Two years after a brutal divorce, Kat Ryan is making the best of her new life and focusing on being the best mom to her three year old son, Jax. She has her life on track, and even though she struggles to make ends meet, she is determined to build a brighter future for herself and her baby boy. However, when bad boy, tattoo artist Jace Winslow takes up residence across the street from the diner where she works, her concentration flies right out the window, and makes her question everything she thought she wanted.
Jace Winslow is a decorated Navy SEAL with a bad boy edge that sent him into super stardom thanks to a syndicated reality show, Inked by Jace. With the lights of Hollywood come parties, drugs, and more women than Jace knew what to do with, but he's ready to leave all that behind and settle down in a quiet town. At least, he thinks so.
Is there room in Kat's broken heart to let in a new love?
Let me preface by saying that these whamo serials don't bother me. I wait till they're all published and proceed as I would any other series.
What does bother me is when a serials reads and is composed as cut apart chapters of a whole book vs each of the serial parts having merit, value, purpose on its' own.
Sadly, this book is like reading the first three chapters of a whole book. We are basically:
• intro'ed to the characters • given a date • big finale is a flu hospital trip with the kid.
Wow, I know that makes me just have to have book two. Not!
Plot? What plot? Was there a plot?
Writing
The dialogue and voices are juvenile; flat affect; and, aside from cursing and tattoos, they sound like they belong on a Leave It To Beaver episode.
His voice in particular does not sound like an ex SEAL, tattoo artist, Harley-riding, reality show star. Nope.. Not at all. He sounds like a middle-aged woman.
Characters
Aside from the voice complaints, they're just all around dull and boring. There's a little character development on the female MC related to her divorce. But there's zero character development in the male.
I honesty don't even remember their names as I'm typing this.
Bottom Line
^^^ This ^^^is just not worth the effort of changing books every 1-2 hours to hope it gets better.
I enjoyed this book and it left me wanting to read the next book in the series. Katherine is a divorced mother raising her small son with little help from her jerk of an ex-husband. She has no time for dating until the new guy shows up. The chemistry between Katherine and Jace is hot. Do Kat & Jace end up together? Does the scummy ex get his due? Not in book one.
KB Winters, Seal'd Perfection has shot to the top of my most favorite books by you.
When I started reading this book I thought it was going to be about Kat suffering from post partum depression, and then it took a turn that I wasn't expecting when Kat walks in on her husband having an affair with his receptionist, Kat shows us what a stong women she is an leaves, doesn't take his comment "it meant nothing". I stood up and cheered when she walked away and stayed away.
Struggling to make ends meet, but making it work, Kat and her son Jax are reuilding their life in a new town, Kat has a job and is going to school to make life better for them. Kat thinks that being alone is enough for them till Jace, the retired navy seal/tattoo artist moves in across the street from the diner.
Working up the nerve, Jace finally asks Kat out, and shocking us all Kat says yes. The date goes great, and things start to get hot and heavy, when Kat has a moment of OMG what am I doing, and goes running for the hills. When Kat has to rush to the hospital when Jax is sick, her ex meets Jace and is nt=ot happy with what his ex wife has been doing while their son was sick.
I have a feeling that book two is going to see Kat's ex causing drama, but I am hoping it will see Kat with Jace, and maybe getting some inl of her own.
Wow...I really wasn't sure where this book was going in the beginning I really thought it was heading down the depression aspect. However it changed quick and went down the I walked in on my cheating husband one. I will say this KB winters can sure throw in a monkey wrench and make you think you know where a story line is heading and you really have no darn clue.
Seal'd Perfection Book 1 I adore Kat she is strong despite everything that has been thrown at her in this first book. She has had an awful run with a horrible ex. but she is definitely trying to make things work for her son. Jace wow... he is one hell of a HOT Alpha Male and we all love a tatted up motorcycle riding alpha male. I really hope in Book 2 someone kicks her ex's a** or his new wife's something those get me hot under the collar. This book is full of some amazingly hot sexy scenes. Intense emotions and I do mean intense it will be like an incredible roller coaster ride that will keep you going non-stop! I really hope the next book we get to see more action between Jace and Kat the chemistry between the two of them really is amazing I have a feeling these two are going to be fantastic together.
This is shaping up to be a fantastic series! I can't wait for book 2!
Ahhh.....the beginning of a new series!! I love them! It's always so much fun to learn the characters and their personalities and try to figure out where this story is beginning and where you "think" it's going!!
Jace....super HOT decorated Navy SEAL who, of course, is a bad boy..lol! Gotta love those bad boys!! He was thrown into stardom with a reality show he did. Of course, he has women, drugs and everything else that goes with Hollywood! But.....is it enough?
Kat...divorced and a mom to three year old, Jax. She's trying to make ends meet for her and Jax by working at a diner. Jace works across the street from her diner.....and so our story begins!!!
Love the direction this story is headed and can't wait to see where it goes!!
More please!!! This is the first installment of a new series by KB Winters. I'm a huge fan of her writing. Kat decides she wants to spice up her marriage with Mitch and surprises him at the office. She's the one who's surprised. She's now a single mother working at a diner to make ends meet. While working, she sees a moving truck in front of the business accross the street. In walks tattoo covered hottie Jace. Jace is a reality show star and moved to this small town to break away from old demons. You can really get a good feel of their chemistry. I can'twait for the next book! This is a quick read and does end in a cliffhanger.
Infidelity, lies, verbal abuse, hateful words, divorce, when a marriage ends due to infidelity, and then custody issues are strained, and one party is constantly trying to do things to make the other look bad, Kat is doing her best, since she is having to work, while going to school just to pay the bills, since the ex, basically screwed her over with child support. At every chance threatens to take her back to court over custody issues, now she has met Jace, a Reserve ex seal, tattoo artist, everyone judges, where will their story take them to?
This is going to be another wonderful series from Author Winters.
Kat went thrpugh a horrible divorce. Her ex husband is a puece of work and when it comes t ok their son Jax he is just not right. I have a feeling that there is sometging he is hiding.
Jace is trying to get a fresh start in a new city. He has his own demons from his past that he is dealing with. But when he meets Kat things change in him. But will he be able to help Kat with her ex or will she push him away.
Single mom Kat tries to make something of her life. Will ex-military hottie Jace be the person to help Kat close her broken wounds. Will Mitch follow through on his threats? Can Kat embrace a social life without guilt? KB Winters' Seal'd Perfection was a beautiful read with a gentle cliffhanger. An absolute must read!
Kat thought she had it all a husband to love her and a new baby! But nothing is always as it seems! Her husband was nothing but cheating scum! So two years after fighting a nasty divorce and having a toddler she decides to give a chance on the new boy in town who happens to be an ex navy seal and new tattoo artist.
This was great I loved it. here is my honest review . I really liked these characters I like her strength being a mom is hard ,but doing it on your own is even harder. I can't wait to read more and learn more about these characters. Love this author and so will you.
Just finished reading the full series. Older woman with a child and idiot ex-husband. Younger man, Seal in reserve, tatoo artist with PTSD. The On again off again realtionship between them. **THUMBS UP to K.B. Winters, one of my favorite authors. Just the right mixture of romance & agony to keep you trapped in the story, rooting for a HEA. Haven't cried with a good book in years! Hats off to K.B. Winters!!!!
For the love of god.. I fell head over heels for this serious. The bad boy military man/ tattoo artist is a man any girl would dream about.. This story is one most can relate to where its the bad relationship, single mom, military family, or anything else. I can not say enough This serious is worth reading 5 times over at least.
Kat is a divorced single mom that works at a diner. She meets Jax when he enters, and a connection is formed between them Jax is a well-known celebrity via a syndicate show that propels him to stardom. He had everything money could buy but now he wants to settle in a small town. Will his connection with Kat lead them to a happily ever after?
I am really getting fed up with these "books" that are not complete. I did enjoy the first part high I will not purchase the next book. I would have probably purchase book two in the series had the first book been a complete story!!!
Another wonderful book by KB Winters,I really enjoyed this book,an inked handsome my to the rescue who wouldn't love it can't wait for the complete set.
This book is in three parts had I known would not have brought it, not a fan especially since this one was 190 pages. So far Katy is a wimp and her ex husband takes advantage of thT
This story is about Kat who has been liked too and cheated on by her idiot husband. In the divorce she got screwed and he married the mistress. Kat meet this dreamy, tatted, handsome, muscled guy and sparks are starting to fly.
Seal'd Perfection: It was a very emotional but suspenseful story! Great writing and wonderful characters. Jace was amazing and talented for a retired Seal. I loved the attraction between Jace and Kat. Loved this story.
Kat, a divorced single mom of a three year old son, Jaxon. An ex husband who is a real creep. She is finally getting her life together. Jace, ex Seal, tattoo artist and on reality tv. Oh my! This book is super 🔥 Hot. It is much to short a story with a cliffhanger.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Omg! Couldn’t get enough. Just the thought of Jace and when he finally got Kat to talk to him. What an emotional roller coaster this book was!!!!! Loved loved loved.
This is a good start to a great book but I think it should have been all together instead of a short story. I would have gladly purchased the complete book if I would have known.
A well written book but a cliffhanger so you need to read all five in the series to find out the end story of Kat and Jace. Struggles and tragic which are overcome but give the complete story.
Thanks k.b. as usual your books are great. In so enjoy reading your books. I can't want put them down. You feel like you are right there with the characteristics.
Jax is a bad boy by the looks of him and when he moves in across the street from my job and come in every day how can I miss him. A growing love story about two different people or are they
The fathers betrayal, leading to being a single mother, a toddlers purest love, finally the mother gets to reinsert herself into life. Sickness showing Mitch's true colors, too bad Kat can't catch a break. Jace, x-Seal, tattoo guru could give Kat back life's breath.
