Ward of the Vampire #1 - 5

Ward of the Vampire: Complete Serial

Rate this book
~ This book gathers the 5 installments of the Ward of the Vampire serial. ~

It’s THE party of the season. Socialites, artists and A-list stars have been invited to Morgan Ward’s birthday bash, including Angelina’s boss, Delilah.

For months, Angelina has been looking at the preparations from afar, but never did she imagine that, come the day, Miss Delilah would put her in a gorgeous gown and bring her along as her ‘plus one.’

She also never imagined that Miss Delilah and her brother were vampires, able to compel her to remain in the mansion against her will long after the party ended, or to draw her into incredibly real, dizzyingly sexy fantasies.

And she certainly never imagined that, little by little, she’d fall in love with her reluctant, standoffish host, and manage to peel back his armor to uncover his past – and his heart.

Kallysten is a writer of romance novels and short stories, most of them with paranormal elements.

Her first eBooks were published by Linden Bay Romance in 2005. The defunct Venus Press subsequently published a few of her short stories. Because so many of her stories are linked as series and part of the same universe, she decided it would make sense to have them all in the same place, which is why she self-published, first with the co-op Alinar Publishing and now on her own. When she sees calls for submissions that speak to her muse, she sometimes tries for them, and was published this way by Samhain and Torquere.

My Thoughts - 4.5 out of 5 Unicorns - I like-loved it!!!
***I own 3 out of 5 parts and the other two were provided for an honest review.

Book 1 - Ward of the Vampire
I had the privilege to read Ward of the Vampire by Kallysten for an honest review. It is a short read only 44 pages, but I loved reading them. In this story Angelina works for Delilah as her personal assistant. There is a big party, and Delilah take Angelina with her. She meets Delilah’s brother Morgan who is the host and birthday boy. In only a few pages, you feel like you know that characters and that Angelina is talking to you about what has happened. I really hope there is more to come about Morgan and Angelina because I want to know what happens next. Kallysten tells a beautiful story and leaves you wanting more. :)

Book 2 - My Reluctant Warden
Ok I really liked this novella that is about 67 pages, but I wished it was longer and that I was able to figure out more about Morgan. Right now I’m not sure if Angelina is just dreaming or if Morgan is bipolar. I can’t stand that I have to wait to see what happens next, but I will :) I just may whine about it! :) Kallysten writing style is easy to read, and I like characters Angelina, Morgan, and Stephen. If you like paranormal romance with an unknown element, you will really like this story. It is keeping me guessing, not sure where it will go next.

Book 3 - Awkward Holidays
I really enjoy this series and love reading it. Kally’s writing style just makes it so easy to connect with Angelina. Morgan is confusing, but I think there is a story there that we will eventually learn about that will pull at our heartstrings and then I won’t want to slap him so much. Angelina’s parents pop in for a visit which makes things uncomfortable and challenging for Angelina and Morgan, you will definitely want to see how they rise to it. There is also a new person who I have decided is….I can’t describe what I’m feeling but pain should be involved. This was another emotional rollercoaster, and it was over much too quickly. I want the next book NOW, so I can see what happens next…Grrrr! If you love paranormal and Kally, you can’t miss out of reading this you will enjoy it!!! I need more Kally!!!

Book 4 - The Coward’s Way Out
This is the best of the series so far :) I loved everything except when it ended where I silently screamed NOOOOOOOOO!!! I’m a horribly impatient person and now I have to wait. It was the perfect place to end it, but Kally totally left us hanging. I have no idea what will happen next which is awesome but torture all at the same time.

Angelina is an awesome leading lady, and I love how Kally has her sort of narrating her own story. Kally’s writing is beautiful and gets you totally wrapped up in the story. Angelina is strong even when scared.

In this story, we learn epic amounts of information about Morgan and why he’s the way he is. We also learn quite a bit more about Stephen and how he came to work for Morgan. And Mother, well let’s just say I do not like her at all.

Book 5 - Homeward
When I started this series in February of 2013, it was before I knew what a serial series was. Kallysten was kind enough to share it with me, and I have bought most of the series, but for whatever reason, I never knew the conclusion was out. I stumbled onto it and bought it back in November. This is a complete serial series meaning you can buy the whole thing no waiting for the next part. This of course is for adults only because it does have quite a few steamy scenes.

I probably should have gone back and read the whole thing at once since it has been more than a year since I read book 4, but I didn’t :) Kally easily sucked me back into the lives of Angelina and Morgan. There is not action in this serial, but there is lots of drama and tension and threats of violence. She does a fabulous job making this story come alive where you can feel the characters pain, fear, and torment. This was the perfect ending to the serial though I had my doubts it was going to happen while reading.

I recommend this to fans of vampire romance who don’t mind when it comes in the form of a serial :)

INITIAL THOUGHTS
To be totally honest due to health & family issues too I had been in a bit of a reading slump, or rut whatever you would call it. So I thought I should go back to the genre that got me back into reading and blogging back in 2010 and that was vampires! As this is a collection of novella's I decided to just read the first novella and see how I went.

MY REVIEW
I downloaded this one from Netgalley for free in exchange for my honest opinion/review.
So from my initial thoughts above I think I have more or less explained I fancied a different pace/genre of book, and have to say this book did not disappoint on either point.
The cover of the complete serial is a bright red squishy looking heart which really stands out from the grey, aged weathered looking background of the cover. To me this really represents the series very well. The bright squishy heart being Angelina, and the grey, aged, cracked background representing Morgan and the life he is living before Delilah and Irene intervene by placing Angelina in his lair (mansion) and preventing her from leaving without their personal permission. they quite literally force Angelina's presence on Morgan.
So the two main character's in this book are Mr Morgan Ward, his sister Delilah and her personal assistant Angelina. To say Angelina is good at her job is an understatement she truly puts in the hours at work, often foregoing her own pleasure's to a side to put her boss, Miss Delilah's quirks and wants first! One of the strangest things Miss Delilah asked her to find were an obscure black orchid. . . it took research and a lot of time but Angelina did source and order the orchids for her employer. So when Angelina is summoned to the private quarters of Miss Delilah, to help her choose which dress to wear for her brother Mr Morgan Ward's enormous birthday party, she just automatically goes to see the outfits and accessories. Once in the room it becomes clear Miss Delilah has a whole different agenda as she almost orders Angelina to try on the outfits and then suddenly informs her that she is to attend the most talked about party ever!
Only Delilah and later we learn Irene (Delilah & Morgan's mother/maker) have rather ulterior motives in taking Angelina to the birthday party, she is to be a "gift" to Morgan as she is "his type". It's only once it's too late that Angelina realises she is a prisoner in Morgan wards home and that Morgan, Delilah and Irene are vampire's!
The book goes on describing the fledgling friendship they have and it's many up's and down's. It is soon clear they are both wanting more than just friendship. . . though Morgan is a very private man with many dark secrets in his past. Morgan has plenty of issue's to work through before he can even begin to have a relationship with any true meaning, rather than just sex. So now I have mentioned the word "sex" there are quite a few "sex scene's" and sexual references. Would I personally call it erotica? Honestly no, it's more steamy and a little racy I guess some would say. The main reason I wouldn't say it is erotica is that there is a definite plot line to this novella collection, there's a genuine bond built between the characters of Morgan, and Angelina.
My opinion on Delilah and Irene changed continually whilst reading this series. From being horrified by Delilah and Irene forcing Angelina to stay in Morgan's mansion. Thinking they are just using Angelina to almost torment Morgan. But then as you read on, your thoughts do change. I mean Irene, Morgan and Delilah have been around centuries surely they should know by now how to coexist and not just be pushing one another's buttons and game playing
I could go on and on about this novella collection, but hey I have to leave you lots to discover for yourselves, and it's certainly worth reading. At the very beginning I was a little dubious as to how I would get along with it, due to the sexual references, and language used, and I admit I was initially a little put off by the first of the scenes, but then I found I wanted to know more about what would really happen between two unsuspecting people, one vampire, and one human that were thrown together. So I ploughed on and ended up really enjoying the book.
I loved the character of Morgan's butler, and the friendship that grows between him and Angelina. I also adored how Angelina changed as a person herself as well as her attempts at chipping away the hard exterior he has built around himself.
Even though the characters of Delilah and Irene are cast as what you could say more evil vampires, that scheme and use humans and treat them as toys that are expendable once they have been used in whatever game they are playing at the time. Though both women come across as hard hearted and at times quite vindictive it is very clear by the end of the book that they both truly love Morgan and want him to be happy and find love once again.
So from initially planning on just reading the first novella, I just continued on and on reading until I had finished the whole collection! When reading the collection there are certain title headers as you go through it but it doesn't actually number the novella's so though I felt I had read more than just one novella, the collection never seemed to drag on, the collection flows beautifully and fits well has a full length novel.
So did I enjoy the book? I surprised myself a little by getting through the steamy racy parts, though I would say that is because of the strong plot, and well developed characters.
Would I recommend the book? I would, though due to certain language, descriptions and content I would say it is for the New Adult, Adult Audience so probably 18+ age group.
Would I want to read more novella's/novels in this series? I think there are just five novella's in the "Ward Of The Vampire" Series but when I checked out Kallysten on Goodreads there are more novella's etc featuring some of the other character's in the book such as Irene, and Delilah so I fully intend to read those to learn more about the female vampires. I mean have they had relationship, how were they created? Will Morgan feature in these other novella's? How and why was he created? I still have so many questions and thoughts about these characters.
Would I want to read more titles by Kallysten? Yes I loved her vampires and how they interacted with humans so I'd love to read more of her vampire related titles as well as a few of the others such as The Demon's Age Series, and The Serenade Series as well as some of the standalone titles too.

FINAL THOUGHTS
How have I not discovered this author before? I'll definitely be checking out more of her books, starting with the other titles about certain characters from this series of novella's.

Book 1:
Tis the party of the century when some started receiving the blue envelopes back in August, celebrating Ward’s Birthday in December.

When Angelina’s boss, Delilah (Ward’s sister) asks her come to condo the night of the party, she unexpectedly invited to “tag” along as Delilah’s plus one. Delilah has some surprises up her preverbal shelve with some unique twist and turns.

I found the character, Angelina slightly annoying in the beginning of the book because she gave the mystery of the book away but hey whatever… I found myself not wanting to put the book down after the annoying part was done and out of the way.

The book ended not on a cliff hanger but left this reader wanting to read more and looking forward to it as well.

Book 2:
This is part two in the series and continues about same place the last book stops at.
Angelina is mentally trapped in Mr. Ward's home after the hypnotic suggestion that her employer, Delilah place on her. Angelina is a gift (an unwanted one, to boot.) of sorts for Mr. Ward from his sister Delilah. Unable to locate Delilah, Mr. Ward has went and retrieved her belongs from her apartment for her and places her in one of the rooms in his home.
Delilah has few tricks up her sleeve and tosses another suggestive hypnotic suggestion to Angelina via a Skype message. But will it be one that will allow her to leave or making her do something that neither of them wants.
And what was up with that shoe scene, what away to some women's hearts...
The story was interestingly written and the series so far is seems to be getting better with each book. I am looking forward to read the next book to see what happens next.
The book was a solid four star read.
Book 3:
Angelina is still suck in Ward's home...the setting is during the holidays.
Angelina was scheduled to visit with her parents but with the problem that she has with not being able to leave Ward's home, she cancels. Her parents are very adamant about she their daughter they book a flight to come her but they don't know about why she is staying Wards home.
How will she explain? Most importantly will Angeline or Ward figure out a way for leave for Angelina to be able to leave?

I found the book to be interesting, captivating & well written. Overall enjoyable story that I would rate a solid 5 star. Looking forward the next installment that is due to come out in October, A Cowards Way Out.
Book 4:
The Cowards Way Out, another installment in The Ward Series but be warned the ending is one that Oh My Goodness…
I do recommend to read the first three installments to this series beforehand.
This was an interesting read to a point, Delilah FINALLY releases Angelina from the compulsion that has kept her there at Morgan’s mansion (or is it…) for the last couple of weeks. In the book you also get to read about “mother” and the … that she is telling Angelina about Morgan’s past….
Angelina realizes that she has feeling for her but Morgan is being Morgan (at least that is how I am getting it as I have read the three prior).
I am so looking forward to the next installment. This series so far has been a great series to read...
Book 5:
This is the last book in the Ward of the Vampire series... and the ending was to me HFN ending that could of been more Overall interesting, enjoyable and good finish to this series. And yes Ward ...

Kudos to Kallysten with this different vampire story.

Where do I begin? Ward of the Vampire was unlike anything I have ever read. It approached the plight of the vampire a bit differently than I expected. I was glued to the pages of this book, as a result. I needed to understand the struggle, the pull, the chemistry that existed between Morgan Ward and the young Angelina.

About the Characters:
Morgan Ward was a prisoner to his past. Because of the trauma that he had endured and due to the betrayal of his family, he shut himself off to everything except work. He was a scarred individual. He stubbornly refused to allow himself any amount of happiness. And then he met Angelina.

Angelina was a mix of fire and sweetness. She was an innocent in many ways, but she was also a passionate vixen. She knew what she wanted and yet she did not always know how to go about getting it. In the end, her desire for Morgan's whole heart is what gave her the courage to do what needed to be done.

Stephan was adorable. I liked him. The glimpse that I got to see of this sub-character was perfect. He was charming in his role.

Delilah was a curious vampire. There seemed to be more to her than what was initially presented. She was hard, stubborn, controlling, and arrogant, however, she had a warm concern for her brother. That intrigued me. It made me want to know her story.

Mother was a first class piece of work. All I kept thinking was who made her and how did she end up so cold. She obviously cared for her son though. What does that say about her?

Rating: 3.5/5
Recommend: Yes
Audience: Adult
Status: R
Chemistry/Intensity: Yes
Conflict/Drama: Yes
Family Dysfunction: Yes

Morgan's ward Angelina

This was a great series and I think it's best to get them all at the same time, because I couldn't put the books down and I read one after the other. Morgan Ward has some serious issues to get over for him to even think about having relationship with another woman. And Angelina has no idea that her boss Delilah is a vampire and is using compulsion to get Angelina to go to her brothers birthday and that she will never be able to leave the mansion without being released from that compulsion without dying. It's a constant struggle for Angelina and Morgan from the start. There are so many obstacles to get over for each of them. What a ride you will take with them. And you will be glad that you did. I loved it!

If you want to read someone’s sexual fantasies then this book is for you! The story lacks depth and the female character was whiny! Less sexual descriptions and more use of the imagination would have been better!

I really enjoyed reading this series. This is the first series I have read by the author and wasn't disappointed. The way the author writes, it draws you into the story and makes you want to read until the very end of the book. With this being the full serial, my review is for the whole series and not individual books.

This is not your average vampire story - this is something completely different and better. I really loved this version of vampire stories. The way the characters connection comes on as a strong pull to both of them and the chemistry in such a short time, makes it feel real. The way they come together and learn as much as they can about each other and then hope for the best, this is not your average story.

Morgan Ward is a sexy, hot, alpha, domineering vampire who has had a trouble past and doesn't believe he deserves love. He rather suffer and not find love so he doesn't make the same mistake again and have to live with more regrets, thanks to his family's betrayal. However, when he meets Angelina at his birthday party - that's when things start to change. When he realizes what he sister has done to Angelina, his whole world as he knew now must change to revolve around Angelina until she is free. The more time he spends with Angelina, the more he wants to be around her and care for.

Angelina can be sweet and sassy. She is innocent in some ways, and not always knowing what's going on around her. She works for Miss Delilah (Morgan sister) and has been a loyal employee for over five years, so when she gets asked (or told) to join her to her brother's birthday party, she can't refuse. Now with her being at Morgan's she gets to learn about him and find out some of his past. She has never met a man like him and when she learns what his family has done to him, she makes a decision to have Morgan's whole heart which gives her the strength and courage to do what she must.

Now you'll read about Stephan who is Morgan's butler and also someone who you can grow to like and you do when you get to know a little about him.

Miss Delilah loves her brother very much and doesn't want to see her brother suffer anymore. She does what she thinks is right even though she knows it's not the best thing to do. You get parts of her in the story and now wonder what her story is.

Mother I wanted to be able to punch in the face for how she treats and talks to people however she is also the maker to Morgan & Delilah. In the end, she wants what is best for her "son" and to move on from his past. She may have a different way about doing things but it is mostly out of love.

Overall this story was really amazing. I enjoyed it from the first to the very last page. It's a vampire romance but you also learn about each character which you'll connect with. I couldn't ask for a better story.

Great job to the author, I highly recommend.

I really enjoyed how this book was written as if Angelina was telling a story and inserting her snarky remarks throughout. The characters were all pretty interesting and believable.

The last sentence of this book/series describes the story pretty well. It was not a vampire story, it was a love story. Yes, Morgan was a vampire and that sets the whole background for everything that happens, but it fast became a love story over a vampire one. I was also a lot more invested in the story in the beginning when things were more complicated and it wasn't all about Angelina trying to save Morgan from himself because she loved him.

Angelina has been working as a personal assistant for Delilah for years and rather enjoys her job and the challenges she has to overcome there. But everything changes the night that Delilah takes her along to one of the biggest parties around that's being thrown by one of the riches men in the city, Morgan. Who happens to be Delilah's brother (well, more or less). Things fast take a turn for the worse and Angelina finds herself trapped inside the mansion by her vampire warden. She gets a crash course in finding out that there's more in this world than she ever imagined and now she has found herself in the middle of one of their plans.

Morgan is full of so much self loathing that he is always pushing Angelina away and, when he's not being overwhelmingly considerate of her, kind of rude. Despite the way he treats her and will not answer any of her questions, it's this kindness that he shows without thought that has Angelina falling in love with him. And with complication after complication coming about, she only learns more about him. And the more she learns, the more she wants to break thru his walls and make him see that he is not the monster that he truly believes himself to be.

Despite Morgan not believing it when Angelina tell him that she loves him, she knows she really does. And she also knows that he has feeling for her that he just won't allow because he feels he does not deserve it. So she pushes and pushes him to try and make him see that the horrors of his past were not his fault. But as he continuously refuses to stop hating himself, Angelina feels that putting distance between them might help. And when she finds out that he has seemingly run away for more self punishment, she goes after him. Only to find that she was played again by his family. It doesn't really bother her much though because she ends up having what could arguably be the best day of her life with Morgan there. Soon enough though her joy fades when realizes nothing has changed with him and that she would want more from a relationship with him. This time when they say goodbye it feels much more permanent than the last. Needless to say though, the ending was rather sweet.

WARD OF THE VAMPIRE by Kallysten was a really good book, the book that I read contained all five installments of the series.

The story in this book is well written, but I did notice that there were some inconsistencies in the timeline of the book, for instance, at one point it said Lina had been in the house for three weeks and then in the next book it said that she had only been there for two weeks. the plot of this book is well developed and is what intrigued me to read the book. The characters in this book are well written and well developed, Lina seems like she has not seen very much of the world and is shy and timid, while Morgan the rich millionaire (aren't all vampires millionaires????) has seen it all and done it all, afterall he is 435 years old.

Lina is suddenly invited by her boss Miss Delilah to attend her brother, Morgan, birthday party, but what Lina does not know is that Miss Delilah has compelled her to go to the party and then again compelled her to stay in house unless she leaves with Miss Delilah. Lina spends three weeks stuck in the house with Morgan trying to get close to him and she has felt an instant attraction to him. Miss Delilah and Morgan's maker, whom they call Mother, had decided that Lina was the perfect women to help Morgan get over his last two loves, that he had to kill. Each time the author lets us think that Lina has broken down one of Morgan's walls he builds a new one and shuts Lina out again. This story is told as if Lina were writing to us, I think this has to be the first time I have read a book like that. Morgan, although he's a vampire which I usually love to read about, really gets under my skin, he never truly lets Lina in until he thinks that he has lost her for the second time, and then suddenly its as if a switch has been flipped and he lets all his walls down, by the end of the book I really just wanted to slap him so that he would open his eyes and get over his past.

WARD OF THE VAMPIRE by Kallysten was my first read by this author, it was a good read. I would give this book 3/5 fangs.

Angelina has been a high level personal assistant for five years to socialite, Delilah, whose brother, Morgan, is giving the party of the year for the rich and famous. Much to her excitement, Angelina goes like Cinderella to the ball, but once there, becomes a pawn in vampire games between Delilah, her brother, and their “mother.” Delilah compels Angelina to stay with Morgan in his Central Park mansion and thus begins their complicated relationship. Morgan, not surprisingly for a four hundred year old vampire, stays stuck in his old ways and because of some traumas from his past, does not want a relationship with Angelina. They do start a kind of relationship in that Morgan has the ability to give Angelina fantasies that seem real at the time and in that fantasy world, he can trust himself to let go an act on his feelings for her.

Angelina determines to break through all of Morgan’s staunch defenses despite the many obstacles he puts in their way. She seems to have no unexpressed thought and constantly pushes him with questions about who he is and his past that he does not want to answer. She also has some endless internal monologues that can get tedious. I like this story for the most part; however, as I have found in other serialized work, it could use some paring down. The extended monologues drag out the action. I admire Angelina’s feistiness, but sometimes she can grate on the nerves. The one place I would have liked to see extended was the HEA as they had to work so hard to get there.

I received a copy of this series for free in exchange for my unbiased review of the book.

When I first started reading this book series I couldn't get into because of the rambling way at times that the main character, Angelina, would ramble on about various things and to me it was...not appealing in the least and completely blocked me from becoming engaged in the book on any level. So I put it aside for awhile while I read another book and then I came back to it. Apparently that was what I needed because after doing exactly that I was able to get into this book and actually enjoy it.
Angelina finds Morgan Ward attractive but she could really do without the attitude and how cold he is. It's his way of protecting himself because of things that he has done in his past and though he too finds her attractive he does his best to keep her at arms length while she is forced to stay at his house after the party that she attends with her boss, his "sister". It is an engaging love story that fills you with suspense at the right times as you go along and I really enjoyed being sucked in at the right places and times that had me totally believing what was happening to be real only to find out something entirely different.
I would have liked it if I could have seen the chapter break downs instead of just "so many minutes left in the chapter." Because when it shifted to the next step in the serial that's what I felt was more of a chapter but all in all this is a very enjoyable series if you get it all at once.

I missed reading vampire books and was glad to see this series screaming out for me to read.
Book 1- Ward of the Vampire - 4 stars -This was a good start to the series. I had no clue that this story would end up where it did. It reads a little bit differently than I am use to. I can't wait to see what's next.
Book 2 - My Reluctant Ward - 3 stars - This part starts off where book one left off with a small recap. This book gives us more information but also leaves us with unanswered questions. I enjoyed this part of the story a little more than the first. It still eaves me looking forward to the next part of the story.
Book 3- Awkward Holiday - 3 stars- The holiday portion of this story was done well. So far I've liked reading this story but the "vampire" part has only shown itself by compulsion and fantasy. Well, also notice of the famous Black Mug. No history or biting as of yet then all the sudden we finally get to it! His speed, his age, the vampire nails.
Book 4- The Cowards Way Out - 4 stars- Now we have finally arrived to some good information. Wow- and its intense! It took a long time to get here but I'm glad to finally know more!
Book 5 - Homeward - 4 stars - Great ending to the story. Take a trip to Hawaii while trying to work out a relationship issue -sure thing!

The author did a good job at keeping me on my toes and wanting me to read on. I read this whole thing within 24hrs! The beginning i felt was fast paced..The main characters met and things have happened unexpected - i had some jaw dropping moments which followed by WTH happened?! I had my moments where i giggled like a school-girl and wish I was Angelina...
Somewhere towards the middle-end..i felt it being a little repetitive...it was going back and forth with the same thing and i felt like it was dragging a little bit, like cmon already!! When i finished the book...honestly i wish for a different ending..something more..I was not expecting the book to end just like that with Morgan finally being able to overcome this fear/pain he has been carrying. An ending with more of what is now become of Angelina and Morgan...seriously, i thought the author had hinted something for an ending when Irene - the "mother" had mentioned to Angelina not to call her "mother" as only her children can call her that..for she is not her child...YET...blah.

Overall I still think this was entertaining. Im glad i picked this up.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

It’s awesomesauce ya’ll! The author did such an amazing job with this story; it has fleshed out characters and a well-developed storyline and world. Things are not at all what they would appear to be with this book so no preconceived ideas...and I absolutely loved how this story played out; not to mention the chemistry between Angelina and Morgan...sizzling hot! I laughed, I cried, I giggled...and yea gigglesnorted too. It’s one of those kind of books that has you on the edge of your seat and keeps you engaged and reading all the way through. So I received this book for a honest review from Netgally, and I was super excited, because I like a good vampire story. I really enjoyed this authors voice and the story about Angelina and her Vampire Morgan. The writing style was not one I was used to but it flowed really nicely and I really was interested to see where she would take the story, in fact I just wanted to keep reading because I wanted to know how it ended. I feel though that at points it was bit one dimensional, and wished the author gave us the Morgan's point of view and even Delilah's point view. So if your looking for an good vampire story take a peak at this one.

Ward of the Vampire is completely different from your average vampire story. I saw it as the journey of a vampire learning to accept himself after a life of love’s unfortunate events. Overall this story was really amazing. I enjoyed it from the first to the very last page. It's a vampire romance but you also learn about each character which you'll connect with. I couldn't ask for a better story. This tale gives a new look at vampires and what they can do. Even that in some way they want the same things as everyone else.

"In the end what does matter is that this isn’t a vampire story. It is, and has always been, a love story.". Truer words gave never been spoken. This story has so many feels, that I am speechless on trying to figure out where to start or end for that matter. Angelina is a spunky heroine that goes after what she wants. Morgan is the reluctant hero that is afraid to live and love again. Any more details would just be spoilers and I don't do spoilers. Read, weep, smile and most of all enjoy. Okay!

This was an okay read, I may have given it a higher rating than a 2.5 if it had not been so slow. Morgan acted like a child to be four hundred years old. This is my opinion it may not be others and when he finally comes around the book ends what a bomber. I just wanted more of Morgan and Angelina story after they got together to see what happens next.

This is by far one of the best books I have ever read!
Everything about it, from the characters, the plot, the length of the book, it was just perfect.
I especially love that the story wasn't predictable.
I hope to read more by this author.

Lovely heartwarming love story by Kallysten

You're constantly rooting for this endearing couple and wanting to smack two of the supporting characters. I promise you will emotionally fall in love with their sometimes heartbreaking struggles. I know you will Absolutely Love It!

A good vampire love story

At parts slow, but I read all five books in a day and half. I was invested to see if Morgan could get over 400 years of guilt and if Angelina would finally throw up her arms and leave, ok she couldn't do that without dying.

Was a bit faced paced for me, but I enjoyed it, even though I normally don't like serials; I am glad I got the chance to read them all together without having to wait.
