Let’s hope not because this is only Book 2 - Colour! Miracles & Millions - A Story of Gratitude.
I was born in Ireland a long time ago, but only toyed with writing when I was young. Toyed might be too kind. I goofed about with a pen and paper when I was a teenager, but never wrote anything more than a silly poem. You have to fight for your dreams in this life, and I didn't fight for mine. The thought of doing so never even crossed my mind back then and there was no encouragement from my family.
These days I am battling the realisation that the reason I always felt like an alien is because I am autistic. The battle is not me versus ASD but rather me versus the knowledge that nobody was invested enough to have me tested when I was young enough to display many symptoms. Decades spent masking and pretending to be somebody who doesn't exist have destroyed the likelihood of a clinical diagnosis and left me suffering with my mental health.
Writing is a sort of therapy for me. My readers occasionally comment upon the darkness of my story lines. Well, folks, that's therapy for you, never a dull moment and frequently dark.
'Colour' is book 2 in 'The Miracles and Millions Saga' by Ella Carmichael. The book has romance in it but mainly it's a fiction story that focuses on the lessons Dorothy must learn to find happiness - happiness that has been eluding her for so long. After a huge win in the lottery, Dorothy starts to live the high life. But with money comes people who want a slice of the action. The way the author gives the characters in the book both good and bad characteristics of the human spirit really fascinates me. The internal dialogues sound like the back and forth I do in my own head. They know the right thing to do but are they going to be willing to do it, because as we all know the right thing is so often the harder thing to do. I can't wait for the next book!
What a great series. Book one was fantastic, meeting Dorothy at the start of her new life as the mother of twins, divorced, an ex - fiancé & $138+ euro lottery winner. Her relationship with family and friends were a sweeping saga of fun. Now however, Dorothy is feeling a bit overwhelmed & finds a personal assistance just as easily as asking for the right person at the right time from God. Enter Rosa. She's a woman who has what it takes to get everything organized and on schedule for her new emploer. As her personal trainer leaves to return to his homeland, in comes Glenda as her housekeeper. As all pieces are falling into place, in comes a new puppy. Called the Sick Puppy, Dorothy is now worried that someone out there waiting for her wishes her dead. As events become more personal & her new "palace " is almost completed, Dorothy tries to live her life as "normally" as she can...what exactly does that mean & how will it come about? I highly recommend this book, please read Dorothy Lyle in Avarice first! You'll need the background & you won't want to miss a thing! This is my honest and voluntary review.
Wow - 2nd book was just as good as the first. 10 books in the series total. I'm now reading book 3. Multi million lottery win has left Dorothy giving left right and centre to friends, family and charities. As yet the public haven't found out who the winner is. Her psychic abilities have made all her decisions. She is employing what she believes are worthy people, and also being coerced by others into buying things she doesn't really want. At least she is still level headed enough to rein in some expenditure, even though best friends wants her to spend spend spend. Gone is the ordinary 40yr old woman who economises-we now have one that thinks nothing of using private jets. She has done a complete overhaul , from her looks, to her clothing - going for the 'best money can buy'. She has a good heart and worries about others before herself.
This is only book two of the Dorothy Lyle story and I am hooked! This book is so fast paced, with Dorothy having so many things to do, and so many challenges to face. Since winning the money, her life seems to be going at super speed. Her adventures are non-stop! If she isn't swanning off to Spain or planning furniture for one of her many houses, she's starting a new business venture or placing risky bets, just because she can! Although things seemed to go well for Dorothy in the first book, and for a large portion of this book, your excitement for her soon turns to fear when she is outed as a lottery winner and things take a sinister turn! The second book in this series is seriously explosive and I can't wait to get stuck into book number three!
