I've very much enjoyed all of Celia's books so far, and Moondancing is no exception. It's a prequel story to one of her other books - Little Boxes - but it can be read as a standalone. Though it'll make you want to read Little Boxes if you haven't already.
It tells the story of Molly and Jake, their close family and friends, with a couple of strangers thrown in for good measure. Things are falling apart for the various characters in spectacular fashion, and we follow their respective stories throughout the novel, to some expected, and unexpected conclusions. I don't want to say too much, though, and give the game away.
What I like about Celia's books is that they're very grounded in real life. Her characters have flaws, just like real people, and make mistakes, and so on. This was another exceptional and quirky read from this author, and I look forward to more.
