Hi! What to say about myself...I love to read, and create stories for others to enjoy. I've always been told I have a vivid imagination, I just lacked the confidence to pursue putting it onto the written page. But finally I embarked on making a single dream come true.
I love to read, and write. I only read romance, any genre really, but it has to have a beautiful romance. I also demand a HEA, even if it takes two or three books to get there. Reality is too broken and jaded without having to live through the trauma and angst in a book for it to end unhappily.
I would love to connect with readers to hear their views on my work. So come chat to me:

In a world of chaos and pain, you are my silence."

Silent Scars was my first book by this author and I can say with certainty it will not be my last. I do think I did myself a disservice by jumping into book 4 in this series without having read the previous books. Don't get me wrong, this works well as a standalone and I was never confused, but it's clear there's a history with the secondary characters that I was missing. Ryan's relationship with his brothers is something I would have loved to have read first before jumping into this book, but it is what it is. I definitely plan on going back and reading the rest of this series now.
...I needed to know how you healed silent scars.

This was an extremely poignant and emotional read that was almost difficult to experience at times. Ryan's history is absolutely devastating. Everything that he's been through and the memories that continuously haunt him to this day made my heart bleed for him. This is not an easy story to swallow. It's dark, it's emotional, and it's a story of survival.
I'm not broken, Aloura. That would imply I could be fixed. There is nothing left inside me."

After a devastating injury on his last tour in the Marines, Ryan is out. And while he may have his share of physical scars, none are as debilitating as his silent internal ones. The scars of his past and what he's survived is what haunts him. The guilt of what he's been through continues to eat at him. He's a shell of a man that doesn't believe he's worth anything, let alone the attention of a beautiful woman he's hired to protect.
I don't want to be someone's possession, Ryan. Belongings can be expandable, thrown away when they are old and dirty. I want to be a part of you. I want to wake up each morning with a feeling of completeness because I know you're near. I want your soul to greet mine. Show me all of you. Give me your pain and I will give you my joy.

Aloura was an interesting character. She's a bit quirky and introverted, she's shy and unsure of herself. As the daughter in an unorthodox family, the quirkiness is basically guaranteed. Her father is the owner of a medical research company that's been working on trialling a new cancer treatment drug and controvercially they test their drugs on human patients. When the threats turn to his beloved daughter, he hires security, and Ryan just so happens to be the unwilling bodyguard. Aloura is non too happy about the shadow, but when she meets Ryan, there's something about his brooding intensity that calls to her. She wants to find his secrets and she wants to heal his deepest wounds.
How was it possible to know someone for only a few hours and feel so connected to them?

The story itself was an exercise in frustration for me. Ryan runs hot and cold so frequently it's enough to give a girl whiplash. He yearns for a true connection and love, but in the same breath he doesn't think he deserves it. And he certainly does his utmost best to push Aloura away in the cruelest of ways. While a part of me completely understood his behavior given everything that he's been through, it's Aloura's that I had trouble connecting with. Ryan is a flat out asshole to her at times, he's intentionally cruel and his words to her were sharp enough to cut at times. Yet she takes it all and wants to fix him. It just seemed like her connection to him was much too quick for me to really connect to. Ryan doesn't give much for Aloura to be as invested as she is and at times I had a tough time swallowing his treatment of her and her acceptance of it.
Tiny dancer, I am not a fairytale prince. I'm not one of your heroes from those romance novels. I'm fucked up, inside I have nothing worthy of you."

I struggled with my rating for days. I want to rate it highly simply on the poignancy of the story, but at the same time I just didn't connect with it as much as I wish I did. I loved Ryan, but something about Ryan and Aloura never quite grabbed me. The story is angsty as hell and filled with plenty of bumps along the way. It kept me reading well into he night but there was always also something missing and while I can't quite place my finger on what it was, it prevented me from enjoying the story as much as I'd hoped.
I needed her like oxygen, she was becoming my reason to breathe.

I have to say that I loved the author's writing style, and I absolutely loved the setup behind the series. I will definitely be reading all the books before this one and the future ones after. While Silent Scars wasn't quite what I had expected, it's still a beautiful story of perseverance and survival that I'd highly recommend to any readers that enjoy that sort of thing.

Oh, wow!! There’s such a variety of awesome in this book.

-Fun moments (I just love how the brothers tease, how little Alfie stakes his claim on women, and when the whole gang is together!),

-Sad, heartbreaking moments (Too many to count whenever you watch Ryan go through all his troubles and reveal parts of his awful past),

-Scary moments (There’s a stalker, so...that’s a given),

-Hold-your-breath-for-the-next-word moments (the kidnapping scene...just, yeah, wow, intense!),

-I-can’t-believe-that-just-happened moments (Hercules!),

-Sweet, hope-filled moments (Both Aloura and Ryan being there for each other when they need someone the most),

-Suspicious moments (Had me doubting one of my favorite characters for a heartbeat!),

-Sexy, hot moments (Oh, yeah, those too!),

-Sigh-worthy moments (I mean, seriously, hand me a tissue, because her songs...nothing helps him like her piano-playing. Really, just...I’m all melted Olaf over here!),

-And the best for last, there’s moments filled with my favorite book boyfriend: Johan!! YAY!

The characters are stellar, well-rounded with lots of depth and likeability (and a few scenes that make you want to smack some sense into them, but it’d be boring if they were perfectly perfect throughout, so I love those scenes too!). The storyline keeps you reading, and dialogue is witty (a total must for me) and perfectly delivered.

Seriously, this story has a bit of everything, told from two points of view that lead you into the lives of two souls that need each other desperately. So if you like a range of emotions and a lot of romance in your reading pleasure, this may be a good fit!

It definitely fit into my favorites list!

A deeply emotional and heartbreaking story!! Silent Scars by Ada Frost was a beautiful gut wrenching story that took readers on a wave of emotions as a hero battles an internal war of guilt, loss, anger, and brokenness. The physical scars may be on the outside but his internal emotional scars of darkness are the ones that runs and cuts deep. It is those scars that shatters him leaving him to believe that there is nothing left of his heart and soul to be salvaged. So as you can see the hero, Ryan is a complex man whose emotions are a raging battle due to his childhood and past. He is a man who has experienced loss, heartache, anger, and hate. So can this man find the light and closure he needs to heal those scars? Does love really heal? Or is it an illusion?

#silentscars

Silent Scars was indeed a book on survival because Ms. Frost showcases a heartbreaking tale of a young man struggling to live with his past, present and future. Ryan's silence is deafening. His hurt, pain, and brokenness is a silence that will echo and travel far for readers as it consumes and grips your hearts. Ryan is a man who believes that he doesn't deserve love and as a reader my heart aches for him. His silence was the loudest cry. But that all changes when he meets Aloura. She is a woman who can see past all his demons, and see Ryan for who he is. I'm not saying that this journey of love was an easy task for Aloura because Ryan makes it a difficult, but through it all, Aloura was able to break down and shatter these walls. She was able to show Ryan her silent love for him was enough and that he indeed deserves to be loved. I think what drew me into this book was that Ms. Frost was able to show all facets of hurt, sadness, loneliness, and devastation. She pointed out to her readers to see beyond the physical outside appearance of a person but to really see a man battling an internal turmoil. And at the same time allow readers to go along Ryan and Aloura's journal of survival and finding light. So if you are looking for an emotional, heartbreaking angsty read then I would recommend Silent Scars by Ada Frost.

5 Star Review by Jen Skewes

Wow!!! What an amazing, beautiful, emotional and gut wrenching story. I loved this book so much. Since reading Surviving Love I have been waiting for Ryan’s story. I knew what he had gone through as a kid and I knew this one was going to be one hell of a roller coaster ride filled with so many emotions. I also knew that at times it may be gut wrenching and hard to read, but every emotion and every tear was completely worth it. Ada Frost did not disappoint AT ALL!!!!

As I mentioned earlier this is Ryan’s story. I am honestly not even sure where to start with this review. This is one of those stories where you need to just dive in and experience it all on your own, without knowing too much about the characters or their background story. You need to be able to feel it all with these characters, the pain, the hurt, but also the happiness. Ryan is a very broken man because of his past. He had a horrific childhood but in a way his childhood is what lead him to become the man that he is today. It also had a lot to do with what happened to him over the years. The things he has done all stem from his childhood and his past. He doesn’t think he deserves to be loved. He has too much baggage, too many demons to fight and feels that no one should have to deal with them. But meeting Aloura could possible change that.

Aloura has a unique family situation, which I must say I loved. It just made her who she is and she was perfect. She grew up in a very unconventional family but also one that is very rich. Her father is very protective of her so when he thinks someone is out to get him and his family he hires a bodyguard to protect her. And yes her bodyguard is none other than Ryan Dermont.

When these two first met I knew that they were just meant to be. That first moment together was just perfection. And I am not talking “love at first site, he is so hot I need him now” type of meeting. No this was completely different and while I will not say why you know from that moment that if anyone can handle Ryan and his demons it is her. And my God did she. Aloura was nothing of what Ryan expected her to be. She was so much more. Aloura saw past the demons and the anger that seemed to be Ryan. She saw so much more to him than what he himself saw. I loved her strength, her perseverance and how much she cared. But will it all be enough for Ryan to see that he truly deserves the same happiness that his brothers have found? Will he finally realize that he too deserves to be loved and that with the right person by his side he can get through the pain of his past and move on?

Oh Ryan! How I loved and hurt for this young man. What he went through both as a child and an adult will just break your heart. I wanted him to find happiness. I wanted him to realize how worth it he really is. He has always been there for everyone else, considered to be their hero. But he has never let anyone be there for him, to love him, to care for him and to protect him. I wanted him to let his guard down and open up to Aloura. I wanted him to let her see what it was like inside his head and his world, because in a way I think he needed to let it all out more than she needed to hear it. And my god those few chapters when he finally opened up to her about everything completely ripped me apart. It was so emotional and raw and exactly what I needed in that moment from Ryan. Some people love angst and drama, well for me personally I love the emotional turmoil that characters go through. I love feeling that hurt and pain with them because in the end when they find their happiness it makes it all worth it. And this one was worth every emotion that I went through.

Aloura was such a stong woman who never gave up. But the truth is even the strongest people have their breaking point. And when that moment came Oh My God was it intense. My heart felt like it was beating out of my chest at that moment. It was so unexpected but fit so perfectly into this story. Well done Ms. Frost!

I absolutely love and adore Ada Frost. I will read anything this woman writes. She always knows how to pull out the emotions. She deals with some very delicate topics in her books but she knows how to handle them with care. She exceeded any expectation that I had with Ryan’s book. She gave me so much more than I could have ever imagined. This story was at times raw, intense and emotional but it was also witty, and beautiful at the same time. There is also a bit of suspense as well. Throughout the story you are waiting and wondering just who is causing all the issues and when that moment comes it was not what I expected at all. I thought I had it all figured out but boy was I wrong.

Ada Frost, once again you completely blew me away with your words. Ryan and Aloura's story was just perfection. I loved every minute of it. I have been waiting for this one and it was well worth the wait. Ryan is one of those characters that will just stay with you. Another amazing job!!

Note: This ARC was provided by Tasty Book Tours in exchange for an honest review.

I'm new to the Surviving series and to author Ada Frost, but after having finished Silent Scars, the fourth and latest book in said series, not only has my curiosity about the first three books been piqued, I've become an instant fan of the author's. Yes, this book was an advanced reader's copy, so there were certainly issues that needed to go through a round or two of editing, but setting that aside--because it isn't really fair to judge a book on editing issues if it's been given to you as an ARC and you've been forewarned--this was an intensely heartrending and gut-wrenching story. Ryan Dermont lives his life in the darkness of a past that he seems incapable of letting go completely, convinced that he is undeserving of love and trust from his brothers and from the woman who shines brighter than he thought possible--Aloura Cavendish.

Different forms of abuse are part of Ryan's past and it's a past that's intertwined with those of his five other brothers and his nephew. While the abuse isn't explicitly described in the story, the way Ryan describes his years growing up with his parents makes it easy to understand why he's as traumatized as he is. He may be thirty-six years old, but the post-traumatic stress disorder he suffers from isn't limited to his war experiences as a Marine. The burden he carries--tortuous memories and self-inflected guilt--torments him, but while he doesn't think himself worthy of the love of his brothers, they're there for him, simply waiting for him to finally open himself up to them and what they have to offer. It's working with Aloura as his client that allows him to slowly take the initial steps of exorcising his past, although it is no simple feat.

Aside from Ryan dealing with his past and he and Aloura trying to figure out if they should or shouldn't make a go of their feelings for one another, figuring out who was going after both Aloura and her father was quite interesting. I had one suspect in mind, but then there was a certain point in the story where I scratched him off my list and decided to focus on someone else. Thankfully, I was proven right, but the reasons behind the plot had me dumbfounded and caught me totally by surprise. Of course, I love it when that happens because then the author has been able to get one over on me. This book also made me tear up a couple of times--proof that I was quite emotionally invested in Ryan, and to a certain degree, Aloura. The first three books in the Surviving series are on my to-be-read list and I'm giving Silent Scars 4.5 stars. ♥

Silent Scars is book four in Ada Frost's Surviving series. It can be read as a standalone. I've personally only read the previous book, Double Betrayal and absolutely recommend it. Ada Frost's writing is timeless and thoughtful and her words will stick with you for a while.

Ryan Dermont is our beautifully broken Marine that had moved to the UK to be closer to his family. He suffers from severe PTSD due to his horrific childhood and many tours overseas fighting with the United States Military. Ryan is convinced that he doesn't deserve love and that he will never find it.

Aloura Cavendish is a brilliantly quirky heiress that needs a bodyguard due to threats to her personal life. She enjoys her alone time and with Ryan close as her watchmen, she learns that she can help him find the love he deserves.

"I want your soul to greet mine. Show me all of you. Give me your pain and I will give you my joy."

I've been anticipating Silent Scars for nearly a year. After reading Double Betrayal and getting only a taste of Ryan's beautifully sad personality, I knew I would love him as our next hero. He and Aloura grew to let go of their inner demons and it took a lot of tears and love but they prevail beautifully.

"How is it possible to know someone for only a few hours and feel so connected to them."

As a resident of the UK, Ada gave Ryan an American voice and used certain terms and slang perfectly and I appreciated that a lot. It's got to be hard to think with that type of voice when it's foreign to your own. It was at times hard to read some of the abusive stories if his past, but Ada wrote them with taste and not too much detail that it would be off-putting.

I'm absolutely convinced that Ada Frost needs more exposure as an author. Her words are brilliantly beautiful and mean so much to me. I cannot recommend this book and her writing any more than I already have.

I struggled with this one. As much as I loved the previous books in the series and was desperate for Ryan's story I was a little underwhelmed. I picked this up and put it down so many times I almost gave up. Ryan's constant hot and cold, push and pull, I'm not worthy stints got a bit old after a while and started to irritate me. Aloura saved the story for me, she was quietly strong and didn't let Ryan get away with much even though he was a total tool to her at times. I get why he acted like he did, but not for 90% of the book.

description

Every once in a while, I read a book that snuggles itself into my heart and has the ability to move my soul. This is the book that did it. To be honest, I was not seeking this ARC out because I've never heard of this author. I was not disappointed in the least, it delivered an highly touching journey that I will not soon forget. This is my 5 wonderful, heartfelt stars for Silent Scars by Ada Frost. ARC given in exchange for an honest and spoiler free preview.

This story is about Ryan, a deeply wounded soul who suffers from PTSD. First from a troubled childhood that left him emotionally unattainable and detached. He suffered the worst form of abuse in the hands of the people who were suppose to protect him. Second, from war, where he lost some of his comrades and was also physically wounded. He's been a walking shadow and half a man all his life. He's a protector, survivor and alpha male all the way. He needs saving. Can he be saved?
He is hired as a bodyguard for a rich mans daughter who as been threatened and violated.

" I'm going to be your heroine, I'm going to chase away these monsters. Even if you don't want me the way I want you. I'm going to at least be your friend"

Aloura is a shy, quiet and solitary woman. She spends most of her time in books, playing the piano or dancing. Do you think she wants a babysitter? She resists it at first but she can't help but fall fast and hard for the hero who's emotionally aloof. She soon realizes that Ryan needs her compassion, understanding and love. She will help him heal his old inner wounds, quiet the voices and noises inside his head. Ryan will do anything in his power to protect her from physical harm and Aloura will do anything in her power to protect him from emotional harm. They complete each other and make quite the team. Now they need to figure out who's been brutalizing her. Will they save each other in time?

" If I could enter your mind and claw out those memories, I would. If I could give you a memory of a first love to rival a Jane Eyre novel, I would"

The words, the emotions and the characters grabbed my undivided attention from the first page read to the very last one. I was not prepared for the emotional roller coaster ride this book took me on. There were parts of this story that got me so distraught for Ryan that I wanted to get into my kindle and just hug him. Warning! Highly addictive story. It's so beautifully worded and phrased. The words jumped out of the page to grab my heart and soul. I really loved the epilogue that brought closure for this couple. A great variety of characters were created and each one of them were unique.

This is an author I will definitely seek out in the near future. This is book number 4 in the Surviving series. I didn't feel lost or confused when the previous characters were brought back in this book. It's a standalone, told in a dual POV with an HEA. It's a romantic suspense with a twist that I didn't see coming. But it's so much more than a romance novel. It's about taking something ugly and turning it something so very beautiful. Although there are no graphic descriptions of some of the events but it can still be disturbing for some readers. There is talk about abuse. May not be suitable for readers 18 years old and younger. I highly recommend this book. It's well worth the readers time and money.

I really enjoyed this story and I was hooked throughout it.

This was my first Ada Frost books and it certainly won't be the last.

This story is about Ryan and Aloura. Ryan has been assigned as Aloura's bodyguard after her father has received death threats towards his daughter. Ryan clearly has had a traumatic childhood and past and when he arrives he just sees Aloura as daddy's little princess, well that is until he realizes that Aloura is not afraid to fight back. They do strike up a friendship whilst Ryan try's to keep Aloura safe but at the same time he often tries to push her away. Aloura not only see's a broken man but beautiful who needs to let go on some of his demons and let someone in. Ryan believes he is not worth Aloura love however Aloura lets Ryan open up in his own time but also whilst knocking down his defenses. Can he let go on his demons and let Aloura in whilst keeping her safe?

All whilst this is going on someone out that is still after Aloura, the author does a really good job of places little clues that keep you guessing who it could me. This books has a little bit of everything, there were some fun bits that made me laugh out loud, some heartbreaking moments, some omg moments, hot sexy moments and lots of suspense. I loved both Ryan and Aloura characters and the secondary characters were great. I really want to read their stories as although we got a little snippet of them in this book I still want more.

The story is told from duel POV and at times reading Ryan's it was heart breaking. Ryan has some many scars and I loved to see his character grow throughout the book. I would highly recommend this book not only fans of romance read but also those who like a little suspense and drama. Once I started this one I didn't want to put it down. I loved it.

I hate, hate, hate that I'm saying this, but I didn't like this book. It was just okay for me.

I felt the connection between Ryan and Aloura was too instant and their interaction too sweet, bordering even on sappy sometimes.

However, I did love reading about Will, Jo, Lou, and Emily and am still a fan of Ada Frost.

Readers drawn to stories full of gripping emotions that put them on a roller coaster ride of pain and healing alongside unforgettable characters will find this book the perfect read. Ms. Frost's name might not be well known but with a book like this it won't be long before she gets recognized for this deeply emotional and gripping tale of abuse, PTSD, and unquestionable acceptance showing the healing power of love. Add in a bit of suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat as Ms. Frost keeps you guessing with her cleverly concealed villain and you'll be captivated from from the first page to the last.

On the outside Ryan seems invincible, every inch the war hero he tries to be. Behind that facade though is a man in a lot of pain from a childhood of vile abuse from those who should've kept him safe and a war time injury that took him to the brink of death. A lifetime of pain has left him a shell of a man, a man he sees as toxic and not worthy of happiness. Episodes of PTSD and living memories of his abuse make him feel out of control and a danger that others need to stay away from. Wanting to help the few people who have stayed by his side leads him to playing bodyguard to rich girl Aloura which changes his life irrevocably. Though he tries to push her away she's committed to him, both his dark side as well as his caring side. Ryan's pain was palpable, each hurt he expressed radiated off the page and had me wanting to heal him too. All he ever wanted was to protect people and fate continually spit in his face. All his pain may have tainted him but there's still a kindhearted and sweet side to him just waiting to get out and Aloura fuels that. Ryan's a larger than life character who you're immediately drawn to, and despite his scars, he's beautiful in his own damaged way as he longs to find his own HEA but scared to go after it after a lifetime of rejection. Finding someone who can see into his soul and love him unconditionally is what ultimately saves him from his past and helps him make a future.

Aloura's not your typical rich girl as she's a bit of a loner, devoted to her music and dance, quite content to be on her own. Her self-esteem is a bit low too after a childhood of bullying due to her unconventional home life. The moment she and Ryan meet there's a crackling connection as she's drawn to his strength but also senses his sadness. She's a kindred spirit to him as their mutual loneliness binds them and her unwavering support has him finally addressing his painful past. Aloura may seem meek but she has a very strong will as Ryan's harsh words when pushing her away were hurtful but never drove her from his side. She's loyal too to those she calls family which was another element connecting her to Ryan. She seems a bit naive in matters of sex but being around Ryan brings out her inner vixen in surprisingly steamy encounters. From start to finish Aloura's the kind of heroine you admire and root for and I liked her immensely.

This was a hard book to read at times as Ryan's past was revealed but uplifting as he finally finds a love truly worthy of him. Aloura was an admirable heroine made more enjoyable for her unconventionality. Alongside these two compelling main characters comes a cast of secondary characters just as engaging and with painful issues themselves slowly unveiled throughout the story. Throw in the suspense of a stalker, whose identity is well-concealed, and you end up with a story I was sad to see end. The romance too is sweet yet sensual and the journey to HEA richly rewarding. Though this is the fourth book in the Surviving series it's not too late to experience this unforgettable and emotional read as it stands strong all on its own!

5 Stars!

"My gut twisted with the knowledge I would never have that quiet peace, those tender moments of knowing you were completely owned, body and soul, by someone else."
~ Ryan

I was so eager to start Silent Scars, that I blew through it too fast and now I'm sad that I'm going to have to wait another decade for the next one! LOL. Okay...maybe not quite a decade, but that's what it feels like when I'm waiting to read the next book from Ada Frost. I look forward to her new releases, and I probably become a crazy stalker while I wait. Yes...her books are that good!

I was so excited to get Ryan's story. Ryan was everything that I thought he would be. I knew he would be a dark, intense alpha with lots of love inside him. I also knew he would surround himself with brick walls. Ryan didn't let anyone get close. Even his brothers had a hard time getting close to him. His life was hard while growing up. He was abused and used constantly. As a result, he believed he didn't deserve to be happy. He believed that he had nothing to give and could never see himself loving anyone or receiving anyone's love in return. Then he meets Aloura, and she is everything that Ryan never knew he needed. Aloura was pretty tough and never gave up on Ryan. She fought for him when no one else would and had no problem telling him what she wanted. She made him believe that he was worth it.

“I don’t want to be someone’s possession Ryan. Belongings can be expendable, thrown away when they are old and dirty. I want to be a part of you. I want to wake up each morning with a feeling of completeness because I know you’re near. I want your soul to greet mine. Show me all of you. Give me your pain and I will give you my joy.”

“A man willing to break my heart doesn’t deserve my tears. But a man strong enough to protect it, is worth everything. You Ryan, are worth everything. You just need to believe it.”

I really liked Ryan and Aloura together. Their relationship at times was difficult, but I'm glad that Ryan is getting his HEA. I'm so happy that everyone from The Surviving Series got their HEA. This series is seriously one of the BEST series that I have EVER read. EVERY story got 5 stars from me. Honestly, I would have rated them more than 5 stars if I could! Every single book gutted me, although my favorite one was book 2, Surviving Love. I LOVED Johan! His story probably made me cry the most. However, when I found out this was the conclusion to the series, I wanted to ugly cry all over again. I know I will be rereading this series again. Ada Frost, I just want to thank you for all these AMAZING stories. I cannot wait to see what you have in store from here on out!!

6 stars!

This was a stunning novel about a Marine who has a tortured past but is also a hero to his family and friends. This book is a journey for him to find himself, learn to live and to accept himself for who he is.

Ryan had his work cut out for him. He was a stubborn man and sometimes I wanted to slap him but with everything that's happened to him with his past, I understand to an extent as to why he did things, the way he did. Because no one should go through what he went through. But I adored his character anyway because he has the biggest hearts and LOVES his family with everything he's got. That's a quality that I loved about him.

Than there's Alora, the women he's paid to protect and I loved her. She was sassy and didn't stop from saying what's on her mind. She wasn't annoying (YAY!!) and her character was hilarious. She works at a library and has loving parents.

"You do realise I am paid to keep you safe right? Not be a pussy crying on your shoulder?”
“Listen, when I need a hero, I’ll call Captain America. I have him on speed dial.”
“You have an unhealthy obsession with that guy. And why choose the guy in blue spandex and not the smart nerd in an armored suit?”
“Firstly, Tony Stark is not a nerd. Secondly Cap’merica is gawgus. What woman wouldn’t want a man with a shield and blue spandex?”
“I’m at a loss for words, Aloura. You are so freaking weird.”

The two had one of the best relationships that I've read about. Sure, there was arguing but it wouldn't be fun or a relationship without that. They had chemistry, were friends, and are hilarious together. She makes him smile. I mean it's utterly perfect.

"Are you my salvation, tiny dancer? Will you fix me?”

The writing in this story is one of the best I've read because it was able to pull every emotion from me. I can count on 1 hand at how many books have made me cry and this is easily one of them. There was a lot of crying here during the last half of the book.

“In a world of chaos and pain, you are my silence.”

Just as much as there was crying, there were some LOL funny moments and swoon-worthy as well. Because holy hell the characters stole my heart!! Especially the little kids!

AND OMG there was suspense. Heart pounding. You really had no idea what was going to happen and I literally started guessing some ugly stuff in my head because I had no idea how this was going to end.

And then there is the epilogue. It was one of the best I've ever read. IT WAS SO SWEET AND IT MELTED MY HEART. JESUS. Now, I'm definitely going back to read more of Ada's books!!

This book is still giving me the feels. You can't help but feel something for Ryan. He's been thought dead twice now and after his horrible childhood he's got many scars inside and out. Ryan has been a hero since he was a child but he doesn't believe he's one. He's does anything possible to make sure his loved ones are protected even at the cost to himself. He may be a hero but he's dead inside and is subjected to horriable nightmares. He's tasked to protect misfit Aloura from a overzealous hater of her father. He's feels as if she's a princess but that's the farthest thing from the truth. Eventually he realizes that maybe it's time someone saves him. Aloura quiets the voices and stems the nightmares. Ada Frost does a great job of taking you on Ryan's journey from his horriable childhood, to his tours fighting as a marine, and his inability to assimilate into main steam society. Aloura has never had someone outside of family that she could trust or count on. Ryan becomes that for her and she becomes his savior. There are many twists and turns due to the crazy person whose after Aloura and Ryan will be challenged to protect a innocent woman. Ada Fost thank you for writing this beautiful story of Ryan's and I hope many readers will take a chance on him because he's a beautiful character.

Great job, Ada Frost! Another great book from you! I was really excited about Ryan's book and I must say, there were times when it was really difficult to me to continue reading - his life wasn't an easy one, but with his angel by his side, he found his salvation. I'm hoping that soon we'll be reading more books from you - you really have talent!

P.S. The four stars are because the first two books from the series are still my most favorite :)

DNF at 30%

I will keep this short and simple. The plot initially hooked me but the story did not feel particularly unique or believable to me. I was craving characters with a lot of substance and originality. But both MC’s felt like versions of so many that I have read before — sassy heroine, cocky hero. My biggest problem was with the hero. With the type of traumatic upbringing that Ryan endured, I didn’t think it was realistic that he would be so cocky like every other alpha. Even with him being so hot and cold, the way he was written made him seem so confident. I didn’t find it realistic that the hero who went through such SEVERE abuse would laugh hysterically when the heroine joked about her father lusting after him. Or that the “celibate” hero would come down with a case of insta-love, which is how it read to me. Even when he spoke about his time in the military, I couldn’t feel the turmoil or pain. It all felt a little too lighthearted for the subject matter and fell flat for me. I wish I could have read a more realistic Abdul emotional portrayal of the hero working through his issues. Because of this, I really couldn’t connect with the story.

a wonderful read, a hearty gripping story, wonderful and unforgetable characters Ryan and Aloura, her parents and his brothers.
A story of survival and of trust. of letting the other(s) enter your space and believe in them and let them love you.
A wonderful story of abuse, sexual abuse of a child by his father, and of its effects on the self esteem, pride and image of the young man he became.
it's story of unconventional family and the love for their daughter Aloura, of her fight to make her gardian, her friend believe in what she sees when she looks at him : a strong man, a savior and hero and not the monster he thinks he is , worthy of love of his brothers, of his family of her.
I read the summary and I was hooked , I xcouldn't put it down. One of my favs. I'll read the others books and read it again soon.

Holy Hot Alpha bodyguard, Ada Frost where the hell have you been all my reading life? Huh? first things first, I've started this series kind of backwards. Silent Scars is the 4th book in this series. But I caught the sypnosis for this book and well, I just couldn't bloody help myself. One word Bodyguard!!, Yip I'm a sucker for a hot alpha bodyguard, but let's be honest it's gonna take more than just a great sypnosis and a great cover for me to give a book a five star review.

Let's start with the authors beautiful writing. I'm the kind of reader than can normally tell if their gonna like a book within the first few pages. And Silent Scars had me hooked as soon as I finished the first paragraph. Oh Ada, you broke my heart in those first few pages I just wanted to reach into those pages, hug young Ryan and never let him go. Ada Frost took me on a journey, from feeling anger and rage to laughing my arss off to gushing like a 15 year old girl.

“Because when you look at me, Aloura, I don’t feel so broken. I feel like a man. I feel free, and I’m slowly becoming addicted to you.”

This is the story of Ryan and Aloura. Aloura's father owns a medical research company and now as he starts trials on a new drug the threats that are normally aimed at himself and his company are now targeting Aloura. A virtual high five Ada for creating such a brilliant female character. Hands down Aloura has to be one of the best characters I've read in a long time. She's quirky, adorable and just won't take any of Ryan's shit. I just loved this girl. Even though Ryan is deeply attracted to her, he does everything in his power to hold back, you see thanks to a traumatic childhood he doesn't think he deserves her, Ryan may come across strong and powerful on the outside but underneath he's broken and scared. Thankfully Aloura is the perfect girl to break down those walls.

This book was so much more than your typical Romance book. With great writing, fantastic characters, even the secondary characters were brilliant. A great story line. And most importantly this book was hot!! Like off the charts hot I honestly can't recommend this book highly enough. I loved the authors writing so much that I have now one-clicked the full series ( book 1 is currently free ) and this time I might actually read the series in order. So thank you Ada Frost for bringing Ryan & Aloura into my life. Silent Scars was an absolute pleasure to read and I have no doubt I will re-read this book many, many times.

4.5 awesome couldn't put it down stars

I received an ARC from the author in exchange of an honest review. And I p, honest to God, loved this.

I've never before had the pleasure of reading nothing by Ada Frost. My favorite author (aka Linda) told me Ada might need a beta and I beta read this. And OMG. Now. I. Need. To. Read all of her books.
I loved Ada's writing and this story and Ryan. Wow. I told her I claimed him as mine. And I'm doing that.
I felt like this woman played me. Used my emotions and made her hers. I just couldn't stop my laugh or my tears or the need to throw my iPad or cellphone somewhere near the river or something. This book owned my heart during more that 300 pages.

Ryan is a dark character and Aloura is totally light.
I really don't know what to say. I loved every moment of this book, since the first read. I think Ryan’s dark soul stole my heart, because I just felt Like I needed to help him.
Aloura’s character was just awesome, too. She was all cool and relaxed, buts he was a fighter, too. I liked her relationship with Herc, because, I have a dog, and I just could feel it.
I liked how Ryan reacted to Hercules, it was really funny and sweet at the same time. I liked how Ryan’s character was developed by the author and I loved that it was hard for the. To be together. I loved… Everything. I just can't say a bad thing about this book. I feel like I could read it ten more times and like it more every time.
I read this book after a really good one, this book even was released with said book and I think that they are just linked, I can't think of one without the other. This book has won my heart and I feel like I need more about Ryan and Aloura’s story. I love the, together. I like that Aloura never backed down with Ryan and once he discovered what she made to him, didn't give up on her.
I think this is a must read for all people who likes dark characters and awesome girls who read books. I really felt a little identified to Aloura. And is hard for me to like a girl in a book, but Aloura just won me.

“I’m awkward as hell. I would rather read a book than attend a party. I love my dog more than any boyfriend I’ve ever had (…) I like my alone time. I like the quiet. But I think I’ve secluded myself so much that I have no idea how to behave in social situations. I worry about sounding stupid and boring.”

I'm Aloura. I loved this and I highly recommend it. Just in case that wasn't clear.
