I knew of Beau Ryland long before he was seducing women all over the world with that sexy rasp.I’ll admit, I was obsessed with him. When I met him alongside the red clay banks of that Alabama lake, I literally stumbled into his arms. He smiled, and I was bright red with embarrassment but it was enough. For one weekend that summer, we were carefree and lost under the southern stars. He showed me there was more to him than a country singer with a reputation. The Beau Ryland I got to know wasn’t anything like the image he created. And as he whispered against my sunburnt skin, a promise of forever, I believed him.Just when I thought we had our happy ever after, a devastating loss tore us apart. His promise of forever couldn’t take away my pain and now all I’m left with is the familiar rasp of his voice over the radio. I’m afraid to let go, and he won’t let me.When I think I’ve moved on, his number one single hits the top of the charts and I’m reminded of a love we used to have. I don’t want his voice to be one I used to know, but I couldn’t hold him back when we were worlds apart. I wanted the whispered promises of forever, his breath teasing my skin. The last thing we need is more heartache, but is that enough to be everlasting?

Wow!! I don't know what to do with all the feelings running through me. I don't think anyone can truly understand this story to fullest potential unless you happen to have been on the same or similar path Beau & Bentley take. Unfortunately I've been on a similar road and was lucky to come out on the other side stronger just like they did. My heart goes out to all that have shared this kind of fork in their roads too. Ms Stahl, you weaved this tale so brilliantly that I could actually envision all the details in my head as if I was right there in the room witnessing it all unfold before my eyes!!
In the beginning of the book Bentley is the girl that wears sweatpants and doesn't show her figure. Then suddenly she is rubbing herself on Beau, dropping towels to show her body in a bikini for him saying he better keep his promise of a "later". She is so fifth grade. She is either completely speechless or in a word diarrhea that is not funny or cute. She is not the type of girl to party but she sure drinks a lot.
Beau is no better. I couldn't understand his description. He is a contradiction. Bentley says he is sweet but he admits to cheating his girlfriend. He thinks they might still be together if he hadn't cheated but she, ex-girlfriend, is the one who is straining him along with random hookups when they meet? He is all cute and whatever but he makes a show in just his underwear? Payton, the ex-girlfriend, is so nice and sweet but she is a bitch to him and Bentley. I don't get it.
I didn't get far into the book when I started skimming because... bleh, it was just boring and going nowhere. But, apparently Beau and her break up. She meets someone else and gets pregnant. The new guy dies and she gets back together with Beau. All of this in one year's time or something. I usually like some spoilers because many times, it's the reason why I get curious to read about, but in this case it just made me roll my eyes again and close this book.
Loved Loved Loved this book! Yet another sleepless night but so worth it. Love loss and a connection that can't explained. Bentley had me bursting out in fits of laughter, and Beau beautiful beautiful Beau. I could see him, I could hear him, I love him! Oh and a visit from someone oh so special :) You outdid yourself with this one Shey! I really do want more PLEASE!
This story is breathtaking, heartbreaking, beautiful. Romance, humor, tragedy and love everlasting is found in this story of Beau & Bentley. It's a story that will make you laugh, fall in love and take your breath away with many tears.. But it also touches on a subject that leaves devastation in so many families today and gives back hope,.. Shey Stahl has written another great story.
This story could have been a 5 star for me but there were times that Bentley really made me mad. She had every reason to be upset and devastated by what happened. What I didn't care for was the fact that she acted like the pain should be all hers. Beau was suffering also but she never thought about his pain. She pushed him away and never looked back. I loved how once Beau realized his feelings for Bentley it was over. He was ready for someone to finally be there for and with him for him and not what he could do for them. I would have liked to see some of the relationships that were destroyed be resolved. I would love to see some stories from the secondary characters: Wade and Miles
Hot country singer meet hot clumsy not sure if herself girl what do you get a unexpected life journey
Who doesn't want to read about a country man struggling to make something of himself even when he doesn't have all his family's support. Who doesn't feel for the clumsy girl who gets a chance with her teenage crush. You feel them as they fall in love and you cry for there heartbreak hoping they make it . I loved there names Beau and Bentley forever.
This story is so beautiful and so familiar. I laughed out loud. I cried so ugly. Even though I have experienced this story myself, Shey Stahl did such an excellent job with the way she created the whole story that you could actually feel all the characters emotions. You will need a full box of tissues!!!💖💖💖💖💖
This story was absolutely perfect. It not only broke my heart in places but put it back together piece by piece by the end of it. The story and the characters were amazing and it tugged at my heart constantly. I absolutely loved it.
What an amazing story. Love and loss. From one side of the coin to the other. Surviving both can be a struggle for anyone. This was a beautifully heartbreaking book.
This was a really great book. Bentley has been in love with Beau Ryland since she was about 14 years old. He had no idea who she was and never ever met her. They lived in the same town but there was a couple of years difference in age. After graduating college, she goes to a lake party where she's told he will be there and she literally falls in his lap.
Bentley hasn't had the easiest life. When she was young, her older brother died and her parents were a mess afterwards. Her father became an alcoholic and then one day he just left and they never saw him again. Her mother got in a car accident after drinking and her brain isn't the same and now lives in an assisted living facility. Bentley had to grow up pretty fast and spends as much time studying and doing grown up things and never really had time for parties and such. Her weakness is Beau and she's always dreamed of being with him. When they finally meet, it is like a dream come true for her. But she doesn't believe that Beau could really care about her.
Beau was always the popular guy growing up in town and in school. He played football and was the golden boy but music was his dream and he's done what he could to have that as a career. He's been doing what he can to get people to hear his music. His father has always made him feel stupid for attempting that dream. When he meets Bentley he is drawn to her and wants to give things a shot. He wasn't really in a place for a relationship but he realizes that she's something special.
They have a really great love but they are then dealt a pretty huge loss. Sometimes when tragedy happens being together helps but sometimes its best to try to heal on your own.
I had a hard time with this book. The dialogue was confusing and it needs an editor desperately. The behavior of Bentley was a problem throughout the book, one minute she can't utter a single word, the next its "word vomit" that is not cute. I could not connect with her at all. The story line has been done over and over. The characters were not well developed. Beau was sweet. I almost did not finish this book a couple of times. The first time was at the major tragedy of the book which was totally unrealistic in today's modern medicine and was a lawsuit waiting in the works on the recklessness of the doctor. I felt nothing for what happened since it was never treated as a "life threatening" emergency. It was never believable. Also she decides to come out of her funk with the help of his old girlfriend because they make her go to LA to see him. She saw him at Blaine's wedding, touched him, spoke to him and nothing. She was just a robot only thinking of herself. I just did not connect with this book at all.
so I've been busy with the holidays and have been meaning to review this book! it was so great. So much love and heartache. I can't imagine that kind of tragedy and having to move on from it! Some folks don't like the "instalove" they had, but it was them and that was their story. Not everyone has to take 2 years to fall for someone! Bravo Shey on another amazing book! I loved how relatable Bentley is with here awkwardness!!
I can't express how much I love this, beautiful, heartbreaking novel.. It has a great mix of love, happiness and heartbreak!! I smiled laughed and cried a lot, full on ugly crying.. So a little word of advice, do not read in a public place.. Unless you want to get funny looks and have a box or two of tissues.. The characters are so lovable and you really connect with them and their emotions. I can't recommend this novel highly enough!!
Everlasting Light was a good read- if your a fan of Shey then this will not disappoint. Jameson and Sway making a cameo was a bonus. Beau was almost too perfect and at times the relationship between he and Bentley felt rushed. But their bond was special. A good read for any hopeless romantic. ❤️
I'd have enjoyed Everlasting Light a lot more if Beau and Bentley's connection wasn't a case of instalove. The story spanned about 18 months (longer with the epilogue) and had a lot of potential. But ultimately I wasn't convinced by the strength of the relationship that developed in their first, alcohol-filled weekend together, and everything that comes afterward is built off that.
Wow, wow, wow! Beau and Bentley! This story takes you on such an emotional journey starting with young, innocent love and then throws a tragedy I their path. I read this book with tears and frustration at times, but also with hope and happiness. This is the kind of story that lets you know that love isn't always perfect, it can be messy. And everlasting!
I really enjoyed this book, although the heroine drove me nuts at some point, I get their grief but what she did to Beau was not right! Overall I really enjoyed getting to know Beau.
Beautiful and heart breaking story. Love every single page, line and word. Thank you for also the information that as provided. I can't wait to read your tour books as I am sure they'll be amazing as well.
Hated to love this book. I love everything Shey Stahl, she puts the E in emotional! So many sad/happy tears, yet the happy tears won in the end. THANK YOU! <3
