Staking Her Claim… ~Book One in the Patricks' Brothers series~
Growing up with seven brothers, Alysia Patricks’ had always been considered ‘one of the boys’, which was fine with her. Or at least it was until she met one, Robert Leighton. Robert was a gorgeous, yet emotionally scarred boy who stole her heart at the age of twelve before he’d even uttered a ‘hello’. Deciding to devote herself entirely to helping, Robert heal was easier said than done. Because behind the scenes every hurt she conquered, another three would take its place.
Robert’s life was spiralling dangerously out of control, causing he and Alysia’s friendship to falter and eventually fall apart. But regardless of his devastation at the loss of his best friend, he knew two things to be true. One, Alysia was too good, too pure, and too important to let his demons darken her world. And two, he didn’t intend on sticking around longer than he absolutely had to when he aged out of the foster system. Both of these reasons only served to make it blindingly clear that it was better to let her go sooner rather than later. Especially seeing as his heart, and hers were already becoming too involved.
Fifteen years later by a twist of fate, Alysia comes to Robert’s rescue, and for the first time in years Robert can finally breathe again. For over a decade, he had been merely existing, making it from one day to the next. Seeing Alysia brought everything he’d managed to convince himself was simply a nightmare back into focus with a clarity that threatened to overwhelm him. Basically; Alysia was a reminder of his past that he neither wanted or needed.
Secrets are unveiled, tempers flare, and passions ignite when Alysia and Robert find themselves working together to solve a case that puts her best friend, Harper’s, life in jeopardy. But as horrific memories of his childhood surface, Robert’s attention is divided between unravelling a mystery and keeping his past hidden, leaving him with an impossible choice…Fight or flight.
The line between what he wants and who he needs unclear, it’s left up to fate to decide whether, Robert should cut and run, or if he’s finally ready to accept Alysia’s challenge to stay and fight. Because one this is certain; Alysia has already staked her claim and Robert’s time is fast running out.

I enjoyed this book.. Staking her Claim is based Aly and Rob. They meet when they were teenagers loved eachother then but Rob walked away at eighteen to never return. Until on day they ran into eachother at Robs worst moment in time. Long story but in the end love prevails for the two teens who feel in love and found eachother twenty years later to have a second chance. Aly's brothers are a force of bad Alphas, who all have been in a branch of the military run a Private Investigative Agency who both Aly and Rob work for. I am looking forward to reading about these alpha me fall at the mercy of strong woman. Another good read by Natasha Thomas Happy Reading

This isn't your normal love story. It isn't all rainbows and sunshine. Robert was damaged and tainted. Alysia loved him and wanted to save him. He made mistakes and almost lost her. This time he would not let her get away. Alysia was not going to get hurt again. He had his chance and he blew it. Did she want to give Robert a chance? No. Maybe. Do you ever really get over your first love?
Raw and beautiful. These words best describe this story and what a story it is. The author always does an amazing job in creating both lovable and hated characters. She doesn't shy away from getting gritty and I love it! If you've never read a book by Natasha Thomas, you're missing out.

We met Robert In Saint and Tully's book and the character we thought he was grew and evolved to a kick ass lead!! To learn his backstory his pain and shame made you understand his motives and actions . Adore Alysia she is a true heroine!!!! She isn't some wilting flower and she loves fiercely! The whole crew is amazing and cannot wait for more. The plot twists weren't seen coming and the book flowed so smoothly!!! Natasha has done it again !!!
I don't like to leave bad reviews. I am a dedicated reader, I have over 1,000 books on my kindle. I'm not a professional book critic and I have to give a lot of credit to this author because I truly enjoyed the Devil's Spawn books. I just couldn't really get into this book. It had too much inner dialogue for me. The story was overall great but I found myself skipping over so much of the long inner dialogue.
