Another awesome Ms. Marvel book!

I had a moment where I didn't like Bruno's new girlfriend because I was always rooting for him and Kamala, who is Ms. Marvel. But she just didn't have time for something serious. I mean, she's an Avenger now and has to do that stuff and try to make it through school. Life. But, then Bruno's girlfriend started to grow on me so I love her now 😊

There was one other part that got in my nerves. Why didn't Ms. Marvel just tear that stupid sign down!! Just sayin'

And of course there are new baddies in town to fight!!! Hurrah 😁

I've always wanted to read ms marvel after hearing such great things and it did nOT disappoint at all!

One of the best things about this has to be how realistic it was! I mean the representation of everyone in this comic was on point! I've never read anything in my life that actually represented so many races, religions, sexual orientations etc and it was brilliant! If only everything out there could be the same...

I adored the art work, it was so quirky and colourful and all just worked so well!

Another favourite thing was the fact that whilst being a member of the avengers she still stressed out about real problems like homework and that for me was just glorious!

Ugghh I just loved this so so much, I will definitely be reading everything ms marvel asap!!!!!

Kamala is officially an Avenger.



While Kamala's dream of being an Avenger has come true the rest of her life is getting less attention than it deserves. It feels like classic Peter Parker in that while Kamala is off doing great things she's sacrificing her own life in the process. The biggest problem Kamala faces is that Bruno has a girlfriend now and she's hurt by it.

I have to say I feel about 15 years too old and the wrong sex to truly enjoy Ms. Marvel #1. I appreciate what she's going through and I can remember the feeling of teenage drama, but I don't really want to read about it.

Love this series and will continue to love it because KK is just brilliant. GWW did an awesome job and I applaud her for writing such a unique character in the Marvel universe, who is who she is - an American Muslim, a teenager, and a millennial with superstretchy embiggening powers. Now that she's an Avenger, I suppose a lot has changed in her life with Bruno getting a new gal and Zoe suddenly being her and Nakia's BFF. Great start to the 2016 issue but I also felt some things being coerced. Mike being plus sized, OK. Mike having two moms, OK. Her teacher being wheelchair bound.. OK. But I felt all this in one issue felt too politically correct. As much as I love diversity, subtlety can always be good too.

Though called Ms. Marvel #1, Kamala's story picks up 8 months where it left off (picking up with her as a member of the All New, All Different Avengers/ after Secret Wars). Fans such as myself who didn't really keep up with Secret Wars shouldn't worry about feeling lost with the new #1 as we are given plenty of context to dive in to the story.

This issue primarily focuses on how Kamala's busy schedule as a superhero is taking a toll on her personal life. Her neighborhood is being redeveloped but what looks to be a new villain. I would have liked to see a bit more of this new plot explored, but this issue limits this aspect of the story to an introduction for now.

The issue deals with the romantic tension between Bruno and Kamala. It's a bit more romance-centric than I prefer, but this entire series is so well written that it was a highly enjoyable read all the same.

The new art style takes some getting used to, but it is, in my opinion, a definite improvement over the style of some past issues.

Kamala didn’t have her own issue in a while because of Secret Wars and now she’s back, and conveniently, hardly remembers the last few months so we can remember with her. Kamala has a hard time balancing being an Avenger and being a high school student and things start to slip between her fingers. Like not noticing her best friend has a girlfriend (extra points for Marvel for making the girlfriend not skinny and named Mike). There was a bit too much emphasis about his new relationship, (but Marvel gets more extra points for laughing about the 5 different endings of Return of The King). It seems that the general plot is inspired by Daredevil season 1 or even Arrow season 1, as an evil corporation was to rebuild all of New Jersey and isn’t planning on doing it the regular or legal way.

I've been curious about this character for a few months and finally I decided to give it a try.
Due to not having a lot of time to read (I hate college) I choose this comic because it was the first part of the serie and it seemed fun. I wasn't dissapointed, but I did was surprised. There is so much diversity in this and that makes me so happy, it was about damn time!! (yeah, I'm making a reference to Nick Fury in The Winter Soldier movie, sue me).
So, I'm going to continue with this serie because the plot is interesting and the characters are too easy to love. And when the exam-period is over I'll read the previous volumes.

This story is about a teenage girl, so expect plenty of teen angst. With that being said, it also embraces the responsibilities people put onto themselves. She reacts in very natural ways, at least for a teenage girl with superpowers.

-I actually quite like the little moments we saw of Bruno's girlfriend and I'm a bit disappointed she's going to probably end up disposable, but what can you do? Teenage relationships and all that

This was a great introduction and I’m so excited to keep reading. I love how much Bruno we got in this issue. I love him and his new girlfriend is also growing on me. I didn’t really like Kamala reaction to that relationship though. Like girl, you told him to move on because you didn’t feel ready for a relationship. Don’t get mad at him when he does move on. Anyway, we also got a very interesting set-up for the “big bad” in this and I’m excited to explore more of that.

Five Reasons I'm Now Completely Excited About Ms. Marvel

1. Kamala aka Ms. Marvel is a smart, hardworking teenager girl just trying to balance school, family, friends, and being a freaking Avenger. I loved the line of dialogue when she says, "This is my favorite part", and Iron Man goes, "No, the gyro and fries after is your favorite part." Also, apparently he helps her with her physics homework!

2. The artwork was extraordinary. I loved seeing a different type of comic book world (small city neighborhood, wonderfully drawn diverse characters, etc.). The beauty was in the details (like the inside of the grocer's car).

3. Bruno and Kamala! I love him being jealous about her talking about hanging out with Peter Parker and his gorgeous abs. It just felt very real for teenagers, and I can't wait to see where that goes. I also don't like Mike. I'm not even sorry.

4. Kamala's sass sort of makes my life. She was a little mean at times, but we're all mean a little at times in high school. Plus, girl got a lot on her plate. Nobody likes advertisers using their picture without permission (and they're evil developers, like actually evil, at that).

5. I didn't realize until after I'd finished the first one and looked for it on Goodreads that I'd bought the first one in the new series. Now I have something to look forward to in the first Ms. Marvel series, and hopefully I'll be less confused that way.

What was is new again! The end of the world happened and was averted, Kamala has joined the new Avengers team and eight months have passed.

A lot has changed and Kamala has grown up. Not just her but those around her as well. There comes a time for many people when they look up and realize just how much everything around them has changed. Whether for better or for worse is debatable.

Bruno has moved on and despite her words of wisdom earlier, Kamala now finds herself jealous and upset over it. All of her time spent taking care of bad guys is once again affecting her personal life and friends. You can't stay close to people you never see after all.

This is a great new start for the series and another fantastic issue!
