I started the Rebel Walking Series about a year ago and fell in love with Luke's story. The author made it clear how hurt and distraught he was and left us hanging when he received a letter from "freebird". To say I was truly excited when I preordered the book is an understatement, I was dying for this book to come out since I read the series in less than 2 weeks. I was truly upset when I received this book.

-----SPOILER ALERT------

First, I never expected the author to put the two previous books of Luke and Lilly. More than half of the book was about the stories I have already bought and read. If I wanted a refresh, I would have picked up those books to re-read them. I was looking forward to a good book like the rest, what I got was something that looked completely rushed.

Second, I absolutely hated the ending. Kimber became such and important part in Lukes life and I was disappointed to see how quickly she was dismissed after finding Lilly. Don't get me wrong, I think Lilly and Luke belong together but I would've at least liked to have seen Luke make complete amends with Kimber then introducing Kimber to Lilly, not as a detective but a friend and confidante after the hell he had been in. This would've easily tied together had the author not rushed the story. I won't even get in to the story about Kimber ending up with Aiden!

Lastly, the ending sucked! It was too basic. Lilly was missing, her dad was after her, Kimber kills her dad, Luke gets to the hospital in time for the birth, the baby is born, THE END. I'm still thinking WTH just happened and where is the rest of the book? I'm disappointed and sad the author rushed this story. It's like she didn't know what to put together after such a long lapse of time so she shortened Luke and Lilly's story.

Overall, I can't give it more than one star. I hope she decides to please her fans by making another book about Lilly and Luke or at least a mini novella about them. At least something to tie everything together properly, I doubt it but one can only hope.

I give it 2 1/2 stars. I was looking forward to the end of Luke's story. Unfortunately I hated it. It was a f***ed up ending. I thought it was a sh*tty way to treat her. Considering how long it took the author to finish this series, I thought it would have been better.

I have loved the Rebel Walking series since book 1. Luke is my absolute favorite and I couldn't wait for this book. I have also fell in love with Kimber and this book has made me love her even more!! She is selfless person and puts Luke's happiness before her own.

When Luke comes back to the life he left behind to start a new life with Kimber, he never expected to receive the phone call he has wanted to get for months. Kimber is excited to start her life fresh and happy Luke's family excepted her immediately. When Luke gets a phone call from Lilly and hears she's in danger, Kimber let's her love for Luke push her to help save the love of Luke's life and unborn child. What do you do when the love of your life is supposed to be dead, but with just one phone call you realize she really isn't dead?

I am giving this 4 stars for the writing itself. The book is short and does feel a bit rushed, but it is well written.

Rant ahead with spoilers

First you slay my emotions with Lilly's death. Then the angst of living for Luke until you bring him a ray of sunshine with Kimber just to bring back Lilly and leave Kimber in the wind!#?! FFS this whole thing ticked me off. We didn't even get a proper discussion between anyone. There's Lilly and two weeks later they're a family. Not a happy camper at all. I see Kimber will be getting a story, but I feel like saying who cares...my give a damn got up and left.

The way this ended, I feel the whole Kimber part of the story could have been a dream and Luke woke up to take Lilly to the hospital.

I have been waiting for this book for what seems like forever, and Hilary Storm did NOT disappoint in finishing Luke’s story!

When we last left Luke, him and Kimber were heading home after the band found him, and he is still dealing with the loss of Lilly. Kimber knows that there is always a part of Luke that she will never have, but she loves him and knows she is going to have to be the rock for Luke now that he’s heading home.

Watching everyone embrace Kimber, and show Luke how much they missed him was beautiful. I loved how quickly the girls brought Kimber into their circle, and how at ease Luke seemed being back with his friends and family. Luke has a hard time dealing with the ghost of Lilly being everywhere. He knows he’s not OK, but he’s living with the fake it till you make it mentality. You know he loves Kimber, but Lilly is and will always be the girl who holds his heart entirely.

If you’ve followed Luke’s story in No Strings Attached and Fighting the Odds you know that there is something that is shocking, and when Luke finally sees the letter, everything seems to fall apart for him. My heart hurt for him in this part of the book, but I grew to love Kimber’s character even more. She is selfless and the only thing she wants is to see Luke happy. What she did for him brought me to tears and I adore her for this.

I was both on Team Kimber and Team Lilly, and most of all I was on Team Luke. I wanted him to be happy, and Kimber made him happy, but if he had the chance to have Lilly back, I know we would see the Luke we had come to love in previous books. This story takes some major turns, and it had me crying, and gripping my kindle in anticipation. To say that this was an amazing ending to Luke’s story is an understatement. I am both happy and sad with how things ended, but I’m happy that Luke finally got his HEA that he’s deserved for so long!

I can’t wait to see what Hilary Storm has in store for us next in this series. I have come to love each and every one of these characters and will be waiting for the next book!

SPOILERS:
I'm undecided. I love this series. and I liked Lily and Luke together and was sad that she "died", and watching Luke struggle was tough and enjoyed his story with Kimber, that she helped him through the hard dark times of getting over Lily. So I was looking forward to the end of his story that he finds happiness with kimber, but all that to get attached and have Lily be alive and pregnant with his child, in protective services, hiding from her dad who wants her inheritance. like I said I adore the series and charachters but it just was strange because we mourned Lily and grew to like Kimber because she brought happiness to Luke. only to have everything turn upside down. Kimber was a good fit for him and he helped her get away from all the negative in her life. I know Lily was his true love, soul mate, and it's beautiful, their connection. but I felt bad for Kimber who in he end, lost everything

"Love hurts....Love is harsh....Love is beautiful..."
This latest release in the Rebel Walking Series is another emotional 5 STAR ride! If you don't read any of the other books in this series, at least read the previous books based on Luke's story; No Strings Attached and Fighting The Odds before reading Never Say Goodbye.
Finding love only to tragically lose it, learning to feel and try to love again, and finally having the opportunity to get back everything that was once lost makes up Luke's three part story. Written in such a way that will touch your soul and have you feeling the characters' pain and turmoil. This love triangle will shatter your heart!! I can't wait to see what awaits the removed angle of this trio! I'm so ready for the next installment, Whiskey Dreams!!

3 stars for The real h and that's it. Luke is just selfish and I feel bad for the other chick but really she was just a fill in. His heart was always with Lilly. I hate that I had to read love scenes with them before the twist at the end. He said he loved this other woman after a week to his friends?!?! What??? It took him years to realize this about Lilly and even then she had to die for him to say it! What the hell is this bullshit? I guess it wasn't really love but still! Honestly the whole thing was just messed up. The twist and my girl aT the end is the only reason this got any stars from me.

I absolutely love the Rebel Walking series! I have been dying for this book every since I read that tease at the end of Fighting the Odds.
I knew if what I thought was true, really was true it was not going end good. The only thing saving me from hating Luke was the fact that he NEVER lied to Kimber, Lilly would always hold his heart.
Damn if I don't LOVE Kimber!!! She is strong, selfless and totally badass when she needs to be. She deserves so much happiness and I think it took loving Luke to heal her broken parts and she can now move forward.
Can't wait for the next one!!

Disappointing

I'm really disappointed in this book. Not worth the money or as a sequel to the series. Feel like she was trying to fix killing off Lilly and have a happy ever after blah blah. Dumb and not a worthy read. Probably will skip the next one.

Meh

I wasn't happy with the ending of the last book, but I had to know how it was going to happen. The overall impression I have is that the author had a lot more backlash than she thought she would with killing off Lilly so she tried to redeem herself by creating a magical fix. It felt forced, it felt thrown together haphazardly, it felt like a fake story line. I don't believe it. I don't believe that all Lilly's friends and mother would not have known it was not her dead in that casket during the funeral. That detail was conveniently overlooked and not discussed in this book. If this was how the author originally wanted to play this story out then there would have been more foreshadowing around her death and funeral. I'm glad Luke will be happy, but I don't like Lilly's situation, it just didn't sit right with me.

I will, however, be reading Kimber's story because I have invest this much time to the series I might as well finish it now.

I don't know what to rate this book.......

I have to many emotions right now to rate it.

Don't know if that's a good thing or bad.

................................................................................................

I've had sometime to think this book over and try to re-evaluate my rating on this novel and I've come to the conclusion that I just can't.

When I started the Rebel Walking series I was hooked I couldn't get enough of these books and I couldn't get them fast enough. This continued all the way through until this book. Luke had my heart from the beginning of this series and after reading this book he's lost it!

I knew this book was going to be emotional even before I started it so I went into it with an open mind. However, with that being said all I could come up with is that I hate Luke and Free Bird. I wish it had been executed differently, I wish Free Birds excuse had more meaning for why she did what she did, and I wish that Luke showed more hurt and sympathy for what he was doing. I just didn't get the closure I needed from either of these characters in order to be okay with the outcome.

I will continue to read the story because I just need redemption for the other character, if it wasn't for that...I don't think I would have continued.

Always,

Amanda*

Good but....

To say we have waited a long time for this book is not a fair thing to say. I understand it took a while but it takes time. My issue is the length. I felt the length of the book was not worth the price. I loved the entire series and have every book. Now I have two of the books twice. This should have been a novella not a book. The author should have warned people this was done. I thought I was getting a web new book but I didn't. With that being said, the novella itself was good. I loved the story and was shocked with the inside of the story. I love Luke and Lilly together but I also love Kimberly. She was there picked up the pieces, did what she did and looses. I did love that everyone continued to check on her but....Each book in the series is a stand alone but I highly recommend starting at the beginning so you understand all the characters as you see them throughout each book.

Luke's Happy Ever After

Who says rock stars don't deserve them too ;) This story picks up right where Fighting the Odds left off. In fact my copy came with all three Luke stories in one! The will be tears, sex, tattoos, guitars, laughs, and more! I love the rebel walking series. If you haven't tried it start with In a Heartbeat :) And now a bit about the story...

Taron, Talon, and Holden have just saved Luke from the fight. Luke introduces his band mates to Kimber and back home they head. Luke is worried about performing again, heck even going home again. He and Lilly spent so much time there writing songs... But things start to fall into place, until the weird phone calls and letters... now what have the rebels got themselves into...

Favorite passages:
- “I've learned you don't wait in life. You conquer your dreams. Life is too f*ck!ng short for anything less.”
- "Hello." He sits up with a rapid movement, frightening me.

Wonderful surprising ending to a great story.

Hilary has really started something with this one. Not only do we get the ending to Luke's story, but we get it all in one book. Six books in the series and three of them are Luke. But we all love him and now we finally get to see how his story ends. Luke was the bad boy guitar player. Lilly was the bad girl bass player. And Kimber was the girl trying to get away. Tho the story didn't end the way I had originally thought it would, I don't think I could ask for a better ending for this story. Sometimes running away helps heal some wounds. But sometimes facing them head on you find that what you think happened isn't the case at all. "Love hurts. Love rips you open and leaves you raw." But sometimes you have to sacrifice what you love for the better of everyone else. Love the series!!! Love these bad boys that have stolen our hearts and love the women that have stolen theirs!! Can't wait to see what's next!!!

The Book:**
The Feels: **
The Appeal: ***

Uhh… WTF?!?

Why was this not a part of the last book? First, you give me the teaser you called Fighting the Odds, and now you give me this unrealistic tale?

Where did this story change come from?

I thought the idea of Luke falling for Kimber after a week was unrealistic. Now, Lilly’s alive, pregnant, and in protective custody because a father I’ve never heard of? I’m going to have to go back to No Strings Attached just to make sure I didn’t miss that little breadcrumb.

I knew Kimber was a badass, but she singlehandedly kills a dude who is supposed to be so dangerous that they had to fake his daughter’s death. Come on man!

Luke’s story started out so hot, but this whole thing just fizzled out and died a slow death. The only thing that I liked was that Luke ended up with Lilly, but that meant Kimber got shafted… and now I’m back to feeling bipolar. FML…

I can't give too much of a review without revealing spoilers. I love Luke, his story ripped my heart apart. He was so lost without Lily and he needed Kimber just as much as she needed him. The story continues where the last book leaves off. Luke won the fight and Kimber will be safe and the guys are in California to bring him and Kimber back home.
Kimber loves the gang and they accept her with open arm. Luke is finally letting loose a little, letting his old self out. Until the letter and the phone call.
You have to read this book, which I find out is not the conclusion to Rebel Walking. There is another book which you will be happy to find out. The ending was both good and upsetting. Your heart is happy and breaking at the same time.
I hope we don't have to wait too long for the next book!!

I have been waiting for this book forever.

Thank you for including Luke's complete story in this book, I was able to read the first two novels and then the final one of Never Say Goodbye.

I never saw the ending coming for this one. I was devastated when Lily died in the car accident. I was thrilled when he found Kimber and thought that maybe he was coming back to the music. The ending of book two with the letter left me wondering what really was going on and could Lily be alive. I will not give away the ending but suffice it to say the Hilary once again had me wondering what was happening and crying, laughing and finding happiness.

I was also glad it caught us up on the rest of the band.

I look forward to continuing Kimber's journey.

Wow this is the first book I have read of Hilary Storm's it was amazing, full of Suspense, and twists, and turns, it pulled me in right from the beginning. I loved Luke, parts broke my heart and I didn't think the tears would stop. So glad he met Kimber, she really touched my heart, such an amazing women, and the sacrifices she made for Luke, well she stole my heart, I really looked up to her, she had a heart of gold. And the twist at the end, I couldn't put the book down until I was finished, outstanding, It melted my heart. Can't wait to read more of her books!

Finally!! The conclusion to Lukes story! This book had me intrigued from the get go. I could feel in the pit of my stomach that Hilary was going to throw me a curve ball and well yep she sure did but it was a curveball that I personally liked. I understand that people may be pissed because they are Kimber fans and things didn't work out like you thought. This story is an example of how people we meet can help lead you to where your MEANT to be and WHO you're meant to be with. Although I am a Kimber fan I was and always have been a Luke and Lilly fan first! :)

I love this series and the author. I was waiting for this book, and I really wanted to love it, but I didn't. I wanted to see more of Lilly and her pov. The ending was basically straight to the point and it left me wanting more. Overall it was an okay book. That being said, I will continue to read more books by this author.

I read this book in less then 3hrs. Loved it and couldn't wait for this book to release. My only gripe is its too short. Waited so long for this book and I would have liked to read more about Luke and Lilly. And what happened with the band or more about the baby. It just seemed unfinished. But can't wait for Whiskey Dreams. I hope there's more to come from this group.
