Beginning on 1st July 1997 and ending in June 1998, this diary documents a football season during which Elleray refereed 51 matches, ranging from major contests to school games. Elleray offers frank opinions on several of England's leading players and managers, and on issues concerning the game.
Quite interesting, good subject matter, interesting to see football matches from the ref's POV, but got quite annoyed with the writing style after a bit and got the subject got a bit samey after a while. Also interesting to get an insight to the life of a master at Harrow Public School. Just started reading something else instead.
