I’m always been skeptical when a new author steps in to continue an existing series but I feel like Kyle Mills is a natural to carry on the Mitch Rapp series. The story hardly missed a beat picking up where the last book ended much like earlier books in the series. Great job, so glad Mitch has new life.
The underpinnings of Pakistan and American federal politics sure fits my understanding of those parts of our world. There did not seem to be big leaps of credulity or fairy dust in activities or situations except that Mitch Rapp has super stamina, I suppose. The action was constant and not heart of gold for actions of bad guys. Nothing softened to make the reader feel comfortable. It was a quick read. I'm not a fan of jumping from story line to story line every chapter, but I survived that. Timing of events was often crucial, and that felt a little contrived. Yet, the story kept me interested to see what would happen next and how things can be fixed. Enjoyable.
Too convoluted and silly with intrigue for the sake of intrigue rather than advancing any serious story. Focus on Mitch Rapp and his ass-kicking ways and I’ll be a far more satisfied reader. It’s a shame to waste such a great character on political maneuverings and backstory.
Another great read by this author. At first I had trouble keeping foreign names straight, and lots of references to earlier books I haven’t read. Still an entertaining way so spend a day with no electricity.😉
Dnf. Turns out the book we grabbed at Costco with Vince Flynn written on the cover was actually written by Kyle mills. A knockoff! And it read like one too. Yikes.
