I love my big brother, Nate, and I have no reservations about moving in with him at all. It’s his roommate and best friend, Ryan, who’s the issue; because I love him, too...or at least I did when I was fifteen. And he hates me…or at least he did when he was eighteen. Well, I think he did. I can’t think of another explanation for the way he treated me.
When Natalie Connor's parents are killed in a car accident, she's left with no choice but to move more than a thousand miles from the home she's always known, to live with her big brother, Nate, and his best friend, Ryan. With anxiety playing a large role in her life, the loss of her loving parents, feelings that still linger for Ryan, and an online relationship to complicate matters even further, can Natalie find a way to be happy and grow into the person she wants to become? Or will all the lies ruin the love she's waited so long to discover? ***This book is intended for readers 18+ due to adult language and situations.***
This is your typical boy isn't very nice to his best friend's sister with a unique twist. In this case we have Nate and his little sister Natalie who had a crush on him for years. Ryan is his name and I really liked him. Ryan's childhood wasn't a pleasant one. Nate and Natalie's parents are the ones who nurtured him and made him feel valued. The two boys leave for college when Nat is sixteen, she never sees Ryan again. Fast forward six years later, Nate and Leslie's parents are killed in a crash sending Natalie(21) to go live with Nate and... Ryan.
I wasn't too sure about Natalie. She basically stayed out of society tucked away inside her room only socializing in a chat room basically with one person, Land. They develop a very close relationship over five years. They don't know each others name, age , any type of personal information for a very long time! Not even descriptions of themselves. It bothered me that she was such a recluse but oh well not a very big deal because I loved the story none the less.
Ryan's actions have Natalie confused, he seems to have changed, he's nice and seems caring yet she feels it's just a game to him and at any minute the younger Ryan will surface. It was clear to me he loved her. So as the story went on they danced around each other but they were hot for each other. I felt she never really matured for quite awhile. She was definitely shy and gee, that big brother of hers didn't want her to work because putting her out there would cause more anxiety attacks. Thank God she wanted to eventually because between that and time around Ryan she started to grow. Throughout the story Leslie was still corresponding with Land even though Ryan tried to discourage it. A man named Elliot enters the story as well and Ryan isn't happy with that as well.
I stayed so entertained that I lost track of time and oh it was so late! I don't know what it is but my taste in reading are starting to expand. I do have to admit sweet is nice but I have to have dirty included there, (just do, I kinda get bored without it) I am pleasantly surprised that I have not been disappointed, maybe a few times but luckily it was a good enough story so I made it through easy enough.
I knew I'd love Land... and oh do I ever. I am not happy with that cliffy though! So many times I've wanted to jump in a book and slobber all over a crying man!

From the moment I read the blurb I knew that this was going to be my kind of book. I am a big lover of New Adult, there is just something about the innocence during the beginning of adult hood and discovering love...sigh! Elle Ellerton wrote Blurred Lies from Natalie's point of view and did a phenomenal job of showcasing Natalie's feelings and emotions. She drags us into Natalie's anxious, scary, new reality of life without her parents after their accident. As readers we get to experience her highs and lows, confusion, past hurts, and see her love for Ryan grow. Ryan and Natalie together are smokin' hot whether it is in the shower, back of a truck, or a bed, they know how to heat things up!
Natalie has just lost her parents and her life has been uprooted to go and live with her brother and his best friend. She is anxiety ridden, lacks confidence, and is a total introvert. She spends her time writing memos and such for money and talking to a male friend in a chat room. I loved seeing Natalie blossom into her own person during the story. She became more confident about who she was and she began to shine. There would be no way that Ryan wouldn't be able to see this beauty and not fall in love. She made such an awe inspiring transformation in the face of the grief over her parents where stronger people might have crumbled. She began to build a new life that overshadowed her former life and made her a more self assured, beautiful woman.
Ryan Landon is quite the enigma throughout Blurred Lies. He is sexy, sweet, guarded and everything a young woman like Natalie needs and wants. I fell for Ryan right away knowing he a troubled past and the care he shows towards Natalie along with that ripped body, who could resist? I have this feeling that the mystery of Ryan will be unveiled more in Blurred Truth and we will see what makes this handsome guy tick.
Elle Ellerton brings us a love story that has been developing over many years, surprises, and lots of passion. I highly recommend for lovers of New Adult. Ryan and Natalie will rock your emotional foundation and make your heart melt.
This is my first time reading any of Elle's books, this book was amazing, put me through so many emotions. Make sure you have tissues near when reading it.
I loved this book. From the first few pages I was hooked.
I loved the slight back story that bleeds through into the main story line explaining how the characters came to be in the apartment together. I think I fell for Ryan as hard as Natty did. As I read, their relationship grew and blossomed into more than an uncomfortable friendship it looked possibly destined to be from the start. I enjoyed meeting all the other characters in the book and the world they lived in expanded. I loved the twist at the end, although I had an inkling from the start, it built drama and tension. Then the book ended and I was left with a very bad book hangover and I've immediately started on book 2 seeking answers and resolution.
This was one of those books where I was reading way past my bedtime! I couldn't stop, I was hooked from the beginning! Natalie has just lost her parents in a car crash and moves to live with her older brother Nate, and his roommate Ryan, who Natalie had a crush on as a teenager. The book is in Natalie's POV and I loved the author's style of writing and Natalie's thoughts and feelings were so real and true that they had me giggling. I loved her insecurities, but also how she was willing to extend herself and wanted to move forward. Her relationship with Ryan had just the right amount of tension and sweetness and I loved Nate's caring nature to his sister. I love New Adult reads and this one was written exactly how I like them, a true 5 star read for me!
Seriously glad that I took a chance on a author that I had never heard of!! I loved this book and can't wait to read the next one, Blurred Truth! I recommend that if NA is your genre to read, give this book a chance.
Enjoyed reading this so much, I loved all the characters and found them really easy to relate to. I like how the story moves fast, there were never any points where I thought it was dragging. I would definitely recommend reading it!
Originally published as two separate books (Blurred Lies & Blurred Truth). Re-edited to create this dual point-of-view, full-length novel. This book has no cliffhanger.

Blurred Lies is the first book by Elle Ellerton that I have read and I absolutely loved it! A well written, fun read!
I really liked Natalie and could totally relate to her! Nate and Elliott were really fun too and added an interesting dynamic to the story. My favorite person in the story was Ryan though. So sweet… super swoon-worthy! I’d love to find a guy like him..lol… You can’t help; but root for Natalie and Ryan to somehow find their happily ever after.
After some pretty interesting twists at the end; this story ended with one heck of a cliffie! I can’t wait to dive into Blurred Truth and see how Natalie and Ryan’s story unfolds!
Truly an enjoyable read, but I often found Natalie to be too naive and teenagery for a 21 year old. I would have liked the author to have given us more information about past online conversations between Natalie and Land.
I wasn't drawn to the relationship that developed between Natalie and Ryan. I would have liked to know more about Ryan to feel what the heroine felt. More information on Natalie would have helped too.
I love this story! I can recognise myself in the female character Natalie and I feel with her. But also with Ryan and I wonder what his motive was to do what he did. I really need to read the second book.
Gosh, I don't even know how to use the right words to express how I felt reading this book. A lot of emotions was definitely a thing and it wasn't the usual alpha male/sassy girl story, which is refreshing.
DNF.....Gaaaah I just couldn't get into this. I was so eager to read this book after seeing so many great reviews but I just didn't like the writing style unfortunately.
