Audio book, same readers, nicely done.
3.5 stars rounded up cause I liked it that much.
Darien and Thea. Thea is the human friend who was also kidnapped in the last book.
Being kidnapped in the last book was a wake up call for Thea. She was the kinda ditzy girl who trusted others too much. Now she's just trying to get past the trauma and nightmares with the help of Darien.
There is still the danger of the thugs who tried to sell her in the last book.
I liked the MCs in this one. Both were decent and able to communicate so misunderstandings were kept to a minimum.
Thea learns that she is tougher than she thought and Darien learns that Thea is just what he needed.
A very quick read/listen.

Another great book in series. Standalone.

Kindle Unlimited book. This one continues where last one left off but with new people so it can be read as a standalone. She was kidnapped and he takes her in after she's rescued. A great story of revenge, love, and understanding. Solid 5 star read.

Another awesome story...

...by the amazing Kenzie Cox. I really loved Thea and Darien. They both had a shyness about them that was so endearing. I look forward to the rest of the series. I hope there are more coming.

Darian and Thea heat up early in their story, and once that spark catches, it burns hot. Their chemistry is intense, but what really grabbed me was the emotional depth behind it. Darian is clearly torn—he wants to claim Thea as his mate, but he’s also holding back, hoping she grows stronger on her own so she can survive everything she’s facing. It’s not about keeping her at a distance—it’s about wanting her to rise, and that made their connection even more powerful.

I loved the emotional push and pull between them, and how they were constantly fighting for each other, even when they didn’t fully agree. There’s a mutual respect that grounds all the heat, and watching Thea come into her own while Darian works through his protective instincts made for such a satisfying arc. This was another great addition to the Wolves of the Rising Sun series—passionate, heartfelt, and exactly what I was hoping for.

Amazing

Spoilers
So this book carries on from the last one and revolves around Thea and Darien. She was kidnapped in the last one and this is the conclusion to that one. Love that this one the women gets to be the hero for herself after getting her own back on her attacker right in the eye. Gross....
I've been so caught up these books that I hadn't even noticed that I had read all but one of the series the other I'm going to read after this is posted they are that addictive. Theses are perfect summer reads and the price is worth it but I would like them to be a little longer. But I can't get enough of them...

Becoming a Warrior

Awesome storyline kidnapped by human traffickers, save then in recovery. He was just to watch her, keep her safe, but it became more.
Filled with action, drama, the plot that keeps twisting. Friend or foe.

It left something to be desired . . .

It was ok but it wasn't as intense, exciting or as hot as the others.

Darien: Wolves of the Rising Sun #6Kenzie Cox

Reviewed by SFF Dragon

Comfort and friendship turn to love, claiming and a HEA for true mates Darien and Thea in this terrific story.

I love The Wolves of the Rising Sun by Kenzie Cox and I was given a copy of 'Darien', the sixth book in the series by the author in exchange for an honest review. Well written in the first person, but with alternating points of view, this book is also part of the multi-author Mating Season Collection of stand alone paranormal romance short stories and novellas and I absolutely loved it. Although written as a stand alone complete with it's own happily ever after, and there's enough background in the story that it can be easily be read as one, the characters and situation carry on from the previous book and you would get more out of the story if read 'Silas' first.

Having been kidnapped by her so-called friend Will, a human trafficker, a few weeks ago and rescued by her friend Hannah, her mate Silas and a few others, Thea is terrified to go home and is staying in Hannah's old cabin at the Bayou Hidden Resort owned by Silas Davenne and his brothers Darien and Wren. Plagued by nightmares and unable to sleep, she's on the steps of the cabin when Darien finds her in the early hours of the morning and decides she's in no fit state to be on her own, so he takes her to his cabin. She's been there ever since and they've settled into a comfortable routine as just friends. But Darien and his wolf want more from Thea, they want to claim her as their mate, they're just waiting until she gets over the trauma of her kidnapping first. Unfortunately, when Hannah tells her Bella, Thea's friend and neighbour, called to say Will was hanging around her apartment, it becomes obvious that he's not only not behind bars where he's supposed to be, but trying to recapture her. Darien really isn't prepared to let that happen, Thea is his mate, so the Davenne brothers and their cousin Smoke plan to strike first.....

I really don't want to give any spoilers but this fantastic addition to the series has some really great characters, although the jury's still out on FBI agent Fischer, but for me, he's had bad guy written all over him from his very first appearance in the series. It has humour, some action, a steamy bit or two and the happily ever after we all expect. I can't wait for the next one which I hope will have Wren, who describes himself as the last one standing, falling head over heels.

Darien by Kenzie Cox
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
One of my favorite things about this series is that it is more like a serial. Each month we get a continuing part of the pack story line.
This book picks up right up after Silas and Hannah’s book. With Hannah’s friend Thea. She had been kidnapped and almost sold into human trafficking ring but was saved. This book starts with Thea staying with Darien’s at his house because she is too frightened to stay alone. The two have found an easy connection and enjoy each other’s company. Thea has become a strong woman after her ordeal and will not be a victim again. Darien loves watching Thea and wants Thea but is afraid of a rejection especially after what she survives. When one of Thea’s old friends with benefits show up at Daren’s house the couple come to terms with what they are feeling. Silas, Hannah and Smoke get a lead on the kidnapper and go to try and hunt him down. However, the kidnapper is a step ahead and goes to get Thea.
The story line was really great, quick and I cannot wait for the next book!! It seems that the “Last Man Standing” might not be standing alone too long!!

I love these books - they are like your favourite TV drama - each leads seamlessly into the next!

We rejoin the gang after Thea has been rescued from the Human Traffickers. She is now staying with Silas, as the others are all loved up and/or newly mated so she doesn't want to be a 3rd wheel. She somehow feels safe and not intimidated by the brooding Darien. She's determined to never be a victim again, but one step at a time - she needs to be able to sleep on her own first!

Darien feels a connection to Thea but doesn't want to crowd her after what she's been through. He doesn't want to come across as another male wanting to own her. Thea also feels the connection but is scared to make a move in case Darien rejects her, cos what if he's just being a nice guy and doesn't really want her?

But what happens when one of Thea’s old friends with benefits shows up and tries to rekindle their intimate escapades? Have we seen the last of the traffickers, or will they once more rear their ugly heads?

Fabulous fast paced read and the so called “Last Man Standing” may not be standing for that much longer! Love the snarky humour between the siblings and their friends and the passion just sizzles off the page!!

I was given an ARC of Darien from the author, in exchange for an honest review.

I devoured this installment of Kenzie's "Wolves of the Rising Sun", quickly losing myself in the words I was reading. And what words they were. Too quickly for my liking I was finished.

Darien has promised to protect Thea as she recovers from the trauma of being kidnapped, he's there for her, but his wolf is growing attached.... Thea doesn't want to leave Darien, but feels she's in the way, especially after her life has been turned upside down recently.....

The interractions between Darien & Thea were fun to read, whilst Darien's wolf starts feeling a bond, Thea & Darien can't seem to get the correct words out. That ending, just WOW. I can't wait to read what happens next.

Darien is book 6 in Kenzie's "Wolves of the Rising Sun" series, which in turn is a part of the "Mating Season" pack series. A set of books from 6 authors, 6 different packs & an individuals story on finding their mate. I'm hoping that wasn't the last novella from Kenzie's "Wolves of the Rising Sun" I've really enjoyed what I've read so far & I can't wait to delve into the other authors work in the "Mating Season" series.

Darien: Wolves of the Rising Sun #6 (The Mating Season Collection)
by Kenzie Cox

Thea Johnson had been kidnapped to be sold in slave trade. She was rescued by Silas and Hannah before they could get her out of the country. She has been spending her time at the Resort ran by the Davenne brothers. After spending a night in a cabin by herself and having nightmares, Darien offers to have her stay with him. She feels safe with Darien, much safer then she ever has before. She would like to take things further then being friends, but she knows that shifters have mates and she would love to be Darien's mate.

Darien is drawn to Thea. Not just because of what has happened to her but because she is a beautiful woman. He and his wolf both want to make her theirs, but is it to soon to take things further. When Thea makes a comment that maybe it is time for her to leave Darien has to do some fast talking to keep her there.

Kenzie does it again, Darien is told from both Darien and Thea's POVs.

In the previous book, Silas, Thea--friend of Hannah was kidnapped by her friend and human trafficker, Will. After Thea's rescue, she decided to remain in the bayou with Hannah at the Bayou Hidden Resort owned by Darien, Wren and Silas. Staying in Hannah's old cabin, Thea is overcome with the nightmares. After witnessing Thea's distress, Darien suggest that she stays with him. Settling into a routine, Darien and his wolf see Thea as a mate, not just a friend. Afraid of scaring her off, he doesn't confront Thea, but rather remains friends.

However, Will, despite being put in jail, is found lurking around Thea's apartment in the city. Seems Will has some loose ends, namely Thea. Never to shy away from a happily ever after, the story is full of action, humor and romance.

I received an ARC of Darien for an honest review.

Kenzie Cox delivers another story full of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Things are getting really interesting and I can't wait to see what is going to happen next!

These stories can be read as a stand-alone, however, the would be best enjoyed if you read the series from at least Chosen, book 4 in the series. There is a continuing thread that runs through these books and the full impact of the story will be gained by reading them from there. Kenzie does a great job of filling in the details so you won't be lost.

This is a great series and I can't wait to see what happens next!

I was gifted a copy of this manuscript from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Thea was staying with her best friend and her pack to recover being kiddanaped by a slavery ring. Being with Darien is the only thing that seem to help her and he has promised to protect her. The more time they spend together the more his wolf wants Thea and the more Thea is sure she has never felt like this about anyone before. But she isn't safe. Danger is hunting for her.
Every time I think these stories can't get ant better they do! This one is Great. Lots of hot and spice and the action and mystery I crave in a romance. The characters miss cox has developed are awesome and I love how each story builds to make an fantastic series hunting the bad guy!
Not to be missed it's fantastic
Book gifted for an honest review and I honestly loved it.

Suspense, Intrigue and Hot Wolves....Oh My

Kenzie Cox newest book Darien is book 6 in Wolves of the Rising Sun part of the Mating Season Collection. The a is a woman who needs help. She had been kidnapped, rescued and the people responsible are still out there trying to get her back for their human trafficking ring. Darien is Silas' brother. Together they are trying to keep The a safe and bring down the trafficking ring. The suspense and intrigue make this one of the best books in the series. Gorgeous shifters and sexy damsels make it a hot read too. I'm looking forward to the rest of the collection.

This is not going to end well…for the bad guys!
Darien has been helping and comforting Thea after her ordeal and it’s killing him to remain gentlemanly. Little does he know Thea doesn’t want him to! As things are heating up there, the mysterious Will shows back up and causes trouble and again what is up with Fischer,, he seems to be right in the middle of trouble but when things don’t go his way he claims “good guy under cover” not sure I’m buying it! This continues to be an outstanding series within the phenomenal Mating Season Collection, I just can’t get enough of these characters!

Another great addition to the Wolves of the Rising Sun. It was great seeing Thea come back from her ordeal in the previous story. Darien was the perfect guy to help her. I'm excited for the next story, and I can't wait to see how everything plays out. Fischer has been a mystery, and I really can't wait to see what is going on with that. I love how so many of these characters have a lot more going on than we originally see. It makes for some very interesting plot twists. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thea Johnson was kidnapped by a "friend" who was going to sell her to his Russian friends but she was saved and now she just wants to recover. Darien Davenne is hanging around Thea after the kidnapping to help her in her recovery but his wolf seems to have other plans like take her as their mate.

I loved the story line flow in the book and the interaction of the characters. It was smooth sailing from start to finish
