Once I was released from prison, I thought that all of the heartache was over. I was back with my family, and I assumed that the nightmare had come to an end. Little did I know, the nightmare had actually just begun. Everybody around me was keeping secrets that would send me right back to a dark place; a place way worse than the prison that I had just emerged from. This time of my life was supposed to be my “happily ever after the bullshit.” King’s empire was bringing in more money than he could count. I was about to get the wedding of my dreams. On the outside, things looked so perfect, and I was beyond happy. In fact, I was so happy that I didn’t see the deceit that was happening right under my nose.
They say that every friendship, every relationship, is bound to fall apart when you start keeping secrets. That couldn’t be truer with King, Meech, Siren, Dolla and Jada. They were all keeping secrets that would tear apart our family and our business, and I was too busy in my own immense happiness to even see it.
But soon I would.
Merely weeks after my release, I would find myself, once again, in a world that was turned upside down, and yet again, all of the blame would fall on my undying loyalty to my King.

OKAY sue me! I said I wasn't going to read this mofo.. BUT I did because... I just needed to know what the hell was going to happen with Siren... and yet I was more into Jada and Dolla. I mean hell their story line was honestly the best in the book. Kennedy and King were on my nerves... all the kiss kiss cute cute LOVE LOVE started to get on my nerves.
And then... the is HIT.THE.FAN and I was like here we go FINALLY.. actually thinking about it. I really didn't learn much more about the characters from the first book. I think two new characters were added and some serious drama ( Which I was actually interested in.. who knew lol)
So now that truth's have been put all out in the open... I am now interested to see how everything is tied up in a bow. AND great thing I don't have to wait that long ( or else I would have been pissed) because the part 3 will be out in 2 days.
I am so hoping Jada kicks some ass.. I am so rooting for this chick to literally kick some ass. If she doesn't give me at least a little woman scorned... I am seriously going to be pissed. As far as Kennedy... I need her to give me SOMETHING anything other then head in the cloud.
Now breaking it down.
Kennedy- Lawd I hope you give me something fierce in this final book. You have spent 3 years of your freaking life behind bars to have these lying bastards smiling all in your face... I need her character to BRING IT.
Jada- Honey, I need her character to give me all of angela bassett in waiting to exhale.. anything less I will be disappointed.
Siren- One word... disappear
King- I kinda want this guy to suffer a little.. I mean that ish was dirty.
Meech- I am so not interesting in his character lol I am not sure why but he didn't bring much to the table and him and this new character didn't get much of my attention.
Dolla- Hehe I look forward to everything this guy has coming lol
Wow drama drama and mo drama ..I feel sorry for meech he didn't deserve that sugar hope London comes back for him... Now Jada going to be heart broken... KING GOING THROUGH IT .....OMG GREAT READ
A match was struck as this book was on fiyah!Since book 1, this story has taken off & not slowed down! So much revealed... I honestly felt sad for Kennedy... Not only am I upset with Jada's aim, but Siren's stylist...I was hoping Maria would stop her personal vendetta. These characters truly brought the drama!! Phenomenal writing Ms. Watkins!! Need part 3 ASAP!
Finally, the secrets are out. I knew this was gonna drag on but come on. I really don't see why Kennedy is that upset. King and Siren were sleeping together before she got in the picture. She even suspected it. I understand no one wants kids outside their relationship but it is what it is. She's gonna really and rightfully be mad when she finds out Siren caused her to do three years. Now that's some truth for you. Jada is the one who will definItely be hurt. Not only did Dolla cheat and have babies, but now he's gonna want her help. Somebody please go on and kill Siren, she's just messy and I don t feel sorry for her. I like the story but it lost stars because it kept repeating scenes and we were at a standstill until the end where it finally picked up. I could've just skipped to the last two chapters. If you don't read this part don't worry, you'll be reading it in part 3.
This was a great addition to the series. I was hoping Siren got dealt with in this book but alas she's still alive. I don't see why Kennedy mad at King. He didn't even know about the baby. And she NEVER asked him if he slept with Siren. She asked Jada. I also don't see why Meech felt betrayed by King. Again, no one asked King about Siren maybe he should've volunteered the info when Meech expressed interest in her but I don't think it's betrayal that he didn't. Betrayal is what Siren did. Period.
I don't know if I have the energy to read another installment. I just want to know what happens. Does Jada leave Dolla? What happens with Kennedy and King? Will Meech get London back? How, and when does Siren get her ass handed to her? What about that Maria chick?
Domino effect!!! Selfishness gets u nowhere. All of this because one person couldn’t handle the truth!! If he don’t want u he don’t want u. Poor Kennedy, she’s catching hell all the way around. I hope her and King figure it out. And poor Jada, Dolla all I can do is SMH!! Meech you can’t make a hoe into a housewife. Hopefully he can get London back. Maria needs to sit her vindictive butt down too. Toooo much!!
Lord this book had a lot of juice and I was just patiently waited for it to be served…although certain ppl only knows certain thing this is wat keeps me on edge…siren needs to go but I feel bad because she has Elijah who everyone cares about…I lowkey wanted KEnnedy to b messing with Dre I know I know Kong loves KEnnedy but I be wanting get back 😜😉 on to book 3
This book is packed full of emotions, laughing, crying, happiness, sorrow, and just plain madness. Siren, I have wanted to strangle since the beginning. I knew she was going to be a problem. I feel bad for Kennedy and even worse for King, but he asked for it by messing with the she devil (Siren). Overall I’m headed to read the next book.
Great read that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I wonder if love like this really exist. I would love to find out. I love this series. Jessica Watkins is a great author.
Siren gotta die. Kennedy needs to grow up. The baby was before her. Yeah he lied. Deal with it as adults and move on. Poor Jada. It's one thing for your man to cheat and another to go raw and produce offspring. Detective Sanchez gotta die too.
I had to re-read this series when I found out 2 more parts have come out that I didn't read!!! I can only imagine what I missed so let me re-read part 3 so I can get to the end...
Loved it! I really liked the story and the characters in the book. Loyalty is something big for me and this book series touches on it a few times. If you like those urban street stories, this book series is a good read. I recommend this series.
