Rhys has spent his entire life in underground Winderport. He knows there’s a whole other world above his “sky,” but he isn’t interested—until the day he chases a killer to that mystical upper world and sees Kullian, all six-foot-something of perfection. So what if the man is a notorious and powerful Fey Baron? Rhys isn’t a typical law-abiding citizen himself. The very fact that Kullian is dangerous makes him that much more attractive and has Rhys wanting things he’s never even considered before.

Yet an injury causes Rhys to lose most of his memories, and his only clues to his identity are his gun and a camera with pictures of Kullian’s silver eyes looking right into the lens. But Rhys does have a couple vague remembrances—a very strong desire to be in the arms of the sexy Kullian, and the recollection that before his injury he was after a murderer, a killer who just might be Kullian himself...

Hi, my name is Hurri Cosmo and I am a happy ending junkie. I always have been. You can be pretty rest assured everything I write will have one. I am not big on angst. I believe we get enough of that in real life so when I go to read something, to make the real world go away for awhile, I will most likely not chose something that will make me cry. So I write for those people who, at least occasionally, feel the same way. I’m okay with the fact I will probably never write anything “important” but I guess I will have to see where my imagination takes me. I would love it if you would come along.

The beginning of the book was brilliant but this feeling dissipated around chapter 5. I felt there were to many plots in this book (3) plus the love stories. Each not getting to be developed to it's full potential. The author had three great story plots and three gay couples that could have easily made a brilliant series.

*Observations and Pet Peeves: Contains Spoilers*

This was not a bad novel but I had a few issues. First of All I loved the world build, the segregation. Wish this featured more prominently.

Just to get this one of my chest (a huge pet peeve), is that in a group of 7 guys almost EVERYONE is gay. One died right at the beginning and the other barely featured (so we don't even know if they aren't also gay). This does not even include the love interest. We don't need every character to be gay.

a Smaller pet peeve, when a MC refers to his lovers cock as "MINE".

Although I liked the mystery/action the amnesia did not work for me, especially after reading Fall Hard Fall Hard by J.L. Merrow where it was used brilliantly and interwoven as part of the story.

The relationship left me confused, I don't really know whether they were in love or not. They never really had a discussion about their feeling at all. It was wholly underdeveloped, and right at the end they kind of link their homes (Too Fast). They have two meeting really, both containing sex. It had a inst-love feel without them actually feeling in love. (If that makes sense)

No discussion about the MC's past, the one basically a virgin and the other shutting his emotion off after the loss of another.

Liked the idea of the novel felt it failed in execution, not bad but not good either.

Wonderful story with memorable and interesting characters. It's reminiscent of Witt's Falling Sky series and that's a good thing. My only problem with it was too much info dumping. 4.5 stars rounded down because of that.

The new one by Hurri Cosmo is really different. It was kind of strange at first because she didn't stick with the main characters all the time. But I ended up really loving all the characters because the story could not have been told without them. Strong plot, strong characters, crap! Hot sex. Not enough of that! I have to say I wasn't sure I was going to love this one as much as I ended up loving it. But I did.

Rhys lives in underground Winderport with his gang Fury, they all know that there is a world above them that they have heard stories about but never do they ever expect to leave the underground. When one of his gang, Joey, is murdered Rhys is on the trail of the killer all the way up to above Winderport, where the killer has a meeting with a mysterious man. But Rhys has an accident and forgets everything, all he has to go on is a flash of memory of fat fingers and some pictures of a sexy man. When he meets Kullian he can't fight the attraction but he has to regain his memories as he knows there is something important he has to do.

This is a great story set some time in the future where the underground tunnels has it's own civilization and the above world is run by powerful men. Rhys is the leader of his gang, a small group of guys who are like family, but now one of their own has been murdered and Rhys is determined to make the killer pay. Kullian is a Fey Baron, a self made powerful man, and somebody has stolen something that should never fall into anyone's hands and he wants it back. The two men cross paths and their worlds collide but can their attraction really breach the divide of above and underground Winderport?

Rhys and Kullian are both great characters who come together by chance, Rhys is looking for the murderer of his friend and Kullian wants back what was stolen. Their paths cross and their reaction to each other is instant, but Rhys' memory loss is hampering him and after an amazing night with Kullian he attempts to go on the hunt again. While the story is playing out above ground, we also see what is happening underground with Rhys' gang and their desperation to find Rhys but they also have to deal with a rival gang boss who has a grudge against Rhys. The gang characters Teneff, Pylei, Nerin, Westvil and Guneal are wonderfully written and add a lot to the story, enriching the storyline and helping to connect the threads together.

I recommend this to those who love futuristic stories, great characters, a well woven plot, a great storyline with danger, twists and tense situations, a fast developing relationship, hot sex and a great ending.

The writer did a wonderful job with world building in this book. Considering what was all put into the story I honestly believe it could be improved upon by expanding the story and adding more depth and definition to the whole of the book. This would mean breaking it up though into a series of books. For a single undaunting type read this worked really well though. There is enough of the world building to pull the reader into this strange and unfortunately all too believable world of the future.

The plot of the story is a little divided but overall lies along the path that Rhys takes to bring vengeance on the man that killed a member of his gang. The plot is not huge or complicated really. I actually had a good time following this to see how the author brought everything together and made it fun and satisfying to read.

The characters are really antiheroes. Rhys is a gang leader underground. He is fairly successful. He cares about his people and those that are innocent. He even saves younger boys when he can. Kullian is an upside version of Rhys, he runs his own successful “gang”. For both men rules are little more than inconveniences that must be dealt with or worked around. Unlike Rhys though Kullian is cutoff from his emotions, he lost once and will not be weak like that again.

The only think I would say about the story was that it was “shallow”. The development of the plot, world, and characters are all a little shallow and rushed. The main characters are involved in an insta-lust/love relationship that some readers do hate. I personally enjoy these types on many occasions because I want that happy, sappy love! That is why I like to read. I don’t need to just like the heavy complex reads. I can also enjoys those sappy, lovey ones too:)

There were parts of this book that I really loved, but many times I felt like I was being led around by the nose.

It wasn't exactly that I felt like I was being told how to feel, but more of a "he did this, then he did that" deal, page after page, which didn't inspire many of my own thoughts the way that most books normally require.

I would have also like to have seen more actual dialogue, especially between Rhys and Kullian. In the entire book, they were only together on two separate occasions. And no, I'm not talking sexually, but that was the case as well, at two.

Were they just about the physical connection? The book does mention that Kullian was falling in love with Rhys, but again we were just told that time, in one sentence, so that must make it true, right? But I didn't *feel* it, which is why I read in the first place.

At around 156 pages, the book had a *lot* of characters to keep track of, so staying a bit more on point may have helped the book feel more focused for me. Either that or give us a several more pages to help flush out what was actually a pretty damn good story.

3 stars.

This was so very good. I loved the character development and the world building. The dynamics between Kullian and Rhys was sizzling. But there was so much more to this story than just the love story. The mystery was compelling as it came together and we get to see it from both Rhys point of view, who has lost his memory, and his gang's point of view, who are desperately trying to find him. Each party coming on different clues which eventually leads them to the same conclusion. I thought it was done extremely well. There were moments that made me tear up, laugh and draw in my breath. A really great story!

This was really wonderful. I loved it. The characters were great and so was the story. Well woven story line along with a great "other world" that I would love to see more from. I loved that we got to see so much from other characters too. They truly were very supportive of the story line and fit so well the overall feel. One image toward the end had me tearing up and the ending itself was perfect. Thanks Hurri Cosmo for another great read!

The main storyline in this book is simply, weird. But mostly developed shallowly. I'm saying that because it was hard to get a real impression of the created world in this story. The main plot circles around Rhys, a leader of a small underground gang, who is on a hunt after a killer of his friend Joey. In that process Rhys stumbles across a powerful Fey Baron, Kullian, and fells in lust with him. I have to admit, about being bored while reading this story.

Loved it! First book I've read by this author and I will definitely be reading more! The blurb threw me off a bit but I really enjoyed it. I kinda like that I didn't get what I was expecting since this was so much more original. I suck at reviews when I like something cus I hate spoilers and just summarizing the book, but I loved this!

Reading this again was awesome. I always get a kick out of man's constant need to segregate. However, Some things can't stay hidden.

Romance, action, suspense, all the ingredients for an entertaining read.

In a world where gays and lesbians are out in the open, it remains troubling to read a book whose characters in an all-boy gang are overly affectionate with each other—kissing and all. Yet, I allow writers to indulge themselves; after all, most stories are a figment of imagination. I can not help wondering, however, if these scenarios do happen in real life.

We begin by watching an overweight man choking a young man to his death. Said young man dies and and we are deluged with a flurry of emotions—grief, hate, and vengeance—as thoughts are revealed from our protagonist. Then we are set upon a game of rat chase to uncover worlds and secrets. Only these secrets are not what and how we imagine them to be.

Much are to be said about the characters. From a strong lone woman character down to a vengeful anarchist leader, not a single character shows complete development. Two budding romances are hinted, but they never matured. Even our protagonists' attraction lacks enough emotional chemistry to allow such architectural declaration in that ending—which I will not reveal—within a week from their initial encounter.

The author does his best in stitching all lose threads. These threads, however, open up to new stories a reader can only hope to imagine will all soon be weaved into completion. Thus, sequels are in order.

I only hope the author chooses wisely when to open a story with a poem. Rhys does not strike as a character so profound that warrants a subliminal poem. Furthermore, some verses do not fit well with the subplots.
