotions when others hurt Tam on a very special evening for them both. That scene really touched me. Great read.

There are some people who leave a lasting impression on the mind, heart body and soul. For Cam that is Tamara. One pushing. The other doesn't want to but ends up summiting the conversation. That leads to their bodies connecting by the end of the night only to draw the wrong conclusions the next day.

Ballers: His Game.. I loved it from the start. Blue puts together a very nice romance that reminds us singles to stick around and clarify any misconceptions you might have. This way you aren't drawing the wrong conclusion that could lead you to missing out on love.

Very good read. I really enjoyed the characters personalities in this one and their love was beautiful to watch as it started and grew. That chest tattoo did me in. It was a shocker. I loved His whole family except for the witch we do not name and I loved Tam's whole family, especially her girl friends. I'm reading Reese and Nico's book right now. Their child was absolutely adorable and my favorite part is how detailed this book got and how much into there future it goes. Very well written and a definite keeper.

Good things come to those who wait
I just loved this book. It is one of my favorite love stories and Bradley Monroe is one of my favorite book baes. This couple, Bradley and Tamara clicked the first night they met in a New York bar. Tamara had never found herself attracted to a man from another ethnic background before, but there was just something about his Texan country butt that she could not resist. Even though they had a one night stand that left them both not knowing how to contact each other, they both regretted not giving each other their contact information. For Tam it was for more reasons than one. She just knew that she was just a booty call for Brad and did not want to interfere in his personal life with her news. That could have been further from the truth for either of them. They never forgot each other or the connection they had to each other in that one night stand and that caused neither one of them to be able to move on, no matter how hard they tried.

Five years down the road with their accidental meeting again in Brad's home state where Tamara had moved to, he find out just what he'd been missing in the last five years. Tamara just knew that Brad would be angry but he was just elated and could not wait to tell his family and the world about his own family. He'd been looking for a woman like Tamara all of his life and when he met her, he made the biggest mistake in his life that caused him to miss her dearly for five years. He was not letting go or let anyone get in between he and Tam again, not exes, not racist in-laws, not bosses and not even football. He had his girls now and he would protect them until his dying day, through any means necessary, even if he had to use the Donati's to do so.

It was great seeing Uri, Valentina, Nico, Reese and Sam to tie in all of the friendships and relationships in this story. I cried crocodile tears reading how Brad felt when he came to the realization that he'd finally found Tamara, and doubly so when he found out he was a father. I could feel the power of his emotions through the words. It was like Brielle instinctively knew who he was and just gravitated to him naturally. Who would not love that little girl, she was so sweet. Everyone loved her except Donna, but she got what she deserved in the end. All of those who tried to interfere with Brad and Tam's relationship got their just rewards in the end too.

Normally one-night stand romances don’t interest me; they usually suffer from paucity in both validity and plot since it’s normally about sex alone. In spite of my concerns I jumped off of the proverbial bridge and read Ballers. My reasoning lie mainly with the unfortunate truth that I was in a dry spell in the book department, so I surmised that a quick, cheesy romance novel would get my book mojo back. However, when I finished this novel I was pleasantly surprised.

Ballers is a sweet adult-fiction, sports, romance novel featuring a football player theme. The novel goes something like this:

Boy meets girl. Girl tells boy she’s not interested.

Boy doesn’t let that deter him. Girl is like, "well, he’s not so bad."

*One-night stand ensues*

Boy thinks girl doesn’t really like him – although he likes her tremendously – so he bolts (not so smart hombre)

Girl wakes up to an empty bed – she’s sad. She really liked him.

Girl finds out something that she keeps from boy (dun dun dun, we all know what that is)

*A bunch of years past*

Girls a successful agent, boys a successful football player.

They meet again, however old wounds heal slowly – but not in this case!

They feel like they never broke up, but life keeps finding a way to tear them down.

Girl pulls away, sad and afraid to hurt the man she loves

Boy pushes girl because his love for her exceeds all else

Sometimes football isn’t so forgiving to the body or the mind, just like life.

Now, to explain why I wrote the review in this odd fashion, I must be candid:

I read this book in January/February, in consequence, this review isn’t the one I wanted to write, but I was forced to alter my previous ideas.

Like all books (except Jane Eyre) there’s good and bad material in this novel. Sometimes the writing was off, others the story line seemed stilted, however, these things didn’t take away from the strong characters of Tamara and Brad and their love for each other. It also didn’t diminish the sweet moments and the truth, in the sad reality of our worlds' views.

3.5 stars. I thought it was well-written, a little too fast-paced and sometimes I found myself questioning Tamara's thought process. She wondered why Brad left after they slept together for the first time even though she had clearly said she was not into white boys and she didn't tell Brad that he was a father. Seeing as she is a lawyer, I would have thought she would have known better. Brad wanting a kid right after finding out about Brielle seemed kind of unrealistic for me. I also think the whole moving from Texas to New York thing is unstable for Brielle. What about the friends she made in both states? What about her school? Moving from school to school has to be difficult. I also wondered how Tamara could really believe what she saw in the video at her engagement party. As a reader, I could tell right away that the video was obviously a fake or at the very least, from a while back. Tamara's lack of trust and insecurity made me question her marrying Brad. Though she was older than him, he seemed more mature.

I did like the dynamic between the two families, Brielle and Six were adorable as was Brad's proposal. Tamara was an okay heroine for me. There were times that I loved her - when she was interacting with her family and friends - and times where I found myself shaking my head at some of her choices. Brad was more likable for me as a reader. He had his faults but his intentions were pure.

Very sweet romance

Nice read, not a unique story but well written with great characters. Brad is a star Quarterback in the NFL, who is in New York for a road game, when he goes out with a teammate clubbing sees a beautiful woman, and even though his main focus is football,he can't help but want her. Tamara has just passed the Bar and is out celebrating with her best friend. She refused to date while focusing on school, but now that she is out,she decides to live a little,so when a handsome stranger sends over a bottle of very expensive champagne, she accepts it and a super hot night with the man who sent it. Soon that night comes back to haunt them and years down the road that handsome stranger is back and he is not leaving w/o a fight.
Not bad at all, Brad and Tamara were super cute and the story was so romantic. Brad was so sweet and hot, whew! And Tamara could hold her own. The sex was WOW! and the romance was everything! If you love a sweet, sexy, romantic read this is the book for you!

UPDATE
Yes, I love this world so much that when I finally made it through my massive amounts of email and noticed new releases... I had to start from the beginning. As a woman, I love these alpha in control men that will do anything to protect their families and the women they love. But I also love these strong woman who stand beside their men, not behind!

Tam and her country boy

Okay I've read this book at least three or more times so of the gate am already telling you to read this story. I love this this over all series and the characters they be having me laugh. Tam and Brad are no exception from the time this couple meets to the very end this couple is meant to be. Tam gives Brad some push back but he handle that with love and patience. I don't want to say to much because seriously you should just read it but before you do please start from the beginning it enriches the reading experience.

So this book was just ok. The premise had intrigued me, and I wanted to give it a shot because I like the author. I'm not reading her books in order, so I didn't know who any of the characters were who were mentioned. But I'd argue that the narrative tells you who they are, so you're good.

As I'm reading her Blackhart Brothers series, I know that this book was written in 2015/6 and you can tell. Her writing has improved in recent memory, but man... the grammatical errors! There were commas in strange places, no dashes where they should've been, and a lack of question marks where they were needed. Some of the characters' internal dialogue was VERY repetitive, and some of it was just weirdly-written. Some of the trains of thought were jumping all over the place instead of following a concise path.

Also, I have to wonder what sort of research went into this book. I'm asking because there's a character who doesn't play in the Super Bowl despite his team making it there. First, Super Bowl should've been capitalized since it's a proper noun. But the character also says that they're gonna sit out for the remainder of the season. Well if your team was fortunate to get to the big game, that is the rest of your season. There aren't anymore games after that-- the SB marks the end of the football season. So it was pointless for the character to even make that statement.

Brielle was a nice character but there was no way that little girl was 4 going on 5. Like, the way her dialogue was written-- I'm a preschool teacher and I had a hard time believing that the character was the age she was portrayed.

Also, there wasn't a plot. Sure, these two people have one night and she ends up pregnant and doesn't tell the guy he's the father. Mostly because he bounced, but when he finds out he's a father, he kinda takes it in stride. And it was accidental how he even found out but kinda not-- like it wasn't really organic. But back to the original point-- there wasn't a plot. It's just these two come together, fight sometimes because there were people around them trying to sow seeds of mistrust, and then they kinda just go away. He's got an ex that we heard about once and then she shows up like some big finale, only to be whisked away never to be heard from again. She had some dude who claimed they were together and tried to front, but ended up getting bitch-slapped verbally and then he disappears. Oh, there's a bitch of a sister-in-law who causes some trouble and even she goes away off-page later on. THERE ARE NO STAKES HERE!!

So fine, ok story and a cool man character. But basically that's it. It's really meh.

I loved it. Though i wasn't expecting the pregnancy thing, I almost DNF because I hate the drope but I kept an open mind and I liked it and couldn't have seen a better direction for this book.

Things I loved

- The fact that this author didn't make the book a politcal one about racism. I loved that she acknowledged it, spoke on it and moved tf on. I also liked that she wasn't delusional enough to make people in Texas open to to interracial realtionship, she kept it realistic and I liked it.

- How much the hero loved the heroine, I swooned so much for this white man.

- The families

- The kid, though at times she seemed to be older than 3/4 years old, like unnaturally too mature for her age

- Good communication between the hero and heroine

Things I didn't like

- How the heroine didn't tell the hero about their child because she was embarrassed. What was she going to tell her daughter when she started asking about her father? I also feel like during her pregnancy she should've swolled her pride and reached out. I understand why she didn't at first, he up and left but she wasn't seeing it from his side. 1. she pushed off all his advances 2. she only got together with him after she was drunk 3. she said she didn't like him because he was white 4. she said no names and made it clear it was a one night stand. With all this, even i would feel as insecure in the morning because he felt like she would regret in the morning, not to say she didn't have a right to also be upset he left but I wouldn't want to face rejection she most likely would've given him either.

- How the hero came into their lives and messed up a routine the heroine built for a while. I get his enthuasism and I liked it but I could understand how the heroine was frustasted. Everything was going extremely fast, for 5 years she basically lived a boring life and now her baby daddy came back and here she and her child are in the spotlight, and her baby daddy isn't willing to take things slow.

- How the heroine always had one foot out the door. I felt like she never put her all into the relationship, hero either found out things on accident or after he begs the heroine to tell him. I feel like if you tell a guy you love him and move in with him, put all your cards on the table.

I understand the reasoning for everything both the hero and the heroine did and no one is perfect so these little things just make the story better.

Touchdown

Brad, Tamara had a one night drunk connection not knowing each others name. For Brad it was instant love, for Tamara there was doubts whether she did right thing by not giving her name. So our of the one night comes Brielle. She us cute, chatty and smart, bright as a button and she draws attention with her chatty nature.

Brad is home in Texas to be near family, not realising that Tamara is also there, they meet up again and Brad has the shock of his life that he is a dad. Brielle captures his heart instantly, and vice a versa for Bri, she is drawn to Brad. Brad is determined to have Tamara back after fives years of thinking of her, other relationships didn't cut it for him, so much so, he has their photo tattooed on his breast. Tamara still shows the attraction she has for Brad and he slowly gets into her heart again.

Family means everything to Brad and he wants Tamara and Brielle in his life always. Their relationship starts to interfere with their work as the taboo of inter-racial relationships don't go well for top pro stars in Texas, Brad does not give a bat to this and pursues Tamara. Brad's family loves Tamara and Brielle, apart from Brad's sister in law Donna, she is a nasty, jealous woman who is not happy. Trevor her husband even doesn't love her anymore. She is spiteful and a racist, the way she talks of Brielle and hiw she thinks Tamara is a gold digger, which is far from truth.
The fact is Donna is the gold digger in her own marriage to Trevor, which he is noticing.

I love Brad's attitude, he goes after what he wants and Tamara and Bri, are his family he does anything and everything to protect them. When his coach and managers are telling him to postpone his wedding and date other people he gets his back up. He and his brother in law take stand and not play the team final pro football match , this makes the tam lose, and they not happy but he stood his ground after finding out what they were doing to Tamara career, clients being dropped.

Tamara and Brad get their happy ending and Brad gets his sons, with another on the way.

Loved the story , connection to everyone and loved Brielle, cute chatter box who can't hold water.

Who doesn’t want a Brad?

Brad and Tamara have a one night stand that leaves them both feeling more than they bargained for. When Brad leaves in the early morning hours without so much as a goodbye thinking Tam doesn’t want more with a white guy, Tam resolves to never try to reach out to him. 5 years later the reunite and Tam has a surprise! As they rekindled their flame, they deal with new dynamics, job issues, racism, etc.

I liked this book a lot! I liked both Tam and Brad so much, they both seemed like real people and it was easy to forgive them for their mistakes. I just loved that when it came time to face Brad, she didn’t beat around the bush about her secret, and he didn’t get mad and hold it against her. Also little Ellie was adorable!

It was nice to see characters from other books by the author show up. I wanted to let Val loose on that Donna and Tiffany. I also wanted to see the team management get publicly called out. Those are just my own personal wish list, I still thoroughly enjoyed the story. Check this one out!

Looking for a country boy

I admit I passed on reading this book several times because truthfully I was caught up in the Brothers Black Series. However, I’m glad I came back to this one. Brad is a baller. Tam is a lawyer. They have one explosive night together but neither one expected a child to come from it. Brad is a country boy and decides to return him to Texas and he runs into Tam and discover they have a daughter. Most men would be pissed or want to flex but not Brad. He falls head over heals in love with Tam and his daughter but not everyone is happy for them. I loved that Brad was strong but not domineering. I loved that Tam was super focused on her goals and took care of business. It’s a good book with some sweet moments and drama. Will they have a happy ending? You have to read it and see.

Delightful

Wow! The was a thoroughly entertaining book. It's somewhat vengeful, full of romance and delicious, with some enlightened and caring moments at the same time. The story has good progression and very well developed and compelling characters. The writing definitely makes me want to read all the other related books. But what I enjoy most about this book are the twists and turns. It’s not just a typical romance, since it has elements of suspense and of course throughout the entire time there’s something that’s just simmering beneath the surface, and that along with the depth of passion that the main characters have it just makes this book such a page turner. I'm so excited for the next book in the series and oh did I forget the cliffhanger but it's still worth staying up nights to binge on this series!
