Really really wanted to like this, but the constant referencing of Alexander's womanizing, and her brother being a total loser the whole time made me annoyed.

Guaranteed, once you finish reading this delightful story, you'll want to go find some mistletoe:) A well written sweet novella that will bring you to a world of jousting, mistletoe and love.

Jaclyn and Alexander have known each other since they were children and now, years later he's back to attend a jousting tournament that had been planned by Jaclyn's late father. The prize....her! The knights only need to beat the one favored to win....the Mistletoe Knight!!!

ONE INCREDIBLY DELIGHTFUL TREAT!!!
Sweetly delicious! Laurel delivers with this amazing, mesmerizing, sensational, heart felt, prize winning, block busting masterpiece that fusing this baby together piece by piece fluidly. Satisfying is an understatement, I totally fell in love with this thrilling treat. Pushing forward with such perfection escalating this baby to staggering heights with this intensely compelling storyline and intertwined plot. A spinning vortex chocked-full of vexing circumstances and a bevy of astonishing events that keep you flipping page after page. The drama, intrigue, distress, turmoil and suspense builds as tension spirals, blasting this baby to life flawlessly. Amazing scenario's that punch dead center with such intensity and unnerving precision, catapulting this gem with unforseen impacts, blowing this baby wide open. The chemistry builds as each layer is peeled back exposing a growing bond and amplifying affections that catapult this jewel to life beautifully. The characters are authentic, original and realistic with depth and qualities that blend and flow. The personalities are well matched and blend together smoothly. The scenes are so graphically detailed it paints an incredible backdrop that feels like you're right there with them. Amazing job Laurel, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.

For a short novella, this was a good read. I took a star of cause I didn't feel the sister should of forgot and forgave the brother like she did. Paul and Jaclyn are brother and sister, but she is the one who does everything to save their castle, people and lands from poverty. Paul is a drunk and doesn't do anything to help her. They have kept a secrets for years, one use to bring money in to their home. Now to honor their late father wish they have to hold a Jousting Tournament and the win gets Jaclyn's hand in marriage! Alexander was their childhood friend but from a poor family. He left years ago to make something of himself. When he arrives back he knows all is not what is should be. Will Jaclyn let him help before all is lost? What does Paul do that is so very bad? So much going on in a short story. I now want to read the rest of the books in this series, there are five of them. If you need a different kind of Christmas story this would be a good one. It test the love of past and family and second chances.

When grown the tailors son, left to make his fortune son of nobility turns into a drunk and its left uo to the girl to keep family and friends fed with hardly any money. When Christmas comes around their father wants to hold a joust for the land and her hand in marriage, but she wants to be able to pick her own husband. The mistletoe knight is a surprise! Games people play

Friendship of a brother and sister and childhood friend endures time but secrets kept. In order to save their people, Paul and Jaclyn must keep a secret for years or face dire consequences. On his death bed they promise their father to hold a tournament with Jaclyn the prize. Sadly their plan backfires and all falls apart leaving Jaclyn in tears. The magic of mistletoe could save the day, after all its Christmastime. I recommend this story.

This book was lovely and had likable characters. I would love to read more about Alexander and Jaclyn. The story was a short, quick read and interesting. Although, I'm not sure I understand how the winner would win the Jaclyn's hand in marriage and the castle. Would that not belong to her brother, Paul, as he is the heir.

Mistletoe, a woman who can joust, a drunken brother and a pretty boy. All of this and more in this quaint story ~

Me gustó la historia, por un momento pensé que Alexander era el caballero del muérdago.

Lo que me desespero fue la personalidad del hermano y el recordatorio de Alexander y sus mujeres.

Just settle into your easy chair and let this Yuletide story weave its magic taking you back to a time when gallant knights jousted for a lady's hand....

“Before we light the Yule log, I want to give you this. You have been a very good girl this year, and a wonderful daughter.” He held something out to her.

Jaclyn hadn’t noticed he was carrying anything. She looked down to see he was holding a branch with green leaves and white berries. She gasped, “It’s beautiful!” and took the branch from his hand.

“The berries reminded me of the winter snow,” her father said softly.

Jaclyn nodded. “But the green leaves belong in the summer!” She looked up at him. “The trees have long since lost their leaves. Where did you find it?”

“I had to travel very far to find it.” he told her, leaning in to add, “It’s magical.”

MISTLETOE MAGIC by Laurel O'Donnell is a veritably lovely medieval Christmas romance teeming with enchantment! I loved it! It's the first work I've ever read by this author, but I do not plan for it to be my last. She writes medieval romances, which have been a particular favorite of mine since I was young and enamored of the tales of King Arthur and Camelot. This particular novella was the story of Lady Jaclyn and Alexander, a champion knight.

As the story opens, we meet both Jaclyn and Alexander as young children, excited about the Yule. Her father has travelled far to find an appropriate seasonal gift for his daughter, a sprig of magical mistletoe.

Fast forward to the same site years later where we learn that Jaclyn's father has sadly passed away, but, before he did, he set the wheels in motion for a joust tournament to be held on his castle's grounds with his holdings and the hand of his daughter, the Lady Jaclyn, to be the riches won by the most talented and strongest knight. The games are on...

This was such a delightful short read! The author's writing was indeed magical as she painted each scene with a life-like touch. I was entranced! You will most definitely want to read this in one sitting. I highly recommend MISTLETOE MAGIC to anyone who enjoys captivating medieval romances.

***Alert! For a short time, this novella is available in a medieval anthology, MEDIEVAL MISTLETOE: ONE MAGICAL CHRISTMAS SEASON, for just under a dollar.***

Lovely read

Such a sweet Christmas story! It's short enough to be read in an afternoon, but long enough to develop likeable characters. Delightful story!
