Riveting personal account from a prisoner

I was interested as I have an ancestor from Illinois infantry who was taken prisoner at the Battle of Chickamauga. He was there for a year but succumbed to his death from severe Scurvy and all that disease entails. I had read John Ransom's diary, but found this much more detailed and as described, very graphic.

Outstanding eye witness account of the horrors of time spent in the Rebel Hellhole called Andersonville. How the author was able to survive a year there is incredible with scant food or any type of supplies including sufficient clothing.
