Alone Brandon Lupinus until need forces you to act, as a decent man should.

Since the day a witch cursed him, Brandon Lupinus has walked alone, tied to Tavistock, his ancestral home. Jess’s arrival brings unexpected changes—corporeal changes. Brandon is no longer alone but he still can’t seem to break his curse and offer Jess the future she deserves. Until fate steps in in an unexpected way…

USA Today Bestselling author, Shelley lives in Auckland, New Zealand with her husband and a rambunctious puppy.

Typical New Zealanders, Shelley and her husband left home for their big OE soon after they married (translation of New Zealand speak - big overseas experience). A year long adventure lengthened to six years of roaming the world. Enduring memories include being almost sat on by a mountain gorilla in Rwanda, lazing on white sandy beaches in India, whale watching in Alaska, searching for leprechauns in Ireland, and dealing with ghosts in an English pub.

While travel is still a big attraction, these days Shelley is most likely found in front of her computer following another love - that of writing stories of romance and adventure. Other interests include watching rugby and rugby league (strictly for research purposes), being walked by the dog, and curling up with a good book.

As a birthday present to herself, Emma Montrose decides it’s time to show Jake Sullivan that she’s a woman with needs and she wants him in this delightful paranormal romance.

Jack’s not interested in a commitment so he intends to stay far away from Emma but then work puts them together on a case and the readers can’t help but be delighted as Emma and Jack get all hot and steamy when their undercover work makes denying the hot sexual chemistry between them impossible. The characters are strong, captivating and grab the reader’s attention while the fast paced, smooth flowing plot thrills readers with suspense, excitement and passion as the well written scenes bring the sizzling passion and spine tingling excitement to life and the intriguing events ensure that there is a never a dull moment and provides quite a few a chuckles as the situation demands.

Shelley Munro has done it again and created a fascinating new dragon world with intriguing characters and setting and a refreshingly different dragon shifter element based on different mythology that spices things up. Jack and Emma’s story may have been a little on the short side but they sure delighted the heck out of me and I can’t wait to read the next Dragon Investigator book.

A firmly decent, and even a fun, read. I liked the New Zealand mythology as a break from standard European dragons, but there were some consent stuff I wasn't super down with. It did all get resolved, just not as things were happening.

The premise of Shelley Munro's "Blue Moon Dragon (Dragon Investigators Book 1)" felt extremely far-fetched to this reader. Private investigators being sent to find the proof of illegal drug use and shipments seemed better suited for a police investigation or even something along the lines of the NZ version of the DEA - Drug Enforcement Agency - to look into. The secondary issue of secret filming of couples sex acts in their resort rooms, and the fact it didn't seem to faze hero Jack - maybe because he's a taniwha, i.e. dragon-shifter? - or protagonist Emma, all that much, lended to the overall far-fetched nature of the tale. It likely would have been more believable if a former guest that had been filmed was being blackmailed or simply terrified of their sex life being viewed by unknown people, came to the agency as a client intent on getting their own film back and possibly even being willing to help shut the illicit filming down.

There was little character or setting descriptions given, although the character of Jack was described well enough to be somewhat visualized by this reader. Protagonist Emma was a hot-mess of a character, starting off with tidbits of description that drew to mind a virginal female that suddenly spouts off like a horndog, or definitely a female dog in heat. The two descriptions felt like polar opposites and left this reader feeling the character was not to be believed, a liar, unreliable or untrustworthy character. In fact, the entire tale felt as if it was the mid-beginning scenes of a story, like readers were plopped into a story that began a few missing pages previously, delivered some action, then wrapped up a quickie ending to sound like a 'happily-ever-after' tale. The story rushed to present the sex scenes; at the end of the tale, Jack stated it wasn't just sex, that they had made love. That is not the view this reader took away from those scenes; the sex acts were described in somewhat graphic detail and lacked any indication of sensuality or even emotions and caring. Simply, it read like porn with no sensuality. The idea of the taniwah and its sexual needs actually sounded intriguing; Jack's reasoning for not wanting to emotionally invest was an acceptable excuse for his earlier coldness. However, this reader felt it more likely that Jack would have had several prostitutes or women he knew with certaintry would never desire an attachment, on his phones speed-dial, to take care of his needs.

The story held several grammar, spelling and punctuation issues, with the addition of an extra word or two in sentences being the most prominent. Like 'the the' or something along that line. The story did not read as a romance, in this readers view, and felt like an unsatisfactory read. Therefore, this reader cannot recommend this book and will not be folowwing the series.

Cute story about a woman who works for a detective agency (and who has passed her PI exams), but doesn't realize some of her coworkers are dragons. Emma is crazy about one particular investigator, Jack Sullivan, but he doesn't seem to notice her ample assets or her interest. When she is assigned to her first case and gets to spend time at a couples' resort with Jack. Yum. She can't wait. This time he will notice her. She is going to pull out all the stops. Of course she plans to help him solve the case too. Sports enhancing drugs are being marketed out of the resort and they need to bust up the ring.

Jack can't believe that he had to share his case and a room with the delectable Emma . Worse, a blue moon is on the horizon and his taniwha would need constant sex if he wanted to ward off a change to his dragon form that would last for a day. That would be hard to hide on a resort island. Emma would be able to help him out, but she wouldn't understand that it wasn't a relationship - it was just sex. But maybe it is Jack's taniwha that didn't get that memo.

I can't wait to read more in this series. Emma is a hoot and she means to get her man, er, dragon.

Shelley Munro is a new author to me so I had no idea what to expect. That's one of the good things about an anthology. I can get to know new authors and find out if their works are something that meshes with my reading whims at the time. Sometimes it takes more than one book but usually, as in this case, they put forth a story that will grab new readers as well as continue to entice current fans. "Blue Moon Dragon" is Jack Sullivan and Emma Montrose's story. He's a taniwha, dragon shifter, and she's the secretary for the boss. It has its moments of intrigue and chemistry but for the most part, it's a battle of wills between these two. Jack because he has to be partnered with her and therefore using her to relieve his needs during the blue moon so he doesn't shift and her because she's determined to have Jack Sullivan before her next birthday since she feels that strongly about him. This quick read was great to just curl up and spend a few hours and escape. I might have to check out the next book in her "Dragon Investigators" series.

Secretary Emma Montrose has come to the decision that if she wants the sexy as sin Jack Sullivan then she needs to be confident and take action to bring him to his knees.
Jack is a Taniwha water dragon shifter and he has been hurt in his past so he like having a bad boy investigator vibe. He has a different Women most nights and he doesn't want to commit to any woman.
Jack can tell that Emma wants him and if honest Emma is so tempting but he can see she wants something more than a one night stand so he stays away, being grumpy towards Emma but that just makes Emma want him more.
When Jack and Emma are paired on an investigation all bets are off. They have to pretend to be a couple. Can these two stick to the plan or do feelings take over??
Oh this is a brilliant read totally loved it. Super addictive Can wait to read the second book in this series.

Emma wants Jack but he acts like she does not exist then they get assigned a case together.
On her twenty-fifth birthday Emma Montrose resolves that she will make investigator Jack Sullivan notice her. The next day he boss assigns her to work a case with Jack posing as a couple. They are investigating the possibility of the sales of performance enhancing drugs at a couples resort. Taniwha dragon shifter Jack like to keep his sexual encounter casual and sees Emma as the type who will get serious so he keeps his distance but then he is assigned to work a case with her posing as a couple and it seems fate is working against him when at the fist meeting at the resort she wins a bag of sexual aids then later at dinner she wins a large box of condoms. A Dragon shifter romance to relax and enjoy.

The novel is mostly sex but somehow it did manage to weave a story into it. This is not the first story I have read that the male must have sex or 'his' outcome (no pun intended), results in something negative or unwanted.
It has taken women a long time to achieve equal footing with men(oh wait that hasn't happened yet) but we are closer than 50 years ago. But, I am starting to think the romance novels are actually written by men who are trying to hoodwink women into believing our importance is laid(once and no pun intended), in fulfilling only their needs. At least these female fantasy novel characters get to orgasm.
Will I stop reading these type of novels and seek stories written on a higher plain? Hell no.

There was a BONUS book included 'Curse of Brandon Lupinus'. A quick enjoyable read which I rated 4-stars.

Cheers

Romance with New Zealand dragon flair.

George Taniwah runs a security / PI team with real Taniwah.

For them, the Taniwah, a blue moon means lots of sex and/ or transforming to dragon form,

Emma has had a crush on Jack for at least a year, and been really smitten for months at least.

He fears being with any non dragon in a serious way after a disaster with a previous relationship.

A joint assignment to a couples retreat locale leads to some hot action- along with some mixed signals, since Jack fears attachments.

Can Jack and Emma survive their assignment and their connection to each other?

A yummy read!

Ancient dragons and their mating
Shy Emma decides for once to go after what she wants. And that is Jack. He is a taniwha, what she does not know. Forced together into a mission, they have to pretend to be a couple. Jack is in need of a lot of intercourse in order to keep his dragon at bay and he uses meaningless women for that,so being whilst it comes the most dangerous time, with Emma on an island isn’t the best situation he can find himself in.
It should be an easy drug case, but the author led us in a different direction. Also the end was for me disappointing. It made no sense and felt rushed, it was not a clear end.
Besides that, it had been a nice fun read.

I enjoyed this shifter romance but not without a few reservations. I liked the premise of the story but felt the execution came up short. The case that Jack was working seemed completely unrealistic. He is a private invetigator not a Cop or Fed. Although I liked the idea of Emma deciding she wanted Jack to finally notice her as a woman, I really could not connect with either character that well. This could have been me and other readers may feel differently. I would have loved to see more character developement and depth to the story line. This is my frank, freely posted review.

Emma and Jack work at a private detective agency. He is a detective and she is the receptionist. But Emma has done the detective course and wants her first case. She has been crazy about the gorgeous Jack ever since she started working there. When they get partnered together on a case, she is over the moon. Jack not so much, even though he has been attracted to her from the beginning. Jack also has a deep dark secret. Will Emma be able to handle it when she finds out? Fabulous story and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This was an interesting read which mixed mythology, romance and private investigation together, for me I wanted a little bit more from the PI side. I had mixed feelings about Jack at times and his treatment of Emma, their chemistry was believable but some of his actions didn't sit well with me. I would have liked the story to be a bit longer so that I could see Jack afterwards, who he was and how they were together everyday. I did enjoy seeing Emma flummox Jack, she was perfect for him.

This first book in the series has me wanting to read more. Emma is a wonderfully well written character. Jack is not as much of a jerk as he seems. There is lots of hot, steamy sex. Emma does a better job of information gathering than Jack does but he doesn’t tell her everything. The story was good without the steam but adds a lot to the reader’s enjoyment. This is a great quick read I would definitely recommend.

Emma wants to be an investigator and she also wants Jack, who work at the firm she is employed with. She is beyond ecstatic she gets her at at both at the same time. Jack has convinced himself he does not want a relationship with anyone after one went terribly wrong at the end. He wants to avoid the beautiful Emma at all costs. Their encounters are the bulk of the story with the investigation a subplot. Explicit. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This book is superbly written. The story pulled me in from the first page and I was engrossed until the end. The storyline is gripping, exciting, and well though out. There is mystery, suspense, humour, danger, lots of adventure, and very steamy moments. The characters are loveable and the chemistry between them is off the charts! Strongly recommended.

She knows what she wants...

She knows what she wants and it's time to go for it. This is the first book in this series. There is plenty of chemistry, adventure and danger....and that's just between Emma and Jack! Once you add in the rest of the story-line, it makes for a very good read. Getting ready to start book two.....

Jack is an investigator at George Taniwha Investigators And Security. He is also a taniwha dragon shifter. Emma is the receptionist for the security company and has the hots for Jack. The only problem with that is Jack doesn't do relationship. He only does one night stands. Emma wants to be an investigator and George finally gives her her chance. The only problem is its with Jack. I enjoyed this book

Her writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story, I found myself in love with not only the characters but also the world she created.
Her descriptions of the characters abilities are so involved, you can truly picture it in your mind. Their attitudes toward the events that are happening makes the story even richer.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. I read this book as part of Shelley Munro's Shifter Shenanigans box set. (Also included were My Scarlet Woman, a Middlemarch Shifter series opener and Fiona's Mates, the Churchill Polar Bears opener.) You can't help but have a good time when you read Shelley Monro! Jack is in for an eye opening surprise when it comes to Emma. A fun quick read that will have you craving more!

The Female Lead was...ugh

Okay the chick was beyond incompetent and basically only seemed to be there to act as a sexual partner. I mean I tried, but during the blow your case because you're angry scene I was just done with this chick. The whole plot was just extremely unlikely and honestly she was like that character in a horror film where you're almost happy when they die because they're just too dumb to live.

Good series start

This book was in usual Shelley Munro form; good plot, great character development and wonderful conclusion. Jack and Emma made for a great couple and they were consistent throughout the entire book. My only concern was that the point of the "case" became lost in the sex subplot. Looking forward to book 2.

This is a really enjoyable paranormal story. With strong lead characters, a commitment phobic detective & his new partner, & Secretary who is totally smitten with said detective. There were plot twists and a few passionate get togethers. I didn't like the ending though - it read as being rushed and unplanned almost like the necessary word count had been reached.

I wanted to just devour this book, and that's what I did! Fun storyline, kick butt main gal, and a leading man who was a wounded jerk with potential (I won't tell what, but the defensive jerkiness makes sense, I promise). Add in super hot loving and I'm ready to sign on with the taniwha myself! Ready for the next in the series and hoping it's just as good as this one was.
