Ramsey/Tesano #6

A Lover's Return

Rate this book
Persephone James had a brilliant mind. With a degree in Oriental medicine, the beautiful doctor had a well-respected name in the field of acupressure therapy, an exotic home and lovely twin girls to raise. There was only one thing she wanted. Sadly, it was the one thing she would probably never have. The man she loved was inclined to veer towards hate rather than love when he discovered she had been raising their children without him ever knowing they existed. There had been reasons- there were always reasons-matters of life, death and outwitting the monstrous… In this instance, they all pertained.
Hilliam Tesano should have been veering towards hating the woman he loved. He wasn’t. In spite of the way Persephone had left him years ago; when they were at their happiest, he could not hate her. What she had kept from him though, surely he could- should hate her for that. He had met her at a time and in a place where pure innocence was rare. She had been precisely that. Now they were in each other’s lives again and once again, pure innocence was in a place where it had no business.
Hill and Persephone are about to take part in a final push to silence the threat that had wreaked regret and ruin so many times over. The time had come for a joining of forces. The time had come for all secrets to be revealed- all stories to be told. The time had come for a lover’s return.

Lengthy but a non-spoiler review:
Altonya have done it again with this much anticipated novel. I cannot begin to even imagine the pressure from her readers and fans of the Ramsey’s and Tesano’s to speed her process and yet she did it her way. With this book she was able to tie up all loose ends, answer all our questions and have provided plenty of aha moments without cutting corners. Her style of writing is top notch; clever, creative and pure genius. This book was definitely not a rush job. So full of necessary and delicious details. Every scene had a purpose and every character matter. I was sad to close this book but utterly content and fulfilled. I have read the entire series over before this last book and this series is truly the gift that keeps on giving since I kept rediscovering forgotten events. If you are not familiar with Altonya's writing then this is a great opportunity to get to know this gifted writer. Very few writers put you there all the time, Altonya is a pro at it. With this book as well as the previous books in the series you are still in touch with all your favorite characters, I did say “ALL”. …..Someone is coming back, who?
MarieList.com mentioned that this is a series every romance lover should read. Normally I have a difficult time convincing folks to read a series which consists of more than 4 books, this series have 20 (which includes some novella) and I strongly recommend that it gets added to your library. Although the word romance will deter some, this series is like a well-made drink, equal parts romance and suspense. The romance will keep your content and the suspense will hook you in.
The series is order is A Lover's Dream (2006)/A Lover's Pretense (2006)/A Lover's Mask (2007)/A Lover's Regret (2008)/A Lover's Worth (2008)/A Lover's Beauty (2009)/A Lover's Soul (2009)/A Lover's Allure (2010)/A Ramsey Wedding (2010)/Book of Scandal (2010)/A Lover's Origin (2010)/A Lover's Shame (2011)/A Lover's Hate (2012)/A Lover's Sin (2012)/
Lover's Christmas (2012)/A Lover's Debt (2013)/Vestige (2013)/A Lover's Control (2014)/Lover's Origin: Black Island (2015)/ A Lover's Return (2016)

Enjoy

Amazingly Amazing!!!!!

Let me start off by saying that Altonya Washington did her thing with this book. There is so much talent packed into this author. This book is simply AWESOME. I followed this series due to the engaging dynamics of the characters, the well thought out plots, the feeling of being inside of this story line, the HOTNESS Sef and Hill leads you to need a tall glass of ice water and the overall depth of the story. This one does not disappoint.

Let me start off by saying there were so many OMG moments that I was literally on the edge of my seat. Persephone James and Hilliam Tesano are a match made in heaven. They have been through so much over the lifetime of their relationship. After being separated, these two find their way back to each other and let me tell you, the sparks fly (literally). You also get a chance to catch up with the characters from previous books in the series and even get a few surprise players in the game.

A Lover’s Return is an excellent ending to an AMAZINGLY AMAZING series. You will do yourself a disservice if you don’t pick it up. If you haven’t read the books in the series, please start from book one, A Lover’s Dream, they need to be read in order. Because it is the end, it’s bittersweet, but well worth the purchase. BRAVO Altonya!!! Until next time… 10++++++ starts, HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Sheer Perfection!

I know I'll be editing this review once or twice before I'm satisfied because right now, my mind is blown!

I was introduced to this series two years ago when I think twelve books were out at that time; I read all in 8 days. I ate, slept and breathed the Ramsey / Tesano clan! This series need to be made into a mini series on a cable network to do it justice.

Hill and Persephone were FIRE together; smoking hot in every aspect. Persephone did annoy me by running off and wanting to save herself but I understood; honestly, I would react the same. I understood Hill's frustration too...I knew it was coming more from the alpha side of his personality; the side where the man saves the day.

I loved incorporating all the couples and giving that much needed closure; and what closure it was! I actually sent the author an IM because of a particular scene that had me doing a happy dance! Run.....don't walk...to buy this book and the entire series; you won't regret it!

This is the last installment of the famous Ramsey / Tesano Series by Altonya Washington.
To tell you the truth I don’t know where to begin. This series has taken me on an emotional rollercoaster ride from Book 1 (A Lover’s Dream) to Book 20 (A Lover’s Return). If you begin to read a book and while you are reading you feel as if you part of the book so much so where you feel and see the reaction of each characters as you are reading then this is THAT BOOK. A Lover’s Return is the story of Hill Tesano and Persephone James, and if you read A Lover’s Origin (Black Island) then you will see how Hill & Persephone met and fell in love.

From the moment you begin reading this book you will either be sitting there shaking your head or you will have your hands to your mouth because you can’t believe what is happen. After seeing each other again old feeling has resurface for this couple but until they under the past how could they have a future. You can clearly see that after all the years apart that they still are very much in love with each other, but Hill has to find out why Persephone left and after years of being apart Persephone has some news she needs to share with Hill, as she struggle with how and when to tell Hill, she can’t help but wonder how he will take this news.

This series has many plots and twist and turn and this book is no different. Hill & Persephone will find themselves working together again. This book takes you on the journey of Hill and Sef finding their way back to each other. They embark on bring down this organization once and for all. You will get to see the AWESOME way Altonya brought it all HOME. There are heart felt apologizes, reunions and babies, babies, babies.
A LOVER’S RETURN, the title says it all…..Either way Hill & Persephone return to each other and now that the past has been resolved they are looking forward to the future……….and what a future it is going to be. What a way to end a series with all the burning questions answers and few SURPRISES as WELL. I ALWAYS HAVE QUESTIONS AFTER READING THIS SERIES AND YES I DO HAVE QUESTIONS…………WILL ASK MS. WASHINGTON THESE QUESTIONS IN PRIVATE……..I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

OH BY THE WAY THIS MAN IS 6'8 ALL BRONZE AND SEXY AS ALL GET OUT........................LOVE SCENE...HOT...WATER...HOT.....WATER, KEEP SOME BY YOU.

(This is advertised as 126 pages on Goodreads for some reason but it's definitely over 300. )

Listen… This book was EVERYTHING I needed and more.

If I had only one word to describe A Lover’s Return, it would be intense. The characters, the locales, the explosive conclusion to all that was dark and twisty; it was all intense.

I don’t even have to tell you all how much I simply adore the Ramsey and Tesanos. I have mentioned them time and time again on this blog and will continue to do so for as long as I type. A Lover’s Return is the ending to this beloved series and family that I’ve held close to my heart for a couple of years now. While I eagerly anticipated this book, I was a little hesitant to read it because I didn’t want the story to end. If I’m going to be really honest with you, I was a tad bit worried that Washington wouldn’t live up the high expectations I had. She needed to up the ante on the drama and make me fall in love with Hill andPersephone. The romance part didn’t worry me as much as the drama did. Well, I was foolish to doubt her for even one second. She called my bluff and definitely met my expectations. When I tell you she put her foot in this book, she put her entire foot in this series.

Altonya Washington is one of my favorite authors and I have read this entire series. I could not wait for this book to come out and I had the opportunity to read it uninterrupted 30,000 feet in the air. This book has me so caught up I forgot where I was, the story line and plot were fantastic. I am also so sad that this is the final book in this series. I will revisit this series often because it was so great. Thank you Altonya for your powerful pen.

A Lover’s Return is the final installment in Altonya Washington’s Ramsey/Tesano series and it was a page turner that I could not put down. In this last installment Hilliam Tesano is now ready to return back to the fold and finally put an end to the threat that impacted so many lives. He also realizes that before he can put an end to the threat, he needs to find out why the woman he loved left him without a word years ago. He knows he should hate her but love is a powerful thing and he wants to have that again. Persephone has always wanted Hilliam Tesano and only knew true happiness when they were together. Events have kept these two from each other for years and now Persephone knows Hill will harbor hate toward her when he discovers she has been raising their children without his knowledge. Now Hill and Persephone’s paths have crossed again and now join forces with the others to reveal secrets and finally eliminate the mastermind behind the ugliness they witnessed in this saga. Will Hill forgive and understand Persephone’s reason for flight? Will he be able to end the threat so that the Ramsey/Tesano clans find peace? Readers will need to download A Lover’s Return to find out the explosive conclusion.

I must say I have been anticipating Hill and Persephone’s story and Ms. Washington definitely did not disappoint with this final installment. She did an outstanding job with character development as we saw in Black Island when we learn of Hill and Persephone’s back story, to now see how these characters have evolved years later. Persephone is trying to find a way to tell Hill about his children and prays he does not hate her for it. While Hill is trying to not to hate Persephone for leaving the way she did. Hill is also wrestling with decision to return back into the family business uncover to finally put a stop to the madness his uncles put into motion years ago. The story line flowed and was engaging from beginning to end. Ms. Washington had several storylines to tie up in this installment and she did an amazing job. Readers will laugh, cry and cheer throughout this book as we catch up with the Ramseys & Tesanos. I truly did not want to see this book end but hats off to Ms. Washington for bringing this series to an explosive end with Hill and Persephone. There are a lot of surprises in this book. Overall outstanding read.

Loved This Series!

I Loved, Loved, Loved this series. Ms. Washington did a masterful job of developing the many characters introduced over all of the books. Not sure if all my questions were answered, but I was pleased with the ending. Good job!

Bookhangover worthy!
Love Love LOVED this book. Heck the whole series!! This was the long awaited Hill Tesano & Persephone James's love story, & it was SO worth the wait!! I did NOT want it to end but with most great stories, it must at some point (I guess).

Lots of burning questions were answered & loose ends finally tied up. Although, some of the way it's written & the characters tendencies to speak in a bit of a "coded vernacular" was, at times, a bit confusing & had to be read a second-or third- time. I plan to go back & reread it because I know there are some other pieces of info that went completely over my head.

AlTonya did not disappoint on this wonderful story!

Ugh....where to begin. I don't have much good to say about this installment in a series that stayed around way too long. There were too many unnecessary characters with odd names and no character development. Things just happened with no buildup, none of the characters were interesting and worth cheering for, the story rambled. Skip this one unless you get it for free and you are stranded on an island with time on your hands and a fully charged ereader.

So sad that it's over

WOW! This was honestly an amazing series. The Ramsey/Tesano families and their drama and their love and their passion...... I'm not ready for it tone over. I could honestly read it all again from start to finish and still enjoy it just as much. I loved the mystery of it all and she wrapped it up so beautifully at the end. Where is the movie?! Lol no but seriously Washington did a phenomenal job!
