It has taken vast teams of personnel the better part of a year to complete Dorothy’s mansion in Howth. She should be celebrating the fact that it is finished, yet is secretly dreading the day she has to leave her cosy apartment and take up residence in the new house.
She knows that she was out and out crazy to have gone ahead and commissioned such a monstrosity just because some random American guy appeared to her in a vision. Alright so it was more like four visions. And a dream. Okay so it was the same dream three nights in a row. Even so.
She doesn’t dare to express her anxieties for fear of ridicule. She is becoming increasingly aware that life’s myriad challenges don’t mysteriously evaporate just because you have money, although this wisdom is not generally perceived, and certainly not accepted by the population at large.
Dorothy wonders how she and her trustee housekeeper might cope in a modest sized family dwelling, without the benefit of a media centre, a glass staircase or life sensing toilets. She strongly suspects that they would do very well, although, sadly, the simple life is no longer an option.
As the Sick Puppy shifts the nasty game of cat and mouse up a gear, only the modern day fortress that is her new home stands between Dorothy and a grim fate. Perhaps the universe knows what it’s doing after all. Welcome to Book 3 - Help.

I was born in Ireland a long time ago, but only toyed with writing when I was young. Toyed might be too kind. I goofed about with a pen and paper when I was a teenager, but never wrote anything more than a silly poem. You have to fight for your dreams in this life, and I didn't fight for mine. The thought of doing so never even crossed my mind back then and there was no encouragement from my family.

These days I am battling the realisation that the reason I always felt like an alien is because I am autistic. The battle is not me versus ASD but rather me versus the knowledge that nobody was invested enough to have me tested when I was young enough to display many symptoms. Decades spent masking and pretending to be somebody who doesn't exist have destroyed the likelihood of a clinical diagnosis and left me suffering with my mental health.

Writing is a sort of therapy for me. My readers occasionally comment upon the darkness of my story lines. Well, folks, that's therapy for you, never a dull moment and frequently dark.

Take care out there.

Oh my gosh!

This is the third book in an extremely good series of 10 & I suggest you start reading Avarice, book 1, so you can find all the juicy morsels along the journey! I was hooked, when I read book 1 & have been chain reading them with little sleep. What's a woman to do, when she finds a series like this? READ!!!

Dorothy Lyle is an impressive character to say the least. The frugal woman who became Ireland's biggest euro lottery winner has finally arrived in her new home, after experiences that shook her. Events become more intense & protection has arrived. As has the "seal man"!

I don't want to spoil a series & I wont! Leave it that this is another
l-o-n-g novel with a well done cliffhanger. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great read with more than the usual storyline! Gotta get book 4!

Absorbing and satisfying

I am thoroughly enjoying this series of books. Strongly recommended for a lovely long satisfying read. If only more books were as entertaining and generous. I want to read them all.

Just like Book 1 and 2, the third book in the Dorothy Lyle series does not fail to deliver!

I really love Dorothy. She's just an average lady whose world is turned upside down in book one due to an amazing lottery win! She showers her friends and family in gifts and sets herself big challenges through property purchases. The story progresses in book two. She hires a few people to help her out in a few areas of her life (housekeeper, assistant) and continues her travelling and sporadic purchasing! In the second book, it comes to light that she has a stalker. One who is intent on scaring Dorothy, and even hurting her.

In this chapter of her life, things really progress with the stalker, which creates a suspense throughout the book. You are simply waiting for his next move and can't put the book down until you know what it is! She hires two bodyguards to protect her. The average, ordinary Dorothy Lyle has gone out of the window! She still has her dreams, and they make her character so much more intriguing and enjoyable!

This book is really fast paced and makes you want more with every page you read! I love that you can really get into Dorothy's head. I can't wait for book four!
