Bob Danforth #5

Death Ship

Rate this book
“Death Ship” is another suspense-filled thriller in the 45-year-long journey of the Danforth family. This fifth book in the Danforth Saga, which includes “Evil Deeds,” “Terror Cell,” “The Nostradamus Secret,” and “The Lone Wolf Agenda,” introduces Robbie Danforth, the 15-year-old son of Michael and Miriana Danforth, and the grandson of Bob and Liz Danforth. A leisurely cruise in the Ionian Sea turns into a nightmare event when terrorists hijack a yacht with Bob, Liz, Miriana, and Robbie aboard. Although the boat’s crew, with Bob and Robbie’s help, eliminate the hijackers, there is evidence that something more significant may be in the works. The CIA and the U.S. military must identify what that might be and who is behind the threat, and must operate within a politically-corrupt environment in Washington, D.C. At the same time, they must disrupt the terrorist’s financing mechanism, which involves trading in securities that are highly sensitive to terrorist events. Michael Danforth and a team of DELTA operatives are deployed from Afghanistan to Greece to assist in identifying and thwarting the threat. “Death Ship” is another roller coaster ride of action and suspense, where good and evil battle for supremacy and everyday heroes combat evil antagonists.

What a pleasure it was to read this thriller. I had read a review or an article somewhere that Joseph Badal is the 'best author you're not reading'. It's true! What an outstanding effort in his latest Danforth Adventure. If you've never read one of the Danforth saga books, that's okay, Badal has crafted this book so it can stand alone and the reader not be lost. Very hard to do in series fiction and Badal nails it. Give it a try, you'll be glad you did.

It was my first novel by Joseph Badal. He writes like Tom Clancy at his best, keeping you on the edge of your seat, and giving a flip at the end. He'll keep you wondering what's next, then leave you with the feeling that it all ended up right. The Danforth novel is a great thriller that will get me reading more by this author.

Top Notch Thriller

I was a little put off at the very opening of the book but my concerns were quickly allayed by the level of action and excitement. This is a well written thriller that keeps the reader interested in seeing what is around the next corner. This is my first Danforth Saga Book, but I am going back to read the first four because, I am guessing, they will be just as exciting as this book.

Top Class

This is the first of Mr.Badal's books that I've read. And I'm kicking myself that I didn't start from the start of the series. All that I can say is an Outstanding Book, an edge of your seat page turner that sucks you in from they first page and keeps you guessing right up till the last page. They good guy's and woman are real hero's that you want to see kicking the crap out of they bad guy's, and in this book that doesn't happen all the time.

A fun thriller spoiled by ideology. Better written than a lot of the free e-books out there. Paper thin cuttouts for characters prevent it from ever getting to 3 stars. However, the conservative wank-fest that continually interrupts and determines the action keeps it at one star for me. Other readers may not find this so annoying.

Fantastic series

Mr. Badal has scored another great hit with this one. Went into a complete family affair with the Senior Dansworth patrons taking grandson and daughter in law on a “vacation cruise”, all going great until they were hijacked. I don’t want to give away all the good stuff, so read and enjoy, I know that I did - on to book 6

One you can't put down!

This action packed drama is one you can't put down once you have started it. This book would make a great movie. It combines the energy of youth with the wisdom of age as it includes three generations in its cast of characters who thwart a nuclear disaster. Great read.

Another airline read that was quite entertaining. It's got lots of current context with jihadi attacks, governmental malfeasance and a very entertaining plot. The results was predictable, of course, but the twists and turns were very engaging. If you're looking for an adventure novel, this one is pretty good. I don't give novels more than three stars, usually, so this is a good novel.

An Interesting Concept

This book was an unusual concept on the terrorism subject, which made it interesting to me. However, I would find another title for the book that would be a little more descriptive.
