Meet the people who make it all happen—the planners, the photographers, the musicians who have helped orchestrate the perfect day for countless couples—as they find their own happy endings in the second Year of Weddings novella collection.
Love Takes the Cake by Betsy St. Amant
She’s known for her delicious cakes, but there’s no recipe for dealing with the new man in her life.
Charlotte Cantrell is always the baker; never the bride. When Will, a regular at Charlotte’s bakery, catches her attention, she can only hope that he is the reliable man this single mother has always hoped to find. The problem is that he’s regularly stopping in to buy cookies for another girl. But when Charlotte is hired to bake a host of wedding goodies for a difficult bride and finds out Will is the best man, she has the perfect opportunity to get to know him better—and find out how serious Will is about this other girl in his life.
The Perfect Arrangement by Katie Ganshert
Meeting Nate was truly an accident—but Amelia finds that he’s one of the few people she can count on.
Amelia Woods is a small-town wallflower and the proud owner of Forget-Me-Nots, a quaint flower shop. Despite her success in business, her love life has always been a bit lackluster. Until she spies on her ex-boyfriend’s wedding and ends up in an embarrassing fender-bender with handsome wedding guest, Nate Gallagher.
Meanwhile, Amelia’s younger brother, William, has proposed to his girlfriend. Amelia would be excited except she has evidence that the fiancée is not who she says she is. It seems Nate is the only one available for any advice-giving, and he’s good at it—and pretty fun to talk to, too.
As Amelia works to craft the perfect flower arrangements for other people—including a ninety-year-old “fairy godmother” named George—she begins to wonder if real love is better than the dream. And if it is, will Nate still be interested when he learns who she is?
Love in the Details by Becky Wade
She left him to save his future, but they’ve never gotten over each other.
When Josh returns to his hometown of Martinsburg, Texas, to help his best friend get married, he didn’t intend to run into church wedding coordinator—and ex-girlfriend—Holly. He can’t help but pine after the girl he never got over.
Holly broke up with Josh years ago in an attempt to ensure his future success. But she loved him then and still loves him now. As she helps him plan his best friend’s wedding, she can’t help but feel horrible for the pain she caused him. And even though she longs to be with Josh, she doesn’t feel worthy of his big-time lifestyle when she is more comfortable in her small town world. Will Josh and Holly be able to keep things as they are when their true feelings threaten to surface at every turn?
Betsy St. Amant Haddox is the author of almost thirty romance novels and novellas. She resides in north Louisiana with her hubby, two teenagers, and one furry schnauzer-toddler. Betsy has a bachelor of arts in communication and loves teaching and speaking on the craft of writing. When she’s not suffering through a CrossFit workout or baby talking her dog, she can usually be found in the vicinity of an iced coffee. She writes frequently for iBelieve, a devotional site for women, and offers author coaching and editing services through Storyside LLC.
In Love Takes the Cake, Charlotte Cantrell knows what she’s about – providing brides with delicious cakes for their wedding day. What she doesn’t count on is being drawn to a regular customer, Will, who comes every week to buy cookies for the mysterious “Melissa.” Humorous misunderstandings abound in this confection of a story. I haven’t read any of Betsy St. Amant’s full length novels, but definitely want to after enjoying this fun story. The story could easily find its home on the Hallmark channel (and really who is complaining about that?), but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t also a dose of realism thanks to the back stories of both Charlotte and Will. The unraveling of the tangled threads of misunderstandings is a joy to read.
I admit that The Perfect Arrangement was the story I was most eager to read, simple because I am always eager to read anything that Katie Ganshert writes. I was expecting a charming story, but this one truly blew me away. Amelia Mason is a bit quirky and a very relatable character. I’m a big fan of epistolary style narratives, so I love how the author includes email to tell the story. It’s a fresh twist that adds a lot of fun and charm to the characters interactions – Nate is a particularly endearing male lead. This may seem a small thing, but I also appreciated that she included a family with step-siblings. It’s not something I’ve seen much in Christian fiction, but it’s a real part of life, and it is done very well here. I also found the story of how Amelia came to own a flower shop and how it got its name to be such an endearing part of the story. This is one of my favorite novellas I’ve read in 2016.
Love in the Details is nothing less than what I expect from a Becky Wade story – the characters are endearing, and it’s easy to root for them the entire time. She realistically portrays two people who were once in a relationship, meeting again after many years and different roads of life. It’s a genuinely sweet story that had me smiling while reading because they are just such likeable people. I appreciated the cautious, realistic way that they began to reconnect with one another – their reconnection doesn’t move too fast, nor does it drag, but rather it strikes the perfect balance with the length of the story. I also liked getting a peek into Holly’s writer life – I’m sure the author pulls from personal experience there, so it was fun to read about that.
I know that many readers start picking up Christmas books well before the month of December rolls around. But before you pick up your Christmas books, I highly recommend squeezing a bit of “fall” into your reading this month with this wonderfully charming collection.
I enjoyed all three of the stories in this novella collection, but I don't think they're going to be stories that I think about a lot, just a light read. I think my favorite story was the one by Katie Ganshert.
An enjoyable trio of fall romances involving the hardworking women behind the wedding scene: a baker, florist and wedding coordinator find their own happy endings.
These were all unique in settings, but shared similar themes. The heroines struggle with self-doubt, having a hard time forgiving their own past mistakes and hurt, which clouds their present perspective. Faith and friendship help them move on and trust again. My favorite was the last one, with the writer who finds herself helping out as a wedding coordinator, working alongside her long lost love. Some funny and sweet moments, plus a good example of waiting for and trusting God's timing in this one. The second story was clever, told from the woman's point of view and partially through emails. A bit of kismet and a touch of a cinderella story added a little extra sparkle. The first one had a lot of romantic tension, and the couple had difficulty letting go of their past mistakes, but when they did, boy, did their romance sizzle. Who can resist cupcakes, cookies and a cute little girl?
Recommend for readers who enjoy clean contemporary romances, with a little faith.
This is a collection of three autumn love novellas. Each one is fun, unique, and a pleasure to read.
Love Takes the Cake: Betsy St. Amant
Back Cover Synopsis: Charlotte Cantrell is always the baker; never the bride. When Will, a regular at Charlotte’s bakery, catches her attention, she can only hope that he is the reliable man this single mother has always hoped to find. But when Charlotte is hired to bake a host of wedding goodies for a difficult bride and finds out Will is the best man, she has the perfect opportunity to get to know him better—and find out how serious Will is about this other girl in his life.
This story definitely made me a little hungry. It was interesting to delve into Will's past and uncover his semi-dark secrets. Charlotte's past was also intriguing and an all-too real predicament of today's world. I found both characters real, yet likeable and interesting. This was definitely the darkest of the novellas, if such a word may be used. It was real, a bit raw, and had a great ending.
The Perfect Arrangement: Katie Ganshert

Her love life has always been a bit lackluster—until she ends up in an embarrassing fender-bender with handsome Nate Gallagher. Two words. NATE GALLAGHER. Oh my word, I liked him so much! He was amazing. Not only was the premise of a flour shop beautiful, but the exchange of emails and embarrassing situations between Nate and Amelia was way too fun. There was some maddening tension, lots of classic movie quotes, laughable predicaments, and the best ending ever. This was definitely my favorite of the three stories.
Love in the Details: Becky Wade
Back Cover Synopsis: When Josh returns to his hometown of Martinsburg, Texas, to help his best friend get married, he didn’t intend to run into church wedding coordinator—and ex-girlfriend—Holly. He can’t help but pine after the girl he never got over. Holly broke up with Josh years ago in an attempt to ensure his future success. But she loved him then and still loves him now. As she helps him plan his best friend’s wedding, she longs to be with Josh but doesn’t feel worthy of his big-time lifestyle when she is more comfortable in her small-town world. Will Josh and Holly be able to keep things as they are when their true feelings threaten to surface at every turn?
Sweet. This story was just sweet. And satisfying. Of course, Holly's lack of communication drove my nuts sometimes, but hey. It's what made the story just a bid maddening (in the best way possible.) This one was definitely the sweetest (did I mention that it is sweet?!).
All three stories are amazingly fun and delightful for an autumn day. Recommended for romance, chick-lit, and sweet romance fans.
To Have and to Hold was such an enjoyable, romantic novella collection. Each of these three stories are independent of each other. They do have a couple of things in common. In each story, the season is fall and the heroine of the novella works in the bridal industry in some way. Otherwise, be prepared to be wowed by three uniquely creative love stories.
In Love Takes the Cake by Betsy St. Amant, Charlotte is a single mom and bakery owner. She caters all kinds of events, including weddings. I thought that this was such a fun novella. I experienced the emotions of the two characters and I loved the way they interacted. There was a side character named Melissa whom I am really, really, really hoping gets her own novel or novella in the future. I think it would be such an amazing thing to see her find true love!
In The Perfect Arrangement by Katie Ganshert, Amelia is a florist who owns her own shop. Weddings are one of the many reasons people buy flowers from her. This story is super fun and is told from Amelia’s perspective. It is also partially in the form of multiple emails that are sent back and forth between Amelia and her love interest. The banter between the two main characters during their emails is reminiscent of the movie, You’ve Got Mail. I also love all of the old movie references that are used in this novella.
In Love in the Details by Becky Wade, Holly is the church wedding coordinator in her small town. She is also a novelist who gave up her true love, Josh, many years before and has never fully recovered. I loved the way the author did such a good job of showing this story from both Holly and Josh’s perspectives. I felt the tension, the attraction, and the hurt as these characters experienced those emotions. I loved the similarities to the Jane Austen classic novel, Persuasion.
These three stories were so enjoyable and I definitely recommend them.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
*I originally read and reviewed this book on my blog in 2016 and just now am finally adding those thoughts here too!*
This is a great collection of novellas.
This novella collection was fabulous. I enjoyed each story and am so glad I decided to pick this one up. I have grown to love Becky Wade’s writing, and I was also interested in Betsy St. Amant and Katie Ganshert’s work, so this was a no-brainer.
Love Take the Cake by Betsy St. Amant
This was a super cute novella. I loved that Charlotte owned a bakery, and that it was called The Dough Knot. I mean, how cute is that? And I’ve recently developed a interest in foodie novels (I blame Hillary Lodge Manton, who wrote the Two Blue Doors series), so I was definitely loving all the descriptions of cookies, pastries, and lots of wedding cake.
The Perfect Arrangement by Katie Ganshert
Amelia and Nate’s meet-cute was the best. It was, quite literally, an accident. Amelia is adorable and I really felt for her. They end up emailing back and forth for a good portion of the novella, and I absolutely loved it. They made me smile. I happen to adore novels that largely involve letters (epistolary novels). And these emails were perfect. I can easily say this novella is so good, I would put it in my top 3.
Love in the Details by Becky Wade
This one was about Josh and Holly, who broke up years ago and only re-enter each others lives because of a friend’s wedding. So the tension is very strong when they first run into each other. And Holly is a writer, which I really liked reading about. One aspect I really liked was how, even though they broke up years ago, they both had been following each others careers. This novella is also in my top 3 now. And if you’re wondering what the third is now that I’ve named two of these favorites, the third is Melissa Tagg’s Three Little Words.
Weddings are magical and I loved reading about these darling autumn celebrations. Each one was set in a small town and had a sweetness that was quintessential.
My mouth was watering in LOVE TAKES THE CAKE. Charlotte bakes up the best desserts and her interest in Will was captivating--especially when a surprise discovery was uncovered. The romance was as light and fluffy sweet as whipped frosting and I especially loved the influence of the secondary characters.
THE PERFECT ARRANGEMENT had YOU'VE GOT MAIL vibes and I adored the way Nate and Amelia connected through email, using classic movie titles as their subject lines. Their meet cute was a literal bang and their connections were a bit messy and twisted, but that's what added a delightful element to their instant attraction.
Second chances at love is where it's at in LOVE IN THE DETAILS. Sometimes the timing might be off with the one who got away and a wedding and some heartfelt communication can put things back on track. I loved Holly and Josh and adored watching their past connect with their future.
Content: mild romance; mild religion
*I received a complimentary copy. All opinions expressed are my own and were voluntarily given.*
I really enjoyed this book....it was more than sweet romance; it was healing, hope, and overcoming past hurts in every story. I loved two of the stories and liked a third one very much so definitely wanted to rate full five stars :) I can't even say which guy I liked best because they were all top notch, well written. This was my first time reading St. Amant and Ganshert's work, but am definitely interested in reading their future writings after this lovely compilation. Wade has been a fave of mine since My Stubborn Heart.
LOVE TAKES THE CAKE really loved Charlotte in this one.....her heart, her protectiveness with her daughter and I was nearly drooling over the baked goods described here :) Fave characters were EASILY Julie and Melissa, wishing they were my real life best friends! They were wonderful supportive women and made me laugh, totally enhanced the story :) Charlotte mentions wanting purple and silver wedding colors, those are MY colors for when I marry someday!!
THE PERFECT ARRANGEMENT really enjoyed Amelia in this one.....she accidentally rear ends Nate while driving past a wedding trying not be seen. Nate is amused by her sputtering apology and takes her card without any fuss. They email each other as a romance gradually takes place and what a treat to read! This is probably the one time running into an ex and his new bride is a sweet moment in the story :)
Best friend, Rachel, is away on business and unavailable for most of the story making the emails with Nate more enjoyable.
Most of the plot is protecting Amelia's little brother who gets engaged and I really loved that also.
LOVE IN THE DETAILS starts with this note that never gets sent..... Josh, Since I broke up with you, I can't stop crying. Can you please forgive me? I love you. I'm certain I'll always love you. Today would have been our eight-month anniversary. When you left for MIT a month and a half ago, I never imagined that we wouldn't keep dating or that I wouldn't see you again at Thanksgiving. The long-distance thing has been miserable but our marathon phone calls and our back-and-forth emails throughout the days were getting me by. Now I've lost all of it, and I'm heartbroken without you. Here's what you don't know and what I can't tell you. Your mom came to see me. She drove to UT San Antonio, met me in my freshman dorm room, and took me to lunch. She cried, Josh. She cried because she's so upset over the fact you're unhappy at MIT. She said you told her that you wanted to leave and come back to Texas to be near me. She's a single mom and you're her only son and she loves you. My heart went out to her. You've worked so hard. You're a genius and you've earned the financial aid scholarship that MIT offered you. Please understand I don't want anything to get in the way of that, especially me.... She held my hands and, with tears streaming down her face, asked me to break up with you.... Maybe I should've stood up to her and refused to break up with you... Your mom has always been wonderful to me, Josh.... My feelings haven't changed, Josh. I don't want to date anyone but you..... You might not know it yet but you're going to do great things. I know it. I love you. And I'm very, very, very sorry for hurting you. Can you ever forgive me? With all my heart, Holly.
Holly and Josh reunite years later to help plan a wedding and it was endearing how their feelings haven't changed and the more they hang out together the stronger they fall for one another, but neither one will admit this and they both resist those feelings thinking it will only lead to heartbreak once again. However, Holly has become a successful YA author and has been seeking God for years for the right man to marry. Maybe the timing is finally right to answer that prayer.
Her best friend, Sam, is another wonderful character in this one and Holly affectionately calls Sam's husband, Mr. Perfect because he's, well, perfect!
I can't recommend this book enough for those who like clean contemporary romances, these three authors considered everything a girl's heart could want with this wonderful book :)
*Thanks to the authors and publisher for providing me with a review copy. I was not required to write a positive review. The thoughts expressed are my own.*
Each of these stories were awesome. I have to admit that I do have my favorite out of each of these, but, still, all of them are wonderful. For this book of novellas, I will be writing a mini review on each novel. I will be starting off with Love Takes the Cake by Betsy St. Amant. This one is my favorite of these three novels. This is my first book ever by St. Amant, and I definitely will be reading more of her books. Since I love to bake, it is kind of obvious why I like this story, but honestly, I just overall liked the story. Next is The Perfect Arrangement by Katie Ganshert. This is my least favorite of these novellas. Unluckily for me, this is the first book I have read by Ganshert so I kind of have a 'not so good' opinion of her books. The main thing I didn't like about it is Charlotte thinking Bridget (her brother's fiancé) was a 'cheater.' And, I didn't really 'fall in love' with the characters like I usually do with books I like. This novella just seemed bland. Now for Love in the Details by Becky Wade. This one, as you can most likely guess, is my 'middle' book. It isn't my favorite but it isn't my least favorite. I did enjoy this one very much, though. It is a bittersweet story that, you can guess which, may or may not end happily. This cover is very creative. I love the red finger nails. Since I love painting my nails, it touched my heart. Well, not really. But, this cover deserves five stars! Now, I am going to give this full book a star rating. I am not going to be doing a rating on each novella. You can read my review to try to figure out what I would give each. But, this full book deserves four stars. I really, really enjoyed two out of three of these novellas. This book is a keeper!
To Have and to Hold By: Betsy St Amant , Katie Ganshert , and Becky Wade Three summer time love heartwarming romance collection by three wonderful authors that will keep you reading and wanting more.
Loves Takes The Cake By: Betsy St Amant I really loved this sweet romance story. Charlotte is a single mom and runs a bakery . She has been done wrong in the pass and afraid to trust again. Nate , a guy that is a regular customer every week and buys cookies for Melissa . Who is this Melissa? He really likes Charlotte , but she thinks he is cheating and wants nothing to do with him. Nate also has a guilt he cannot get over. Both are afraid to trust .
The Perfect Arrangement By: Katie Ganshert This is a very sweet story . Amelia owns a flower shop. Her ex boyfriend is marrying someone else. While she is snooping she has a fender bender with a super sweet guy, Nate. He is nice about it all . They text back and forth and he gives her some advice on her problem . Amelia is beginning to think life might be better after all. What about Nate? How does he feel?
Love In The Detail By: Becky Wade I really loved this short story where two old friends meet back up. Josh is back in his home town to help his best friend with his wedding. Holly broke up with josh before he left for college. He never really knew why. Holly and Josh both are helping with the wedding and they get together to try and get some things arranged. They both still have feeling for each other. Holly is keeping a secret she has never told Josh. What will happen if he finds out? I was given a copy of this book by the author and NetGalley for my honest review.
It is rare when I get excited about reading a novella book set. I struggle with reading novellas because they are so short and many times I think authors struggle with making a full story in only a few pages.
Oh my holy wow this book blew me away! LOVED each story and I really liked how there were only three authors (sometimes they fit in more but this was PERFECT). Now lets be real, you really can't go wrong with these three authors in the first place, as they are all fabulous.
Love Takes the Cake was a sweet (no pun intended :) romance written by Betsy St. Amant. Good characters and a fun and light read that left me smiling.
The Perfect Arrangement by Katie Ganshert left me wanting to be a florist. I love how Katie set the book up and how she added communication by way of emails. She did it in a very tactful and easy to read way. Fun love story and great setting.
Love in the Details by Becky Wade- be still my heart! Having recently met Becky (major fan girl moment!) I have to say she is just as fun as her books. I adored this novella and to be honest it didn't even feel like a novella I got so into the characters and the setting. She did a splendid job creating characters that already knew each other from high school and building a great background for readers to understand.
So overall this is a wonderful novella collection and you should probably read it because these authors have yet to disappoint.
"I received this book from BookLook Bloggers for free in exchange for an honest review."
These novellas were published separately at one time and they are now combined into one book for your reading pleasure. I had read (and reviewed) Love in the Details previously (I love Becky Wade) but I hadn't read the other two so I thought I'd pick this one up.
I don't think I've ever read anything by Katie Ganshert but I'll be looking her up after reading her novella.
All three of these novellas are so sweet. I really enjoyed them. The autumn theme was perfect for romance and falling in love. These women are strong and independent- a baker, a florist and a event planner. They are making a way for themselves and are in the perfect place to have romance enter in.
These stories are sweet, gentle and left my heart smiling.
Content: Clean
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
There were a few surprises in these three novellas. They are complicated love stories with great characters and I wasn't always sure of the expected happy ending. I enjoyed each story in this book and look forward to reading the other three seasons.
Such a fun collection! I thoroughly enjoyed each of the three stories, but if I had to pick a favorite that would be A Perfect Arrangement by Katie Ganshert.
Love Takes the Cake: A September Wedding Story by Betsy St. Amant 4 stars
Charlotte and Will's story is so cute! Charlotte has her hands full, running a successful bakery and raising her daughter on her own. But when she meets Will, she can't stop thinking about him. Will, of course, has his own busy life, taking care of his family and bearing the guilt for an accident that occurred two years prior. But their weekly visits at the bakery are a highlight for both of them.
This is definitely not the traditional romance. The way they meet and the way their friendship progresses (through the efforts of a bride-zilla!) are unexpected. There are quite a few misunderstandings between them, which adds a little frustration and some light-hearted moments as well. Charlotte and Will both have some issues to work through, and this delightful novella gives them the chance to do just that.
The Perfect Arrangement: An October Wedding Story by Katie Ganshert 5 stars
The style of this story is unique—first person, only told from the female's perspective (as opposed to switching back and forth as is somewhat traditional), and much of it is told through the exchange of emails. I especially appreciated the style because it was so different from the dozens of other books I've read recently. :)
The story itself is wonderful. Amelia has experienced a lot of loss in her life, but she doesn't let that hold her back. Her initial encounter with Nate was so funny, and I loved how they connected over email—and then kept emailing! Both characters were fun to get to know and the emails helped us get inside their heads. More than anything, though, the author does a great job of making readers *feel* as they read the story.
There are a lot of additional characters who come through the florist shop, and it helps round out the story. My favorite is George, who has a special romantic story of his own and helps Amelia discover what she wants from her life.
Katie Ganshert does a great job with this novella. Highly recommend!
Love in the Details: A November Wedding Story by Becky Wade 4 stars
What a fun story! The premise of exes reconnecting was perfect for a novella—though I must say that Holly is much nicer than I would be in this same situation! It was great to see them putting their past behind them in order to plan a special day for a friend, though. Likeable characters, fun plot, and sweet romance. Everything I want in a romantic story!
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my fair and honest review.
Love Takes the Cake had me seriously craving sweets (more than usual, which is a lot), especially snickerdoodles!!! This is the first Betsy St. Amant title I’ve read so I’ll be hunting down more of her work for future reads!
The Perfect Arrangement features Amelia and Nate who meet in a fender bender then get to know one another via email. I definitely feel a kinship with Amelia, she’s a bit awkward in social situations and prefers communicating from the safety of a computer! Katie Ganshert, you are on my list!
Love in the Details takes us to small-town Texas where estranged loves Josh and Holly meet face-to-face for the first time in the years since their long-distance breakup. I love Holly! She is compassionate and self-sacrificing. Becky Wade, you already know I love you!
I requested the opportunity to read and review this title through NetGalley. The opinions expressed are my own.
What a wonderful collection of 3 novellas!!! Zondervan had released a fall collection of love stories that each easily wove their way into my heart. I met some unforgettable characters. Each were artistic and dedicated to their own profession. I think one of the greatest common denominators among the characters was not only their ability to put on smile on someone's face, but also that they focused on each client as though they were the only client. Each have a dream they are trying to fulfill, but at the same time hoping they would get a chance at romance and love. In the first story we meet Charlotte Cantrell who is the baker and owner of The Doughknot. She is a single mom who doesn't want to let anyone close enough to hurt her again, but her attraction to a man who came every Tuesday evening might just leave her in knots before it's over. In the second story we meet Amelia Woods the owner and designer of Forget-Me-Not Flower Shop. Life had not turned out as she had expected. This is almost like a Cinderella story. Amelia's mother owned a flower shop where Amelia had helped and learned the art of the trade. With her mother's death she thought the shop was all but lost to her, until she was able to buy it. It's success was her greatest desire. A happenstance meeting with a stranger involving a car wreck and the exchange of emails has Amelia looking for love in all the wrong places. Last we meet Holly and Josh, who were high school sweethearts looking forward to spending the rest of their lives together. Holly makes a decision that will break both their hearts. Now with Josh back in town to fulfill an obligation as best man and Holly the church wedding coordinator will they get another chance at love or will the past be too much to overcome? These are three sweet romances that quickly pulled me in and kept me turning the pages. Each plot is well thought and the characters are easy to love. This is a book I would recommend to anyone who loves a good, clean love story. *I received this book from the author in exchange for a honest review without bias or outside influence.
4 stars: The Perfect Arrangement This was my favorite story in this collection. It was such a cute story. I liked how this was told through emails and traditional story format. It reminded me of The Shop Around the Corner and You've Got Mail. I think that was the author's inspiration.
Love is in the Details This was also a cute story. I like stories that bring lost loves back together.
3 stars: Love Takes the Cake The story was nice, but I didn't like the characters.
Three autumn love stories are all tied together by the fall theme, the essence of faith, love, and relationships.
Charlotte is a single mom who hopes to find love. But the man who has caught her attention is always buying cookies from her bakery for another woman. Can Charlotte find love or will she stay single forever. This story was sweet and romantic. The author did a great job of creating a conflict to the relationship, but tied it all up in a sweet boy at the end.
Amelia is stalking a former boyfriend when she accidentally rear ends another car. What begins as a horrible time for her morphs into love letters in the form of emails and a new love in the future. This story wrapped humor, faith, trust, and family all together and created something that I wish could have gone on and on. It was truly a wonderful story.
Josh and Holly broke up years ago. It was a break up that was fraught with misunderstanding and hurt. So when Josh returns to his hometown for a friend's wedding he doesn't expect to run into Holly as much as he does. But Holly is the wedding coordinator and Josh is thrust into working with her closely to help with last minute wedding details. This story was romantic, full of drama and angst, and focused on relationships. I loved how the author made the reader fall in love with both characters, but still feel the tension between them. She pulled it together to have a wonderfully romantic and perfect ending.
I loved this book. I enjoyed each story individually, but together they were amazing. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys clean romantic stories.
All three of these Novella's are fantastic! First, you can't pick a favorite author because all three are brilliant writers! Second, all three novella's set the mood for a fantastic fall wedding story that is like no other. Are you in the mood to kick off fall with some romance? Look no more! "To Have and To Hold" has three different stories that will capture your heart and your mind for a few hours keeping you busy as your turn the pages. You'll fall in love with Will and you can't help but dream of the amazing bakery Charlotte has. If the smell doesn't capture your attention, Will has a way of captivating your heart. Did I mention Amelia has a beautiful flower shop that smell as pretty as she does, but will Nate think so? And if you haven't had enough yet, you should really run into Josh.. Or maybe Holly.. Enough said.. You'll fall in love with each of these three weddings! I promise! I give this book 5/5 stars. I enjoyed each Novella by three fabulous authors! Thank you to the publishers for providing me a complimentary copy for review purposes.
I really enjoyed the 3 stories in this novella. Each one featured a woman who had a particular part in planning a wedding - a florist, a baker and a wedding planner. All the stories had some humor in them and were different from each other. I loved each one for different reasons! It's so fun to read novellas because you can read them quickly but still have great characters and a great story. The men were also fun to get to know in these books. I've read these authors before and really enjoyed them but reading these novellas where a wedding was the main focus was a fun change of pace. The weddings were not the characters' weddings but other characters in the stories so it was especially fun to see the ups and downs everyone went through on the way to THEIR Happily Ever After!!!! I recommend this book!
Three beautifully written novella's part of the year of wedding themed stories. Each author is well established in this field, and you can rest assured with this book that it will be great. I've read too many novella's that are so short there's just not enough to tell a believable tale to connect with. That's not the case here. Just the right length to develop the major characters, and based around the florist, baker & wedding planner - what's not to love about 3 women ready to finally play a part in their own happiness. Each one is heart warming, without all the drama that usually accompanies a longer novel! 'Love is in the Details' is one of my favourite short stories!
All 3 of these are a great read! Thanks to Netgalley & Zondervan for the ARC. This is my honest review.
I fell in love with all three stories and I love how it was Christian without being too overbearing. These stories are something every romantic can enjoy whether you are religious or not. Love Takes the Cake by Betsy St. Amant: this book had me crying and laughing because Will tries so hard and that man has my heart for all the things he did for Charlotte and her kid. You will not regret this story. The Perfect Arrangement by Katie Ganshert: The only thing I can say is Oh Amelia and Nate. They're text/email relationship is absolute perfection. Love in the Details by Becky Wade: I want to give Josh and Holly a great big hug. Second chance love for the win. 5 out of 5 across the board for all three stories.
This is just a wonderful set of novellas. Three autumn love stories from Christian fiction author Katie Ganshert, Becky Wade, and Betsy St. Amant. All three grab your attention and hold it from the beginning.
I've read Katie Ganshert and Becky Wade since they began writing Christian fiction, but this was my first Betsy St. Amant book. It won't be my last, I can tell you that.
Lovely stories, all three, read more like a full book than a novella. Great!
*I was provided with a copy of this book by Net Galley for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
Each novella captured the fabulous writing, swoon-worthy romance, and characterization I love from these authors. I fell in love with each couple, invested in each sweet story and grateful to have these three powerhouse authors together in one collection. The only problem with novellas? Now I want more!
