An elite assassin. A downed bomber. He’ll steal back secrets to save the free world…Ari Cohen has seen enough bloodshed to last him several lifetimes. As Mossad’s deadliest assassin, he’s prepared to swear off special assignments for good. But when a U.S. stealth bomber is shot down and stripped of its top-secret technology, Ari prepares for one last mission…

The search through the rubble reveals bloodthirsty terrorists and a chilling conspiracy. While the cutting-edge weaponry would be deadly in the hands of a terrorist sect, if it’s obtained by a notorious spy network, the damage could be catastrophic…

With a little help from the U.S. president herself, Ari must steal back the technology before the exchange is made. If he can't achieve his mission, his failure could seal the fate of the free world forever…

Born in England and educated in the United Kingdom, Spencer Hawke started traveling as a young boy seeking adventure. At 21, he took off with a friend for Africa and crossed the continent North to South through the Sahara, sometimes on foot, as their old Land Rover did not want to travel as far as they did.

He spent quite some time holed up in an abandoned French Foreign Legion outpost, called Fort Mirabelle, in the middle of the desert in Algeria, where they stayed until the engine was repaired - lots of cold desert nights watching camp fires in the distance and not knowing who was friend or foe is a great catalyst for an over-active imagination.

Eight months later, having dodged many conflicts and machine-gun-toting patrols, the pair rolled into South Africa bound for Australia, determined to swim the coral of the Great Barrier Reef. But fate had a different plan for Hawke. In Johannesburg he met a Brazilian girl who professed undying love for the young Brit. He changed his ticket and flew off to Rio de Janeiro in search of the beauty.

Once in Rio, she was nowhere to be found. Short on funds, he stayed and got a job with General Motors in Sao Paulo. Eight years and two children later, he had accumulated enough money to take off again for what he thought his final destination. Landing in Oklahoma in the middle of the 1980's oil boom, he and his children made a home in Oklahoma City.

Today he is raising another gift from God, Grandson Devon, who is already a chip off the old block -- an avid adventurer.

A fascinatingly horrific story that is so relevant to today. What would happen if the Mullahs in Iran had a nuclear weapon and the means (ICMB's) to deliver them to the west.

This story sent shivers down my spine.

Fast paced read. Contains all the suspense needed to carry the reader (secret societies, foreign plots ... Etc). Hope book 2 gives more character background. The one problem I had was the ten year gap between the books tense opening and the ending. What happened? Other than that a truly good read!

Ready for part 2

One of the most believable spy thrillers I've read in awhile. I have come to like Ari and David. I am expecting great things from them in future novels. Roll em out!

I'm not a big veggie fan, but that was a nice carrot. Do I like apples, I wonder.
