I thought losing my memory was the worst thing in the world. Forgetting who you are, and where you came from was like driving on a road with only right turns. All leading in the same direction. A direction I wanted to avoid, a dark tunnel that I had to enter if I ever wanted answers.
Losing my memory wasn’t the worst thing in the world. Learning, who I was, and the secrets I had kept was way worse. The unbearable pull and the passion we shared, mixed with the past that I didn’t want to remember, created a whole new storm. The perfect storm of two kinds of crazy. Stupid little fish.

Slut picks up where Suit left off, Gabriella is all alone with no one to trust but herself. She may not remember her past but she knows the truth she feels deep inside; why the need for all these secrets, why tell the lies, all she wants is to remember the day of the accident; a way to find her sister. Her salvation comes from a small Korean woman, Mi and the one she foolishly gave her heart, body and soul too, Pax.

The past is in the past for a reason, no good has even come from bringing it back. So as each day passes, they must learn to live in their new normal all the while dealing with each memory that unfolds. Each one worse that the other, forever challenging the future of their family.
“Then we have to lay it all out there. Together. I want to know where the hell you came from.”

For Pax, he is dealing with the past he has never taken the time to know and a past he wishes to forget. For Gabby, she has to deal with the choices and events in her life, having to realize without the past she wouldn't be where she is today... in the arms of the man she loves, however crazy their life may be.
“No man will ever love you like I do, Gabriella.”

“I hate the way you love me.”

Slut just fucked with you the moment you open the book, I very much enjoyed how this story was put together, taking it's time to reveal and deal, while throwing in the heat and smiles along the way. You pretty much have to jump in with an open mind, keeping all judgment aside. They claim to be crazy for loving each other and I gladly jumped on the crazy train right along with them.

Pax is my magnificent bastard, making him a hard man to love, but he loves so fiercely and freely, he just has a stupid way of showing it. Gabby I never faulted for all her unfavorable decisions, she did what she had to do at the time and it made her a stronger woman.

It doesn't matter what they did in the past but what they choose to do with the information that they are given. It's not all sunshine and daisies, nothing wrapped up in a pretty red box, and I respect the author for doing it so. Did I want more, yes, but I get it, their story will never come to an end, it's just the nature of their story. But that doesn't stop me from imagining a future for them that is putting them finally at peace.

This second book starts exactly where book one left off and frantically I began reading to find out some well deserved truths. Gabriella is desperate for so many answers to so many questions. The author paces her reveals very cleverly while introducing two great new characters, Mi and Nick. With the assistance of this new couple, all of Gabriella and Paxton’s secrets come to light.

“Tell me the truth. I’ve heard enough lies for a lifetime.”

I can honestly say I didn’t guess half of these reveals they are very well done and creative. I was frantic to find out what happened to Isabella through out the whole story and the level of lies and betrayals on both Gabriella and Paxton seems insurmountable! I think I was most shocked at the Paxton reveals.

To be honest, with every reveal part of me always held out hope that he is indeed changing and honestly has fallen for his wife.

This is indeed a very suspenseful, fast paced series that I have been enjoying and am excited for the novella releasing December 15th to find out even more about these deceitful characters!

“Tell me the truth. I’ve heard enough lies for a lifetime.”

Truth, lies, secrets, betrayals… Slut has all that. I’ve been anxiously awaiting the conclusion to Suit since the moment I finished. I had to know what was real, who was who and where these characters were going to go in this messed up situation. In Slut, two new and very important characters were introduced. Through them, Gabby found a way to possibly regain some of her memories and find out the truth. The funny thing about the truth… there are some truths that you wish you never knew once you find them out. Certain things you can never unlearn and they effect your life and how you perceive things.

Gabriella and Paxton have one of the most dysfunctional love stories I have ever read. EVER. Paxton is one of those characters I love to hate and hate to love. There were points in both books I was like… dude- really? Then there are moments that made me love him. Gabriella is still as strong as ever. She is set to find the truth at any cost. I loved that she didn’t put up with Pax when he was acting crazy. As much as he likes control, I think he liked that this new Gabby stood up for herself.

What I loved about this series is that it was really fast paced, interesting and kept me on the edge of my seat guessing. It was unpredictable in a lot of ways. I do wish that as a reader we could have gotten some Paxton perspective. I think that would have made the entire story. I don’t feel like we were really clued in to what his secret was. Also, I wanted a little more closure at the end. I’m hoping maybe this author will give us an extra scene or novella…. inquiring minds want to know ;)

“Slut” is the second installment in Jettie Woodruff’s series entitled "The Twin Duo" and picks up right where the previous installment ended. This second book is as intriguing as the first and kept me on the edge of my seat. I can’t say it was a suspenseful read, but God, all the secrets, lies and betrays between the two main characters of the story, Gabriella and Paxton, kept my attention until the end.

“Tell me the truth. I’ve heard enough lies for a lifetime.”

Gabriella still can’t remember who she really is or any important details about her past. She’s confused about everything in her life, about Paxton and their relationship. All she wants is to remember the day of the accident and find out what happened with her sister. Where is she? Did she killed her?

Gabriella is saved in a way when she meets Mi, a woman who for some reason wants to be her friends and help her figure out her past and also her present. She and Paxton are helped by Mi and Mi's boyfriend, Nick and gradually we get to find out the truth - details about Gabriella's past, details about Paxton’s past and also what happened with the other twin.

I really enjoyed this second book in the series. IMO it dragged out a little at times, but overall it was a fascinating read and I have to say my mouth dropped open a couple of times. I loved the amount of revelations in this installment. Some of them I didn’t expected it, were clever and I couldn’t read faster enough to find out the truth – who is who and so on and of course to find out if everything will end up well for these two MC.

“Just when I thought I could see a glow at the end of the tunnel, another obstruction blocked my view and everything went dark. A metaphor for my life.”

description

Gabriella was in this installment as strong as ever. I loved her determination and her love for her girls even if she knew…some truths. She had enough balls to stand up for herself and I admired this about her. I also felt for her, for what happened with her when she was just a kid and also for what happened later with Paxton. Poor Gabby. Paxton was so awful with her at the beginning!

Once again Paxton was a big a$$ in this installment. My God,…at times he was so infuriating. At some point his attitude towards Gabriella and their situation changed, but honestly I couldn’t warm up to him 100%. I believe he loved Gabby, he actually admitted it himself a couple of times, but he was just a manipulative prick at times. Ugh! However, he was a good father for his two daughters. I loved him with them. He was so sweet and tender!

Gabriella and Paxton’s relationship was very dynamic to say the least in this second book in the series. Their love for each other was obvious even when they were fighting and at times when Paxton was a nice, respectful guy I really liked them as a couple.

I also enjoyed Mi’s character. She was a little weird, but funny and I loved that she was such a good friend to Gabby. The story wasn’t as fast paced as the previous, but I enjoyed enough. I still have some questions, so I’m looking forward to read the next installment, which I would love to be in Paxton’s POV.

Overall, a great read

Great Conclusion For A Twisted Story!

I am so thankful that Jettie Woodruff released this sequel so quickly. I've been anxiously awaiting this book ever since finishing the first book a few weeks ago. Luckily, the wait was a short one!

Picking up right where the first book left off, Gabby is in a world of trouble. Early on, she gets released from jail, only to dive into the mystery that is her life. She's determined to figure out who she is and uncover the details of her life that led up to the accident.

The secrets of her life are revealed to her in bits and pieces, as she begins reviewing recordings of her therapy sessions. Listening to her catalogued life events proves to be an emotional experience, as truths regarding her relationship with Paxton come to light. The process is both painful and healing for Gabby, causing her to question her every feeling toward Paxton.

Paxton spends equal parts of his time being an abusive, controlling ass, contrasted by a kinder, remorseful version of himself. He is desperate to hold on to Gabby, by any means necessary. While recognizing that his actions have been deplorable, he doesn't regret that it brought him Gabby and cannot deny that he enjoyed the outcome.

I continued to enjoy every minute of Gabby and Paxton's story. Their relationship is abusive and disturbing, but also loving and damaged. Despite their flaws, I am drawn to these characters and their story.

I was happy with the way things ended for the most part. I did feel like everything tied up a little too nicely at the end, with everything just falling into place the way it did. I also wanted to know what the secret was that Paxton never revealed to Gabby. I guess honesty and full disclosure was too big of a leap for these two, but it did seem contradictory to the "perfect" ending. Overall, I thought it was a terrific read!

Genre: Romantic Suspense
Type: Book 2 of 2 from The Twin Duo
POV: First Person - Female
Rating:

Gabriella Pierce’s life was flipped over after her accident. Losing her memory was only one part of her problem. Learning the truth about her past proved to be a double edge sword. Sometimes, the past is better left where it is when it risked ruining the future with Paxton Pierce and her children.

Slut picked up immediately where the previous book left off. Where Suit had intrigue and mystery, Slut was more of unveiling the truth concerning Gabby’s pre-marriage and the more immediate pre-accident past.

Just when I thought I could see a glow at the end of the tunnel, another obstruction blocked my view and everything went dark. A metaphor for my life.

Gabby was desperate to learn of who she was, but at the same time she was unwilling to risk losing everything she had learned to love – the family she always wanted.

Paxton was a manipulative, hard headed bastard, and I absolutely love him. He was infuriatingly sexy. We got to see a lot more of his softer side. I love how he was with his children and how he tried to make up for his past indiscretions.

“He’s not a bad guy, Gabby, just stupid as hell,”

There were two new characters in this book and one of them was Mi. She was all kind of crazy but I love her eccentricities and she became a breath of fresh air to the series.

I loved him, and I loved our magic. Even if it was all messed up. It was ours and nothing could change that, until it could.

I loved that more of Gabby’s pasts were revealed, but I felt this book lacked intrigue. From the ending of book I, I was expecting some shocking revelation with twists and turns but the story plateaued about the first 60%. Thankfully it did picked up after that, but the revelations felt anti climactic because I could see the answers way before it was revealed. Also, like book 1 (but not as bad), this book also contained plenty of typos and mistakes.

I knew our lives were about to change in one way or another.

The biggest problem I had is how there were still a lot of issues unaddressed. This was supposed to be a 2 parts series, but now a novella will be added to it. I really hope it will be in Pax’s POV and clear up all the loose ends.

Books in the series:
Suit (The Twin Duo, #1) by Jettie Woodruff Slut (The Twin Duo, #2) by Jettie Woodruff Twin Duo .5 by Jettie Woodruff

Note:
I feel like I should round this book down to 3 stars, but since Paxton is a sexy fucker and the sex scenes were hot, I'm rounding it up to 4. Yes, yes, very scientific reason hahah!

Slut begins after the cliffhanger ending of Suit. In this second book, more scenes from Gabriella’s past are revealed through a series of therapy sessions in an effort to regain her memory. As the plot develops, the search for Gabby’s sister continues and an unexpected circumstance is revealed that gives Gabby the necessary strength to move forward. The relationship between Paxton and Gabby remains strained and is one of push and pull throughout the book. For me, I wanted more explanation for Gabby’s past and even her present choices. Instead, Gabby wavered on her decisions with Pax. At one moment she is head over heels in love or she abhors the man. While I understand Gabby’s memory loss was frustrating, there were times when I felt punishing Pax for his past became monotonous. I’m not making excuses for his behavior, but Gabby was a willing participant. Additionally, I was also hoping for Paxton’s POV which would have elaborated the explanation for his need for control and underscored just how much Pax’s feelings for Gabby have grown.

I was most impressed with Pax’s evolution and I adored his relationship with his daughters. With Paxton pushing for transparency and the truth, when a certain revelation is revealed, it seemed as though there really wasn’t much follow through, especially with such a major issue. I felt that was haphazardly swept under rug and actually was a disservice and betrayal to the characters. As a consequence, their relationship is still built on a foundation of lies.

For me, part two felt like an eternal chase for information. I wanted to know more about how Pax and Gabby’s relationship began and why they were both so flawed. There are still many unanswered questions about pre-amnesia Gabby as well. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the deep character development that I was seeking. Despite Pax being a controlling asshole at times, I still liked him. But, my impression of Gabby faltered quite a bit in the second book. With the addition of Mi’s character, she provided a balance to the plot dynamic and I enjoyed the symbolism of her “magic rocks” but it bothered me that Gabby was never committed to the symbolism while Pax and their children adhered to the notion of unity over these rocks! I felt like Mi was a substitute for Gabby's mother's eccentricity during this trying time in Gabby's life. Overall, I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster and I am glad the ride has ended. Lastly, there is going to be a novella, but I feel all could have been addressed in a more cogent manner in the second book.

Slut is the conclusion of The Twin Duet, Suit left me completely speechless with so many speculations I was dying for more. For months, I have thought about this couple and the conclusion to Paxton and Gabby’s story.

The story picks up immediately following Suit. Gabby is in jail and is still confused about who she is, based on her limited memory. So when Lane bails Gabby out of jail and offers her a little bit of help she takes it. Little does she know that this will lead to her meeting Nick and Mi. Nick is psychologist and hypnotists and Lane's partner, Mi is his girlfriend. While Nick wants no part in helping Gabby, Mi listens to Gabby’s story and insist they hypnotize her to see if they can help her.

This relationship really leads to so many answers for Gabby and Paxton, since she still has no memory of her past. I won’t go into how things are revealed and discovered, because it would be a disadvantage to reveal how things unfold.

I think I was alone when I said I was a Paxton fan, even when I didn’t know his past I felt his intentions were somewhat in the right place. I completely stand by that statement. I am not saying he is perfect, he definitely isn’t, but I enjoyed seeing his character develop and grow through the duet.

You do. You make me want to be a better person. Tell me you love me, Gabriella.

Gabby is a bit of a mess and my heart really broke for her throughout the story. I can’t imagine losing so much, so quickly. She lost her identity, the life she knew, and her family. Jettie doesn’t write perfect characters, her characters are flawed, but have these redeeming qualities you can’t help but cheer for. I was definitely rooting for Gabby and Paxton.

This is seriously one of my most anticipated conclusions this year. Not knowing how things would unfold drove me crazy and I couldn’t wait to dive into this story. I did end up truly enjoying the conclusion, but I can honestly say I just wanted more. I felt like we still have some things left unanswered and I wanted more a definite conclusion. I understand not all secrets will be revealed, but as a reader I felt a little cheated not knowing. I did read that Jettie is writing a novella to accompany the story and I am so looking forward to it.

The unanswered questions is really my only issue, but even then I still highly recommend this read. It is sexy as hell, raw, suspenseful and entertaining. I seriously enjoyed this duet, highly recommend!

Are you ready for the truth? I thought I was, but nothing could prepare me for the startling events that would unfold in this second installment of the Twin Duo.

 photo image_zpsgmqbczga.png

Pax and Gabby have a very unique and unconventional type of love. I was at odds with my feelings constantly while reading this book. Because love isn't always perfect and what connected these characters was something so deep and meaningful, that it's impossible for the reader not to be pulled under the wave of emotions brought on by this very original story.

Pax is a man who loves and fights fiercely. He is totally addicted to Gabby and more often than not he can't control himself around her. He adores his family and is willing to destroy anything that might threaten to take them away from him.

Gabby is still trying to make sense of her crazy life and every time she thinks everything is going to be okay after all, something devastating happens that pulls her further away from Paxton. Her priority remain her kids, but it's undeniable that the power Pax has over her, goes deeper than anything she ever imagined.

The reader goes through the motions together with this couple as they fight and love hard for their future but no matter how hard they try or how far they go, their future seems very uncertain.

Jettie Woodruff is out to get us with this story. She didn't hold any punches and makes us suffer until the very end but just like the previous book, it felt sooooo good! You will beg and beg for more and she will release the answers but with a dropper and even after I was finished with the book I still craved more. I NEED MORE!!!!!

This story was so memorable and I'm sure it will haunt me forever. I was bewildered by how much I loved Paxton, because his character was so cruel at times. I could palpably feel Gabby's struggles when it came to her husband. He was so charming and intense and he even almost makes you crave the harshness of his actions and words.

Whether it's love, hate, lust or any other emotion, I can guarantee that you will feel it with high intensity when you open this book and surrender your mind to this story. I loved it!!!! The question now is, do you dare????

In book two Gabriella Pierce is dealing with the fallout of being accused of impersonating her twin Isabella. She wants to know what happened the day of the accident, but still has no memory. She may never get her memory back, & she doesn't know who to trust. She's desperate and alone, and even worse she doesn't know who she really is. Throughout this book we wonder if she is Gabriella or Isabella???

 photo 81ED8054-BCD3-4FA3-8C70-631424A78500_zpsmsop3im8.jpg

She feels betrayed by her husband Paxton, but still wants to be close to her girls. Once she's around Paxton again she falls right back under his spell. She is powerless to resist him. She is still deeply in love with him & insanely attracted to him. She can't forget his touch & she craves him.

 photo F2906951-4359-4D24-BEA0-CD34E4287199_zpss5l7vzaz.jpg

Gabriella isn't the wife Paxton married. He can't easily mold & control her anymore. He starts to fall for her, & we begin to see a tender side to Paxton that even he is shocked about. This dysfunctional couple grows to have real feelings for one another & realizes they have something worth fighting for, & they try to build a future together as a family.

We get a lot more of both Paxton & Gabriella's pasts. We get answers & some shockers. This couple is one roller coaster ride after another, but also oh so delicious! I went from disliking Paxton in the first book to loving him in the second. This hard, intense closed off & often cruel man has it in him to love, & is even funny. There are many layers to Paxton Pierce, & I've enjoyed experiencing them all! This series has been a bit of a mind fuck but I've loved every minute! ;))

-Paxton was a hard man to love, but he also loved hard when he loved back.

-I was in love with a family I didn't remember, and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

This is the continuing, crazy, what-in-the-hell-is-going-on, messed-up romance...yes, romance of Paxton and Gabby! I know, I know...after the first book you might be questioning my sanity, hell, I'm even questioning my sanity but you just have to be patient and wait for it.

Because really, the romance is my favorite part of the story...the romance and the family. In the first book, we saw some softening of Paxton and some feelings come out of him that gave us hope but I was left wanting more.

However, and this is a big however, WTF was with that prologue? I was certainly thrown by that...and unfortunately, that's not the only time that Paxton is going to throw you for a loop. We definitely learn some humdingers about him and they are hard to swallow. (Unfortunately, pun intended...ugh!)

description

After where Paxton "sent" Gabby, she meets Lane's associate, Nick, and his girlfriend, Mi, who is a godsend. Gabby desperately needed a friend and she got one in spades. She also got more information than she probably bargained for in the form of recordings that Nick had. These have a profound effect on Paxton and Gabby and to be honest, they were pretty painful. I could've done without hearing some of the stuff. However, Gabby is pretty persistent in trying to unlock her memories and find out more about herself so they continue to listen.

And it really works a number on Gabby and Paxton. Yes, we get some answers but there are still a lot of questions...ones that might never be answered.

In this book, I really felt that Paxton was making all the progress and Gabby was regressing. Did she have a right to withhold her feelings and to be upset? Of course, she did...it was just hard on the relationship.

Overall, I liked how things ended up but am I fan of Paxtons? I'm just not sure because even at the end, he was still calling her names, maybe not "slut" but definitely other ones.

I was happy to hear that there will be a novella coming out December 15th called Solid. Hopefully, we will get the rest of the answers there.

What the heck was that? It took me 3 days to read this book and I still don't have any more closure than I had at the end of book 1! Gabby...Izzy...whoever she is or wants to be, is a hot mess...I'm convinced she's a bit schizophrenic! Pax...I have no idea how I even feel about him. One minute adressing his wife as a slut and now calling her "baby." He Loves Her! Really? He's Always Loved her...you know those submissive innocent eyes and naked office cleaning episodes really binds the heart. I think I needed his POV or more background on him.

The whole thing was crazy. I enjoyed the F*** yous the most as well as the crazy baby delivering Mi! I found myself cringing at the intimacy and I guess i just didn't get what I needed after being rocked so hard by Suit.

I don’t regret reading Suit, book 1. I loved the story, I felt it was epic, addictive and it suited my dark needs. I was REALL looking forward to Slut. I HAD SO MANY QUESTIONS.

I think when I read a dark series, I kind of like a change of pace. If the first book is really intense I need something lighter in the second book. You will not get that from Slut.

The first question is… is she Gabby or her twin? For now, we call her Gabby.

I liked Slut, correction; I liked the idea of Slut. I liked the whole mysterious aspect of it and I liked uncovering clues with Gabby, but there are many times I wanted to throw my kindle at the wall.

Slut is frustrating, the pull-you-hair-out kind of way.

Gabby still doesn’t have her memories and she goes to two friends to help pull her memories out. It seems to me EVERYONE knows what’s going on except for Gabby. The most frustrating part of the book is that NO ONE wants to tell Gabby what’s going on.

Also the first 28% of the book is very descriptive and I skimmed a lot of that stuff because I just didn’t care about anything unless it involved Paxton and Gabby (Paxton and Gabby don’t even interact until the 28% mark)

The parts I enjoyed the most were the flashbacks, because it was the only part of the book where we understood how Paxton and Gabby met and who Gabby was. It was hard to read the flashbacks throughout the book because I felt like I was putting a puzzle together, but it also felt rewarding, like I didn’t want all my cake yet.

I really wanted the sexual tension. I loved it in Suit, so I kind of wanted it again in Slut, but no. The steam is very tame, just a few scenes and it wasn’t that kinky. I was a bit disappointed but not every book needs steam.

And of course the relationship between Paxton and Gabby is REALLY messed up. I’m on the fence with Paxton. I loved him in Suit, but he got on my nerves in Slut. The whole “I love You” and then five seconds later “I hate You” was just a lot. If I took a shot for every time Paxton and Gabby’s personality changed towards each other, I would be dead from alcohol poisoning.

I understood what the author was trying to do in the story and overall it was good. I know it seems like I am ranting, but I guess I’m just overall emotional. I was taken for a crazy ride and I’m not even sure if the ride is over even though I’m forced to get off. Does that make sense?

So here’s my HONEST opinion. I loved Suit. I thought it was a PERFECT physiological thriller. I am disappointed in Slut because I had high expectations. I wanted so much more, but I don’t regret picking up the series.

Suit, book one in The Twin Duo series, completely messed with my head and left me with questions and theories galore. I’ve been sitting on my hands, not so patiently waiting for Slut, ever since. And it did not disappoint.

Picking up right where Suit left off, Gabby is on her own, with no resources, and not sure who to trust. Desperate to find answers to her past and what happened to her twin sister, she turns to Nick, a renowned psychologist and hypnotist, in an effort to get to the truth. But will the answers give her peace or are some truths best left forgotten?

Paxton… Oh, Paxton. He’s one of those characters you love to hate and hate to love. I swear I had emotional ADD when reading this book. One minute he could be so tender and vulnerable, then the next he was an absolute monster. As the answers started to trickle in and showed all of his flaws, I couldn’t help but love him… And then feel guilty that I did.

There were a few new characters that added a lot to this book. Nick and Mi, in particular. As the ultimate odd couple, their constant bickering was hilarious and served to lighten an incredibly dark mood. Mi was feisty and fun, but she was also wise. Her new agey advice and sympathetic shoulder helped Gabby stay focused on what was important to her.

Slut Lotus photo Slutteaser2_zpskah8pwts.jpg

This book had me doing everything from shouting at my Kindle and slapping my forehead, to gasping in horror (what happens at 54% totally did me in). In the end, did I get all of my questions answered? No, but most of them were. And, even though I think those lingering questions are fitting, I can’t wait to get my hands on the novella to see if I can get a few more pieces to the puzzle.

HAH!!! HUH!!! HAH!!! HUH!!!

Was that convoluted or what! And talk about dysfunction! And zigging and zagging! And hot and cold! And nuts! Gah!!!

First, you get this WTF prologue! Then it picks up shortly after where the first book ended. Then you slowly learn things along with Gabby. Then... hmmm...

I admit, it felt on the anticlimactic side. But honestly, this got me either scratching my head or frowning for the most part. I don't understand any of their reactions for the most part. I don't understand why certain things went down the way they went down. I don't understand a lot of things. But it's all good. There were things I understood, like the emotions, the doubts, the inner struggle.

To say that Gabby is not your usual h is putting it mildly. After all, not all h has the challenges she had. Can I blame her for some of her decisions and actions? I'm not sure.

Paxton is a H that got me fanning myself one minute and fuming the next. I went from wanting to slap the crap out of him to wanting to give him a pat on the head to kicking the sh!t out of him to wanting to just give him a hug.

Jettie also made me question everyone's motives, from the H&h's to the other players in this twisted messed up setup. Right til the end, seriously.

For that, kudos to Jettie for what I think is an appropriate ending to this headache-inducing tale of deception and love that's unhinged on one hand yet fitting on the other.

***Three and a Half Stars****

This wasn't too bad of a story, but it just wasn't as good as the first one was for me. The writing was tight, and the story was interesting. The twists and turns never stopped in this one, and I can honestly say I never saw any of the surprises coming. Gabriella and Paxton did finally end up on a good note by the end of this story, but they were so shitty to each other through most of the book, the sex in here just didn't keep me happy for them. I was in constant whiplash from the back and forth from "Happy Together" to "Instantly Pissed Off at Each Other", that I finally just wanted the story to be over with already. I realize there's going to be a novella still to come, so maybe the story will redeem itself with the next book, and these two can finally find the peace they've never experienced yet.

The story continues and Jettie Woodruff knocked it out of the park. I adore Gabby and Paxton's story.

The raw honesty rolls off the page as these two learn to cope with their new normal. As secrets are revealed it's heart wrenching. I love their interaction as a family and with the children.

I won't lie...I want more. I want more of the Price family and what the future brings!

“No man will ever love you like I do, Gabriella.”
“I hate the way you love me.”

THIS BOOK IS NOT A ROMANCE!
ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP
EROTIC THRILLER
SUFFER CLIMAX

AND HERE I AM FOR THE TORTURE!

“You could have said no.” “I don’t want you. I don’t want anything to do with you. I’m so fucking stupid. You’ve never loved me, have you, Paxton?”

*So Paxton loves Gabriella. If it can be called love. This love is not healthy and this love is worse than not being loved. And sadly his type is a real man. There are actually men like him who think they are right no matter what. It's so hurting that this relationship type actually exists, and there's someone who is terribly suffering from this. Both sides actually, because he also needs serious treatment. And I can't actually blame an ill man.

*I felt everything Gabriella felt; It was suffering. OH, SO MUCH! The only explanation of why I liked this book so much must be that I am depressed. When I am depressed, I let myself suffer more and more. AND I LOVE IT. Full-on dark mode!

*OF COURSE, I wanted her to fight back, but this is the worst part of this kind of relationship; the abused can rarely stand back to themselves. And this book portrays this sick relationship so well.

*I don’t ever approve of any psychical violence, but here I said, OH God, at least she is attacking him psychically!! (punch to his eyes, spit on the face)

*Also, at least she didn’t say I love you right away. He was saying it freely, but she wasn't. Tiny little resilience...

“No, it’s not, Gabriella. Tell me you love me. Look into my eyes and tell me you forgive me, and you’ll be here to keep pushing me to be a better person.” “I don’t push you to do that.” “You do. You make me want to be a better person. Tell me you love me, Gabriella.”

*As if it is not enough how much I suffer from this abusive relationship, there’s also a sister-related drama; this is my weakness; sister bound is sacred for me, it always devastates me the worst when it's about a sister. At least I can say that the horror atmosphere covers everything else in this story so that I didn’t feel the effect so so much. Seriously tho, this book is overdramatic, but all I can feel is the abuse and manipulation. YET I LOVE READING IT. PERFECT.

*Can a man like Paxton be truly that genuine and loving with his daughters? And my love for psychology! I seriously wonder what his condition is. Bipolar? OCD? What is it? I wish I knew more...

FUCK. Yes let's start there. reading this second book was wild! I wasn't prepared. It was too much!

The sequel to Suit Suit (The Twin Duo, #1) by Jettie Woodruff opens up right where Suit left off. Jetti didn't miss a beat. We open with Gabriella searching for answers and truths as she starts from jail. This installment is complex, compelling and catastrophic. If you like your books easy, with #Instalove this won't be the author for you. Jetti brings it raw. You will get lots of questions with no answers and more clues. Which will lead you to make more theories. But that is why I love Erotic Suspense.
I loved learning more about Gabriella and Izzy my two Clydes. I also saw Paxton and Gabby claim their love in this twisted saga. But I felt in the end that I still didn't know so much. ugh!!!

New characters in this book I really enjoyed Mi! She spoke to my yin and yang, brought an earthy feeling to the chaos and a redeeming feeling to so much wrong. Lane remained unredeeming and for me still an asshat. Nick Benson a super polished psychiatrist and partner to Lane, is introduced as well. I wanted him to be something he just is not. Nick is Mi's boyfriend. I found him to be cunning and the player in the end.

The plot was wild, there were times that I felt Jetti was risking too much by making it to quick or bold. But it worked. Sex was off the chart HAWT, but it wasn't a central focal point. This story again for me was a thriller.

I can't dig too deep because it will give away certain elements of the story. I recommend the series. As a woman this story was very appealing. As a married woman this hit the nail on the head. Rich women find themselves feeling like property and possessions. Gabriella is Paxton's slut. Often after time in a marriage of wealth where the mom stays home and the man works. There are times when they have to find themselves and reclaim their independence just as Gabriella is doing.

So in the end READ IT!!

4 ~ 3,5 STARS!

After what happened in the ending of SUIT, I had high hope the second and final book will answer the mystery and unanswered questions. But some issues just didn't work out for me.

Gabriella is trying to survive from the disaster. It's hard to searching the truth by herself. She met some unexpected person who could help her. The tug-of-war between Gabriella and Paxton never stop. But for the children, they need to stay together between lies and deceives.
I sucked at playing games. I never won and just like always, I bit the hook, swallowing it whole. Dumb, dumb, fish.

Gabriella still has amazing strength to survive for this disaster. Because of her memory loss, she needs to find the truth. In the journey to search for herself and her twin, she found someone who can help her. A hypnotherapist. Wow.. I never think about it. With her determination, finally she got what she wants. The memory after the storm when she met her twin. It was heart-breaking moment and unexpected.

description

While she's searching her memory, she needs her children. Paxton is the demon she need to face. Around Paxton, it's never easy and always intense. Paxton still an asshole husband but amazing father. He's still hard-ass around Gabriella with his bipolar mode. But after he saw the video from Gabriella's session, he changed. Everything's changed slowly. He accept Gabriella whoever she is. He turns to soft and more human. It's not I don't like it but he doesn't have consistency. His awful mood swings never gone. Somehow near the end, Paxton revealed some of himself and I understand why he became like that. Whose behind Paxton's cold attitude towards women. It is just... plainly sad. Since that moment, he always in control. The first time Gabriella met him, her fears feed his demon.
“I can’t even explain it, Gabriella. It’s so fucked up. I fell in love with your eyes the moment I saw you. The fear in your eyes, the innocence, I don’t even know. You were like a baby fawn, and I craved you. I was fascinated that I could tell you to do anything I wanted, and you did it. After I told you that we were getting married, you told me that you were days away from being eighteen. That intensified my craving for you.”

I mentioned some issues didn't work for me. After 55%, they're enjoying their mundane life with the children. I don't know what to feel about this one. Everything goes down so easy. It's the communication. Gabriella and Paxton never have heart-to-heart conversation with their feeling. Both of them are closed themselves. They're denying each other. They lied to each other. Successful as a family but fail as a couple. Last but not least is the sex. Every time they together, it's always gravitating to sexual. Sadly, it's not as HOT as the first book. Just steamy enough.
Paxton was a hard man to love, but he also loved hard when he loved back. Deep shit, that doesn’t even make any sense. The kind of love that you have to work hard as hell for, because you know how good it could be. That’s what I had to push for.

The lesson from this story is everything happen with a reason whichever we like it or not. The fate could be cruel. It happen with everybody in this book.
SLUT is a complicated and mind-fucked story. Unfortunately, it's not satisfying and hard to love. Liked it enough but lack of twist like the previous book. I still have some question answered and I hope it's in the novella. After all, Gabriella and Paxton have their happily ever after even it isn't the normal one. They need to work it out.

Suit (the Twin Duo #1)
Slut (the Twin Duo #2) by Jettie Woodruff
Suit 4.5 stars!! Slut 4 stars!!

“I was always the quiet one, the one who followed suit, doing what others told me to do.”

This was one of those series that I knew I needed to read in one hit, I had heard the whispers on the grapevine and I was glad that I had decided to read them together. The first book had me on the edge of my seat frantically page turning. What a mind f@@k!! This book had my head all over the place but in a really good way. An intricate storyline that will have you reading between the lines, assuming and then unassuming. Just when you think you know what is going on it isn’t and you are back to where you started…knowing nothing at all.

“I was the missing link, the broken one that didn’t fit anymore.”

I have to admit that in the beginning Paxton was a tough cookie to like, he came across as an obnoxious asshole, dominating, possessive and a touch sadistic. He lacked emotion and empathy, he was an empty vessel. But, and this is a huge BUT, I knew that there must have been a different side to him.

“You have everything to suit your needs, and I have you. My slut, to suit mine.”

Paxton was an amazing father and when you saw him with his kids you just knew that there was a different man underneath the charade. Having had the benefit of reading book two as well I am glad that I was proven correct, but by the end of book two (Slut) I adored him, despite his domineering ways.

Gabriella was Paxton’s wife and after a car accident she wakes up with amnesia. She doesn’t recognise her husband or her children and everything around her is alien and confusing. Gabriella struggles to fit back into her old life, especially with regards to Paxton and his emotionless ways. Everything seems to be a charade and she just wants to be Gabriella, but is the Gabriella that woke up the same Gabriella before the accident?

“I loved him, and I loved our magic. Even if it was all messed up. It was out and nothing could change that, until it could.”

With secrets and lies and little flickers of recollection slowly but surely coming through vivid dreams Gabriella thinks that she is slowly piecing together her life before and leading up to the accident that claimed her memory…or is it? Is everything as it seems?

“No, tell me truth. I’ve heard enough lies for a lifetime.”

Slut was not as intense as book one, Suit. Slut is what I call a book of revelations. A book where the past is finally revealed piece by little piece and secrets and truths are painfully divulged. Everything you thought you knew you don’t and what you thought was real was and wasn’t.

“Change the way you look at things and the things you look at will change.”

I loved how the past was revealed, I loved the transformation of Paxton and how we finally got to see the real him. For a man that I had loathed in the beginning I was glad my gut instinct had not let me down. He really puts himself out there in this book and I could understand why he was his emotionless self in Suit.

“We’re the perfect storm of two kinds of crazy.”

This was a book of second chances, a redo, how not to repeat the mistakes of the past when you are given the chance of a clean slate and a fresh future. I loved it.

“…I’m so stoked to make new memories.”
“I promise to make them better than the ones you forgot.”

I understand a Novella will be released in December. For this I am thankful, I still have a few questions that I hope will get answered…I cannot wait!!

I am so used to finish a romance with a HEA and although this give us a HEA, somehow, it left me with a sour taste in my mouth.

I have issues with lies. I wanted so bad a fresh start for them, with no lies and so I can not help feeling betrayed.

If you already read the book, you might be able to understand me.

Before Gabby lost her memory she was seeing a therapist who was trying to help her through hypnosis forget something BAD that happened to her. She wanted to be able to enjoy sex with her husband.
With a friend's help she managed to convince the doctor to let her listen to 7 recorded sessions she had with him. The Dear doctor made her a deal: He would let them as a couple listen to 5 of them however, 2 of the sessions, each of them would have to listen as solo.

So, Pax

listened one session without Gabby and Gabby

listened one without Pax.

There, session after session, listening to her recorded session of hypnosis, a past she couldn't remember was revealed to her.

And here is where I feel betrayed.

Pax found out something bad and was supposed to decide to come out clean with her and he chose not to. Gabby never found exactly what was in that file and neither did I.

Same happened with Gabby's solo. She found out something BIG, that would crash Pax's feelings and so she chose not to tell him about it. At least here we got to know what it was.

The doctor knew it was a game changer for both of them and that is why he wanted to do it this way.

I keep trying to remember this is just a story, that I shouldn't feel bad. Convince myself that is was just omission, not a lie. Nevertheless I can't seem to let it go.

I wish they had come clean with the bad and the good. Faced it and started from there.

Absolutely loved crazy Mia and the girls!

Wow. Tho book was a wild ride and I still need answers!
In this continuation, we learn more about Gabby's accident, her relationship with Paxton and many secrets are slowly coming to the surface.
I especially loved the prologue. It gave us great insight to Paxton's mercurial personality. I have to say that his relationship with Gabby still confuses and enthralls me at the same time. We do learn a lot about their shared past but we also learn why Pax is the way he is with Gabby.
Gabby herself is slowly finding out more about her life and her sister and I loved how the author incorporated new amazing characters into the story.
I loved how our couple worked as parents. They clicked but their intimate relationship is intricately twisted and heavy. They are both imperfect but they somehow complete each other when they shouldn't after how Pax has been treating Gabby. I still have a ton of unanswered questions and I am very curious to see how everything will proceed when we get the novella.
The writing was excellent and had you guessing all the time. It also had humor and of course, sizzling sensuality. I loved it. Do not miss this. It's unique and refreshing.

These two books became the best books of 2015 for me! Mystery? Check. Hotness? Check. Love/hate relationship with the characters? Check. Unpredictability? Double check!

See, when I finished Suit I had my theories and guesses. I even re read that before Slut came out, so I could be certain. But, nope. Jettie had very different things in mind and I LOVED every single bit of it.

I loved that we get to find out the who is Gabby/Izzy mess early or else I would go crazy! There were times I got real angry, both at Paxton and Gabby. They have a tough relationship, filled with secrets and when they came out one by one I was shocked! Especially when

It was worth the wait and now it's time for counting down the days for the upcoming novella!

This is how I felt reading this. Chasing something you are never gonna catch. Led to believe this girl has a multiple personality disorder. Only she doesn't. We got few answers to a hundred questions. Then treated to an abrupt ending. And our SURPRISE at the end of the book from the author is ..... A novella is being written now! Great I so want to spend more money to not get a full story. Cutting that string.

The biggest surprise for me was how I ended up liking Paxton!! Like seriously how the fuck did that happen!!! At first I was a little disappointed. Cause I thought I needed this totally mindfuck book after book 1. Then I realized there's lots of messages in this book. We all have a past and as we get older we learn that's where the past must stay in the past. Also the irony of izzy showing up when she did was sweet. Twins are very special and both these twins got to save one another at different times in different ways but save nonetheless cause one wasn't strong enough at the time to save themselves. Plus everyone needs a Mi in their life as well. Oh and I loved how the author made Paxton eat his words!! Even if he didn't know he did!! Clever clever!!
