Talk about steamy office affairs! Wow! This was a surprise to read but enjoyable all the same! The female character is hilarious and down to earth a normal woman like us all!
This is a very short read that is not a standalone. The writing is cute describing our heroine, Vicki Loom, dancing around with her broom. Fantasizing over her dream man. He happens to be one of the CEO's of the company she cleans for. Who doesn't love an under dog story? Vickie is a janitor and her friend/coworker, Tom, encourages her to apply for a secretary position. He found the application in the trash. Her idea of what she thought made her dream guy bothered me. My perception was she wanted a handsome man, definitely and lots of money. Seemed so superficial, especially when describes herself as ugly.
She does apply but reaches a slight road block with the current secretary, Vita. What a battle axe this one is. She instantly gives Vickie a hard time for thinking she qualifies to apply for the position. The book as I said is brief and in 37 pages brings the couple through their first sex scene. I like more of a build up. I want a little more time taken with the H exploring his prey.
**********POSSIBLE SPOILER**********
The story goes that: Alec Strong spends late nights at the office and so he has watched Vickie for sometime. In fact, it is no coincidence she got the application in the first place.
*******END OF SPOILER*******
That does make the story a little more believable and acceptable but I want to see into his thoughts and see the growing interest instead of hearing about it later. It is only Vickie's POV given. The story leaves off in a spot where I suppose you could quit and draw your own conclusions. I feel that there should have been more to the story than what there was. It's unfortunate. Enjoy!
Vicki Loom is a janitor for an office building. She works with her old coworker, Tom. She dreams of a life with her imaginative lover and wants more. Things change when she finds an application for a secretary job. She meets the CEO of the company and things happen.
I enjoy this story, I give the story 6 and half out of 10 Stars or 3 out of 5 Stars. I do relate to Vicki, I am a plus size woman who used to hate myself and my body. We share similar insecurities. It was a good story and I thought the ending was cute!
Just when i was about to form a connection to the characters, the story ended. It's frustrating to read a story and then wham it just ends. And if the heroine is supposedly 'fat' why does the cover show a skinny woman? Will be asking for a refund and won't be reading this writer again. Just No...disappointing.
There was no plot, the story felt rushed like only the end goal was the reason for writing. There was no connection between the main characters. In my opinion, overall, the story needed more thought and development.
This romance was short, sweet and steamy fun. I was pretty much done with Mac Flynn, but this story made me decide to give him another shot. I like this BBW thing.
I'm always a little sceptical when asked to review a short. But this one made me so happy! Within 15 pages this story sweeps you off your feet. Even with it being this short, it still takes its time to set the tone, the stage and the feeling. Definitely recommended if you like shorts!
Really..you sleep with a man at a (2nd interview) for a job. And I thought he was looking for a wife not sex. This was not about him looking for a wife.
Very short, but hit almost every right note. I would have liked to seen more story up front to explain his fascination with her and maybe the first time he saw her.
